I was looking to head on a 4 hour trip leaving Sunday. My car went out on 45 and I had no other option but to take my car to Firestone to be worked on in hopes that I would be able to get back on the road. The initial diagnosis seemed to be positive news, however after testing the issue worsened. I was told they needed to wait until Monday to service the vehicle. At the time my frustration was high because I simply wanted to get home as soon as I could. After waiting another night I went back to the shop where they spent majority of the morning and into the afternoon doing whatever they could to get my car running. Unfortunately, it was an issue they could not diagnose and recommended I take it to my local dealership. I was pissed, solely off of the troubles I had getting home and the money I thought I wasted. An extra day and a half in Houston and down over a grand. What makes this place a 5 star is based off the fact that I was never invoiced for the work they did. They let me off scotch free since there was nothing they could do. You don't often see that from auto shops and for me to save around $1200 on this made my car problems nowhere near as bad as I thought they'd be. These guys recognized what they did was a lost cause and showed empathy towards me and my troubles, saving me money in a time of need. I think these guys have been review-bombed, because in my experience they are great, and this location is my new favorite tire place. There are two firestones for the woodlands part of I45, the one up by the Walmart on the southbound frontage road, and this one just north of the Raeford Road exit on the northbound frontage road. This is the northbound one. That does put it on the "other side of the tracks" -- the Shenandoah rather than the Woodlands side of the freeway. Undoubtedly, this is a more working-class neighborhood--Mexican meat market, a tattoo place, and a Mexican restaurant share the strip mall. But the crew is better. The people are better than the Woodlands location. The place is run by an African American gentleman who probably opened the place--seems to have been there forever, and his crew are all experienced mechanics. He went above and beyond calling other firestones to track down my truck's lifetime alignment, suggested the coupons for discounts and they really did me right on the tires, mounting and balancing, and alignment--I watched them through the big plate glass windows. These aren't high school kids, they are 20-year-old men. That says something about the manager and the culture. I have never had a better experience at a Firestone, and now I cross the tracks every time to use these guys. read more

First, let me start off by saying that I downloaded this app to leave this exact review. I scheduled an appointment for an alignment at 2pm. I walk in. What's that? Someone else has an appointment at 2pm? Ok weird I'll be the bigger person and wait. After waiting a hour and a half!!! The alignment tech goes out to my truck but only to come back and say that it won't work... I ask why and he gives me the excuse that it's too big to go on the rack (I've had it aligned 10+ at this exact location) he then gives me attitude and says that he's not jumping into it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE! I took my Nissan here because my check engine and traction lights were both on. They determined it was the MAF sensor, and I got it replaced for several hundred dollars. A couple weeks later, my car wouldn't start and the lights can back on. They determined it was a faulty MAF sensor so they replaced it free of charge. Not so bad, but the very next day my car completely stalled out in the middle of the road and had to have it towed at my own expense. They cleaned and relearned my throttle body free of charge which I appreciated. However, my cars accelerator feels different, so I took it back and the guy test drove it and only gave a visual inspection and told me it was the transmission. LAZY. Livid, I took it to a different shop where they determined that all I needed was a ECM software update, which they did. The guys at the other shop said that Firestone should've done this after replacing my sensor. You would think they would know something like this!! My car isn't "unsafe" but the gas pedal still feels different which makes me uncomfortable. DO NOT COME HERE FOR YOUR CAR REPAIRS!! They will for sure cause other problems!! Go to an independent and more experienced shop. read more

