The women's soaking pools are also spacious. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was really disappointing. The jjimjilbang rooms were noticeably cooler than I remembered. Most of them were barely warm enough to make me sweat, and even the hottest room didn't feel hot at all. At first, I assumed something was malfunctioning, which I would have completely understood. However, I asked the front desk and was told that these are going to be their regular temperatures moving forward because they had been cited by the health department for the rooms being too hot. I understand that they have to comply with health department requirements, but for someone who specifically comes here for the traditional Korean sauna experience, this completely changes the experience for me. If I'm going to a sauna, I expect to sweat. The LA weather outside honestly feels hotter than some of the sauna rooms now. It's unfortunate because iSpa used to be worth the hour-plus drive for me, and I genuinely loved coming here. The atmosphere is still beautiful and unique, but without the heat I expect from a Korean sauna, I don't think I'll be making the drive back.

Having booked the service, we were allowed to utilize the amenities located in the spa. In order to get to the spa (if you're not staying in the hotel), you had to drive into the front entrance of the hotel. This is located on the side opposite of PCH. The only real option to park is through valet service which the spa takes care of as part of the cost of the service. Our massages were booked for 2pm but we arrived around 11:30am to have lunch and enjoy the amenities. The food was pretty good and the servings were plentiful. We got a chicken Cesar wrap and the charcuterie board. You're able to eat and have the food brought over just like you were ordering room service, it was definitely room service cost and they charged for delivery to the garden. After we finished eating, we lounged in the garden to catch some sun. This is the part where I say that it almost fit the bill... the weather loved tents providing shade had mold on the canvas. Maybe it was just weather warn because it does stay outside all year round? Not sure but I'm thinking that it definitely looked like mold to me. After the sun, we enjoyed the indoor amenities of steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. For me, there a few other patrons enjoying the amenities but my boyfriend said that he pretty much had the men's locker room all to himself. My favorite part about the amenities was the shower. The shower had a rainfall shower, a handheld shower and then several steam shower heads on three of the walls. The products in the shower smelled great and I would definitely use them again. For our massages, we have the couples suite. The room was absolutely gorgeous complete with 2 massage tables, 2 sinks, a gorgeous tub, 2 separate showers this beautiful stone piece on the far wall. Massages were great and relaxing. After the massages, our massage therapists led us out to the garden again to pretty much recover from the service and it was definitely needed. Upon checking it out from our service, we perused the gift shop. There were cute clothing pieces there as well as the products that were utilized as part of some of the services. When paying, they let us know that the gratuity was already covered in the cost so that was nice. Given the cost for each service, I thought it was a generous but also fair tip. Because we finished late afternoon, we decided to walk down to the pier and venture around there. We were able to keep the car there and the hotel bellman allowed us to store our gym bags in the hotel as well, all at no extra cost. If I was looking to splurge again, I would probably come back. What would sweeten the deal is if we were able to use the hotel pool too but they said that it is only allowed during the weekdays when the pool isn't too busy.

WOOOWWWW!!! What a fantastic surprise!! I am a world traveler and have experienced massages of every type and every culture, but have yet to make it to Thailand. Now it is high on my list of places to go to because a "true" Thai massage experience is one of a kind! For the most part massages are either all about the 'spa' experience or about swedish type rubbing sessions. Being one who is tight and not having the time to go to yoga 4 days a week, I found the massage given to me at Chaba to be a perfect blend of everything I could want. Having not experienced a Thai therapy session before I did not realize what I was in for, and what I got blew my mind!! The highly professional techniques employed by my massuese did more for me physically then I have ever had before. It was like being at the gym with my trainer giving me a stretching session, combined with a very comfortable bed, in a clean, serene, & private environment, with superb ambiance, calming and relaxing music which is authentic and culturally pleasant, and best of all, by a very lovely, classy, elegant lady!! I felt like the King of Siam with the way I was treated and the real Thai environment experience! The establishment is immaculate, and cleanliness is paramount to me!!! You could eat off the gorgeous shiny teak wood floors; the aromas are delightful (not fishy or ethnic); the music soothing; the linens high quality and freshly clean (not just a new towel laid over the old sheets like so many places); the furniture is genuine imported Thai artistry; and the showers are spotless with excellent supplies!! You feel so comfortable from the first moment you walk in all the way to the delicious green tea they serve you at the end. It is difficult to imagine having a better massage experience short of being in the King's court in old Siam. Especially if you like to be stretched ~~ and pampered!! I felt soooo envigorated and recharged the next day, and totally spent when I finished. If you don't want too much stretching or even want traditional hot oil soft massage, then that is available too! I chose a 90 minute "combination" session which was half traditional Thai and half hot oil massage. Every move they did...every position they put me in...every technique used....all were new to me and so very fulfilling each one!! You could really feel the tension just flowing from your body. Then they bring you to another level of nirvahna with hot oil deep tissue therapy & herbal pack pressure point rubs. You really get the sense that the therapists are real pro's as they move with grace and calm, rather than so many massage gals who just push you around and quickly hit each part of your body like you are a slab of meet. Chaba has only highly trained professionals who received their massage training and credentials actually in Thailand!! They know how to transition from move to move, never losing contact, and maintaining an even flow so you never feel disrupted! Then when it is all over, they even know how to ease you out of your blissful stupor by helping you sit up, and then working your muscles gently one more time til you are ready to stand up...that is soooo much better than the classic pat-on-the-ass "all done" method used by most maseusses. No my gal was a technician, a class act, a gentle and caring lady, and a truly professional therapist!! Worth every single penny, and it is rare that when I leave a massage that I am concerned if I am leaving enough tip, but here at Chaba I was feeling that I got way more than my expectations! I have been used to getting massages in Ohio from a very tough, but lovely woman named Racquel. This is the first time I've received a massage that was even close to what she provided. There were the all too familiar moments of "OMG!" and "I have a muscle there?!!", as well as some very cool stretches and movements that I didn't expect. I've never had someone walk my back like that before... at most I've had girlfriends who have tried, but they fail miserably in comparison. The way my therapist used her feet was excellent and very intuitive. I definitely felt much better when I came out of the place. Although I still think Racquel gives the best massages, she is in New Mexico now, so Chaba is going to be my new place to go. The one advantage/disadvantage to this place is that I never felt like crying when receiving the massage :) The only real issue I found was the language barrier. I had requested a 90 minute massage, but only received an hour massage, but they didn't charge me extra, so it was all good. I'm planning to go back friday, because I'm still pretty tight in quite a few places, but the stress of school and an upcoming marriage will do that to the best of us. Also, if you like someone who is always talking during a massage, then this is not the place for you. Your job at Chaba is to relax and shut the mouth so you can experience the massage without interruption... Hope this helps :) read more

