I showed up stressed out after dealing with an oil pressure issue overnight on my Ram 1500. I got there right at 7:30 when they opened, and before I could even finish parking, a guy named Elijah comes walking straight out with a smile, like he's been waiting for me all morning. I told him what was going on, oil pressure all over the place, worried it was something serious, and he just said, "Don't worry, man. We'll take care of you." And he actually meant it. No corporate script, no fake friendliness, just a guy who clearly knows cars and actually gives a damn. He walked me through everything, what oil they use, why they use it, what filter they were putting on, even checked my air filter and fluids without once trying to upsell me like every other oil place on earth. (You know the kind, the ones who act like your transmission's about to explode if you don't buy their $79.99 "Performance Package.") Not here. Elijah showed me my air filter, topped off my coolant and wiper fluid, and didn't try to sell me anything unnecessary. In fact, he was so genuine that when he mentioned wiper blades, which I actually needed, I bought them without hesitation. That's how you know a guy's honest, when you want to spend money with him. The shop itself is small from the outside, but don't let that fool you, they've got serious equipment and even better attitudes. It's clean, organized, and clearly run by people who take pride in what they do. I'm not even from Houston (I'm up in Dallas), but after this experience, I might just start timing my oil changes for when I'm down here on business. Seriously. I was going to go to Take 5 down the street, but the reviews there read like a horror story, people claiming they didn't even change the oil, just topped it off. Dodged a bullet. Elijah, man, you crushed it. You made what's usually a chore feel like catching up with a friend who happens to be really good at cars. You deserve a raise, a trophy, and possibly your own Netflix show called "The Oil Whisperer." So yeah, if you're anywhere near Houston, skip the chain shops and go to Costa Oil. Ask for Elijah. You'll leave with fresh oil, a clean conscience, and the strange feeling that getting an oil change can actually be... enjoyable.

I ended up paying a little over $1200 for the diagnosis which also included a charge of $250 for spark plugs, $250 for radiator coolant flush and $250 for brake fluid flush. The technicians diagnosed the problem as a knock and I needed to replace the engine but with nothing to back up their diagnosis. I went to another shop and got the same diagnosis, again, with the same diagnosis and nothing to back up or guide me to the problem. Finally, I called Angel Car Medic (via Yelp) and got a very detailed diagnostic report including cylinder pressures. They pulled the spark plugs and showed me how bad they were - even after just being replaced. Long story short, the diagnosis Christian Brothers provided was correct but they charged way too much for the other services. I was so stupid to select them for this!

Not a single technician inspected my truck. Staff offered vague excuses and zero updates while servicing walk-ins ahead of me. This is blatant disrespect for customers' time. Their "Christian values" of integrity, transparency and excellence? Total hypocrisy. I walked out without letting them touch my vehicle and will NEVER return or support this business. If I could leave zero stars, I would. Save yourself the frustration--go anywhere else. No one should waste their time here.

Showed up at 8:55am for my online appointment and Jerry greeted me at 9 promptly getting right to work. Chatted with some other long time customers in the waiting area and heard nothing great things about their experiences. I told Jerry what I was looking to get done and he was very straightforward and honest in letting me know what they were going to look at and even doing a walkthrough with me of their findings and suggestions. After talking it over with him a bit, ended up getting new pads, rotors machined, new calipers, alignment done (lifetime warranty), as well as take advantage of their oil change coupon book from the holidays (4 for the price of 3). He walked me over to their computer and showed him adding in the individual services and applying the applicable discount at the time (online appointment is a MUST!) so everything was as transparent as possible. The initial diagnosis seemed to be positive news, however after testing the issue worsened. I was told they needed to wait until Monday to service the vehicle. At the time my frustration was high because I simply wanted to get home as soon as I could. After waiting another night I went back to the shop where they spent majority of the morning and into the afternoon doing whatever they could to get my car running. Unfortunately, it was an issue they could not diagnose and recommended I take it to my local dealership. I was pissed, solely off of the troubles I had getting home and the money I thought I wasted. An extra day and a half in Houston and down over a grand. What makes this place a 5 star is based off the fact that I was never invoiced for the work they did. They let me off scotch free since there was nothing they could do. You don't often see that from auto shops and for me to save around $1200 on this made my car problems nowhere near as bad as I thought they'd be. These guys recognized what they did was a lost cause and showed empathy towards me and my troubles, saving me money in a time of need. There are two firestones for the woodlands part of I45, the one up by the Walmart on the southbound frontage road, and this one just north of the Raeford Road exit on the northbound frontage road. This is the northbound one. That does put it on the "other side of the tracks" -- the Shenandoah rather than the Woodlands side of the freeway. Undoubtedly, this is a more working-class neighborhood--Mexican meat market, a tattoo place, and a Mexican restaurant share the strip mall. But the crew is better. The people are better than the Woodlands location. The place is run by an African American gentleman who probably opened the place--seems to have been there forever, and his crew are all experienced mechanics. He went above and beyond calling other firestones to track down my truck's lifetime alignment, suggested the coupons for discounts and they really did me right on the tires, mounting and balancing, and alignment--I watched them through the big plate glass windows. These aren't high school kids, they are 20-year-old men. That says something about the manager and the culture. I have never had a better experience at a Firestone, and now I cross the tracks every time to use these guys.
