I was unfortunate to lose the air conditioner in my Truck while traveling through Houston with a 40 foot trailer accompanied by my wife and two small boys. I checked into an RV park near Oak Ridge Car Clinic's location and the were recommended by my neighbor in the park. I am on deadline to travel to Amarillo, and needed my truck fixed ASAP. I called them on a Friday and said I needed to be back on the road Tuesday, could they help. I spoke with the Father who told me to come for a diagnosis. He said I needed a new compressor and belt, they were shot. He said if he could get the parts he could get it done on Monday. He claimed that he spent Friday afternoon and Saturday morning searching for the parts and they simply weren't available in Houston. He said a friend of his that works for Ford told him that in a dire emergency they would come up with the parts to get the job done. I went to Ford on Saturday, and they told me they didn't have a service slot available until Wednesday or Thursday but they would be glad to sell me the parts. They had two in stock. So I bought the parts. I called Oak Ridge Car Clinic Monday morning, and the son answered. Said his Dad was on vacation for a week, he was all alone and had 4 cars in front of me before he could work on my truck. Then he got nasty. He said it was first come first served, and he couldn't promise me anything about getting the job done by my deadline. I asked why his dad told me that he could do it if he could get the parts, and he said, "well he knew he couldn't get the parts." So he was stringing me along and had no intention of taking the job and didn't want to tell me that. I called their competitor, next door, and they said come on over, we'll take care of you. This was a very bad business practice.

When I declined the repair, I was told I owed $350 to retrieve my vehicle -- a diagnostic fee that was never disclosed upfront when I agreed to the diagnostic. I questioned the pricing because the parts quoted were significantly higher than OEM-equivalent parts available from reputable suppliers. Instead of a clear explanation or written breakdown provided in advance, the situation escalated. I ultimately paid the fee under protest in order to retrieve my vehicle. I understand shops need to be paid for diagnostics, but fees should be clearly disclosed before service, and customers should not feel pressured when they decline repairs. I strongly recommend getting all diagnostic fees and estimates in writing upfront before using this shop.

I Had my wife and my mother in law with me, but not our bags! They were in another hotel & we were paying 2 hotels for one night! ( I wonder if our bags missed us? Lol) anyway, our hotel was about all there was around us and ever time I googled "auto repair near me" it gave me Lafayette ( which was 49 miles away & the truck squealed & popped like the wheels were coming off! I googled again & it gave me Spring Texas accidentally assuming " near me" meant I was at home...in Spring Texas ...so Google accidentally gave me " Eagle Auto..." Jeff let me know I was too far for them when I gave him the hotel's address! I had no idea he was in Spring! That would usually be the end of the call right? Not so with Jeff.. he found a five star shop...five minutes away....by using his computer to help me out. The shop was great to us ...good price good work...friendly service....and quick enough for us to get back to our other hotel before the check out deadline for another night for our bags, lol. Thanks to Jeff, a horrible experience turned into a thankful one. He really went the extra mile for complete strangers and non- customers. I thought that's high but I needed it done especially the air fixed three weeks went by he called told me it's ready so I went to get my truck and when I arrived he said I had to do some other work your balance is 2.400 I had already give this conman 2.500 Did not even put an air conditioning in or tuneup on the carburetor broke down the next day I believe this dude was trying to keep my truck believing I wouldn't have the money to pay that extra he came up with Kept saying wanting to argue "You never talked to me about an air conditioning. Having a fence around his shop holding your truck hostage for even more money if you do not pay He wanted to keep my truck. He has unfinished cars just setting around Now I know how he got them. He's no real character from the true north side. He's got dementia It cost me a lot learning this lesson. I really hope taking the time to warn others will help This man may have once been a straight up man. But now hes he's sick living off his old reputation. Be careful

Allen only had 2 jobs to do to my 1989 Pontiac Safari Station Wagon- Fix a fuel leak, and retrofit…read moremy A/C system from R-12 to R-134a. Both jobs he totally fucked up and charged me over $1000.00 in repairs (usually means GOTCHA sucker!). The biggest complaint I have is that there is no way to contact this man. When you call the number, it goes to voice mail or his wife answers. The second biggest complaint I have is that he left my car outdoor in the elements and it has a leak in the weather stripping. Thankfully my cars interior is safe. Now let's talk about the repair work starting with the A/C. He DID install the fittings for R-134a on the system. But all he did was add R-134a Freon and didn't evacuate or flush out the system. This caused white fog to come out of my vents and freeze up the evaporator. Now on to the fuel leak. The fuel leak was coming from the fuel pump and part of the carburetor. He replaced the fuel pump, did something to the carburetor and removed the EGR valve stating the car really does not need it. I took it home. Car stalled every time I let go of the accelerator. Took it back. He replaced the fuel pump again claiming it was defective. Took it home. It still stalled but only once you stop. He claimed the fuel pump was correct but was pumping too much fuel. So a 3rd fuel pump was installed and this time he installed some sort of regulator on the pump. Took car home still stalled. That's 3 strikes. I'M DONE! I found a mechanic in Houston that works on classic cars and even has the books on all makes and models. He had the repair book for my car. During his scans, this is what he found- WRONG fuel pump. Broken gasket on carburetor from when Allen messed with it, and carburetor was not bolted properly nor was it adjusted properly. And the EGR valve NEVER should have been removed!! So the new mechanics removed the fuel pump and that god awful regulator which was doing more harm then good and installed the CORRECT fuel pump. They replaced the broken gasket on the carburetor and properly adjusted it and replaced the EGR valve. NOW it runs like a new car and runs just like it did BEFORE it was given to Allen. The new mechanics also evacuated the A/C and flushed it out. Then recharged it. Now it blows ice cold and NO MORE FOG. And NO MORE FUEL LEAKS. Please read this review and take my advice- STAY AWAY from S&S carburetors. Allen is nice to talk too. But he's a VERY lousy mechanic!!!

I'm still amazed at the flaweless results. Cody was also easy to reach - I had been looking up PDR and was in the neighborhood of his shop. He gave me a detailed explanation of what needed to be done and a written quote. In addition he had someone that could fix a scraped up wheel - also perfectly. He did a great job when he said he'd do it at the price he quoted.