So, I understand that we live in a Covid world. With that being said good service is still good service, and when I see someone receiving bad service I can't help but notice and try to speak up. I had a blow out yesterday on 45 and got here early to get a new set of tires put on. I noticed there were two people here, a guy (cowboy looking) and a young woman. She was sitting patiently and quietly. I figured she had a lot going on because the guy had come and gone. Turns out she was the first person here and just needed an oil change, rotation and an alignment. All of which don't take over an hour to complete. She was the first one here and wasn't given priority. She's still waiting. I was the 3rd person here and my car is inside. 20 minutes ago they said she'd be done in 10 minutes. This isn't right. I bought the lifetime alignment from Firestone, because it's a good deal. This is the only location that has tried to charge me an additional $100 to perform the alignment. With only my car in the bay at the time and no one in their lobby waiting at 930AM on a Tuesday, I was also able to witness a young woman request an oil change and to replace a brake light bulb on her Mazda. The guy behind the counter said they wouldn't be able to get it done quickly and that she would need to come back tomorrow. Would not recommend for any tire services. Brought in my vehicle with a nail in the tire. I was told ~45 mins to have me in/out. During the first 60 minutes I waited in the store, I heard the service desk gentleman tell 3 other customers they couldn't patch or plug the tire and the tire needed replacement. Another 60 minutes later, my tire was checked, they said it couldn't be repaired and I needed a new one (there was a similar style in stock) for over $400. I went somewhere else. My tire was plugged and it was all free (saved $400), no issues at all. Shady service, just looking to overcharge, will never use again. read more

Took my car to get a brake inspection and service already knowing what my car needed to get done. This location tried to charge me over $500 which is over $100 more than it would have cost at the actual Nissan dealership. I don't know if they tried to overcharge me this much because I was a female but I was not going for it. When I came to pick up my car I vocalized that it is ridiculous to be charging more than dealerships for a service that I know does not cost that much to perform. The guy at the counter price matched me so I ended up paying slightly less than I would going to the dealership. I took my flat tire to Firestone to get patched and was turned away. It was on a Saturday an hour before closing. I met a rude man at this Firestone location that seemed to be the manager for the late shift that day, August 1, 2020. I told him I had a flat and that it was an emergency and needed to get it fixed. He said he didn't have any worker available to do it since the workers he had were completing other jobs that they needed to finish that night and turned me away. I asked him to please help me since it still an hour before closing but he still said he couldn't. I ended up leaving and found another Firestone that was open and was about 15 minutes away. They were busy too but took 10 minutes to fix my flat. Worst business I've ever been to for service. Took car in on Saturday for alignment, said they couldn't do it do to a bad tire and technician says whole right side of car is "loose", charge me $124.99 to do nothing. Go new front tires and check right side of car, nothing loose. Reschedule alignment since I already paid for one, get there and same thing, loose parts can't align. I ask the customer service rep if the tech can point out the loose parts so I can take car of it. We go into the shop and the alignment tech Alan completely looses his mind, asking me if I'm F'n stupid, do I understand English, completely acting a fool of himself and we have a full blown argument in the middle of the shop over me asking to see what's loose on my car. This man had a full blown child temper tantrum over 1 nut not being tight, on the left side, not even the side I was told. All this lazy fool had to do was tighten the 1 nut and do the alignment, instead has a shouting match with the customer for asking a question, acting like a complete a-hole. Don't get ripped off! It can be frustrating choosing a place to take your car. Will they overcharge? Will they try to sell you something you don't need? Will they lie? Well this place will. I had a leak in my tire do I stopped to have it fixed. I had previously had the leak in the same tire which had been repaired. They told me that if it was leaking from the patch I would need a new tire. I knew this to be false. I waited for the verdict and after inspecting in the told me it was leaking from the patch. They said my tire was unrepairable and that I would indeed need to purchase a new tire. I decided to take my car elsewhere. After taking it to a new tire shop, it turns out that not only was it not unrepairable, but it also wasn't leaking from the patch. There was a nail in my tire. After a few minutes and $15 I was back on the road. Its so nice, to find a shop thats not looking to rip you off. read more

Went in to get a timing belt replaced on my Toyota Camry. Learned that it's good practice to have a few other items replaced at the same time. I had to pay about $1,000 for this, which seemed a little on the high side, but I was already without a car, and none of the other shops I heard of were open. I got a surprisingly rapid turnaround (same day). The only thing really lacking was the part where you have a conversation with the guy at the counter. I felt like a number, and that my questions were an annoyance to them. Just a little more personal time and an explanation of what they were wanting to do would have gone a long way. read more

