Called in for the same day appointment and I was accommodated pretty quickly. I had an hour combination massage, which is $75 in cash w/o tips. If you would like to pay with the credit card or debit card, there will be extra prob 2 % fee adding on. I walked out with feeling like walking on the clouds. My body was so relieved from the tension and overuse ( I workout a lot but not stretch much). Honestly it's the best $75 I invested! My masseuse is Gal #8. She noticed how tight my back and neck are. She spent most of the time trying to loosen muscles up and apologized to me that she didn't spend much time when I turned around. Honestly, I really appreciated what she did! There wasn't a need of apology from her end. I was grateful that she didn't go through "standard process". She did not use tiger balm on me ( okay I was little bummed but it's not a big deal at all) I am actually a fan of tiger balm. Gal started with asking me if medium strong is okay. I told her yes but I will let her know if it's too much! She listened when certain spot hurts from tightness and she would apologize. I recommend communicate your expectations with your masseuse or the front desk before starting the session. I did say no for walking on my back and they listened. If you are newbies: 1. I love coming to Tranquil Thai! Years ago, I had injured my back during working out. I tried *everything* - saw an orthopedic surgeon, went to physical therapy, had ultrasound massages, cupping, acupuncture... No one could fix it and I was in chronic pain for literally 2 years. One week, when it was especially painful, I booked a massage here to try to find some relief. Whoever I had at the time, completely fixed it and I never had issues with that muscle again! I was so incredibly thankful for the ongoing pain to go away. Now in 2025, I had been experiencing some really intense neck pain - maybe slept on it weird or something (lol). It became shoulder pain too. It kept coming back on/off for about 2 months. This past week, it was SO painful - meds, ice packs, heat pads, and icy hot patches didn't help. So again, I booked a massage again for some relief. I had Jasmine for this massage and she is incredible!! She was very kind, applied the perfect amount of pressure, and knew exactly how to approach the discomfort I was experiencing. Hello, I appreciate the original upfront cost and service. And my original intention was to give you a five star review. Unfortunately, the upfront cost was $70 which I'd agreed to. As I was paying to leave, the person at the front desk did state that I owed $80. This was a discrepancy, for the sake of avoiding conflict. I went ahead and paid the $80. Now, in your review you're telling me that that did not occur. So this is something where I have to encourage any would be patron to be aware of business practices. "She did not charge you $80". That implies that I'm being dishonest, so for that reason, I have to change my review to one star. I'm not going to engage in conflict. I'm not gonna engage in banter. I would ask that your business stick to the original price and not change the price as people are leaving. If people want to tip your staff, that is up to them however people should not feel compelled to pay more than they agreed to because your staff changes the price last second. I know my experience was highly dependent on my therapist, but this also says a lot about the whole place. My wife suggested I start my two-week vacation with a massage. I usually enjoy massages and have had massages from other studios as well as using Relaxing Thai Massage (a few doors down) a few years ago. They seem to have gone out of business so I used Tranquil Thai Massage. I had booked a 90-minute massage. The owner/manager told me they would give me an experienced therapist. The woman who massaged me used her elbows a lot and pushed so hard I would wince (I'm a pretty tough guy). She asked if she should go lighter. I said yes, and after a couple minutes she would press too hard again, continuing to use her elbow a lot. When she finished, I gave her a $20 tip. After dressing and starting to leave, the manager tried to pressure me to give more. I told her no, this is what I want to give. I guess they don't understand that a tip is based on satisfaction, not just on a percentage of the bill. The day after, I hurt all over and the pain lingered for two weeks. I have never had this feeling after a massage. I'm wondering how she was trained. Based on these negative experience, I will NOT be using their services again. read more

But I wanted to show some love and give credit where it's due, especially to Sara, the owner. She's always made sure I'm taken care of and getting the best massage experience. Over the years, I've seen a few different people there, but here are my top 3: Yaya - She's hands down the best. I'd give her a 5/5 for sure. She's super popular (and for good reason), so don't expect to get a same-day appointment she's usually booked days in advance, but it's always worth the wait. Vicky - I'd give Vicky a 4.5/5. She's a safe choice, especially if you don't get massages regularly. She's consistent, makes sure you're comfortable, and really knows how to help you relax. Maya - Maya's great too a 4.25/5 in my book. She doesn't do traditional Thai massage, but focuses more on stretches. Never left a bad review and waited a week to post This but Went last Sunday for a couples massage for my gf birthday. Arrived early and everything seemed great. Left more sore and in pain than when i arrived. Out of an hour probably 50 minutes was walking on my back. Had to ask 3 times to be more soft and nothing changed. Seemed like rubbing was too much work and rather just walk on my body instead. 