Needed 2 palms and 2 large bushes removed from our smallish townhouse patio. They were so quick and efficient I asked them to pull out some additional bushes and they were happy to do it. We had a giant - 21 year old Canary Date Palm tree in the back yard that I really need to have removed. (My neighbor and daughter both ended up in the emergency rooms from the toxic thorns in the last few years.). Anyway, I called several places for quotes - I think 5 places. Five Star was the least expensive but I also liked them the best. Very personable. I had them remove the tree a few years ago. It was gone in an hour. They cleaned up and took it all away. I really like Carson, Mike and the others that I met. They had a crew of 6 guys here. I felt like it was a family run business and that they really care about customers, value, service. This is the second year we have had Carson and Mike and their fantastic crew come to our home and trim and feed our seven trees. They are tops. They were here waiting for their promised 7:30 start. I think the crew was six or seven people. Everyone had a task and they were on the project like a team of ants. Movement everywhere and progress right from the start. Continuous clean up and direction from the boss. Mike checked with me several times to insure they were on track with our directions, and he kept the crew going at just the right pace. Mike, Carson and their crew were great. They removed 12 eucalyptus trees from a steep hill in our backyard. Even trees that were hanging over into neighbors yards were safely removed without damaging the fences or neighbors property. They were able to precisely control where the tree trunk would fall so that it didn't damage other structures in the yard or fall on our house. They were extremely professional and cleaned up when they were done. They were also able to grind the stumps with portable stump grinders. Other tree services I had received quotes from were unable to offer stump grinding on the hillside. The price was also very reasonable. Mike responded quick with my request for an estimate for removing a couple of tall pine trees and to trim some of my oaks. The estimate Mike provided for the work was very reasonable and scheduling the work was effortless. On the day the work was scheduled, the crew came on time and quickly and efficiently got to work to complete the scope. I invited a few reputable tree removal companies to give me a price to remove and trim some very large eucalyptus trees behind my house. Not only was Five Star Tree Care the most competitive, they visited my property twice to determine the best way to meet the requirements for Cal Fire. Today they came bright and early with 8 guys, including the Owner, to do the work. They finished the project in half a day and everything looks terrific. They then removed a gigantic ficus tree on my neighbor's property in, believe it or not, one hour. I can't imagine any other tree company being as competitive, efficient, and qualified. read more

Carson was exactly on time for quote appt... was very knowledgeable... had his insurance certificates... left a written quote... price was reasonable...very professional. Mike, Carson and the crew are extremely professional and competent. They have been out to our place numerous times to prune and remove problematic trees. The latest was a massive pine tree that had grown dangerously close to both our roofline and our neighbor's home. It was in a hard to reach area and as mentioned, massive! I am happy to give a 5 star rating to this excellent company! We had nine fan palms trimmed and a large dead pine taken down and chipped. The palms were around the swimming pool but they were careful to remove the debris that went into the pool. They brought a large crew and were done in a few hours. Very pleased with this company. They had a very competitive bid to remove a large pine tree on a steep slope that fell over from the rain into our back yard. A bit hard to access. The Five Star crew arrived slightly early and started on time. They were able to remove it and a second tree that was leaning badly.
