Last month I took in my 2011 Nissan Pathfinder for repair of the rear hatch. The hatch needed to be replaced. Five Star Auto Body did the work in a very reasonable amount of time and I was completely satisfied with all the work. When I picked up the vehicle, I was told that the right rear window had been replaced as well and that the one they put in did not have some element (heating?) in it. Could I return when it comes into the shop? Yes. Now, some unscrupulous repair shops may have hidden that fact from the customer in the hopes they would not know or notice. Good, if you have insurance. I had a minor fender bender and took my car to Five Star. They not only fixed the dents but also fixed a door that had a few minor dents from a previous owner and had nothing to do with the accident. They replaced a wheel and tire that were not touched by the accident. They overinflated the tire to more than 50 psi! They repaired the passenger side mirror that had a tiny bit of white paint from the previous owner, and also had nothing to do with the accident. When I picked up the car, I pointed out that a certain panel gap was not consistent with the one on the other side of the car. They told me this was because the bumper cover was not original equipment, something I found out later was untrue. So here's the point. If you are covered by insurance this is a good shop to go to. They will fix everything within 6 feet of the actual damage. I hope nobody runs a sting on them on behalf of an insurance company, because ye gads. So a few months later I decided to get an estimate to fix some minor damage underneath the car from one too many curb-scrapes in the parking lot at my workplace. I intended to pay out of pocket and not get insurance involved. They decided that a fender would have to be removed and painted because "it needs to be re-shaped." Long story short, the estimate was over $2300 and they would need to keep the car for a week. I then took the car to a competitor and they quoted me $300. Yes, you read that right. Just some small plastic pieces underneath the front of the car needed to be replaced, and they needed to keep the car for less than two hours. I took it to the competitor and they did a great job, including fixing that uneven panel gap. So. If you have insurance, these guys will fix your whole car and charge it to your insurance company. I will leave it up to you to decide if that is good or bad. read more

Just picked my Tundra from the Chehalis shop today, the paint was a perfect match and the alignment on the new parts was flawless. I have an extensive background in paint and body work coming from the mega yacht industry and when I arrived I looked at the truck before I even went in the office, it was perfect. A criminal busted a window in my car. I needed a shop to replace that window and get it done fast. I asked my auto repair shop, Hamm Autoworks, for a body shop reference and was told Five Star was hands down the best around. I called them and they told me to come by for an estimate, which turned out to be very fair. Brandon, the Estimator, was kind enough to put a temporary cover where the window had been while waiting for the new glass to arrive. They ordered the glass and installed it perfectly the next day. My car was broke into and my driver side window smashed. Caught the guy leaving for the day at 4:50pm. He immediately give me a quote (at a very reaonable price) and told me to leave the key with him overnight and my car will be done the next morning by 10am. They were able to get my truck in for repairs much sooner than the dealership. I picked it up yesterday , and it looks great. They made a couple of errors along the way, but fixed them quickly and cheerfully. The first was that they apparently had another truck they were repairing in at the same time, and were a little confused about which one was mine, so they gave me the wrong day for completing the work. However, they immediately called me back and let me know that my truck was actually ready and I could come get it, so that was good. The second was that my back up camera was not working when I picked up the truck, but they immediately fixed it. It only took about 15 minutes and they made it a priority. I was very pleased with their services, and I would use them again. I certainly understand how mistakes can be made along the way and I very much appreciated how quickly they were corrected. And, I love the way my truck looks. They also dealt with my insurance company regarding some additional issues, so I didn't have to. read more

