Amazing service. They are professional and highly skilled! Our go-to plumbing service!

I usually don't take the time to post reviews on Yelp but I had to this time. I had a leaky bathtub faucet for the last two days. I've been shopping around for quotes and almost everyone gave ridiculous prices that ranged near the thousand mark. I came across Stilwell Plumbing on Yelp. I saw everyone's comments around how Joe's services is fair, honest, and reasonable making it a easy decision to give him a call. Everyone 's review was on point. Joe took a look and knew exactly what needed to be done. He quickly fixed my leaky bathtub faucet. I even asked him to take a look at my sink at the last minute. My sink has been dripping water underneath and I had to place a bucket there to catch the drip. He accommodated my last minute request and only charged me for the original quote for the leaky bathtub faucet. I highly recommend Stilwell plumbing. read more

I've used Stilwell a couple of times. Joe was extremely knowledgeable. He gave me tips on what to do to self service in the future and avoid getting my kitchen drain clogged again. The other time he came to assess our shower and determined I needed new parts. Suggested I call the manufacturer (i didn't know they had a lifetime warranty on parts) and saved me $100 on the part. He came back a second time to install. He also suggested a switch of handles so my problem wouldn't reoccur. He's a professional and always looking out for the customer. Can't recommend him enough!! read more

Joe is the best guy in the business! Always happy and energetic to help out and explain everything he is doing. Thank you Joe

What a rare gem! Honest, craftsman, quick and efficient, competitive price, and more. Joe quoted a price over the phone to replace our gas water heater and stuck to it, even when there was some unexpected work. I will gladly have him work on any future plumbing issues we have. read more

What a great company I had. 4 bids from 2600 to 1700 for a water heater Joe fixed mine for 300.00 and said he could replace it for 1500. I would recommend them highly very honest and fair! Thank you Stillwell plumbing read more

Joe was so easy to work with. Replaced the water heater and repaired a toilet leak in less than 2 hours. I'm so thankful he made time for us even though he is very busy. Can't say enough for his integrity as well. Honest, expert and of course highly recommended. Thanks, Joe. read more

Our hot water pressure went down to a trickle (cold water pressure was fine). I called another plumber (who I had used before and was great) but left four messages with no response. So after looking at the reviews of other local plumbers, I gave Stilwell Plumbing a call. Joe answered on the first call was very professional and pleasant. I described my issue and he diagnosed the problem and gave me a rough estimate for its repair. He was able to come out the next day, quickly fixed the problem and charged me even less than his already reasonable estimate. If you're looking for a honest, professional plumber who knows his trade, look no further than Stilwell Plumbing. I hope I don't need a plumber's services any time soon, but if I do, Stilwell Plumbing is my new go to plumber. read more

If I could, I'd give him ten stars. I called regarding a leaking pipe out front. He quoted me $350. On the day of the job, he showed up on time and even had a smile. He explained everything and was very honest as to what needed to be replaced or repaired. He started the job... a short time later I went outside to ask how things were. He was having a hard time getting a pipe off. When it came to paying the bill, he ONLY charged me $300. He is very warm, kind, and very honest. I expected him to charge me double after seeing the issues and running into some problems. But he didn't. Based on other reviews, I now understand what they meant when they said he is an honest man who wants to do good work. I love the fact that his dad started the business 45 years ago. Give'em a call. read more

We called Joe to fix a hot water valve on our shower. He doesn't do the email quotes here. Tried texting first; he never responded. So tried calling talked to him. He showed up around the specified time. He fixed issue we were having, and said it was a simple fix, just a screw needed to be replaced. One of the issues we were having it fixed (the hot water doesn't cut out abruptly) but shower still drips (he'd said the dripping would stop when the valve was fixed). Also the hot water continues to drop pressure, though it doesn't cut out all the way as before. So it's better but not sure it's totally fixed. He's competetant I'm sure but he came at the end of the day and seemed in a hurry to get done. He was here maybe 10 minutes. Cost was $120. Hasn't called us back about the dripping. read more

We had a 30 year old water heater go out on Thursday. We called a big name local company who came out and gave us a $2,350 estimate for a new heater. I called Stilwell Plumbing just to get a second estimate. I talked to Joe Stilwell who said the cost was $1,500 for exactly the same heater, brand and all. He worked us in and by 5pm Friday we had hot water again. If you want a truly honest plumber, Joe is your guy. I would not hesitate to call him again. read more

