Worst service ever. Was given a 5 hr window to be available at home but Steve did not show up until an hour later than the given time. Had to wait 61/2hrs for a 20min job. Was quoted $700 for microwave repair and paid $105 for the washer. Had to pay $75 for the stupid quote. Would've went with someone else if not in need of washer. Spend your money elsewhere. Incompetent and rude, keep dropping F-bombs while my wife was on a conference call. I called to fix my dryer. Said the control board was bad $475.00. I call him back the next day and advised him that when I press on the door the dryer works fine. Turns out is the door latch was worn. When I explained the real issue he told me I should have diagnosed it myself. Refuse to refund me full amount. Do not hire...spend you money elsewhere. DO NOT HIRE UNLESS TIME IS THE ONLY CONCERN AND PRICE DOESN'T MATTER! Note - This review is directed at the price ONLY, not the service technician. The technician was very professional and competent. I recently had my GE Artica Profile ice maker replaced due to it overflowing. I contacted several companies on Yelp to have it repaired. Fix-It Rite was the first company to respond. They charged $75 to come diagnose the problem. The ice maker was replaced along with the water valve and the coils blown out (both at the recommendation of the service technician). The coil cleaning was an additional $50. The final price was $492.86 for the 1) ice maker, 2) water valve, 3) and coil cleaning. I requested an itemized receipt but was told everything was billed on a flat rate. The entire service took about 1.5 hours. I received additional quotes from multiple other companies, 2 of which stand out and I wish I had gotten them sooner. Both quotes itemized the costs. 1) Appliance 2Day *Final price = $221.97 *First Appointment Available 1/25/18 2) Placer Appliance Repair & Installations *Final Price = $269.12 *First Appointment Available 01/26/17 In the end I am sure that the repair will be fine I am just really bummed that it cost about double the price. I have had Steve fix electrical problems, my house thermostat, install a water heater, fix my dryer, fix my dishwasher, and do multiple other jobs over the course of about 3 years. He has always been extremely competent and is a great problem solver. Recently he fixed a coffee roaster and spent additional time discussing the problem with the company that built it. Due to the time he took to call the company, they are now reimbursing me for the cost of fixing it as they realized it was an issue that they took responsibility for. Would be a zero rating if available. I was quoted $75 for a visit to assess my over the range microwave. This quote was provided to me on two separate calls leading up to scheduled date. An hour into my appointment window(the day of the visit), after I had already taken time off to be available at home, I receive a call informing me that my visit quote is now $150. Apparently over the range microwave assessments are a two man job. There were two opportunities to disclose this requirement, but the vendor failed to do so. One of the best guys that I have ever had fix stuff for me. When Steve helps fix something for you, he doesn't just silently fix it without telling you what is going on and then tag a massive bill, he fixes it the right way (yes I said that). My air conditioner broke last week and I called Steve to help fix it. He went to my attic, determined the problem in minutes and spent time to explain to me what the problem was (turned out to be my evaporator coil being frozen), what possibly happened to cause the problem (bad previous repair with photos for proof and I am always a sucker for that) and what options I had. He actually recommended against me replacing the entire unit and instead recommended just getting the new coil since it came with a ten year warranty which definitely saved me a ton. Now I have a new evaporator coil and a cool house for the rest of my heat wave. If I ever have any problems with air conditioning, he will definitely the first person I will call. read more

