SUPER GOOD FOOD. This place had a great atmosphere and a great staff, that serves up some great pizza, fries, salads, and desserts

We really enjoyed going to LaMesa. The pizza was excellent. The restaurant was clean (which was a huge plus). They were really friendly. Definitely kid friendly. There's ample parking, so no need to worry about that. We enjoyed it and would recommend you going.

Nice place and nice employees. Pizza was not so good. Crust was more like bread than a pizza crust. Toppings and cheese were nothing special. I had high hopes with the overall rating. I won't be going back.

La Mesa Pizzaworks is the new kid in town. Not only that, but they are also a Kosher supervised by the San Diego VAAD. I didn't get a whole pie, but some slices to try a variety. I tried the margharita, the BBQ, the "I can't not believe it is pepperoni" slice. All the slices were great. I was particularly fond of the BBQ sauce on one of the slices. I learned it is a house made kosher sauce, and it's delicious! It's definitely a keeper. The plant based pepperoni was great, too. It is a little on the think side, but that promotes a good chew. Its flavor was spot on, and their mind and palate registered pepperoni indeed. The Margharita slice was good, too. The sauce was tasty, and the basil was fresh. The crust on all their pizzas is slightly bready and could use a little chew, in my opinion. It is a very good house made kosher crust. They offer a good amount of inside seating. The menu consists of pizzas, leafless salads, appetizers, soups, pastas, and my favorite: calzones, which I look forward to trying on my next visit. The service was very friendly.

In a very nice manner he asked several questions about the card, including how much I thought was on it. When I informed him that I thought there was $13.00 on the card, he immediately deleted that amount from the bill. Both he and Norma were accommodating and respectful throughout. We were really happy with the new menu and the food was delicious. A huge shoutout to Eddie, our waiter, who made the experience even better. He made sure our drinks stayed filled, explained the new menu to us, and after our food came out he genuinely wanted to make sure everything was correct and that we were happy with our order. Excellent service like that is unfortunately rare nowadays, and it really stood out to us. We ordered the pork belly pizza and loved it! My husband has celiac disease, so finding good gluten-free pizza can be difficult, but they did an amazing job making sure everything was completely gluten free and prepared correctly. It's so appreciated when restaurants take that seriously. Overall, such a wonderful dining experience and we will definitely be back. Thank you Eddie for the outstanding service!

Honestly, it felt like the restaurant was magically reserved just for us. Cozy, romantic, and straight out of an Italian dream The decor is unreal. Vintage and wildly creative in the best way. There's a cork ceiling feature in the center, floral wallpaper that feels like a European café, chalk drawings of famous Italian landmarks, glowing green glass bottle lights that double as art, and, wait for it, an actual old Vespa sitting proudly inside the restaurant. It's whimsical, nostalgic, and charming without trying too hard. My husband chose this spot specifically for their cheese wheel pasta, and WOW was that the right call. The cheese is imported straight from Italy, and Monday is their famous cheese wheel night (10/10 recommend). The pasta changes weekly, but ours came with sage and wild mushrooms and tasted like an elevated, sophisticated fettuccine Alfredo. Rich, creamy, aromatic, and indulgent without being heavy. It felt fancy in the best ways without being pretentious. I ordered the short rib gnocchi, and while I personally wished the gnocchi was a touch less al dente, the flavors absolutely delivered. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender, deeply savory, and perfectly paired with the sauce. Great comfort food on a rainy night. And now... let's talk about the real star of the night: THE GARLIC BREAD. We ordered TWO because it was genuinely the best garlic bread we've ever had. Perfectly toasted on the outside, soft and fluffy inside, seasoned to absolute perfection. Surprise: it's drizzled with their house-made balsamic vinaigrette. I didn't know I needed balsamic on garlic bread until this moment in my life. I will never be the same. The service was just as delightful as the food. We drink a lot of water, and for funsies our waitress brought refills in different whimsical containers -- including a literal glass fish We were cracking up the whole time. Attentive, playful, and warm service that made the night feel special instead of rushed. This is officially one of our favorite Italian restaurants. We wished we lived closer, but even with an hour drive in the rain, it was 100% worth it. Romantic, cozy, creative, and absolutely delicious. Come hungry. Order the cheese wheel pasta. Or try any of their weekly specialty days. Do not skip the garlic bread. Trust me.

Every time except this last week it has been no problem and the kitchen has accepted my request (even if they think it is strange). I am half Greek and brown/burnt butter is a typical ingredient in our pasta dishes and one I prefer. Unfortunately, this last week the management at Lido's refused my request for the brown/burnt butter even though I told them I had it every time I had ordered this pasta special. Her reason is that she did not think I would like it even though I have eaten pasta with the butter most of my life (I am 78). Nothing I said convinced her to honor my request. So I did not eat the pasta but instead boxed it up and took it home where I was able to brown/burn butter and enjoy the pasta. I'm not sure I will return to Lido's in the future if they will not honor a customer's request. It was not an outrageous request--I just want the butter made the way I like it. Management doesn't need to tell me what I like or not based on their taste. Our server was apologetic and it was not her fault so she did get a generous tip :)
