Noel helped us out while we were in a pinch. Or, better said, while we were about to be pinching loafs. Basically, our shitter was broken. My lovely better half decided to flush beef stew down the toilet instead of pitching it in the garbage, and no amount of plunging and DranO pushed out the blockage. Worse, it was St. Patrick's Day, we had a green beer keg, and guests' bowels were moving into dangerous explosion territory. Our maintenance guy, who was out of town, gave us Noel's number, so we gave him a call. Vision was fuzzy but he seemed to arrive fairly quickly. Shortly after arrival he shoved his snake in our hole, pushed in and out for a few minutes, and soon after our pipes were cleaned, our toilet was flushing, and smiles were on our faces. I had a mystery wet spot on my carpet, right outside the master bathroom. At first, I blamed my cat even though it was very unlike him. I cleaned it up and went about my day. Several hours later it was still damp. Once it stayed damp for several days, we knew we had an issue. There is only concrete under the carpet, no pipes run there, and no water spots on the walls or ceilings. A complete mystery! The first plumber that came out looked around for literally 3-5 minutes and suggested it was our toilet. It could be... but seemed like a guess. Next 2 plumbers did not return my call. Sometimes the third time is the charm. We had an insidious leak from our upstairs bathroom to our main floor. We had two other resources come out and no one could figure it out. Noel is the best! We are new homeowners who found themselves with the most uncloggable toilet ever just a month after moving into our 1912 house in Chicago. Being motivated DIY'ers, we attempted to unclog the toilet ourselves, but after water started seeping out beneath the toilet, we knew it was time to call a professional. We found Noel on Yelp, and, after reading many of his great reviews, decided to give him a call around 7:30 in the morning. Noel came out to our house by noon that day. Turns out we didn't have a clogged toilet... we actually had a collapsed pipe beneath our basement. Noel diagnosed the problem and came back on a Saturday at 8 a.m. sharp to breakup the concrete in the basement and replace the pipe. While working on the problem, Noel also offered many maintenance suggestions and ideas for the kitchen renovation we plan to do in the spring. As you can about imagine, I'm not interested in fussing with maintenance people. I like them to respond to a call, assess the situation, and fix it in a timely and (hopefully) a cost-friendly manner. Noel did just that. He answered the phone the first time I called and was able to stop by my condo that same day! Noel was hired to fix a clogged bath drain a couple of weeks back - and he fixed everything perfectly. He met our tenants at our rental property and fixed the drain so it's working seamlessly. This man deserves any amount of business he wants in this world, or the next, if they have pipes up there. In the late 1990s I needed a plumber to untangle the "Three Stooges" hornet's nest of plumbing in my old house, and was referred to Noel. Fast forward to the "flash freeze" of January 2013, which burst the water pipes behind my drywall: Noel responded in minutes, came over within an hour, provided a very fair estimate and finished the repair in a day. Two additional factors aren't make-or-break, but are telling of the kind of work and business ethic Noel exemplifies, which I thought vanished a generation ago: First, he approached the problem with great care, pinpointing the source of the problem and minimizing how much drywall he would have to remove... saving me hundreds of dollars on the NEXT contractor I'll need to call. I am writing this review for other first time home buyers (like me) who don't have much experience dealing with plumbers and contractors. I recently bought a multi-level townhouse and after a few months of moving in noticed some water stains in living room ceiling due to some leakage in guest bathroom upstairs. I reached out to Noel after reading all good reviews here and sent him pictures after our phone conversation. I didn't hear from him for 2 days and then suddenly on Saturday when I am out shopping, he calls and wants to come over to diagnose the problem. Though it was short notice and very unprofessional, I allowed it. I asked him how much it would cost (a rough estimate range) but he didn't answer and said it could take 5 min or 2 hour based on what he finds and he charges $135/hr. Considering my handyman had already told me that most probably it was a drain pipe leak, I thought it will be an hour maximum. He arrives on time (3PM) but I was running 5 min late due to traffic. I let him in around 3:08PM when he came with few tools and had to make a few more trips to his van to get more tools and ladder during the 2+ hrs he was there. He also made 2 big holes in living room ceiling and 1 in guest room den to tell me what my handyman told me without even touching anything. Noel did find some other minor issues with shower head. All the hole digging was done by 5PM but he was lounging around my home until 5:20PM and then gives me a bill for 2.25 hrs ($309). He also wanted to recommend someone who could cover the drywall and paint it. I was like WTF--you spend max 2 hrs and honestly what was done in 2 hrs could have been done in 1 hr or less if he had not insisted on me examining what he found and unnecessary chatting. He asks to pay me $300 as he worked his B*** off in this job (I was like isn't that the reason why you charge $135/hr). I work as an IT consultant but I never charged anyone for my inefficiency- I guess his previous Lawyer experience still guides him. The next day he gave me an estimate of 3 hrs to fix but I rejected and told him the reason- I didn't like his work ethics. He sent me a refund check for 0.25 hrs and this is why he is getting 1 star from me. My handy man fixed the leak, covered the drywall and painted the following day for $250. Henceforth, I will stick with my handyman and reach out to others if he cannot do something. Suggestion: Charge a flat rate for diagnosis and hourly for fixing. read more

Nole came out the same day I called. I had some water coming thru my ceiling after my wife took a bath. Nole quickly isolated the issue to the overflow drain and waste drain seals. He replaced both using elbow grease and years of experience. I would have ruined my tub trying to get the waste drain out but Nole didn't even make a scratch. Thank you so much Nole. I called Noel on a Saturday because I had to get some pipes repaired on my gas stove top and I needed plumbing redone and a new faucet installed all due to new countertops being put in. I was moving in on Monday and needed this done ASAP. I fully expected Noel to tell me he could come out on Monday at the earliest. No, not Noel. He came out that day. Within about 3 hours. He showed up, got both projects knocked out and was just a pleasant guy to hang with the whole time. He really took care of us and I hope I never need a plumber again, but I know I will. Noel came through for this first time homeowner! My water heater broke and began leaking at 10am on a Saturday and I texted Noel. He immediately responded even though he was in route to a job and continued to communicate with me all day to help. With a combination of my willpower to get a new unit myself that day, with his ability to squeeze me in on a Saturday afternoon, I had a new water heater up and running within 10 hours of it breaking. Additionally, he showed me how to use features on the new unit and explained what is most important in an emergency scenario.