I have had three experiences now with Five Star Auto Body (misleading name..) First, took our Acura MDX there after a rear end collision on the freeway. Pretty minor collision overall and really just needed the rear trim replaced (tow package took the brunt, had chipping paint but never addressed, not a big deal). They ordered the wrong color trim piece, also not a big deal, took a little longer than expected. Mostly no issues. Some arrangement made for rental to be provided, although I vaguely recall some issues with this. Second, took my Infiniti G37 in after a significant read-end collision while stopped at a stop light. Immediately a "you are just a number" feel from them and it seemed like some sort of inconvenience that I brought my car in. Okay, moving on. I got the call that my car was done and they did the standard walk through of everything done and basic customer inspection. Someone there did do a good job welding on a new rear end, including all of the interior work on the trunk itself, paint looked good, etc, all demonstrated during the walk through. The trunk lid was reused but had a very slight fitment issue, again not a big deal. As much trim as possible was re-used, but the trim around the trunk anchor/striker simply was gone. No big deal.. again. But I pointed out that my quarter panel still had significant scratches from where the bumper piece had OBVIOUSLY been scraping on it and there was a heavy sigh from, who I presume is the owner or at least the lead/manager , and he went and grabbed buffer to buff it out on the spot. Didn't really go away entirely, still there, but I just wanted to get out of there and deal with it later. I was told I would be notified when I receive my OEM badges since the trunk lid was re-used and painted, which would require re-badging to bring back to stock. I got the call and came in to retrieve it and the same guy had a complaint to another person working there about "having to drop what he was doing and go put on some badges". I came in just to grab them, I didn't even care about the badges for the car while I owned it. Third, I had an incident where I sustained minor damage outside of even being in the car. I took it in for an estimate... same guy. Zero eye contact, as few words exchanged as humanly possible, didn't seem like he wanted to exist around customers. Followed up by an absurd estimate. You knew it was going to be something where it wasn't worth the business? Then save us both time and say it. Dude... just go retire already! Update: The guys at Five Star took my Jeep in and spend time trying to fix the door handle but ended up needing to order a new one. Waiting to receive the part so they can replace the handle and all will be good. Upgrading them to 4 stars for taking accountability of the problem and fixing it. Took my Jeep in to fix a couple small dents, one in fender and other on hood. Fender looks good, like new, hood has some slight defects like it wasn't cleaned good or sanded before repainting, I can live with it. However they took my driver side outside door handle off for some reason and now the keyless entry doesn't work, the sensor doesn't open the door when I grab the handle and the little button on the handle doesn't lock the door. It seems they didn't plug something back in when they reinstalled the door handle. I have been too busy to call so I don't know if they will even fix it. GC read more

The first autobody shop (out-of-state) did a poor-quality job by cutting corners, shoddy work, etc. The second autobody shop (Mackins Autobody), inflated the estimates (previous & current damages), had terrible accountability (returning calls & emails, answering the phone, etc.), and failed to resolve the repairs. This is where Five Star Autobody came in. Five Star Autobody had my car completed within a week, they returned all phone calls, emails, and follow-up calls. Their sale technician, Marley, even called me after hours, the day I picked it up, to confirm I was pleased with repairs and provided assurance Five Star Autobody would correct anything that I wasn't satisfied with. State Farm was being extremely difficult because they wanted me to use a different shop but Hamm Auto (who we trust) highly recommended five star auto body. Brandon handled all of the insurance bs for me. I was worried I would have to pay out of pocket because of how annoying State Farm was being but Brandon assured me I wouldn't pay anything but my deductible and he was right! I would like to first say that I've held off on writing a review until Five Star had 2 opportunities to correct some mistakes, and today they decided that raking me over the coals was a better option than admitting they were wrong a fixing the issue. My truck was in a accident and based on reviews I chose Five Star Auto Body to fix it . At first the service was great and alot of the paint work was great too. They no doubt have some experienced technicians. They no doubt also have some lower level techs that need supervision and training as well. The problems began when i had to return the truck for some minor fitment issues along with missing fasteners in the mudflaps and wheel wells causing rubbing on the tires, and to install the bug sheild and window visors that were late to arrive. They had the truck for a little over a day and fixed the bumper fitment, mudflaps and bug shield. Those were fine. They incorrectly installed the window visors so that the windows won't shut properly . I looked up the instructions and an install video to confirm that they incorrectly installed them before emailing them to yet again return for more mistakes to be fixed . They returned my email and told me me that they were installed correctly according the technician that supposedly wasn't there to fix them today. Convenient timing I'd say . After they argued and insulted my intelligence I sent them the install video and asked Brandon to watch it. He told me to come down and they'd try to fix it or refund the cost of the visors. I then went down to their shop and showed him in person the mistake they made. He then handed me a check for $122.04 and told me his manager said they refused to fix the mistake and turned me away . I was told throughout this process that they " stand behind their work" clearly thay was smoke and mirrors. They decided after getting the money for my repairs that I was no longer worth messing with . Typical garbage business practices that are so common these days. If you want a complete job and after support , I'd look for another shop. They dont take the time to thouroughly check their work .Very disappointing that they chose to send me away to spend some of my day off so that I could have 4 windows that roll up! They said they stand behind their work? This doesn't seem to fit that narrative now does it? It would have been so easy for them to fix and they would be getting a good review but I guess the loss of one customer and his referrals was worth it. Honesty is hard to come by and it really sucks that it went down this way. read more

I called to arrange for them to work on my car. They said they could do it and gave me a date about 3 weeks out. The day before I called to confirm and was told they had no record of me. Finally they recalled who I was and said they didn't have the tools to do the job causing me major inconvenience. The tone was dismissive. My Toyota hatchback was rear ended and I wanted it fixed, I got an appointment to bring in the car, that was on a Monday, they told me it would be ready on Friday. I heard nothing until Friday when I called and they told me it would be the following week, maybe. Okay, I was not super happy. Monday came and I called, they explained about the damage that had not been visible, okay. The rest of the week was excellent communication on their part, my car was done on Thursday, the work is great and if it hadn't been for the first week of non communication they would have had 5 stars.
