This place was chosen for the pizza oven. Not a cozy place but there were video games. I ordered a margarita with added pepperchini (sp) peppers in a personal size. What I didn't like was the fresh tomatoes were halved cherry tomatoes. Tasty but too big! Service was fine- they brought it to the table. I may go again but won't seek it out. read more

A small hole in the wall brick oven pizza joint that is also part small town convenient/hardware store. I went because the reviews looked good. It's a little out of the way, but a good drive. When you drive up you see the smoke coming out the chimney for the pizza oven which I always like. Then you walk in and are a little thrown off by the store part but I was met by a friendly lady asking if she could help. I ordered a beer and a 10" pepperoni not knowing what to expect due to ambiance. The pizza was loaded with cheese (warm and gooey) with a decent amount of pepperoni. Crust was a little burnt in places due to it being a brick oven (which I actually do enjoy at times), a good crispy crust all the way through. My only gripe would be the amount of cheese (huh? We visited this pizza place for the first time and were immediately put off by the staff's behavior. Despite being four people of color, they seemed uncomfortable and started to freak out. From the beginning of their only being 2 girls on the floor. To 4 people on the floor 5 mins later. The staff was unprofessional , also overcharged me for a pizza, and laughed it off. After 25 minutes, they were all on the floor, watching cameras and biting their nails while we waited for mediocre frozen pizza. We were charged for the pizza immediately, was $29. And some change. so when the other coworker then tried to charge us for the pizza she had previously said was $24.25, which was outrageous. She gave us the difference back, but they had profiled us. We will never return and hope to never encounter these people in public. My family was so kind to want to still wanting to be nice to the staff after that whole interaction. I don't get very friendly with individuals whole don't respect my color. It truly outrageous in this day and age. read more

Hands down the best pizza in town .Wood fired in a huge stone oven in the front of the business. Crisp flavorful crust, abundant toppings and oozing with cheese. The red sauce was well seasoned and not sweet! The topping ingredients are high quality and not too salty. The staff here are very nice, friendly, and attentive. An ice bucket was provided for the wine purchase from inside the store area. The beer selection is decent with both micro brews and domestics. My friends and I really enjoyed our outing to this interesting establishment of one half restaurant and one half convenience store. Well worth the drive out on Ahtanum Rd. read more

The Pizzas are good but the frozen crust is like cardboard. Frozen crust will never come out well in a wood fired oven. 00 Italian flour and distilled H20 and you can make crust it is easy and way cheaper than the frozen ones they are buying. What a totally hidden gem is his place! After reading about it, we figured we should check it out and boy were we impressed! Housed inside a hardware store/mini mart, we were excited to see what we'd find. Upon entering you're greeted to the left by the humble restaurant and to the right by the hardware store with beer/pop coolers! One the back walls there are a number of taxidermied animals, including a black bear holding a beer and wearing a budweiser hat! If for nothing else, it's worth seeing the bear. There's seating for 20 or so people in the dining area, among about 4 or 5 tables. There's also bar style seating at a really cool log cabin type bar area separating the restaurant and store. They brick oven is up front and heats this place up! We're excited to come back in the winter when a warm spot will be more appreciated. The beer selection here is solid. Plenty of the expected and more than I expected of the local microbrew options. They also had lemonade which our four year old appreciated. The Pizza here was excellent. We had a wild fired special on a thin crust and a white lightning on a pan style crust. They were both really good and made the trip our here very worth it. Two of them fed 4 adults and 2 kids with about a pie leftover for the week! It's not neapolitan style that I was half way expecting, but it was very good none-the-less. Well worth going out of your way to try this place out OR get a pie to go. The only way they could make this better is if they had a lot of different microbrews in the coolers and you just grabbed one with dinner. It would fit the vibe of this place well! Last night my husband and I stopped at the Wild Fired Pizza on our way home to N. Fork Rd. We recently moved to Yakima from Seattle so we are always looking for interesting places. As we were getting out of the car I pointed out that this was a hardware store as well. We laughed about the fact that perhaps he could get the Allen Wrench he needed to fix his computer table. We opted to order individual pizzas and both of us felt they had the best one, but no way were we sharing. They were delicious, and we both look forward to trying something different Dec. 2 when we will get there early for the Seahawks game. The owner promised us they would stay open until the end of the game. So great beer, great food and service, and yes we left with the Allen Wrench! read more