As I was driving home I decided to check and see if any oil change shops were still open, fortunately some of the bigger names were, like Firestone. By the way? Yelp has the wrong pin location, it's the northbound side of 45, passed Rayford. Just walked in at 6:30, I asked for an oil change. I was told "I can't do it, you didn't make an appointment and I have a few cars in right now". Most of the bays were empty. I simply left, when I was asked if I'd want to make an appointment my response was "I wanted one while on my way home" & his was "we close in 20 mins anyway"...actually you're 10 mins off there pal and that's irrelevant. I get it, it's almost closing time but the hours clearly state that it's open until 7pm & an oil change doesn't take that long. It's really a hit and miss with this location. Today I came in for an alignment, tire balance, and AC check. When I left the location I heard an odd vibration of the tires. Needing to get back to work and not wanting to overreact. I waited until after work to drive home. The vibration continued to worsen so I decided to stop at a closer location to home. My wheels are staggered and lo and behold the technician put the rear ones in front and the front ones in the rear. This is basic tire knowledge. Not honest, not even close. Went in for a slow leaking tire. Got a call that they couldn't patch the tire because they had record of when I bought it and it was too old. They said it was $69 a tire to replace. They also said the alignment was shot and that I needed new brakes. I asked how much the brakes were, he said $180... Basically twice what anyone else would charge. I passed on that one. I mentioned someone had told me there was uneven wear but that getting the alignment fixed wouldn't help. I had heard that I needed to replace several expensive components to get it back into spec. Their guy said that was incorrect, and that he could get me straight for $90. I said cool, go for it. When I get there the bill was $330. I asked how 2 tires at $69 each and a $90 alignment ended up at $330... They explained that there were some other fees they tacked on but decided not to mention in our original conversation. Grrr. But ok fine. So I ask for the alignment report, sure enough, still some specs that are way out of tolerance. The alignment I paid for basically did nothing for me, as I originally thought and as I explained to their pushy salesman. So then, I go out to my car and see that the two tires they replaced aren't even the two tires they had record of me buying there. They probably could have patched the damn thing. If any one of these had happened I'd be mad, but all this stacked together shows they aren't even trying to run an honest business. This place is a scam. Avoid. read more

Came here to get a new tire after a blow out. After they installed it, I was told the tire pressure was the same all around. Went to my mechanic today as my steering was pulling (mind you I had just gotten an alignment done) and was informed that my new tire that Firestone installed had 42 pounds of air when all the others had 37. All of this was causing the steering to pull. Had I not gone and checked out this situation, who knows how bad it would've been. Unfortunately I was in need of a tire and the closest thing to my location at the time of the blow out was Firestone. Never again will I do business here. read more

I always worry about a mechanic lying to me and trying to rip me off, and that summarizes my experience with this Firestone very accurately. I took my vehicle to them in May of 2015 to have them inspect my brakes and recharge my A/C. They told me that I needed to have my rotors and brake pads replaced and recommended several other add-on services, adding up a an $800 bill. I doubted the accuracy of their diagnosis and came in to take my vehicle to another auto shop for a second opinion. When I came in to retrieve my car, they informed that I didn't really need to have the add-on services, and reduced their estimate on the brakes & A/C so that the new total was about $600. Why overcharge me for services, and recommend other services, if I don't need them? I took my car to the Pep Boys down the street, and they told me that my rotors and brake pads did not need to be replaced, and they were able to resolve both my brake and A/C issues for $200. I have not experienced any issues since then, so I believe that Pep Boys provided me with good information. I would be very cautious about what information you receive from this location. Before moving to the area, I used Firestone many times with positive results, but I will certainly not be returning to this one. They are very friendly and courteous, but I now wonder if they're only doing so to get into my wallet. read more

