Well they have the option to sit outside, inside within the tent( we sat and was warm enough!), or completely inside at a table or at the bar area. Our waiter was good but certainly busy, which we are respectful of. We started with Buffalo wings and didn't get any sort of silverware, which we are okay with but our parents not so much. The chicken wings were crunchy, and had enough spice. The guys wanted more of a kick but if you're a mild type of girl- they are hot enough. Dinner was a Cali burger, bacon cheeseburger, Ahi Tuna Tacos, and Cajun chicken burger without the Cajun sauce ONTOP. The burgers are all huge! But was a little disappointed they basically the bun fell apart. My MIL had to cut her burger in half to completely eat hers. The sandwiches all come with fries. They fries were my favorite! Perfectly crunchy! 1000% loved the fries. Then we just sat for a long while- they did get busy but it felt like we were forgotten. We finally got dessert a fried donut, pecan pie, and a slice of pumpkin pie. The fried donut comes with vanilla ice cream and caramel ONTOP. The donut stays perfectly fried and crunchy! I'm not into pie but everyone finished theirs therefore I am going to go ahead and say the "mmm" when I asked how it was, was enough. They ran out of mugs but hey- at least we got to go cups and could walk around downtown with our coffees. It was my first time there and it was pretty good. So the name of this establishment is Downtown Burger at Five Points Cafe....one would expect sensational burgers. This was not the case. Dry and overlooked. I ordered the marinated burger...where was the marinade? The onion straws on top were tasteless and the fried egg on top....cooked hard. Just terrible could not get half through it. Husband ordered the Downtown burger.....dry and tasteless. So sad. The fries were the best thing on the plate. Cold slaw, tasteless. We also ordered Nachos, cheese from a can smothered in hot peppers and drizzled with chili, probably canned as well. My Mohito, was disappointing to say the least. First time last time. I went to 5 points for lunch about a week ago (on small business Saturday). I was very happy by both the service and the food. Myself and my girlfriend both ordered the California Wrap. It was chicken cutlet, avocado, onion and chipotle mayo. I had mine with fries and she got hers with onion rings. It was DELICIOUS. About a week later, we ordered for dinner, I had the steak sandwich on a wrap, and she actually ordered the same California wrap because she really enjoyed it. It's a casual vibe, they have outdoor seating with heaters. I can't wait until the spring comes around as they usually have live music. Yelping with the help of Groupon: It's a nice combination as you'll get to try out (or revisit) a new place while getting your dollar's worth. That would be the case this past Thursday night as Groupon brought my girlfriend and I to Five Points to sample some grub. The result was tasty and return-worthy, though maybe in a better dining location within the restaurant. I say a better dining location in that the setup of Five Points isn't large. There are a handful of outdoor seats, but with the weather reaching nippy levels, eating amongst the fresh air is less appealing. So inside is where it's at...unless there's a swarm of people infiltrating the bar (which is right next to the seating area) creating a conundrum for where to sit. Luckily for us, there was a tiny, third option of decent temperature. A small room outside with tarp walls and a heat lamp was where we ended up. It separated us from most of the indoor insanity, even though the temperature was still a few degrees cooler than usual. On to the food. The Groupon allowed for any appetizer and two entrees (minus specials). The menu is large-ish so there's enough variety in choice. Stuck in deciding between a few apps, we landed on the spinach and artichoke dip. I've been intrigued in finding quality non-chain dips that do the trick and this one was a winner. Tricolor chips and a more cheesier than creamy dip (full of flavor) made up this starter. Main dishes were the pulled pork sandwich (for her) and the Downtown burger (for me). Mine was piled with fried onion straws, bacon, three kinds of cheeses, and their secret Five Star sauce (shh don't tell anybody). A side of fries and slaw rounded out the plate. It should be mentioned that the bun is no joke as theyre borderline artisanal and worked well along with all the cheesy, onion and bacon flavors. The burger itself was also a well cooked piece of meat that had a nice juiciness to it. Fries were crispy and resembled ones you might find at a diner. Not to be overlooked was the small side of slaw. Light and creamy with a refreshing taste. I also took a bite of my GF's pulled pork and it was rich in BBQ meatiness. Throughout the meal, there was mild concern in that our table was a little wobbly, so I had a few moments of wondering what would be my next step if I ended up with wet/dirty pants due to spillage. Luckily, we survived the meal with no casualties. And what took this negative portion away was the