I found Orchard Thai Massage on Yelp after leaving another appointment nearby. I was already in Newport Beach by the airport and really wanted a Thai massage. There was one closer, but they were closing early, so I checked reviews and headed over here instead -- and I'm so glad I did. I wish I remembered my therapist's name. She was amazing. I usually book Thai massage specifically because I want to be stretched, but the front desk suggested their combo massage, which they said was really popular. At first, I was hesitant -- I wanted stretching, but I also wanted oil because I'd been traveling and my body was sore. Honestly, I had low expectations going in. I thought I wouldn't get enough pressure or stretching... but it was perfect. She still stretched me out, walked on my back, cracked my back, and the bed was heated (huge plus). The pressure was great, she checked in on me often, and communication was easy -- her English was totally fine. The rooms were clean, everything ran smoothly from start to finish, and she even gave me a $5 coupon to come back next time. I was a loyal customer with orchid massage for several years, spent who knows how many thousands of dollars there because I had a good masseuse, then I saw somebody that was outside of my normal masseuse who ended up pinching a nerve in my neck when she was walking on my back, injured me, which took months of rehab rehabilitation, physical therapy, etc., to fix. I made no mention of any intent to sue them, I just took care of it. Then when I wanted to come back to get a massage from the 1 good masseuse they wouldn't see me, after years of loyalty, feel like this place is a disgrace. Feel super disrespected and unappreciated. I'm a big guy and she was able to provide nice strong pressure. She did a great job of loosening up my back and stretching my whole body out. I walked in with a back ache, I walked out feeling perfect and rejuvenated. She recommended I come back twice a month to keep my back in shape. I'll definitely be back! Holy hallelujah. I've finally discovered my go-to deep tissue massage place in Orange County, which is basically in my backyard. Costa Mesa features some unexpected gems, and Orchid Thai Massage is one of those gold mines of a find. As my previous Yelp reviews attest, I'm a deep tissue devotee. My neck and shoulders store all of my stress, and they get so stiff that I almost become immobile over time if left untreated. A proper massage resets and restores my otherwise mangled muscles, and helps me not just move--but also think--more fluidly. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!! I booked an appointment because it says on their website that they offer reflexology massage that can help with plantar fasciitis for $55/hour. What I ended up getting is foot scrub, soaked my feet for 15 minutes then scrub with sugar. We were greeted and paid upfront. We were escorted to our room which had 2 beds. It was quite cozy, but it was air conditioned and the music was gentle and fit the ambiance perfectly.
