If I could rank this as 0 stars I would. I was 10 minutes late to my appointment, called in ahead of time to let them know. They were ok. Got in, paid in advance for an hour long massage. Two minutes in the my massage the masseuse leaves. I wait for a few minutes then I look up I see them walking around speaking on their phone and later he was admitting new customers in. I wait a few more minutes the guy comes back and tells me I can only get a 40 min massage because I was late. I told them I paid for a full hour; he walks away comes back a few minutes later and starts typing and negotiating how much money he is giving me back. It was absurd. I had more tension after the massage than before. They rude and have really bad service. read more

Just like the other reviews mentioned, if you tell them you want to use the yelp deal, they will honor it. Be sure to mention it though because if you forget, they will not remind you. Called for a reservation but when I walked in there was only 1 other person getting a massage. It's a large dark room with about 10 beds. You stay in your clothes but they cover you with sheets. The massage was not the greatest but it wasn't bad. I'm used to getting shiatsu massages but my masseuse had good pressure. What bumped this review to 4 stars is the price. $36 (without tip) for a 70 minute massage is a pretty great deal. read more

Steven was incredible. He got the knot out of my neck that had been plaguing me all year. He also loosened up my lower back which I thought was incurable. I surf daily and punish my body skateboarding. He kind of gave me a new set of muscles it feels like: Can't say enough other than I will be going back again in a couple months. He goes very hard almost too hard but it is exactly what I needed even though I'm usually tense about people messing with my muscles and nerves too much. Anyway, it felt like he knew my pain areas better than I do. He would strike a nerve hard and he could tell so instead of scrubbing and pressuring that point he worked above and then below it and by the time he got back to it the sensation was gone and the pain was replaced with strength. Can't fully tell you how much I recommend him if you have a serious pain or tightness or can't even turn your neck to one side like I had. Thank you! read more

Amazing, amazing, amazing!! Do not have words for how wonderful this place is! I came here after a long weekend of being a Maid of Honor in my best friend's wedding in dire need of some TLC. I got the 1/2 hour full body massage + 1/2 hour reflexology. It was heavenly as my masseuse really listened to me about how much pressure I wanted or did not want. I used to get Reflexology massages when I lived in LA. None could hold a candle aesthetically to the space they have. VERY clean, tranquil with nice music playing and real massage tables that make the experience much more enjoyable. It was everything I needed and more at the price I could afford. Did a walk-in appointment on a Friday around got a 1 hr combo, therapist was nice, skilled and had kept making sure I was comfortable. Suggest Private room if they are busy or if you are looking to really relax. Overall great service, only giving 4 stars because another guest snoring loudly and his therapist just giggled instead of waking him up. read more

This is absolutely my favorite place to come for reflexology. The prices can't be beat and all of the staff do an excellent job. It's much cleaner than other places that I've been to and they are always accommodating to my boyfriend and I, since we always come here together. One thing I suggest for first timers is to be aware that if you get a full body massage, you will leave your clothes on, but they will still massage everything.. including your butt, which was kind of weird to me the first time I did reflexology, since my masseuse was a man. That said, I prefer to have a female masseuse, which is never a problem at 5 Star. Another great perk is their punch card, which allows you to get a free massage for every 10 you get. I came here once before for a 60min massage. Nothing to complain about that massage, pressure was great, overall comparable to others that I've had. The second time i wanted to book a massage, I had scheduled for a time after work. I showed up on time only to find that the woman who booked me entered my appointment for an earlier time. I waited to see if they could accommodate me for the time I wanted my appointment to be. The woman who booked me came out to speak to me and insisted that I gave her the earlier time on the phone and that I should have called to change the time. I replied saying that it would have been impossible to for me to book the earlier time considering I was still at work and that she must have misunderstood me. She kept insisting that I gave her the wrong time. The younger gentlemen came back out to tell me they couldn't in fact accommodate me, that it was her misunderstanding, and offered me a 50% discount (meanwhile the woman is standing by him, shaking her head and saying something in another language.... No assumptions being made here but I thought it was inappropriate considering the circumstances). For an average massage and bad customer service, I won't be coming back unless it's a last option. read more

I called today for an appointment and the gentleman who answered was very nice and accommodated the time I selected. When I arrived he asked me several questions pertaining to my massage, asked me if I would like to use the restroom before my session, then escorted me to my room. The gentleman who did my massage was wonderful too. I was in pain on my left side and he worked it out. I feel so much better! Thank you for your stellar service. The only reason I'm giving this one star is because my massage was good. I got the 60 full body and reflexology combo. I went in with my girlfriend on a Friday night. We both asked for the 60 minute full body/reflexology. She was not given what she asked for. That could have been forgiven. What bothered me the most was that, who I assume is the owner, pressured me to tip more than I was willing to. He had my girlfriend bring the tip to the massage therapist- said right in front of her "don't you think she's worth more," made her give the woman the whole tip and then came back and charged me more money. When I said I had an issue with that, he blamed my girlfriend. I'm a generous tipper-what that guy did was not ok. I had high hopes for This place... read more