friendly and attentive waitress (filling waters without asking and cracking one or two well timed jokes). It completed a solid dinner. Overall, Five Points struggles a bit with their feng shui, but makes up for it in food and service. For cinco de mayo weekend they had great drink specials and Mexican themed decor, so much fun! I tried the fish tacos... UH MA ZING. I honestly was not expecting them to be that great but they definitely were. You get 3 fish tacos served with French fries. I'm a French fry girl for life and these were seasoned well and perfectly cooked. My sister had the shrimp fajitas which are served on a steaming hot plate fresh off the grill with beans, rice and tortillas. Also so yummy! My daughter and I came here religiously on Tuesdays throughout the summer. We have never had a bad time or bad food. They often would have live music playing on the patio and kids eat free on Tuesdays! We came in today and had another exemplary meal and a wonderful waitress named Chloe helped us out. My daughter wanted our dog to sit with us at the table and the restaurant had no qualms about it. In the past the waiters and waitresses always been friendly and the two managers that I've met are awesome! Ultra casual; worn, woobly wooden tables inside. Plastic cups and appetizer plates. It was cold inside (on a 35 degree February night). Vanilla milkshake was good. Taste like vanilla bean, almost like a Starbucks Vanilla Bean Frappuccino but not as ice creamy as the frap. It comes in a plastic dome (for the whipped cream) to-go cup even if you stay, weird but makes it easy when you're ready to split and take your shake. Guess that's where the cafe part comes in although it seemed bar-like when 80% of the patrons are at the bar. Burger was good. Fresh toppings. Weird that the waiter didn't ask me how I wanted it cooked, so if you like it any other way (besides some pink inside) be sure to proactively tell them. The ketchup wasn't good so I ate my burger without it. I didn't like the fries they use for the regular (white potato) fries so sweet potato fries were a better option to me, they even come with a dipping sauce. Used to be my go to restaurant. Love the food and would go a few times a month for the atmosphere and live music. However, tonight was a horrible experience. Ordered from them on door dash and they sent entirely the wrong food. The ticket on the bag was correct but they mistakenly put the wrong food in the bag. Called the restaurant and they refused to do anything. Told me they would remake it but I had to pick it up... um doesn't that defeat the point of having food delivered? Then they tried to blame door dash, who had nothing to do with it and told me to call door dash. Good food but horrible, horrible customer service. They should learn how to treat customers better, at the very least they could've delivered the food or spoken to me in a nice way for their error. {Take Out Review} I ordered take out twice here with some coworkers. Five Points is a popular place, especially during Friday's & Weekends. Live bands always draw a crowd & outdoor patio dining is a plus. Located on Main St in Sayville, you should be able to find street parking or park in the lots only a few steps away. I have only had take out here and both times I wasn't overly satisfied with the food. The first time I ordered a Steakhouse Burger with fries- The burger was extremely dry and under seasoned. I wasn't a huge fan of the bun, it really didn't go with the meat. The french fries were standard and the complimentary coleslaw wasn't great. The second time I ordered the Buffalo Beef Burger and again I wasn't impressed. The buffalo sauce was sub par, basically tasted store bought. The burger again was super dry but there was a nice amount of blue cheese on top of the burger. Again the fries were disappointing and so was the coleslaw. The slaw was actually warm when I started eating it...yuck. Maybe if I dine in the burger wouldn't be as dry? Not sure but the burgers were down right disappointing. All and all I think Five Points has so much potential but I probably wouldn't order take out from them again. They are pricey for a burger joint and my orders have been sub par. Got some takeout today and the food was very good. Grilled chicken sandwich was excellent. The maple mayo is so yummy and I had asked for more and all I got was two for the four orders I placed. The name was made famous by the actual lower Manhattan Five points, only without all the gang warfare and poverty (Gangs of New York... anybody? Anybody? Beuller?) Ok, so these days, Sayville is something of a happening little burg on the south shore of Long Island and Five Point cafe literally sits at the crossroads of the main shopping / dining area. Location, location, location. That being said, the best location in the world won't do much without good food - and Five Points scores. The main attraction are the burgers and they hit a home run with all of them. Big, juicy and tasty as hell. Fear not though, there are plenty of other options for you peeps trying to steer clear of drippy red meats. Appetizers were