It is with great pleasure and appreciation to write this review on Stilwell Plumbing Residential Service & Repair. Great service can be hard to find especially during COVID-19 and Christmas time with help needed quickly. It has been years since we have experienced honesty and integrity by a company for home repairs / home improvement. Stilwell Plumbing was prompt, professional and provided high quality work. We were incredibly pleased with all aspects of our experience with Stilwell Plumbing. Joe repaired 2 of our sinks, installed new garbage disposal and all under an hour. Like most, times are hard regarding income/finances. Stilwell's prices were very reasonable and again, honest. From now on for any plumbing repairs and home improvement, we will be contacting Stilwell Plumbing. We just can't thank you enough Stilwell Plumbing! Terry Smith Smith Family read more

Awesome! This review has nothing to do with his work since he didn't actually do any work. I called him to check my water heater and while he was here he looked at my dripping tub. He gave me quick fixes for both and didn't charge me a dime. He could've easily said to replace the water heater or put new parts in the tub, but instead he told me how to easily check the water heater and that the tub parts had a lifetime warranty. I will definitely be calling him back and recommending him to everyone. Thanks, Joe! read more

I called Joe to repair my gas water heater that kept going out. A different company I spoke to earlier that week was trying really hard to steer me into buying a new water heater. When I called Joe and described the issue, he immediately knew what the problem was and told me the solution. He was able to fit me into his schedule on short notice, and came over to repair my water heater the next day. After spending a few minutes to confirm his theory, he replaced the failed part, and then taught me some basic maintenance to avoid the issue going forward. Joe fixed the actual problem, and saved me from having to needlessly replace my water heater. When you talk to Joe, you can tell he has a passion for his trade and just really wants to help his customers. He's got a good work ethic, and I will definitely go back to Joe for my other plumbing needs in the future. read more

Last night, to my utter horror, my prized 1.31 carat diamond stud earring ricocheted off my makeup bag (I was trying to put the backing on before putting it away) into the bathroom sink and away it went down the drain. :( Normally I'm so good at closing up the drains... not this time. I hardly slept thinking OMG it's gone. The 2.62 carat pair was a gift for myself after law school in 2008. I called Joe this morning. Desperation in my voice pretty obvious. He told me he'd be over as soon as he could make it. Joe was professional, super nice, and you can tell GENUINE in his sadness for me. The earring was never retrieved. But he made such an impression on me that even though I am sad right now, I had to write this review. He's a full service Plumber- had the most impressive van/truck I've ever seen for a plumber. He looked as sad as me when we discovered my diamond earring decided to make its final home in the sewers somewhere. Joe went as far as telling me about his friend's place called Gold Digger- said it's 5 star reviews on yelp- a jewelry store I can possibly find a replacement. Maybe I'll check it out. Right now, I'm still in mourning. What a bummer. read more

Joe is an amazing guy and an amazing plumber! he came out on short notice to snake my kitchen drain! he is very punctual. He gave me a 3 hour window and showed up within 30 minutes of the window. His rate was the best out of all the plumbers that I found on yelp. His rates are so competitive that the plumber my landlord hired to fix my garbage disposal and kitchen faucet asked me for Joe's business card. Joe is great at what he does, he had our kitchen drain flowing like new again within minutes! Joe has great customer service and it shows! A few days after he fixed our drain, we had a personally handwritten thank you card from him in our mailbox with a business card and a refrigerator magnet. Who sends our handwritten thank yous anymore? Joe does! Thank you Joe for earning our business! My wife and I highlighly recommend you! read more

Honest, quality, local plumbing is hard to find these days. My husband and I just had a new baby and mindlessly left rice in the garbage disposal. Not having done dishes in a while it clogged a good portion of our disposal. We are big supporters of local small businesses and Stilwell Plumbing was perfect for the job. I called and within an hour Joe was out at my house and cleared it no problem. He was friendly and professional. I would recommend their plumbing services to anyone, and I am definitely doing business with them again! read more

