IPhone 17 Pro Max - Screen and back repair…read more Accidentally dropped a weight on my phone and had to get it repaired. Screen was cracked, back glass was cracked and frame was a but dented. Came across Smart Fix and was bit skeptical but reached out. I was able to get immediate response back and he was very transparent on his work. Due to the recent model of the phone, OEM screen sales were just not worth it due to the price and labor cost. basically paying half of the price of what I paid for the phone and thats not including the back glass. So I settled with a soft OLED aftermarket screen for a fraction of it. Pricing to fix both the front screen and back was half the price of what I would pay for a OEM screen alone not including labor fee. After installing, the aftermarket soft OLED. I haven't ran into any issues yet. Face Recognition works, no lags, no dead particles. The only noticeable change from OEM and aftermarket is the screen Bezel size which isn't a deal breaker for me. I watched him fix my phone and he ran through every step. I heard some reviews from other establishments being sneaky writing reviews on their business without the customers knowing or logging into your personal information and etc some horrifying things that invade your privacy. But with this establishment, he was kind and nice and did a great job! I will update after 3 months to see the progress of the screen.

I had a my LCD Screen replaced with a OEM part a few months ago but wanted a Original Apple LCD. Problem is Apple just doesn't sell the LCD Screen to the public, so you best case is to get a OEM version. Anyhow he eventually found a used Original Apple LCD for me and replaced it for me at not extra cost and gave me a free screen protector too. So i called this business to ask for an estimate for a screen replacement for galaxy they told me $150 which I figured was a good price since everywhere else they were charging me 250 + ... i was busy so I had my cousin drop off my phone to them. I had no phone so my cousin had no way of getting a hold of me but I guess he was told by the same person I spoke to on the phone that they would have to replace my frame with a black instead of violet which is the color of my phone. He insisted that the violet color was an extra $100 to order. Since I couldn't pay anymore than 150 my cousin left my phone to him anyway. My phone was done the next day and my phone looks terrible. It looks like 5 year old replaced my screen and to top it off there was a tiny chip on the screenn. Also the frame wasn't even glued down properly and it's coming out of place. The screen cracked because I tried to press down lightly to get the frame to snap back into place. The glass was not worth $150 it felt like cheap plastic that looks like glass. I was never even told that the screen wouldn't be fingerprint compatible. My phone stopped charging because this man told my friend to make sure to have the phone with a case because the frame and the back/battery were not properly installed. As of today my phone no longer charges and the screen won't turn on it's completely dark. Also when i turned my phone on some of the settings were changed which means they must've went thru my phone (we will get to that later) .... I contemplated a few days if I should go speak to this person and explain to him what happened he could maybe replace my screen and this time with the original colored frame without the extra charge instead as soon as I began explaining to him he cut me off and said there was nothing he can do and that they didn't do refunds I tried to tell him that I was told one thing and then was told another and that the quality of the screen he installed was not good. He lied and said he had told me over the phone that the screen was after market. He never mentioned any of this otherwise I wouldn't have gone to him. Why would I agree to pay that much money for a cheap ass screen and a different color frame. ? He kept saying that he had proof that he did inform me of this and he said he would pull up his landline to show me the phone call where he stated this. I told him I would love to hear it and then he begins to cuss me out telling me to get the fuck out of his store and as I'm walking out he begins to charge at me and tells me to come back and fight him. I was shocked I couldn't believe that this guy really was treating me this way because I questioned his work which was not worth the money I paid. Then as I'm driving home my phone that he fixed completely blocks my network and won't read my SIM card or eSIM. I can almost guarantee he had a way to access my phone and since he was mad he made sure I could never use my phone again. And if he did that to me I can only imagine how many people he has done this too. He probably stores everyone's data from their phone. To anyone thinking of going here please don't. These things are expensive, so I looked at repairing it versus replacing for a new iPad. While the Apple store will perform some work, they are closed during the pandemic, so I started Yelping alternatives. I contacted a phone service shop, and they explained the work required micro-soldering, which they don't do, but were nice enough to refer me to iTechCare. I contacted iTechCare and spoke with Xia. She is clearly very knowledgeable, and knew exactly what the work entailed. She made a recommendation on changing the battery since the case will be open, and the battery had a few years of charging cycles on it. I opted to just have the charging port replaced. I wanted to keep the time the iPad was away as short as possible, so I paid a deposit so the parts could be ordered. Then a couple of days later Xia notified me the parts were in, I dropped it off that evening, and she had it ready for pick up the next afternoon. Xia showed me photos of the old very-damaged charging port, which had several charging pins bent and some missing all together. It's been a couple of weeks now and the new charging port is still working flawlessly. Thank you!