My Experience Was Absolutely Outstanding! I had been thinking about getting Botox for the longest time but was having a really hard time committing due to anxiety. My girlfriend had mentioned Dr. Patacxil awhile ago and I had seen how her results turned out and I was really interested but like I said the anxiety of it all kept me from doing it. I finally decided to go see Dr. Patacxil with my girlfriend. I have absolutely no regrets. Best decision of my life! He was so knowledgeable, attentive, and calming. He asked me about my fear and anxiety, reassuring me that it was normal and made me feel so safe. He was caring enough walk me through the procedure and explained how Botox works with your facial muscles and how to achieve the results that would work the best for me. I told him I wanted my results to be very natural looking. He listened to what I needed worked on my 11's, crows feet, frown lines and also helped fix some symmetry in my face. He was very careful with his work and took his time. Every single injection was painless and invisble. I can not wait to see my results in the days to come. I also can't wait for my next visit. I was sooo stressed, overwhelmed, and tense from writing papers for school, and needed a break so I made an appointment and went in for some relaxation and relief!! I requested an appoint thru Yelp, and they responded right away, and I had an appointment in like less than 2 hours. It was before 3pm, So I got the Early bird special and only paid $75 for an hour and a half vs. the normal $90 they charge, so that was a huge plus! I mean to get the quality relaxation and relief, I have paid twice that in the past! I have never had a "Thai" massage before and wasn't really sure how it worked or what was going on the beginning, but I shortly relaxed an enjoyed, it was like nothing I have experienced before in a good way. My therapists name was Jasmine, and she was GOOOD! Plus, when you enter the ambiance there is beautiful, it has like ornate wood carvings, and it's like your transported to a different world when your in there! And after they give you tea and fruit, which is cute!! I will definitely be back, like weekly if I can!! Needless to say I'm so relaxed, and can now be more productive, which is a win-win situation!! I decided to check this place out today based on a rave review from a colleague. Believe me, that is the only reason why I ever would have gone into a place like this, as based on appearances, you would think it is a front operation for some shady, underground activities! Once you step through the doors, I was greeted by a cozy, well appointed waiting area and a friendly receptionist., putting my fears to rest. After some quick paperwork, I was whisked into my treatment room by May who doesn't speak much English and whom I towered over. I'm here to say that May is small but mighty! I requested medium pressure knowing that I like a lot of pressure but this place doesn't mess around with it - Burke Williams it is not. There were times where I had to use my yoga breathing to get through some discomfort but May stepped, pushed, pulled and pummeled my weary body and after just one hour, I left feeling re-engerized, my tension headache from the past few days completely gone. My boyfriend and I recently booked a couples massage, and we can confidently say it was the best massage experience we've ever had. From the moment we arrived, the level of customer service was exceptional--the receptionist was warm, professional, and accommodating. We had to reschedule our appointment twice on the same day, and the team handled it with complete understanding and grace, never making us feel like an inconvenience. That level of flexibility and kindness is rare and deeply appreciated. As for the massage itself, it exceeded all expectations. Last weekend for my friend's birthday, I took her here for a deep tissue massage. It was our first time here and the people here are very nice and polite. My massage lady was Tammy. She asked me about my comfort level and how strong I want the massage to be and I told her that I'm comfortable and since its my first time there, I warrant sure what level of strength I would like so she said she would start from weak to strong. At one point it did hurt which I let her know and she used less of her muscles on me. She's very polite and easy to talk to. She offered me tea or water after the massage too! Oh yeah, since I came 15 minutes after the early bird special, they still honor it and gave it to me when I called in ahead of time. Due to them being booked during the early bird deal. Linda was awesome and communicated really well. The venue is in a strip mall but the inside has very nice authentic Thai decor w shinny smooth wooden floors. Linda hooked it up w a 90min Thai massage (u will either love or not). I loved it she focused on my tension spots worked on my knots and stretched me out most excellent. They can mix up the massage. The staff is very friendly and professional. This is not a happy ending place do perverts stay away. He he he. Linda Offered me some water or hot green tea. Green tea was nice and hot served at the front w a business card. 90 min for$65 can't beat that. (Early Bird Special 7 days a week) Sweet! My wife took me here today for my Birthday and this is the best massage experience so far I've ever get. I tried other types of massage and relaxation but so far this is one of the bests. As a student of martial arts and physical therapies, I really appreciate the knowledgeable (massage therapist?) of how to stretch and work on different muscles and postures. I feel completely relax afterward with an reawaken awareness of my body. Ally (?), the massage therapist, know how to apply the correct or appropriate amount of stretch and strength/force to different muscle groups. The reimagined massage parlor is amazing! It is a larger and more elegant place. I have been going to see SUN for over a seven years. My friends and family buy me gift certificates I love this place so much. SUN is currently massaging again; she is the most incredible, intuitive masseuse I have ever experienced. My dislocated shoulder got wrenched recently and she found the spot, worked it out and I feel better than I have in months. EARLY BIRD special, before 3 p.m. $50 for an hour, $75 for 90 minutes, I usually go for 90 and tip $30. If SUN is not available, Cindy does a great job. Thanks yelp reviews to make me want to try this place and Massage Envy being booked solid :) They really work out all your stressed spots that you have "back, neck, shoulders" for example and make sure that it is completed worked out before you leave. Get ready to stretch in postions you never though of but you are so relaxed by the massage you just go with the flow. I had an hour and half massage; it was perfect. Also they do take credit card and if you do not want to use the ATM for a tip you can just tell them the tip amount and they added that to your card. read more