I found Stilwell Plumbing on Yelp and I am so glad that I did! I've owned my house for 12 years and over the past few years, I have had problems with my plumbing to the point where my water bill doubled in cost. Apparently, pipe leaks and plumbing emergencies are something you just can't ignore. Over the years, I have had the experience of most Sacramento plumbers to be frustrating, incompetent and expensive. I cringed every time I had to find a plumber. It felt like plumbers were only in business to rip you off, do substandard work, or cause additional problems for repeat business. Maybe that's only been my experience? But then I called Stilwell Plumbing. I won't use any other plumber. Each time I have called Joe Stilwell, I have always had positive results. He has the highest customer service, most reasonable rates, and the highest quality work that I've ever encountered with home repair. He does emergency calls, big and small, 24 hours, 7 days a week, and he actually answers his calls or rings back in a timely manner. I have actually saved money, at least 50% on my water bill, received quality parts, and have paid reasonable rates since I began using Stilwell Plumbing. One more thought, and this is important, Joe is the kind of person who is really good at his profession, experienced and honest. He's in business to provide the best service around -- I always feel that he listens to me and that my needs are important to him. I highly recommend Stilwell Plumbing. read more

Googled what was wrong with a pipe under my kitchen sink. I diagnosed the problem with the information I read. When I called Stilwell, I explained with the utmost confidence what was wrong with the pipe. When Joe came out to my home, he took one look at the pipe which I thought had an issue and told me it was something different. Basically, he showed me what I thought I saw was a non-issue. I felt completely foolish for having him come out and wasting his time. However, he was very understanding and explained what it was versus what I saw. He saved me a few hundred dollars to which I am very grateful. Give him a call, you will not be disappointed. read more

Thanks Joe! My shower/tub faucet is no longer dripping. Price was more than fair and only took maybe 5 minutes. Calling you whenever I have any plumbing issues. read more

I highly recommend Joe Stilwell. He came over to address some plumbing issues that I had--clogged drains, toilets, etc. It turned out that my issues weren't as bad as I thought. He charged me a reasonable rate for his visit and to replace a part in my toilet. I think he's fair, honest, and knows his stuff. I will definitely contact him in the future for my plumbing needs and know he will do a good job for you. I believe in supporting local, small business owners vs. big chains when possible. I hope you can do the same. read more

WOW! Joe is the real deal!!! Well qualified plumber with decades of experience. I called him up with an issue I was having at my business. I had a pretty bad water leak coming from a mop sink that needed to be fixed quickly. I called the number and Joe answered my call while working another job. We spoke briefly and he listened to all of my concerns. We set a date and a time when he would come out and work the issue. On the day work was to begin he showed up on time and was ready to work. He was able to find, isolate and fix the cause of my leak very quickly and even took the time to do some further trouble shooting to make sure the issue was fixed completely. Once the job was complete he even cleaned up after himself. The place looked cleaner after he finished than it did before he started. Here's the best part, the bill was well below his estimate and he was even willing to stop by later in the week to make sure I didn't have any other issues. Joe is probably one of the last of his kind. Honest, knowledgeable, straightforward willing to do what it would take to make sure I was satisfied. I will call Joe from now on with any other pluming needs I may have. I suggest you do yourself a favor and call him first before you waste your time with other companies who are more worried about making money over doing what's right. I got nothing but good things to say about Stilwell plumbing... Thanks again Joe!!! You and your company are 1 in a million!!! read more

Mr Joe Stilwell is a no- nonsense guy. I contacted him after a big name company started selling me their club membership even before looking at my water heater (control valve / thermostat started leaking). To think that I wasted half a day from work to wait for these big name plumbers, only to sell me their club membership; then quote me almost a grand just to repair the control valve (they did not even have that part in their truck and would have to come back! They also recommended to change the whole water heater tank for 26 grand!), I paid their service call fee ($80) and kicked them out. I called Joe who was very upfront with the fees and the stuff to repair the leaking control valve. And he showed on time which really mattered to me. Mr. Stilwell replaced the control valve / thermostat in no time and charged me fairly, a lot less than those other guys were asking. I would never hesitate to call Mr Stilwell for any plumbing issues in the future. read more

My pipes were backing up into my house. I called so many plumbers each one wanting to charge 80+ just to come out to give me an estimate. All the places I called wouldn't even give me a chance to explain the issue I was having. Immediately when I called Joe he let me describe the problem and told me how much it would v Cost (wayyyy less than any other company) he came out the next day and fixed the problem. He charged me less than what he quoted me on the phone. He was so nice and welcoming. I will definitely recommend him to all my friends and family. read more

Woke up to a large puddle of water in my master bathroom. A total mess. I tried as best I could to figure out the problem however there was no clear source of the water leak. I called Stilwell Plumbing and they were able to come out the same day. The person who came out, Joe, was on time and polite. He struck me as honest and experienced. He found the problem quickly and fixed it (a huge relief). And the charge was certainly reasonable. I was very happy with the service and I'll use this company again. I'll also recommend to family and friends. read more