Strong, excellent massage. No nonsense, deep tissue work and the masseur Tom knew what he was doing. Quality deep tissue work is hard to find. As a walk in customer I find that 75% of the people in the business hurt me because they massage a bone, are not specific enough and don't have the knowledge of the body's muscle structure. Massage gets better in Asia, but it can be hard to find in California. I'd come here again for sure if I lived in OC. Prices are cheaper than average too, which is nice. read more

I'm usually not a huge fan of these clothes on massage places, but this one was actually really good! Came here in on a whim at the suggestion of a friend and it was not only thoroughly enjoyable, it was a bargain. I did the 70-minute combo massage for $36. Even in the shared room with some of the random outside noises going on I was still able to relax fully. The guy who did my massage had great technique for a fully clothed massage. The only thing I didn't like was that after he used lotion for certain areas of my body where he had to make direct skin contact his hands were a little clammy from the lotion and created friction as he continued with other parts of the massage when he didn't reapply. Otherwise, really enjoyable and they are pretty professional, though only the front staff person really knew how to speak English. He was very nice and accommodating. Be sure to grab some guava candy at the front before you leave! That's good too. read more

This place is such a TREASURE!!! 5 STAR SPA is a perfectly fitting name. I frequent A LOT of massage/reflexology places. Ranging from the ever popular $25 an hour to the occasional treat of the luxury spa massages which will cost you a few Benjamin's. This place is the ULTIMATE!!! Location - the ever so crowded Diamond Plaza. Park in the structure on the 2nd floor near the elevators and walk up the few steps onto the 2nd floor. Turn left and go all the way down the hall. Pretty much facing Guppy House. Setting - it's a white curtained glass wall space with 5 massage tables. The beds are well spaced out instead of right on top of each other. It's really nice not to be practically on top of other people. They play ocean sounds that are so soothing that I've fallen asleep. There could be private rooms but I've never been. The staff - English is definitely a challenge here. Specially when you call. So keep it simple. You tell them what time, how many people (specify male or female and hopefully the message got through). Today on my visit, I was able to pull staff names out. There are 5 of them. Evan (tall), Kevin (salt & pepper hair, usually rings up the payment), Anne, Jessie (think she might speak English or some) and Julie. Haven't gotten Julie yet. They all have Magic hands I tell ya! They know pressure, they find your spots and work them out, they're gentle but firm, got soft hands, check if you're ok, etc. I always do a $35 1 hour combo or $40 1 hour 10 min combo. Which is 30 min. of reflexology and 30 min. body massage. Now I know gratuity is usually 20% in the normal world for services. All reflexology places that charge $25-35 expect $10. Since one isn't really making a real living if they actually got just the 20%. So don't be cheapskates. Do at least the minimum $10 if you get an hour. Or do what I do and double it up (pssst $20 so you pay a total of $60 for pure bliss). The staff here deserves it. The only real con I see are for those that want more foot love. Maybe that's in the reflexology only package. They're more about massage on the feet for combos. read more

3.5 stars. Not fantastic, but not bad either. Couple things to note: 1. The massage area is a large room with high ceilings and 5 beds. There is a more private area behind the curtain that has 2 beds. This same area can be converted into the couples room for couples massage. If you're looking for an intimate, private setting, this place is not for you. 2. Their version of deep tissue may not be the traditional American style prevalent in other spas. Their technique involves less fluid strokes and more poking and prodding. On to the actual massage. The service is inconsistent. On our first trip, we were fully clothed. On our second trip, I started off fully clothed and was asked if I wanted oil 15 minutes into the massage. I was then taken to the "private" room where I could remove my clothing from the waist up. Visit 1 was interesting. Helen was my therapist and massacred my back. She came close to my spine too many times and even cracked my upper back at one point. No one but my chiro should be cracking my back. After asking her to make it softer, she complied for a couple of minutes before returning full strength again. I guess she forgot she was supposed to ease up... Despite my back feeling massacred, the massage was good about 65% of the time. Visit 2 was better. Nancy delivered an overall better massage. She targeted my problem areas more, and the massage actually felt good. No pain, no cringing, no cracking. There's definitely room for improvement. For the price and area, it's a good spot. read more

I had a pain in my neck and needed some help, so I came here for a 30 minute shoulder and neck massage. It was worth it... It wasn't an instantaneous pain relief, but I definitely felt better the next morning. The masseuse used firm pressure and was very thorough. He asked right away what hurt and he focused more time in that area. The location is clean and was quite empty (but I was there on a Wednesday during lunch). It is above the ramen restaurant on the second floor, but it is better to just park in the structure. I would probably do the hour massage next time, but 30 minutes was perfect for lunch. read more
