I passed this place by last time I was in town in favor of MOD. Back again, I figured I owed this place a shot. Service: The evening I came in, there was only person working. Taking orders, making food, boxing to go orders and dropping off when prepared. You can imagine this delayed the process. So 25 min to get my wings and another 5 for the pizza. The kid was calm, cool and collected; so he had it all under control, but it was just too slow to be a one man operation with a limited menu. Food: This is just shameful. You have wood burning oven and you are putting out thick crusted, no taste pies! The sausage was frozen brought in, no better than any other chain or competitor. The saddest part was the crust: way too think to properly cook in such an oven. Then we move to wings. Chicken or pigeon? Could be eithe, since they were so small. Tossed in a nice sauce, but cooked in the oven as well? Overall: I gave it a shot. Prices are fair for the pizza. Pizza is better than MOD, but not a truly authentically prepared wood fire pizza. Flame and Brew is alright, but definitely has room for improvement. While the pizza is decent, it seems like everything aside from the pizza is an afterthought. Wings are ok but very non-uniform in terms of crispiness and size. The buffalo wings I ordered did not seem like they were actually tossed in sauce, just dumped in the container and had sauce drizzled over. As a result some were very saucy, and soggy, while some were still crispy but unsauced. Both the wings and the salad I ordered came in takeout containers, even though we dined in, which is both less nice and more wasteful. The salad was alright but was served with a plastic packet of Ken's dressing. I was not impressed that they do not make their own dressing in house. The pizza is alright, but didn't blow us away. Overall, not sure what we're missing but we were not that impressed and it seems like they do not put that much effort or care into their non-pizza items. read more

First time customer, first that I know I have ever eaten a pizza cooked their way. Placed my order at the counter, (takeout) lady was very happy to wait as I looked over menu. Pizza arrived and what I thought was a bit too long of a wait...but maybe because it's oven cooked. Took pizza home (about 15 min drive), pizza was still warm but it was not easy to cut into smaller pieces (like my wife wants). Pizza in the middle was soft enough like it should but as we ate outward towards the crush, the pizza was getting very crunchy...crust was close to rock hard. After a long day of work and travel you sometimes just want an easy dinner...Pizza can't be any easier than that. My co worker also wanted pizza so I said find a place and I will pick it up. We just wanted to chill in our hotel rooms and call our spouses. My coworker found this place on line and the food sounded bad looked good. So we ordered for pick up. Pulled up to a corner building with plenty of parking. Walked in and the two staff there cooking the pizzas we right there to ask if I needed help. Told him I had placed an order and gave them my name and my coworkers name. My coworkers pizza and wings were already finished by the time I got there and mine was just coming out of the oven as I had set my pick up time about 10 minutes after his period I had a five minute drive back to our hotel and the pizzas were still nice and hot by the time I got up to our rooms. The smell in my car was so amazing. I wanted to dig into my pizza right away. Ordering online can go one of two ways... right or very wrong. The order process was quick and easy. Their website is easy to navigate. Nice colors and easy to read. They offer a few ways to pay, including Apple Pay. I would say this online order went very right. I got the pepperoni pizza. It has old fashion pepperoni on it that curls when cooked. My opinion... the best and greasiest pepperoni that goes on a pizza. My coworker had pepperoni with added jalapeños. He also got 6 buffalo wings for later, incase he gets hungry. Pepperoni might be a basic pizza but there was nothing basic about my pizza. The crust was nice and crispy not hard around the edges. The edges were nice and airy. The cheese was good and the pepperoni was perfect. If you don't like grease, you might need a napkin to soak up some from the pepperoni, but sometime you want that grease, helps the pizza slid down. This place was great. Got the F&B pizza - Tomato base sauce, pepperoni, sausage, olive, freshly chopped basil, mozzarella drizzled with Mike's Hot Honey. We had driven by this place for a couple of months before we finally found an evening to go try it out. We were very excited by what we found! The place is located on third and Nob Hill in the old Verucchi's building. Upon walking in, we were greeted by a nice large dining area with plenty of places to sit and spread out. They have a couple of large TVs on the wall, which made it nice to watch a basketball game, as well as a couple of different games Call we ended up with a number of different pizzas. Between two families, with a total of nine people, we had a large chicken, bacon ranch, a large Philly cheesesteak, and a medium F & B. The F & B was basically a meat, pizza with basil and some really good hot honey. The Philly cheesesteak sounded appealing, and was absolutely delicious!. The chicken, bacon ranch was glorious as it generally is. We were surprised by how much we liked the crust here. the pizzas were done nicely, had a nice crunch, and weren't too chewy either. There was a lot of cheese, and despite being somewhat expensive, it felt like you were getting what you paid for. They had a solid beer selection, including a lot of old school brews like Pabst, Coors banquet, and rainier! There are actually a few things that go better with pizza, then beer that costs less than a bottle of water! A small group of us were looking for a quick bite to eat. And Flame and Brew came up and I chose that our group will be having pizza for dinner. Well when you drive up the place looks like old quick mart that was converted into a pizza joint. The seating is in an open space with a couple video games towards the back and the ordering counter towards the front. You place your order at the counter and in a little while the delicious pizza is delivered to your table. The staff was very friendly and polite, helping everyone decide which pizza to order. There is a small selection of wine and beer that can be purchased along soft drinks. We had a prosciutto and pear pizza and an F&B pizza and wowsers, the pizza are fantastic. Pricing is reasonable. I really believe that you could drive past this place and not consider stopping but I suggest you do stop in and try the pizza. read more

Being that it is pie day, I thought I would update my review. This is still my favorite go-to pizza place within my budget. I've been back to this place a few times lately. They are on DoorDash and I get a credit with my credit card each month. The past two months I have used it for pizza at Flame and Brew! My favorite pizza is ham and pineapple and mushroom with extra cheese! It's so good! They still have great service, they have cool murals outside, they have some games inside for the kids to keep them occupied for a hot second. They have great deals each day of the week.