Usually pretty good, always good service and a good bite. Not a bad lil spot at the far end of West Valley (toward Wiley City.) Really convenient for those of us that live out that way. Only major complaint Would be that the last time my boyfriend and I ordered food to go and the burger I had ordered was prepared WAAAAAY different than usual. I had a bacon cheeseburger that tasted like it had sat in un-refrigerated onion water combined with Ass seasoning. That aside, I have nothing bad to say. Very decent restaurant. read more

We've eaten here a total of 3 times, first time under the previous ownership--the pizza and sandwich we ordered were great that very first time. Shortly after they opened under new ownership we ordered pizzas, I went in and waited another 15 minutes after I arrived for them to be done baking (which was a non issue) when I got home the pizzas were still RAW in the center and burnt basically everywhere else, we paid nearly $50 for two pizzas so I was pretty bothered, but gave them the benefit of the doubt because it's a new owner still learning to cook in a wood oven (maybe?). Fast forward to last week we decided to give them another shot and try the burgers they are advertising on their signs. Ordered 3 burgers w/fries, one plain with only cheese (picky child), a double cheese with bacon and all toppings, a single with bacon and all toppings. They told me give them 15-20 minutes and they'd be ready, I arrived 25 minutes later, paid and was on my way. Once, I got home the single with bacon, had no bacon, the fries in every box were raw still and there wasn't any condiments on the two burgers I wanted everything on....so I was pretty mad about the bacons absence, the raw fries were a bummer too and having to pull all condiments from my fridge. The burgers tasted fine but honestly I can make them better at home, I don't think we'll go back. Anything but a chain store or restaurant. The dining room portion has floor to ceiling hand painted murals. The tables are made from true wooden spoke wagon wheels. You can not ask for nice or friendlier people. The hardware and grocery portion resemble somethinng from the old west with wooden floors and barn wood on the walls. The hardware store portion has everything from hose clamps, nuts, bolts, to chainsaw parts. The grocery store portion has the usual selections of beer and soft drinks, which all seem well rotated. The dry goods portion is pretty light with one or two of each item. The important part is the wood fired pizza, which can not be spoken well enough of. Depending on what is available they use either apple or cherry wood from the local orchards. They offer personal size as well as 12 and 16 inch pies. Both their traditional and thin crust leave you wanting to come back as soon as possible. Their menu choices are well varied. While it is not in the neighborhood of anywhere it is with 15 to 20 minutes of almost anywhere in the Yakima area. read more

Visiting from Kitsap county, looked for a local pizza place and found this gem. Didn't know what to expect when we saw a sign that said "Hardware store, mini mart, and pizza." When first walked in we saw the appearance of a mini mart, and I thought, "is this a pizza by the slice place", and almost turned around. Glad I didn't. Inside, there is a place to have your pizza and beer, we had Bale Breaker Brewing Company, local Yakima beer, very good, I'd recommend that too. The pizza was delicious. We had the 38 Special with pepperoni added. Perfectly cooked, added fresh Parmigiana cheese. Tasted very good. I would visit again. read more

I really had high hopes for this pizza, especially considering it was wood fired. But the fire is kind of wasted on this pizza. Overall it reminded me of pizza I got from the school cafeteria. I would think if the pizza is cooked in a wood fired oven the crust would be crispy/ have a bit of a crunch, but it is spongy in a really disappointing way, also the sauce was really thick and sweet. What really bothered me was that the pizza I ordered came with onions and peppers and garlic. I didn't see or taste any garlic, the peppers were sparse and spread unevenly on the pizza, and I saw like three onions. It also had sausage, but barely any. the other half which was a different kind of pizza was a similar story. I have never written a review on yelp before, but this pizza was very disappointing, I feel like I could have spent five bucks on frozen pizza and gotten something just as good with better crust.
