Definitely a brunch spot that many people visit morning/lunchtime. We ordered the Hollandberry Burger and swapped the fries for onion rings (+$2), and also got the Bacon Smoked Gouda Burger with regular fries. Both burgers were ordered medium rare, but the Smoked Gouda Burger came out closer to medium/well done, making it a bit dry. The service was a letdown. Water is served in small mason jars, and ours was never refilled until we requested water after being there for an hour. We also requested sauce. Both never arrived until our table asked for it a second time which took about 10 minutes later to get to us. To top it off, we were handed to go boxes while we were still eating. We realized a table nearby asked for boxes and had been waiting for it to leave. The experience felt a little disorganized. Would I come back? Maybe, but I'd probably skip the burgers and try one of the pannekoeken instead if I'm feeling something sweet, since that's what Hollandberry is really known for.

Went here to celebrate my anniversary with my wife. The food was delectable. Our favorite star of…read morethe show was the Duck Drummies, the sauce paired well with the meat. Just wanted a bit more sauce. The salmon was cooked well with a crispy skin underneath. Flavors played together nicely with the textures. We enjoyed the dessert as the textures (there's a theme here) had great interplay with the flavors in the dish. Only wish that pastry was hot. The ambience is nice and chill. It can feel a bit cramped but gives kinda a speakeasy vibe meets hipster. Note that finding parking is a bit challenging here. There are two booths on the window that would make excellent date spots. The reason for the rating is due to the service. I made a reservation for the spot and made reference to it being our anniversary. However, nothing was done to reference the reason for the dinner. I had never been there and didn't know about the booth availability. The place was busy but we didn't get much attention (menus were left on the table, didn't get small plates to eat the Drummies properly, got one refill of water toward the end, etc). I felt bad about this rating because I've read people enjoying the experience. However, this is what I experienced. The food is great. Service could be better.

Looks like they change the recipe throughout the seasons. Save room for dessert. We ordered the fresh baked cookies. Thats right, fresh baked cookies. Baked when you ordered them. Loved it! There was quite a lot to choose from, and it all sounded so good! We finally settled on the Cajun hash for savory; you need a sweet chaser - the caramel pecan French toast was going to do that job. It was a big effort getting pictures because they first thing I wanted to do when seeing these was to dig right in. The Cajun hash was PACKED with flavor. Each bite just as good as the last till it was all gone . Following up with the French toast was just so good. I'm typically conflicted when pecans are involved but there was no grey area here. I loved every bite! This has been added to my "definitely eat here again" list!

We stayed at the hotel and just wanted to eat/drink without having to go out in the cold. It was around 7 pm and we thought it would be busy for a Saturday, it was not. There were three of us. We were seated right away. At first, we had one server who took our drink orders and then he got busy with other tables so we were forgotten about for about 10 minutes before ordering. But, that was alright. Gigi, became our server and she was also bartending. She was the best! She was on it. After dinner, a large group came into the bar and she was pumping those drinks out so fast. My brother-in-law ordered a 3 course meal off the guest appreciation menu, which was a great deal for $39.00. My husband and I ordered the calamari for an appetizer. This was the only thing we were disappointed with as the aioli had no flavor nor did the calamari. We ordered sushi, the California Roll and Spider Roll, both very delicious. We enjoyed our experience. If ever in the area, we will definitely return!

This was disappointing but was moreso in that there was a good deal of soy/teriyaki sauce on the bar and both my wife and I got our sleeves in it. Would have been better if the bar had been clean. So after cleaning the bar ourselves we waited, and waited. The musician who was playing in the dining room was also waiting for a refill on some water. Btw, if you want a very nice relaxing but inspiring version of cover music, Tony Williams was doing a better than good job. My wife and I don't agree on music but we agree that he was good background and mood music. Back to waiting, the very nice bartendress finally got our order and...we waited. It took 10 minutes to get our drinks. Were they worth the wait? Not for $14 for a simple martini. The ambience in the bar is nothing special and is completely different than the main dining room which is like an atrium, open and spacious, which does have one weird attribute - There is an opaque band going around the floor to ceiling windows in the room, right at the level of the seated diners so...you can't look out to enjoy the view. Very strange. We might try dinner there, but I think it would be a crapshoot. Results may vary.

While we know this is a brewery, they also serve batch cocktails, instead of a full bar. We started with their version of an old fashioned, which wasn't our first choice but they were actually tasty albeit a bit sweet. Since the weather was below 0, I craved something hot and comforting. I ordered the Beef Stroganoff which was tasty. Included braised local beef, mushrooms, onions, garlic, parmesan, cream sauce, dill, house-made fettuccini, topped with sour cream. The sauce was light so you didn't feel like it weighed you down. My husband ordered the birria tacos. Beef brisket, white onions, mozzarella, cilantro, corn tortilla, green salsa, beef broth, lime Although they were tasty, they were quite greasy. Prices were reasonable. I would come back again and try the pizza.

A tasty choice (check out the photo). Then I asked for a reuben sandwich with a side of fries. I really liked the two-tone rye bread. There was modest amount of corned beef. Notice I didn't say 'generous.' The kraut, Swiss cheese, and thousand island dressing were a solid compliment. BUT the fries.... Check out the photo and look at the fries. These were double dunked in oil, greasy and sogged out, slightly charred, and meh tasting. I looked over at another patron's plate of food and saw her fries looked perfect. Golden, single dunk in oil, and crisp. Can I add a sad face emoji here? I called over the bartender and had him look at my fries, then look at the other patron's, and tell me the difference. He saw what I saw. I told him what was wrong with mine and asked why. He apologized and said he'd take 50% off my food bill. I saw him go back to the kitchen and have a conversation about my fries, which I appreciated. He didn't blow me off and let the kitchen know they dropped the ball. I've eaten at a lot of places from dives to fine dining, and I think the sign of good eatery is one that can excel at the basics.....like french fries. Plus, when you have your "A" staff working in the kitchen, but your staff sends out subpar fries to a customer...what does that say about the kitchen staff and leadership? Will I go back? Not sure, but there other places I've eaten at in Rochester that are consistently good. If I ever have family or friends in town and we go out to eat, we're not going to Forager Cafe.

There was live entertainment there that evening and the performance was good, however when the volume is such that you cannot have a conversation with the people at your table, it's a bit too loud.
