Such a wonderful experience at Limoncello! My bestie and I came for a little celebratory dinner and everything from the food to the service was great. We shared the caesar salad, gnocchi with added prawns, and the Salamino pizza with added garlic and mushrooms. You could really taste the freshness of the ingredients in everything! The gnocchi was so soft and pillowy, and the pesto sauce was flavorful without being overpowering. We added the prawns and they were HUGE, perfectly cooked, and absolutely delicious. The pizza was fresh, cheesy, garlicky and exactly what I was hoping for. Our server, Marco, was wonderful and helped us decide what to order. He even surprised us with a complimentary tiramisu for dessert, which was so light and airy and the perfect ending to our meal. Between the beautiful atmosphere, delicious food and great service, it made our night celebrating an upcoming wedding and birthday feel extra special.

I planned to meet up with a friend of mine who used to work with me. We have not really seen or talked to each other in such a long time. Since she lives out in east county, I told her to meet me here. I love coming here! The staff is so friendly! And the service is always excellent! We definitely had to have the limoncello martini! Sooooo good! We started with the garlic bread, nice and buttery, and the artichoke hearts which are always sooooo good! It was nice of them to split our caesar salad for us. We both ordered the pappardelle with short rib, Italian sausage and a meatball. This was really good! For dessert, we shared the merengue, so good! It was such a great meal and great to catch up. Lucky I made a reservation because it was getting crowded. It usually is on the weekends. Again, I love coming here! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is very lively and at times can be a little loud, but other than that, a great place in La Mesa.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The food here is prepared Sicily style. It is different than the California style Italian cooking the service here was perfect. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience is bright and romantic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music is beautiful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We stopped by for happy hour to celebrate a birthday and had an enjoyable experience overall. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant has a bright, airy atmosphere with colorful Sicilian-inspired décor that immediately feels welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was friendly and attentive for most of our visit. As the restaurant filled up, things slowed down a bit, but nothing that significantly impacted our experience. We ordered three appetizers from the happy hour menu. Two were excellent, while the third missed the mark. The pasta dish was outstanding--perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The salad was fresh and generously loaded with ingredients. The grilled artichoke, however, was disappointing. It was a bit soggy and heavily covered in sauce, which overwhelmed the artichoke itself. [[HIGHLIGHT]]One of the fun touches is being able to see the fresh pasta hanging on drying racks, and they also prepare some pasta table-side in a giant cheese wheel, which is entertaining to watch and adds to the overall experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Between the inviting atmosphere, good food, and lively presentation, it's a great spot for happy hour.

First time here, and we came for happy hour. Everything we ordered was delicious! Arancini, polpette, cozze & vongole, carbonara, and fettuccine al ragù. At $10 each, the portions and flavors were amazing! We loved the limoncello martini! Not quite like the one we had on the Amalfi Coast last year, but a fun twist. The popsicle was so refreshing and complemented the drink perfectly. We'll definitely be back to try more happy hour dishes!

Amazing! I have been wanting to check out their happy hour for a while now and it did not disappoint! Of course we all had to try to signature Limoncello Martini. Which at $10 a pop with a bonus full size lemon ice popsicle garnish was a steal. We also had the $9 classic and mango sangrias...yum! However the assortment of $10 plates were deliciously awesome! Between 4 of us we shared the meatballs (decent sized in marinara sauce), spaghetti carbonara, cacio e pepe, margherita pizza, and beet salad. Everything was fantastic and the serving sizes were plenty to share. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was great with open front indoor outdoor seating and the decor right down to the bathrooms was so cute and cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff were charming and attentive as well. We will definitely be back and bring and refer friends.

Food is Italian from Sicily so it a little different from other Italian cultures. It's definitely different. The is friendly and we meet the chef. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a little cute place with lots of impressive pictures. Ambience is nice and quiet for dates . Nice music[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a very cute place with all the bright colors of yellow.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was amazing. Very accommodating with anything you ask for. As for the food it was mediocre. My dish the Brassato, was by far the best and it was a slow cooked pork dish and it had amazing flavor and tender. The pasta dishes were not good for the others at the table. One was a special with pappardelle meat sauce that had an odd taste to it. The vodka rigatoni was not good either. The sauces had weird flavors I've never experienced before with Italian food. I could not put my finger on the odd taste. Wish the food was better as it's such a cute place. It might have something to do with not Italian ran.