I would not mark any stars for this business, They attempted to defraud me by giving me extremely inflated parts and labor costs for a less than an hour repair of an oven seal and front glass. I would encourage anyone that paid his ridiculous prices report him to the agencies he holds licensing with. They extorted a deposit check for $300 from me, then prepared an invoice for $700. I was lucky and able to stop payment on the check and found a reputable company that completed the repair for $400. The owner, Steve Spinoso, has threatened to sue me for not wanting him to complete the job, I think he is a fraud and who would want to pay $300 more for the same repair! Our A/C stopped working during the long stretch of 100 degree days. I called another local shop and they kept saying they would squeeze us in but after 3 days I gave up waiting. Fraud, NOT good, only to get SCAMMED! came out 'to come out and look at' and claimed to have 4 thousand pounds of parts to fix my stove top. When he, (the owner) got here he said he did NOT have my part to fix. And how could he ' possibly fix without the parts. He said he had burner control switches and recepticles but did NOT. The owner should have asked before he came, what kind of model and make my stove top is. When he arrived I saw his truck advertised HVAC, not an appliance repair guy. He said, ' I normally work on central heating and air'. And added that I still was charged 78 dollars for coming out to look at my stovetop. Without having the part. Then to add icing on the cake he said many people were struggling due to the pandemic. That is not an excuse to take advantage of people. Do not hire! My KitchenAid dishwasher wouldn't drain and I couldn't figure out why. I could hear the pump working so I knew it wasn't the washer but i couldn't find a block in the drain line but by routing it I knew something was stuck. Not knowing how old this appliance was i was considering buying a new dishwasher but i called Steve first. He came out and was able to find that drain line was kinked way up by the join point of the garbage disposal. He gave me a fair estimate and as promised and he also pointed out the shoddy contractor who originally installed this used a combination of part for the drain line. Andrew, his Sr Tech came out as scheduled and after sourcing several suppliers found that he could use a GE line for the KitchenAide. He came back the next day and fitted it correctly and also reset the air vent which was also shoddily installed by the original contractor. I would highly recommend this team. I could have spent $1000 on a new installed dishwasher to just find out it didn't drain either. They cost me $216 which to me is a very fair price. read more

This past summer my A/C stopped working. I called around and this was the only company that could fit me in that week, so I went with them. They said it was a blown fuse, they did some work in that area, and it started working again... For about a month, when it shut down again. I called them again, and they came and said it was a problem with the capacitor. Once again, they fixed it and the unit was working again... And once again it stopped working after a few weeks. By that point I was done with fix-it-rite and had someone else come look at it. He thought I had tried to replace the capacitor myself since it looked like such an amateur job (and was a terrible quality capacitor). He fixed it, and it has been running smoothly ever since. I'm giving them an extra star because they were available and on-time to the appointments, but I wouldn't trust them beyond that. read more

I have used Fix-It Rite 2x so far. Andrew has been "The Man". He is very friendly and professional. The first visit was to repair a washing machine. He was honest and told us he could fix it but it would be much cheaper to purchase a new one. We went with his recommendation. The second visit was to install a new kitchen faucet. After checking under the sink he called us in to show us several things wrong and the water damage it is causing due to other faucet not properly installed and dishwasher not hooked up correctly by the previous owners. He fixed it all plus he even tightened the soap dispenser. Very reasonably priced. We are in the works of making a list of many other to-do's and will be requesting Andrew. read more

The Service Guy was rude the moment he got on the phone saying they don't do quotes and when I explained that Yelp says they do, he argued with me saying it doesn't, it "should" say service call fee goes toward repair or some stupid shit like that. Then when I asked for a price "range" to repair my timer he tried to make out like he didn't know what I was talking about and very patronizing. Repairs cant be predicted but repair companies do know how much it cost to repair and or replace a timer. Don't be bullied by greedy repair Companies.. Our AC went out this week and we called Fixit Rite on Wednesday and Steve was able to come out on Thursday. Our compressor went out and needed to be replaced. He gave us three options and was knowledgeable and frank about all of them. Rather then try to upsell us on a replacement unit he gave all pros and cons for each. In the end we replaced the compressor rather then the whole unit which was half the cost. He was able to get it up and running the same day. Apparently it was still shaking more then it should last night and rather then waiting for us to call and complain he came back out this morning and fixed the problem. Now we have cool air and a unit that is quiet and doesn't shake. I was just impressed by how quickly he was able to fix the unit and that it wasn't about selling us on the most expensive approach. read more
