Fantastic gin made right in Manayunk! Great place to sample some gin and moonshine and take a bottle of handcrafted gin home!

The bad news: the last time I reviewed this spot was over 5 years ago!…read more The great news: IT HAS JUST GOTTEN BETTER! Admittedly, when we used to go, it was during a time we could only really sit outside and enjoy our bevs, or take them to go, and NOW we get to bask in the warm lighting, the INCREDIBLE soundtrack, and the perfect energy of the staff, so I think it's about time to re-review. Four Humours is the place I'd take a date (in fact, I did bring my husband last night), a girlfriend, a group getting ready to hit the town, OR for a night cap. it's so versatile - it can be whatever you need it to be. Like the Room of Requirement, only boozier. The crew gets SO creative with their cocktails - we've sipped on ones featuring pho-infused agave, chicken schmaltz-washed bourbon, carrot and pineapple foam, pandan - and they're always switching it up seasonally and I can not WAIT to find out what's coming this fall. Cocktails range from $15-20, pretty similar to most of the neighborhood, but they are STRONG. I started buzzing after 2 the last time I went. I love this for the jump-off to a night out or, as a mother of 3 who's hustling home for the babysitter, a one-stop shop. Added bonus: you can order food delivered to the bar! Pro-tip, if you get pizza share with the bartenders. If you order South Sichuan you just might melt from the SPICE level. No matter what you're doing with the night, you're gonna have a great time AND a few great bevs!

I got the tour as a Christmas present and finally used it. It was one of the best gifts I got. Tim,…read moreour tour guide, met our group at the designated location and greeted us with enthusiasm. The transportation van was clean and comfortable. Tim is very personable and knowledgeable about the breweries. He started the tour out by explaining the "rules" of the tour but he did it with a good blend of humor and seriousness. We (the group members) were asked to introduce ourselves and tell what our favorite style of beer is. The tour consisted of visiting 3 breweries. The breweries were Evil Genius, Love City, and Triple Bottom. Tim did explain that the breweries are not always the same for each tour. At the first brewery, Tim explained the brewing process. While he was explaining the process we were given samples of four different beer styles. There was a pitcher of each style so, if someone wanted it, a refill of the sample was provided. When the sampling was done, we were given plenty of time to look at merch and use the restroom before driving to the next stop. At the second brewery, we were given another sampling of their beers. Because there was no need to explain the brewing process again, Tim provided a little history lesson of the brewery building. At this brewery we were also given french fries from the on site food truck. Once gain, we were not rushed and had ample time to shop and use the facilities. The third brewery was in walking distance from the second so there was no need to board the van. It was really nice weather so the block and a half walk was pleasant. The third brewery sampling followed the same format of the first two. The selection of beer was based on the groups stated preferences when we started. The beer samples and fries were all included in the tour cost. Obviously, any additional purchases (like full beer pours, mixed drinks, wine, or merch) were not included in the price of the tour. This was explained by Tim earlier in the tour. After we concluded at the third stop, we were taken back to the meeting location and we parted ways. I will do this tour again and I highly recommend it!

The pace of the tour didn't make you feel rushed. The amount for sampling was very reasonable. Do something different with a group when in Philly. Tim does not disappoint.

Stopped in after a Yelp event walking thru Fishtown and happen upon the tasting room…read more Decided to enjoy the Whiskey Flight which included the White Whiskey which was clean and simple to get started, the Four Grain Whiskey that had a more intimate taste slowly moving to the darker Whiskeys. The Honey Whiskey I knew I was going to like as it had a sweet sip that didn't burn like the two prior. I could see myself drinking it neat or in a cocktail. The remaining two had similar tastes. Again not an expert on Whiskey so I know the Honey won me over with the pronounce sweet finish vs the more traditional whiskeys in the other tasting glasses. Regardless stop in before a night out or a serene way to walk throthrough Fishtown feeling a little bit warmer during the fall months.

There are some interesting takes and combinations and the ingredients themselves are tasty. I went with the cardamon old fashioned, which was fair. I wasn't inspired to buy one of their somewhat pricey bottles of take-home spirits. The vibe itself is somewhat small which wouldn't necessarily bother me but we happened to go on a Sunday afternoon where there were two groups of patrons that were so so loud, borderline screaming. I'm all for having a good time but it was bordering excessive. And the service was strangely slow. It took a fair amount of time to get a menu, when there were essentially no other new people waiting and the bartender was cleaning her station, and getting the drinks/check took a good amount of time. With a lot of other options in the area I probably would chose something else.

I got the gold dust woman (sage gin - pretty yummy, but not too strong. Simple and elegant.) and the Bela Lugosi's Dead (AMAZING! Gin, frothed egg white, and FALL SPICE!!). My friend got the Negroni, which was impeccably strong, if you're into that sort of thing (wasn't really for us). The bartenders were friendly & fun, and after 930pm the bar cleared out enough that we finally got a seat. Be warned- it's expensive at 12$/cocktail, but the ingredients and care put into their creations make it worth it.

When I recently moved back to the city, they had a Yelp offer so I headed back to refresh my memory on how I liked them. One sip of a frozen piña colada and I was assured that I'd enjoyed them. When was the last time I had a frozen piña colada? Whenever it was (years ago), it was not here or I'd still be ordering them. So refreshing, and not cloyingly sweet. Ended up having two drinks (my limit). The frozen mojito was delicious too. When it's cooler, I'll be back to try a more sophisticated cocktail. But this summer, it's all about those frozen delights. Bartender told us that they try to use seasonal fruit; peach is up soon, I heard. I'll have to try it--purely for Yelp research purposes. ;)