5 minutes of oil rubbing on my back then walking continued. Fully standing on my quads and hamstrings and neck. I feel like I played a full game of football like I was back in college. I'm 6 foot and 240, workout everyday and Haven't been able to perform due to the actual physical pain I am in from the massage. I have a cracked rib after a massage. I've had dozens of Thai massages with them standing on my back, but never had a rib cracked. It hurts to breath, turn, lie down, or sit up straight. I can't speak for the other masseuses, but if you get one and a little voice inside your head screams at you not to let her stand on your back...listen to it. My normal massage place had a blip and I needed to find a new spot. This came up as close by. I had never been to a Thai Massage place so I wasn't sure what to expect. I called and asked if they had female therapists and private rooms (I had been somewhere years ago that was a big room with everyone, not relaxing to me). The person on the phone was kind and friendly. I arrived early for my appointment and was greeted warmly and asked to change into their sandals. I was quickly ushered back and shown where to put my things and how to get situated. I noticed how impeccably clean the space was. The tables are warmed and it felt amazing. My therapist came in and asked where I had any problem issues which was my back and calves and she went right to work. Very little talking, yet she found every knot. I was not prepared for it when she got on the table and began walking on my legs, I may have cried out in shock. She was so kind and asked if it was my first Thai massage, which it was. She then walked me through everything else. I am pretty sore day after but also don't feel the pulling and tight muscles. I'll be back, more prepared this time! read more

I have been here about 3 x now :( unfortunately this last time wasn't a good experience for me:( I came in last week on Friday for a massage, normally before I was really satisfied with the place and had a good experience. This last time, although the masseuse was kind.. she was too rough for me :( she never asked what kind of pressure I like and went FULL force and put her body weight into my back:( and I've been in pain ever since... my back has been so stiff it's really hard to rotate and my neck has been sore as well. Normally you shouldn't have to leave the place feeling more pain:( My other issue was that she didn't ask me if I wanted tiger balm, she just put it on.. so personally I don't like tiger balm because it makes me really cold and I don't find it enjoyable :/ so I couldn't relax at all.. I also noticed that her massage wasn't consistent with other masseuses... she didn't do the full back stretch or really focus on my neck and shoulder like I had asked:(( So when I called back the next day because my back was actually in more pain and more stiff since the massage.. the owner didn't finally get back to me until Monday because I had to call again:/ but she really didn't have any concern for my pain or discomfort. Instead she said "oh well every masseuse is different and you should stick with who you like" I understand what she says by this, however as a massage salon specializing in a specific technique. You should ensure all your employees are trained the same. The most she offered me was 50% off my next massage :/ and insisted I booked that day and she said "I will let the other girl know she will only be paid $37 instead of $75." So basically making me feel guilty rather than taking more accountability for my injury. I did call her back to inform her I wouldn't be going to the appointment after all, however she didn't answer or respond to my voice mail and marked me a no show. I truthfully am just upset with the lack of care and professionalism from the owner.. I am in genuine pain and might actually need to visit my doctor and a chiropractor now because of someone's wrong doing. PROCEED WITH CAUTION.. I found this business on Yelp in July 2022 bc my partner and I were really sore after moving. My massager Viki was so great that I have been coming almost every week ever since. It's usually hard to find a good massager right away because it takes time for the massager to learn the customer's body. But with Viki, it was instant. Highly recommend this place. One of the best massages I've had! I usually only get massages when I travel for vacation so I've had massages at 5-star hotels in Hawaii, Santorini, Napa, etc. The massage here is half the price of a massage at a luxury hotel but the quality was just as good--actually probably even better! The ambiance here obviously isn't going to be on par with the spa at a luxury hotel, but you still get a nice private room and an overall relaxing and clean setting (much better than that of other massage places I've been to in SoCal suburbia). I had Vicki as my masseuse and she was excellent. In the beginning, she asked me what pressure I preferred and I said medium. She applied a perfect medium pressure throughout the massage and she constantly checked in to make sure I was content with the pressure. I live in San Francisco and am only in the OC area when I visit my parents so I'm not sure what the average pricing is for massages here, but $60 for an hour-long massage of this quality felt like an absolute steal.
