I ordered the double double bacon with regular fries. The crinkle cut fries were fantastic. The burger- presentation, size and fresh produce were on point. Bacon was a little chewy. The problem I have had lately when trying new burger joints is seasoning. Why aren't they seasoning the meat more? I want flavor!! Before people set up negative reviews realize this is a fast food restaurant. Compared to other fast food places it's very good. Inside is not a remodeled gut job to make it look (clean) but i bet prices would increase if they did. I have been coming here in an almost cult like fashion. Every thing is made fresh and tastes amazing. The wait time is usually a 10 to 15 minute wait but its worth it with the quality. Try the shakes and grilled cheese. Cant go wrong. Try it out. read more

I ate here today because it was on my way to where I was going. I regret it. The food was not very good at all. The fries had really terrible seasoning salt which was not on the entire fry. The burger meat was not fresh, at least not recently. It had clearly been frozen, maybe more than once. The burger also had way, way, way too much onion on it. The soda was good, at least. The service was okay, although the lady at the counter couldn't seem to keep track of who got there order to go and who got it for dine in. It was crazy. I tried Five Star for the first time last year when I had my car across the street at Speedee Oil & Lube being serviced. I found the fare to be very good All American chow, good prices, good selection of various burger styles,hot dogs, various side orders, fried pickles, fried okra,zucchini, onion rings, very busy at peak times. I've been back several times and have found this establishment to be very consistent in the quality of their menu. I was excited that another burger place that wasn't a fast food chain had opened up, I like to spend my money locally as much as possible. The wait wasn't long and the staff was friendly but that is where the positive experience ended. I ordered a single bacon cheese burgers and fries, and 2 sides: fried zucchini and fried burritos. The food took about 15 to 20 minutes to prepare. The whole time I could smell this odor that fryers give off when you fry different items in the same fryer and don't change the oil enough; so right off the bat I was worried. Once I received my food I sat down and it was all downhill after the first bite. As far as I could tell, nothing was fresh. Everything was prepackaged or frozen. Everything had the taste and texture of the kind of burger patties and fried foods you would get at Costco or Smart and Final. which could have been fine if they just did more than just go from package to fryer/grill then to the plate. Nothing was seasoned, fried foods were Gummy and soggy with a greasy taste. It was a total lack of effort to do anything more than the bare minimum. It's hard to want to support any burger place that can't make a burger better than a fast food joint. With "In and Out" pushing out fantastically fresh burgers and fries every single day there just isn't an excuse. I will not eat at this place again and I will advise people to not eat there as well. The employees that I've met have all be personable, engaging, pleasant and professional. I am one of those annoying customers that asks for food to be made my way, and Five Star seems to love going out of their way to accommodate my eclectic tastes. The bottom line though is if the food is good and the place clean. Absolutely. Try the mushroom/swiss burger, a little piece of heaven in every bite and have them make you Shelli's Chocolate Peanut Butter No Milk Shaken Not Stirred Milk Shake.