very good and the night we were there they had live acoustic music. Beer and wine only at this place, which I sort of agree with- it is not really a "bar" but definitely a restaurant with a bar... that being said, the wines and beers are a decent selection and go well with the foods there. There is outdoor seating which is nice except for the corner location- even though it is screened by plants etc, it is still only feet away from 5 streets worth of traffic. I've only been here once, but that will be the one and only time i go. Although the outdoor seating is great and it's in a nice location, the outside area is small and a little too close for my comfort. To start, we ordered the Rum Punch and Spinach Artichoke dip. Safe choices, I felt. The Rum Punch wasn't bad, didn't taste like there was much alcohol in it, but it was a Sunday so I guess there was no need for a strong buzz. The dip on the other hand, they couldn't have done a worse job trying to cover up the fact that they just placed the container of dip in the microwave, removed the pastic covering, and put it on a tray with nachos. I could have saved myself the $10 that was and went to the frozen food isle and called it a day. For lunch, we ordered burgers, which they claim to have the "best" burgers. Don't they all.. Ordered a burger with avocado, cheddar cheese, and a chipotle ranch dressing. It sounds awesome, but for all of those good toppings to be on there, the burger was pretty bland and the roll was way too big. As for the staff, the waiter we had only came around to give us our drinks, food, and the check. It all starts with asking the girlfriend what she wants to eat (yes like a Ryan gosling meme) but this time she decided relatively quickly on the burger spot. I wasn't so sure but as soon as I walked up to Five Points the broiled burger smell sizzling through the air, wafting off the flattop, and dancing around my senses, made me all the more confident, and as soon as I sunk my k-9's into this perfectly prepared patty, the Swiss coleslaw & Russian burger of the day, I warped swiftly out of my haze of for some reason thinking I didn't like the place as much as I did. I realized I was holding a grudge from the first couple times I went after they opened - Back then I happened to order things they just never wound up having. I've been back tenfold since then and I've really never been let down. I think the chicken burger is great with whatever you'd like as a topping (I suggest adding sautéed onion) This particular visit my burger was huge, sloppy, and fantastic! It was cooked perfectly medium rare and the fries were crispy as always. We ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich and added avocado (another hack I highly suggest) again, this sandwich was glorious and messy and the best bun ever! Their iced tea is a weird thing to review but I absolutely love that stuff too! And while we're on the subject of drinks, if you ever stumble upon the jellyfish from their cocktail menu, get it! It's this wonderful, refreshing, fresh muddled berry and vodka drink you won't forget. The service depends on who you get, this time we got Kate and she rocked; Last time, it was slow as molasses and I think cobwebs started to form in the corners of my eyes. Well when your sign outside reads...downtown burgers at five points cafe...you better have good burgers. I am a big fan of Reeses in Patchouge. The burgers there are awesome. I was hoping that Five Points would be ok, at least there would be another burger option locally. Well they are better then ok. Everything from the rolls, lettuce & meat are fresh and tasty. I have been there twice and what I really like is the consistency of the product. The restaurant itself is very small. They only have like 10 tables and an average sized bar to sit at. Both times there were long waits. If you don't mind having a beer and waiting, then no problem. It will be great when the cold is gone and they open the outside. It doesn't show up on Yelp immediately and you have to search "Five Points Cafe" and not "Downtown Burger...". My husband and I like this place because of the outdoor seating. The outdoor area is on a busy street corner but the shrubs and small trees create a separate private area. It's nice to sit outside once the weather gets warm. Today we had burgers, something we rarely eat but decided we needed some variety. Both burgers were huge on a huge roll, cooked perfectly to order (medium and medium-rare) and came with okay fries. The food was tasty but nothing to rave about. Add a star if you really like burgers! They do serve sandwiches and some entrees, but the menu is limited. The service is fine. No complaints from me. I would note that it looks like a decent place to grab a drink and a beer or listen to some live music if that's what you are looking for in the area. Anyway, I had their downtown burger which is a burger with cheddar, American, and mozzarella cheese, bacon, onion straws, and some kind of barbecue sauce. It was a pretty large burger and they made a legit medium rare attempt. It was, overall though, a fairy average burger.
