My body was so relieved from the tension and overuse ( I workout a lot but not stretch much). Honestly it's the best $75 I invested! My masseuse is Gal #8. She noticed how tight my back and neck are. She spent most of the time trying to loosen muscles up and apologized to me that she didn't spend much time when I turned around. Honestly, I really appreciated what she did! There wasn't a need of apology from her end. I was grateful that she didn't go through "standard process". She did not use tiger balm on me ( okay I was little bummed but it's not a big deal at all) I am actually a fan of tiger balm. Gal started with asking me if medium strong is okay. I told her yes but I will let her know if it's too much! She listened when certain spot hurts from tightness and she would apologize. I recommend communicate your expectations with your masseuse or the front desk before starting the session. I did say no for walking on my back and they listened. If you are newbies: 1. Express the strength you would like to have 2. Combination Thai msg: including walking on the back and stretch. 3. I think each masseuses is different on using tiger balm?! I'm guessing. (-1 point) The pressure was extremely light and slow, and she spent most of the time just moving up and down along my spine in one direction. She also tried to work on my neck, and I had to redirect her again to focus on my shoulders. After I said that, she briefly used her knuckles and applied heavy pressure, but it only lasted about 2 minutes before she went right back to the same up-and-down motion on my back. It honestly made me feel uncomfortable, as if she was reacting negatively to being redirected. (-1 point) I was worried that if I asked for medium pressure, she might respond too aggressively (like using her elbow). At that point, I realized it wasn't really about adjusting the pressure, but the overall technique, and that's not something I should have to coach her during a massage. Communication was difficult throughout the entire session. (-1 point) Afterward, I shared my experience with the front desk, and he did adjust the pricing from a #4 trigger point massage to a #1 body massage, which I appreciated. (+1 point) Another thing to note is their stamp card system. Apparently, the stamps only apply to a specific type of massage. So if you get a body massage one visit and a trigger point massage the next, they count toward separate cards. That means to earn a free massage (buy 12, get 1 free), you'd have to stick to the same type every time. It doesn't really incentivize you to be a regular or loyal customer. Overall, the experience was terrible. I've had plenty of massages at different businesses and this one felt like the masseuse didn't even try.
