I came here right after work to get an oil change. I got that at 6:40. By the time they got to me and pulled me in (6:50) suddenly they had "run out" of oil filters. Franklin said this. The other guy seemed to looked surprised when he said this and started laughing. I asked if closing time had anything to do with "the sudden shortage", he caught an attitude and said well I can check again. I said no thank you. I've been coming here for YEARS! I work retail. Changing the oil in your vehicle at recommended intervals is an important part of properly maintaining your engine. But being well informed about the recommended intervals for oil changes is important to your pocketbook. I give Valvoline high marks (5 stars) for the quality of their products and their service, but only 1 star for the honesty of their marketing tactics. I recently took my car to a Valvoline shop for an oil change. They replaced my oil with their top of the line, full synthetic oil. The cost of the oil replacement for my car came to $99 + tax. I always use full synthetic, top grade motor oil in my cars regardless of where I go for an oil change. The price at Valvoline was about what I have come to expect. What I didn't expect, is that the recommended mileage interval for my car's next oil change was only 3,000 miles. My car's manual recommends oil changes every 10,000 miles or 12 months (whichever limit is reached first) if a high quality full synthetic oil is used. No other brand of oil change shops has ever recommended an oil change after only 3,000 miles least of all when using top shelf synthetic oil. When I questioned this recommendation, I was told that a 3,000 mile interval was Valvoline's recommended interval for the next oil change, even when using a top quality (and more expensive) synthetic motor oil. Naturally, I questioned why the competition does not recommend such frequent oil changes, and wondered whether the Valvoline synthetic motor oil was inferior to the competition and, hence, needed to be replaced more frequently. They were stumped for a good answer but finally said that's what the their company recommends. I think we all understand why Valvoline wants you to come back for another oil change every 3,000 miles. Now I'm spending two days of my personal time trying to get it fixed. Yes, they'll pay for it but it's my personal time away from work. I would not go here. The follow up was non existence!! This was a very easy and quick inspection. I've had to wait about 2hrs at other places just to have it done and 15 -20 minutes was a breeze. Ok, truth be told, I did come right after a down pour and it was about 10am, but from what I was told I missed the rush earlier. The guys there are really personable and friendly. I needed an oil change and my regular location was unable to accommodate me. I went to this location on Loop 336 S. in Conroe Texas by the Grand Central community. I had the most amazing experience due to Isaiah and Shawna. I was in a situation where I needed to ensure my vehicle was properly maintained it to possibly travel from Conroe Texas to Austin Texas for a family member who was in a medical situation. I was concerned about my family member and was discussing the situation with Isaiah and Shawna as they were changing my oil. To say that I received phenomenal customer service is almost insulting to these two. Isaiah in particular spoke with me at length while standing in the rain as I was leaving and had pulled out of the bay. I don't know his daily abilities but to say that this man deserves to be management is on point. He lifted my spirits he joked he showed genuine compassion this was not something fake. You could tell every word he said he spoke from the heart. Shawna was also very compassionate and kind. But Isaiah was on a completely different level! He is in his mid-20s and to see a man that Young speak to somebody that's almost 50 years old the way he did shows incredible compassion and love for the human race. If I could give him $1 million I would do it! He is the epitome of customer service kindness love and what everyone in this world should be. It is rare in this world we live in to find someone who takes time from their day to try to make your day better. I was so impressed by him. His parents did an amazing job raising that young man! If you're looking for a new oil place this is definitely where you should go. Went to Vavoline Oil station on Conroe hwy105 by the lake. I got oil changed there a couple of months ago and I noticed oil on floor under my car and looked under car and oil filter was dripping oil so I went back there and told them I needed them to tighten oil filter it was leaking and they were the one that put it on so they told me I would have to get in line and wait my turn and all three bays were full so they told me to wait in parking spot till they called me so I waited about 25 minutes then they told me to pull up behind car in line 1 then I sat there about 10 more minutes when they finished that car then when that car pulled out they motioned me to pull in then half way in they tell me that I have to back out because guy in line 3 was there first and I told him it will take longer for me to back out and him to move from line 3 to 1 all they had to do was tighten filter I didn't want to wait another 35 or 45 minutes that it would just take 2 minutes tighten filter Iand I would be gone but know you have to wait is what management said so I told them that was a shitty way to do business and if they had done it right to begin with I would not be there so I was post and just left and went to Jiffy Lube and guy got me in and out in under 5 mi and he told me filter was so loose he was surprised it didn't blow out .Looks like I will be using Jiffy Lube from now on . read more
