I was rear ended at a stop light and suffered major damage to the rear of my Subaru Forester. The other driver was at fault and we both have the same insurance company. Fix Auto took full charge of the repair process and insurance communication. What a relief!! They arranged to have Enterprise Car Rental in Alameda pick me up at Fix Auto and set me up with a rental car during the duration of the repair process. It took a month to get insurance approval for the repair, and to get the parts needed. But I was kept updated, by Jose on the process. When a glitch occurred re: extending the rental car lease, Jose handled that with the insurance company. Considering the nature of the entire experience, which was stressful to say the least, I felt at ease with Jose and Fix Auto the entire time. And now I have my repaired car back. Out of the bat they knew what to do just with our documents and identification they know what is the process with a couple of questions they want to know and you're set. They're very good on communication and how your vehicle is doing. The pick up process was simple and easy. All they wanted to know was last name and model and make of car. Today I just my car back after a month later. While I was waiting for someone to help me get my car. I notice a staff at the corner was vaping inside the building she did not notice that a customer I was watching her. This is not right for a staff be smoking/vaping inside the building. After a few minutes later when I got my car I notice that my car was a mess inside. Didn't my item from inside was move around like the passenger seat was Leaning all the way back and some other items. My sister notice that there was a gallon of water in the back seat. I went back to the shop and spoke the person in charger. She ask me if the gallon of was mine . I said "no" I just got my car just 5 minutes car and did not notice this until my sister saw it. It seem like she did not care at all. Paint in my car was coming of from the front I show it to her and she told me this how the car came when I brought it in. She said " when a bird poops in your car and leave it for a long time the paint will wash off" I told her no this was not there when I brought the car to the shop I did not see this spot of the front of my car coming off" she them told me to come inside and she will show proof of picture that they took when they were fixing car. I was not happy with the services of this shop never again coming here again. They told me it was going to take 2 to 3 weeks and they had all the parts ready for my car. I had a great experience with Fix Auto. I brought in my car for an estimate after I broke my spoiler off, and Ricky had the technicians take a look. The estimate to replace my spoiler was $1.4k, but because they wanted me to be able to drive the car back home safely, they helped me screw in the spoiler with extra clips they had, free of charge. I'll have to replace it eventually because the windshield wiper fluid is still disconnected, but for now I am very satisfied and it saved me $1.4k. Amazing service and staff! read more

I can't recommend Fix Auto Alameda enough and they've just won over my business for all future auto repairs. Save yourself the time and trouble of getting ripped off by other auto repair spots and head straight here. They're honest professionals that deserve to be supported! It was the last of 3 places I was getting quotes from for a broken side mirror cap that popped off when I hit a garbage can while backing out of my garage. I could have easily glued/taped it back on myself since it was still functioning fine, but I didn't feel confident to DIY this type of job. The first place I brought it to quoted me over $1,500. Outrageous! They wanted to replace the entire mirror. The second place suggested a replacement cap... better, but I knew they still wanted to get a few hundred out of me. My wife's AUDI was hit while parked - hit-and-run while parked. We decided to have the car repaired here as they took our insurance. Foundation. I'm a boomer and in the 70s and 80s, my brother was trained in auto body at trade school and we painted a few cars, motorcycles and bicycles. The short of this is that paint will not stick to a shiny surface, so you always scuff and prime. The metal body work was perfect. However, the front bumper had multiple issues. First, the little decorative air scoops fell of when I washed the car. The new bumper did not have screw holes for the parts, so I drilled holes and put my own screws in. The second issue was the paint did not stick to the replacement bumper. The new shops buy these bumpers for $150 and they are supposed to be pre-primed. If you do not 'scuff' them, the paint does not stick. Yes, I went back. The guy said they repaired only the left side - which is peeling in this photo. I bought a new bumper for $200 and will have it painted soon for another $300 and do it right. Yes, intentionally I waited years to post my pictures because I knew how bad it was going to look. The first peeling was too early and to a novice looked like road damage. read more

