I had couple accidents in my life time and been to couple body shops, I've decided to come here because of the rave reviews, but I was so wrong. Maybe I just had a bad rep. (Alan)? Don't know but I will not recommend or bring my vehicle back here again. I guess if you have minor damage it will be ok but for major damage where they have to disconnect any electrical component or remove your bumper with parking sensors, DO NOT BRING IT HERE!. I had major damage to my minivan where someone ran a red light and T-Bone me. This require repair for the sliding door, driver door, frame and paint. The estimate was about $5300 and the final cost when I pick up the van was $7000.
Pro:
My first impression of the place is high when I first arrive, the receptionist was really nice and friendly, the office space is nice and clean. The store front is small but they have many buildings within several blocks that they do repairs. They do have courtesy pick up and drop off which is really cool. So that give them the one star.
Cons:
1. So when you agree and sign for the repair, they ask how often you want to be notified of the status of your repair, so i just said once a week since Alan told me it's only going to take about 1.5 weeks. Well, it ended up taking 3 weeks and not once did he call to give me status. The only time he calls is when I called him and he is not available and had to call me back.
2. I discussed with Alan at the beginning about the rust and minor ding on my fender and if he will fixed that since he is going to paint the whole side of the van. He said yes because it is just obvious that if you're going to paint over rust that you have to remove the rust before painting. Well, that did not happen. They did not remove the ding and the rust, they did not even paint the fender, they just clear coat over the ding and the rust. I know they did not paint the fender because I can see the rust with new clear coat over it. If they painted the fender, the paint would of cover the rust. When I ask Alan what happen, he just said he forgot about it. WOW. Even if you forgot, wouldn't your technician ask or mention that to you.
3. I found out that one of my foglight was not working and thought the bulb burn out so when I remove the foglight, the wires were mickymouse together, lucky they did not short circuit my system. I am pretty handy so I just re-wire it. I did call the shop back and was told that they had to remove my bumper so they can paint the fender, (which they did not).
4. Later I notice that my parking sensor was not working and saw that they had turn the sensor off. So I turn it back on and the the dash light came on showing sensor failure. All my sensor was working fine when I brought it in and now it does not work when I pick up the van. So to expedite the repair process, I google to see what the problem was. It pointed me to one defected sensor. I call the shop and told them what happen and brought the van back for them to check out and repair. Since they had to remove my bumper, they might accidentally damage the sensor. They did admit that they had to remove the bumper and dis-connect the sensor but they will not pay for the damage done to my sensor. They said if I want to fix the sensor that I have to split 50% of the cost. I was speechless. They damage my sensor and now I have to pay to have it fix. I told Alan to talk to the owner about this and he said he will check with the owner to see what he can do, this is about 9:30 am, Alan call me back at 5pm after speaking with the owner and said I have to pay 50% to have it fix. I was so mad I told him forget it, I will just pick up the van first thing in the morning. It took him all day for that reply.
5. I have fenders and door trim that was removed for painting. I told Alan that the trim was missing, he said, Oh, they forgot. So he had to order the trims for me. Alan seems to be a nice guy when I talk to him but it seems like he only follow though half of what we talk about and forget the other half. It's just too bad.
Conclusion:
I wish I had better experience at this place but it turn out horrible. Maybe this place is good for minor repair and not major repairs. So many things went wrong. I would not recommend bringing your vehicle here. Choose a different one from your insurance carrier! read more
