Consistent pizza at a great price. Delivery service always prompt and friendly. Recommend for those nights you don't want to go out or cook.

FINALLY returned to this gem in the 4th Ave Food Park! I came here over a year ago and absolutely…read moreloved it. I am personally a big fan of Detroit style pizza and thought they did a pretty good job. While they aren't owned or affiliated with Satchel's anymore, the eatery still offers that same unique vibe of Satchel's. Ordering is simple, just order inside and they will call your name out when it is ready over an intercom. Everything is made fresh to order, so be prepared to wait at least 15 minutes for your pizza. It is served directly out of the oven and is very hot and fresh! They offer some specialty pizzas, but they have so many topping options it is super easy to curate your own pizza too. The pizzas are a nice size, about an 8x10 pan size. A good personal pizza size, but could easily be shared too. Along with pizzas, they offer salad, waffles, some desserts, and brews. This go around, I customized my own pie. I went with pepperoni (they use the cup pepperonis!), black olives, mushrooms, and basil. These toppings balanced out perfectly and there were ample amounts of each. The pizza was covered in toppings, with a nice sauce to cheese ratio. I love the cup pepperonis and find they hold a lot more flavor, bringing more to the pizza overall. The saltiness of the olives and the fresh mushrooms accompanied the pizza perfectly. The edges were nice and crisp, the sauce flavorful, and the cheese was divine. It wasn't soggy by any means either, which I GREATLY appreciate. This pizza was phenomenal, while it wasn't the most authentic Detroit style, it was certainly close enough! I also got a salad, which was underwhelming to say the least. It was supposed to come with "homemade croutons", but lacked them completely. Definitely not worth the $8.50...wouldn't recommend the salad. While the pizza is a little more expensive, especially considering they only offer takeout, the quality is present. And I do think the serving size is bigger, so I say it's worth it! Overall, I was super pleased with my experience and was more than happy I finally returned. The pizza was just as good as I remembered. Everything is made fresh to order and the service is great as well. I would for sure check this place out, especially if you are in the mood for some good pizza! Can't wait to return and try more.

I often went to SquareHouse Pizza thinking it would be like when they first opened, but it makes…read moresense after they separated from Satchels it would never be the same. I have come time and time again disappointed with the pizza size and the time it took to make it. Size: Pizza used to come in the size of their box! As you can see in my picture, that is no longer the case. It is no longer an actual square like its namesake but a rectangle. It reminds me of "all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares." And while it makes me chuckle to think how SquareHouse should know that. I am still disappointed in paying for that much of a pizza when I could get a larger one to share with friends at the same price point elsewhere. Service: Now I understand they can get busy but one time I waited 25 minutes with only one person ahead of me for my food -- a before anyone says anything. I ordered their waffles. Another time, they never called my name. They have a speaker but don't use it. It is a food park with tables everywhere. If you don't use the speaker system and know folks sit further than you can scream, then I think they should give a beeper. Ambience: It's at the food park which is great as long as it's not raining bc spaces to sit under covered areas are limited. And bc it was previously partnered with Satchels it has the same vibe. Overall, go once if you haven't but just be ready for disappointment Update since writing to address the comments of the business owner: 1) When I say first opened, I meant when it was called SatchSquared. 2) Size of the pizza: You're right I looked at pictures and updated. They aren't squares but from one years ago. They definitely filled the box more. 3) I sincerely don't appreciate being told about waiting or orders ahead and phone calls. I have come here more than 20 times and my experiences are always the same. I've come at opening, during high traffic times, and etc. And I am not someone to review after one instance of a place, I like to give them chances. I have lived in Gainesville for 17 years, and I'm very well aware of being polite to residents. I have definitely sat in the tables in the covered area close to the pick up window and have had to ask if my food was ready bc my name was not called and just to find out it was ready. I gave a suggestion about using beepers like the other places. I'm sorry my review caused some upset feeling but I stand by it. Service is not great. If you wanted to discuss via email then you could've politely said that. I won't be returning. Thanks!

Had an amazing first experience at New York Pizza Plus this summer!…read more I am not from this area, so I visited here for lunch on the recommendation of some locals. We stopped on a Thursday in July for lunch on our way into Gainesville. The store is located on the corner of a strip of several businesses. There is a shared parking lot for the strip, but we did not have any trouble finding a spot. The restaurant was healthily busy, but we were seated right away. The inside is cozy, but can accommodate larger groups in the back room. I was in a group of 5, and we all opted to eat at the lunch buffet. Having previously eaten at chain pizza buffets, I did not expect the variety and quality that this buffet offered. In addition to a plethora of pizza and bread options, there were various cold salads (such as chicken, tuna, traditional salad, etc), and hot pasta and Italian dishes. It was an amazing spread! I had to make sure my eyes were not bigger than my stomach, since everything looked so good. I started off with a plate of salads and cold items. I love a traditional salad bar, but my favorite from this was the pesto pasta. Next, I tried some of the hot Italian dishes and pizzas - including the meatballs, hot pasta, and several pizza varieties. I did not have a bite of food that I did not like. It truly all was so wonderful. Not only was the food awesome, but so was the price. For the lunch buffet, it was under $100 for five to eat (cannot recall exact price, but I believe it was around $14 or $15 per person). I do not think you would find a better deal for a better meal in the area than this, for the price. The staff and service were great. My drink was refilled several times, and I noticed the buffet was refilled frequently. No complaints on either front. I could not recommend this place enough! I would encourage everyone to visit for the lunch buffet, it is truly a deal you cannot beat. I can't wait until we're back in the area so I can visit here again!

Our appetizer and drink orders taken, we set to decide whether to try the Greek offerings or the Italian! Both looked delicious and the reviews I read previously really set my mouth watering for pizza AND the souvlaki! Unfortunately, my husband got his good old standby, Chicken Parmesan. We both tried different medium pizzas and we ordered Calamari Fritta (but asked for the peppers to not be included) as our appetizer. Have you ever had super fresh REAL calamari? Sliced fresh and hand breaded and then served to you? I had one other time in Tarpon Springs, and this was just as incredibly dished up for us! Marinara sauce and a spicy sweet sauce like a Mae Ploy was also served with them and two nice lemon slices. Stupendous! Our drinks? Perfectly done-- considering our excellent waiter, AJ, didn't know what an Arnold Palmer even was! What a surprising, talented young man! My souvlaki! Absolutely to die for! Wowza! The side I got was the garlic broccolini and YUMMMMM! My husband's chicken parm was so good that he devoured it BEFORE I could even snap a picture! LOL Our pizzas were some of the best we've ever had. The crust is so delicious and they sure don't hold back on the toppings. I consumed half of mine without even realizing it. Wow. I got the Lil' Sicily that has pepperoni, sausage, ricotta, basil and oregano. The hubby chose the Scoula pie that has pepperoni, Italian sausage, ground beef, mushrooms, onions and green peppers. Both were out of this WORLD! Needless to say, I think we just found our newest favorite spot for dinner. So many Greek dishes to keep me happy and plenty of Italian ones to keep the husband happy too! Don't know why we hadn't stopped in before now to try this place!! They are truly a wonderful restaurant and anyone would be hard pressed to find anything wrong with good food at good prices!
