Great reuse of a 19th Century firehouse in the heart of Norristown, now a museum and distillery for premium vodka, whiskey, gin, and special batches of other unique blends. Three story open barroom where once horse drawn firewagons were housed, with upper floor sleeping room for those once on duty and a rear space full of stainless steel distilling tanks and vats. Fascinating place I wish I had time to explore with a knowledgeable guide. Maybe next time, but tonight we were there for a political fundraiser for a local county official seeking reelection. Judging by his choice of party venue, the open bar and the look of everyone present to support him and wish him success, he has a strong chance of re-election. Even the local congressman was there to wish him well. With speeches and a good buffet (and that open bar) there was opportunity for limited sipping and light dining in the midst of the very loud din of conversation between the soapboxing. The distillery itself remained background to an excellent soiree. Will definitely return for more tasting and a tour.

Interesting spot, I wasn't sure about it from the outside as I don't like cramped spaces...but the second I went inside I was convinced. It's a big space, new but with a very relaxed feel. We went during happy hour and it was virtually empty at the time so I'd like to come back when it's busier but it was nice being able to chat and get an idea of the place. They have great cocktails and little snacks if needed but no kitchen. They do have nights with karaoke or yoga. Definitely worth checking out!

Great establishment with awesome drinks and bartenders. They have a vast assortment of cocktails centered around their made on site spirits. John & his wife were very welcoming and took time to tell us about the building, their spirits, how they came up with the name and their future plans. Love the fact that they kept the firehouse them. The building used to be The Humane Fire Company. Lots of memorabilia on the walls telling the history of the fire company. Very laid back atmosphere where you can just sit back and enjoy a cocktail, glass of wine or a craft beer.

Had an absolutely amazing time today when we stopped in. We came from Pittsburgh for a weekend trip to the area, and this place popped up as something to do. I'm a huge fan of local distilleries, so we figured why not pop in. We expected to get a drink, maybe buy a bottle, and move on to the next thing. We walked in and were welcomed like old friends! Our quick stop ended up being a few hours, we toured the building and the facilities and spent a long time bonding with everyone. Also - the drinks were on point! I am so excited to be adding the gin to my stock at home and can't wait to share the rum with my husband! Hoping we'll be back in the area again soon to see how far along the building has come :) thanks for such a great day!

I've been meaning to come here for a long time. Unfortunately, whenever I think about "where to go out tonight", Norristown never comes to mind. Finally did it. So glad I did. The bartender immediately poured me free tastings of their liquors. All were good. I was especially impressed with the gin, which did not taste like pine needles, but instead Rosemary, Thyme, and Black Pepper. I got a Tuscan Mule (Moscow Mule with gin instead of vodka). Absolutely delicious!! The ambiance is comfortable and industrial. I will be coming back.

Couldn't thank the owners more for such warm and welcoming hospitality. And the awesome tour of the distillery and it's extensive history. Which will only grow more history thanks to its owners and their beautiful vision. (Of course their spirits and cocktails were more than worth it, we wouldn't think of leaving without a bottle of their white whiskey) We could not have ended such a perfect day any better. We will definitely stay in touch. Friends - if you find yourselves in the Norristown / Philly area. Stop in, it'll be more than worthwhile. I am ecstatic to return and watch the grow of this gorgeous place, the owners, and the successful restaurant it will surely become.

Delicious cocktails. I especially like the vodka and American creme. Real fruit juices, not syrups. Off street parking.

Everything we got was top notch, and even the starters were delicious. I got a side of collard greens and they were super spicy, just like i like them - just like it's hard to find! I had some of my husband's roast duck sandwich and it was phenomenal. When we go back (and we *will* go back), I will get it again. I had the burnt ends sandwich which was also tasty, and the pimento cheese on it was perfect. The drinks were good! My margarita and Texas ranch water were both refreshing, plus they also offer a bunch of Bald Birds Brewing beers. Fyi, they are the same owners as the brewery, and I have always liked their beer. Overall a great spot and much needed in Havertown.

The bbq platter with half rack ribs, potatoe salad, and Mac and cheese is just giving me great vibes to explore the area. The food was delicious, starting with the cornbread with chai butter moving to the warm Mac and cheese alongside the refreshing potatoes salad and the half ribs with BBQ sauce to wrap it all together all for $30. I'll be taking some home for sure.