Can't believe it's been almost two years since I dined here. The decor is modern and clean. We were given complimentary bread with butter and olive oil. For drinks I got a mocktail and a limoncello martini, which came with a popsicle! We shared the guazzetto and the insalata limoncello for our starters. The guazetto had black mussels, clams, calamari, and prawns. It was a nice mixture of seafood! For our entrees, we chose the paccheri carbonara and branzino. Both dishes were very flavorful! He also ordered a cappuccino before dessert came. The chocolate molten lava cake was pretty good! Overall, I had a nice time here!

Went here for dinner with another couple, and really enjoyed the delicious Italian food and excellent service! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is a beautiful location in the heart of downtown La Mesa[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], with many places to go before or after dinner. Cocktails were good, but general alcohol options were limited. I would recommend this spot and would eat here again.

Came here for restaurant week. We had a reservation and we got seated right away. Parking isn't the best but there's a paid lot nearby. For appetizers, we had the arancini and bruschetta. The arancini was so good and flavorful while the bruschetta tasted fresh. For our entrees, we had the pollo saltimbocca and the brasato. The brasato was super tender with bold flavors while the pollo saltimbocca had milder more herby flavor. Both were delicious! For our desserts we tried both the tiramisu and cannoli. The cannoli was not sweet at all if you're into that and the tiramisu was really good! I also had the limoncello martini and that tasted good! It didn't taste like alcohol at all it's dangerous lol. It's a small place with many tables so it can get a little loud inside. Service was fantastic though!!!

Andy And Samuel are the nicest people! My Husband and I celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary here at Limoncello and we couldn't have picked a better place to dine and reminisce! Andrew was very accommodating with our dinner choices. I couldn't find anything on the menu with truffle oil and my husband couldn't find anything with bolognese sauce, but the chefs were happy to put truffle oil on my gnocchi and use bolognese sauce on my Husband's ravioli! Both meals were delicious! I also had a limoncello and my Husband had a mango sangria. Both were amazingly good! They gave us a delicious tiramisu for dessert and we had a cappuccino and macchiato to finish our evening. Will definitely be back!

Tonya assured me not to worry about the timing and went above and beyond to accommodate us. Needless to say, my daughter thoroughly enjoyed her graduation dinner. I truly appreciate the dedication, flexibility, and commitment Tonya and her staff showed to make her special day memorable. Thank you for the excellent service and hospitality!

Wanted to try their pizza based on images from other yelpers so decided to come last night. Ordered…read morea medium with DOUBLE pepperoni and mushroom. What I got confused me. At first glance, it appeared I didn't get double pepperoni but after eating a piece or two there was some meat presumably pepperoni underneath all the cheese. I wasn't sure because it was bland like salami, definitely not spicy like you'd expect pepperoni to be and it definitely wasn't the small round pieces that were on top. What I'm saying is the pizza was bland I even had to add some salt to give it flavor. Very little flavor came from the pepperoni. This sucked because that's exactly why I ordered DOUBLE pepperoni. The other issue I had was they mixed the mushrooms in with the cheese rather than on top. As a result, the moisture from the shrooms made the pizza soggy. If they put the shrooms on top it would've been a different story The staff were nice but not very attentive. Those who walked past me assumed someone else helped me when in fact nobody was helping me so I basically got ignored. Someone finally asked if I've been helped and took my order. After waiting for 30 minutes my pizza was done and put out under the warmer as I stood there. There was nobody around and it literally took over 5 minutes or so for someone to walk by and I stopped them to ask if I can have my pizza, right there, on the pick up counter. He tried to find someone and that someone finally came out and gave me my food. The place was clean and nice looking overall. Plenty of indoor seating plus patio seating. The night I came there was a concert going on in the park right next to the place which made parking next to impossible so keep that in mind. YMMV. To close, I'm still looking for a place to call my home for pizza. Maybe I should be trying dedicated pizza joints rather than at Italian restaurants