I've come to firestone a few times but after today I will not return to this location thanks to Curtis. He was very rude and needs to work on his customer service skills. I came in around 2:30 for an oil change he told me it would be 2 hours, even though there was no one in the waiting area and they didn't seem busy. So I asked again about how long he told me it would be around 5 pm. He asked for my keys and I asked can I just make an appointment for the next few hours instead of waiting he told me they were all booked with appointments for the day, and if I leave I would lose my spot. So i waited and thought about it no more than 10 or 15 min later they were pulling my car in but I decided that because of his customer service delivery that I didn't want to spend my money there. I had to stop the guy from pulling my car in and explained to him the situation and to my surprise he agreed about Curtis being rude. Because of Curtis this location lost a customer. read more

The manager Brad was very nice as well and introduced himself to me and helped me find tires to fit my car. I fully trusted the services they recommended since they showed them all to me. They made a terrible day a wonderful one. I am a car idiot. So as a typical woman who never gets her oil change done, I finally go in. After my alignment and oil change, We discover a slew of very dangerous brake issues. My brake lines were bleeding and the brakes were about to go out any minute. Went in 1.5 weeks ago to get an oil change, state inspection and an issue with my door handle. No problems with the oil change and state inspection but they did't have the part for the door handle. It was a wednesday and they said you can bring the car back on saturday and we'll get it fixed. I couldn't make it for Saturday so I schedued an appointment for the following friday. When I arrived for the appointment today, they didn't have me in the system for an appointment and they didn't have the part! after taking apart my door they said, we can have the part here in 3 hours which meant 5 hours until my car was complete as they said it would take 2 hours to fix the door. Unfortunately, I had to pick my son up from school and couldn't wait 5 hours. So i booked it out now for 2 more weeks. :-( They FAIL in my book! No one called me to tell me they didn't have the part in for my appointment but then again they failed to schedule the appointment that I scheudled with them 1.5 weeks prior. Terrible follow up and terrile customer service! The same person who booked my appointment 1.5 weeks ago was the same person who helped me today. IDIOT! They acted as if people can just come in whenever and don't have to other appointments or things to do! At the end, they offered me a rental but at this point I'm just pissed they wasted my time I don't want to deal with them ever again! Most people work hard for the money they make, and it sucks when it has to be used to maintain your vehicle. But it's life. So, today, I figured I got some extra cash, let me put it towards the upkeep of my truck and get my much needed alignment done, it was pulling hard the right. My front tires had substantial uneven tread, but I had them reversed so I could extend their life before I went into the Firestone. From the beginning, Kris was spacey, he was there but it was like he didn't want to be, I told him that I knew my tires were needing replaced but I couldn't afford to buy new ones at the moment. I sat down, expected to wait an hour, but in fifteen minutes it was on the lift. Cool, now to keep watching "American Pickers" on the TV. When I looked outside, fifteen minutes, truck was done and I went up to the counter. First off, the "Master" mechanic didn't even take my truck for a short spin to feel the truck out and see what or where the trouble may be before or after the alignment. Which seems pretty substantial if you're considered a master. I knew nothing was done to my truck other than "tightening the wing nuts to balance the toe" which Kris mentioned. So I payed, left, and tested the truck myself. Nothing, not an incremental amount changed to the pull to the right side. Yeah, okay, my tires were uneven, which could cause some extra pull, but if the the alignment was done properly, I would have to have noticed even small change. I walked right back in there and told this to Kris. Which of course he said it was the tires, as well as the man that was asked to help Kris. Immediately after I denied the fact that my tires could cause that pull after a proper alignment, he, the man above Kris's pay scale, offered me a refund! Disgusting. He didn't care one bit. They all knew that nothing was properly aligned and immediately wanted to resolve the situation by just giving me my money back. I refused at first, I really just wanted my truck fixed I told them. But he came back with the same offer and I accepted, which was cool, but I'm my eyes, they are ALL lousy mechanics. Working just for a paycheck. I'm a very friendly person, and when I get bad vibes from an entire group of "qualified" technicians, I just wanted to leave. And I did, actually thanking them before I left. It's done and over now, I'm glad to have my money back, but they deserve "0" stars.. I just wanted to share my experience to someone before they chose to come to this place. read more