The bartender told us to shut up when were talking amongst ourselves and threatened to call the cops on us when we were peaceful and just having a good time amongst our group. No curse words were used within our group to disrupt the other customers. During the event, the event host was chugging drinks behind the bar. It was hard to hear him sometimes as the microphone was canceling out as we were sitting on the side of the bar away from the main crowd. Please do not visit this establishment if having a good time at a bar is considered being a nuisance. Our entire crowd were a group of 40 year olds just trying to spend a night out without the kids. It is heart breaking to know that even having some clean fun is a problem in 2025.

There were a lot of things that I missed being close to when I made the move from East Passyunk Ave…read moreto Ardmore. But one of the things that I missed the most was being able to visit Manatawny Still Works for wonderful cocktails and whiskey purchases on the regular. Aside from the very wonderful caffeinated concoctions from Char & Stave (https://www.yelp.com/biz/char-and-stave-ardmore) and the ones that I'd try more of at Ripplewood if they didn't have such a wonderful beer list (https://www.yelp.com/biz/ripplewood-whiskey-and-craft-ardmore), the amount of good cocktail bar options in Ardmore has been kind of stagnant by comparison. So when I saw a table for Manatawny Still Works during the first Ardmore Rock N' Ride and learned that they were opening a new outpost on Lancaster Ave, I was ready to get reacquainted with one of the best. And since then it's led to me also imbibing at what now might be my favorite Manatawny! Since the location is so close to the train station, its the perfect place to imbibe and kill time in before grabbing a train to Philly. And whether you enjoy relaxing at a corner table and taking in the crowd, getting a group together in a more private table setting, or grabbing a barstool and watching the cocktail-making magic, this location has the perfect table space for you. For Cocktails I love true that they hold true to the style of the other tasting rooms by offering signature cocktails, classics, and new variations of classics like a Maple or Italian old fashioned. But I especially appreciate how the signature cocktails pay homage to classic songs like "Cherub Rock", "Be My Druidess", and "Gold Dust Woman". Toss in new cocktails that rotate with the seasons and latest releases, whiskey flights and a whiskey of the month club for those who love it, and a good weekly happy hour, and there's plenty to enjoy here!

Lion and I have been big fans of Manatawny Still Works for at least three years, probably longer…read more My first experience with them was at a YEE at their Passyunk Ave Tasting Room, where I fell in love with their Honey Whiskey poured over vanilla ice cream - yeah, it's like 3-4 of the deadly sins in one swoop delicious. When we heard they were opening a Tasting Room in Ardmore, then, we were delighted. Within walking distance means we don't need to flip a coin to determine the Designated Driver or, alternatively, take an Uber. We eagerly headed over there for a pre-dinner cocktail. Some things to understand: This is a Tasting Room. There are no bar snacks, there is no food offered of any kind. There are no screens to watch "the game". The focus here is on the whiskey, rum, brandy, etc. They offer only Manatawny spirits. Don't ask for another brand to be used in a cocktail. They don't have them. You can purchase bottles of their spirits to take home. This is a really cool place. We were greeted warmly. The decor is very sleek yet warm with mix of stainless steel and warm dark woods. Sinatra and the Rat Pack were playing on the sound track. Our bartender was friendly and professional, answering questions and making sure we had what we needed without having long conversations, he was good at reading signals, in other words. There's a comfy bar, some 4 top high tops and a small glassed in room with three 4 top tables that we were told could be reserved for a private tasting or event. It's small but nice. Lion got the Manhattan which he declared was very nice. I got the Apple Brandy Sangria which is now my New Favorite Drink Of All Time. Yes, better than Honey Whiskey over ice cream. They don't have ice cream now so if you want that: 1. Buy a bottle - worth it 2. Walk down to 900 Ice Cream and get their John Stockton vanilla - the best vanilla on the planet 3. Go. home, scoop ice cream, pour whiskey and experience dietary heaven. Parking if you're driving is behind the building, metered. Also very close to transit - Ardmore train and bus stations are like a block away at most. Go, order the sangria, fall in love. There's a better than even chance. that I'll be there.