I brushed the passenger side of our Subaru against a post as I was turning into a tight parking space so the door had to be removed and replaced, then painted. At first I submitted photos for an email estimate, but when I took it in, Kyle reduced the estimate. After the work was finished, the actual price was even a little lower because they had found a Subaru door at a cheaper supplier. Kyle was great at keeping us informed of the progress, at least every other day. We got the car back on Tuesday and it looks like new! read more

I took my 2011 Prius to Arthur and Gio at Fix Auto recently. I had a gaping hole in the front bumper. They changed the bumper and painted it very well to look exactly same as the car. Apparently as the car was being moved from one to the other space in the workshop, their mechanic ended up scratching the backdoor. Gio and Arthur spoke to me and apologized for the same. They took two additional days and fixed it very well. In fact, they even fixed a few old scratches on the body during those two additional days. They are pretty busy. One thing they can perhaps do better is to call the customers back with timely updates. read more

Worst customer service ever. Had an appointment set at 10am. Arrived exactly at 10am. The receptionist told us that the person who was going to help us was in a meeting. She advised us to sit in the waiting area and he would be with us shortly. We sat there for 40 minutes. We were not helped further and were not advised of anything. We had an appointment. My car was dropped off on June 11th for damage from a deer and for a stolen catalytic converter among a few other collateral repairs. This was a Geico Claim. As far as I know things are went well with those repairs but the car was running a little rough on my way home. I am having my car evaluated by a AAA shop to check their work. I am very skeptical. I'll update the shops evaluation when I get my car back. When I picked up the car from Fix the key would not turn. It took me and an associate a few minutes to get it to turn over. I tried then he tried and it worked. Then I drove ten minutes to a grocery store. It took me an additional 20 minutes to get it to turn over again. Once I got home I tried to turn it over and nothing happened. In a very nice way they are claiming that this is not their problem. I highly object as this was not a problem when it is dropped off. Additionally, my jack and my tire cover are missing. They claimed it wasn't on the car on the way in. I have a picture attached to prove them wrong at least I have a pic of the tire cover as the car was towed from my house. I caught them in a lie regarding my tire cover. read more

I'm wavering between giving this place 3 or 4 stars - maybe a generous 4. My car was recently rear ended, and fortunately, only resulted with a broken tail light and cosmetically damaged bumper. Once I filed the claim, I decided to bring it to FixAuto for their reviews. At the time of the appointment, I was greeted immediately by Gio and the rental car service. Gio inspected it fairly quickly, and gave me an accurate estimate that the tail light would be replaced, but not the bumper unless the tabs attaching them to the rest of the body were damaged. Gio was fairly communicative as far as updating me on the status of my car. You'd think having the tail light done would be fairly quick, but it took up to a week because the tail light arrived damaged not once, but twice. Once my car was finally returned to me, it looked great - tail light fixed, the car's interior was clean and exterior waxed (?) My only qualms were with the length of time it took to complete the task when I've had more work done within a shorter time frame of three days and their method of communication isn't exactly efficient as it's through a computer service. read more

Wow very impressed with my first time using Fix Auto. It's a little bit of a drive for me from Berkeley, but my insurance (State Farm) has them as one of their approved paces after an accident. I was sad because I was supposed to get my car done on Friday but it got pushed to Tuesday because of parts delays. My experience with Fix Auto Alameda has been nothing but outstanding from start to finish. They have a modern spacious new facility located on Clement Street that is very well equipped and staffed. Ricky was my contact person, who is very professional , organized, friendly, an absolute pleasure to work with. He did the estimate for my honda fit which sustained damage due to collision with a Rav4 on the Nimitz. Damage was to my front bumper, hood, and internal framing and components, which was knocked out of alignment. They were very busy when i took my car in, but within a very reasonable time, Ricky had emailed back to me a detailed estimate item by item breakdown on parts, and labor that needed to be done. During the repair process, Ricky kept me well informed by text every couple days on the progress of the repair. Any delays due to parts availability or additonal damage found he relayed to me by text. I received my vehicle back yesterday as promised, and it looks as beautiful as the day i bought it back in 2016. Their work is absolutely first rate, the panel alignment especially around the hood and side panel is as straight as an arrow. One added advantage of their current location, is that they are located within two blocks of "Enterprise Rental Car" located on Blanding Ave. which makes it super convenient to pickup and dropoff my rental.