I recently treated myself to a 60-minute Thai massage and it was one of the best decisions I've made for my well-being. She's the best...I've had so called deep tissue massage from men in the past that can't even come close to her techniques. This place is as good as it gets, ive had several Thai massages and this is by far my favorite. Before going to Chaba I was a regular at Busaba and Oasis which are both really nice and clean establishments. But I think they try a little harder at working your problem area at Chaba. THe plaza where this is located seems a little sketchy but once your inside all your worries go away. Only downside is the price it's a tad more expensive than others. I normally pay $50 for the hour but Chaba charges $60. read more

Extremely happy with this place and I wasn't even the one getting the service done. I gifted my boyfriend a $60 gift certificate to get whatever he service he wanted done. He chose a 30 minute foot reflexology and a 30 minute yoga massage. When he told me about both, he was so excited, he said the lady put him in positions and stretched him out and walked on him and he has absolutely no pain anymore. AMAZING!!!! The best massage in town. I am a massage therapist , originally from the San Diego area and when I moved here nine years ago, I was in constant search for a good massage, all were hit and miss, until I found Chaba. The place i very unassuming from the outside I may have never tried it but a friend took me there and I've been going ever since. I have never had a bad massage. My wife and I booked a 60 min couples massage, it was the best we've had,and we've travelled Asia trying out plenty of Thai massages over the last five years! My wife prefers a gentle Swedish massage and they got it just right for her sensitive body. I prefer Thai and My masseur proved an expert, stretching, manipulating and ironing out those muscles expertly with foot and hand massage, standing on my back etc. Both feeling super afterwards! read more

On an impulse, I dashed over for a 60-minute Thai massage and have to shout out that this is the real deal. The massage was excellent, just the pressure I requested, with plenty of those gentle stretches one expects from the Thai style. In a humble strip mall, they have managed to create a soothing and beautifully decorated atmosphere, transporting one to Thailand -- at least for a short while. I'll return often. read more

I have been coming to Thip TaRa Massage for three years, I usually go twice a month after work. I have to say the truth Irene is the best, she's very friendly & professional. I have suffered from muscular migraines for 25 years. This has been the most helpful therapy out of everything I have tried. The stretching and pressure are perfect for my tight muscles. Lucky enough, a lady picked up my call and I was able to get an appointment right away. I was 5 mins early and the massage therapist started on time. The therapist had strong pressure yet very gentle and careful with my injury. My neck and shoulders are very tight she pays a lot of attention on the details. In terms of my shoulder injury, she right away elevated my shoulder to make it more comfortable. During the massage, I did inform her to have lighter pressure and she right away adjusted which I really appreciated that! I walked out with feeling much better and lighter. Suffering from shoulder injuries and my whole upper back is compensating. This experience helped me to get some relief. Thank you very much Sunny.
