Ate there two nights in a row while visiting familky in the area. Plenty of choices, quality cuisine, great service. Night one (no pic), we had the gnocchi appetizer and the portobello burger. All quite tasty and plenty of food! Not to mention the awesome bread! Night two (pix) included the chicken feta meatballs (BIG YUM) and grilled asparagus, as well as the thai coconut hot pot with salmon. I've been there for lunch on several occasions as well and never disappointed! I'll continue to frequent it when in town! They do take call-ahead seating which helps as it's quite popular!

I am ent to Five Loaves on a weekday afternoon around 2 pm and the place was relaxed but still pretty busy. I got a corner table and was able to do some work with my laptop using their free WiFi while I had my late lunch- pretty sweet setup. I had the half arugula salad with white balsamic dressing and half marinated chicken sandwhich. They were both very good. Next time I would ask for the bread to be untoasted. They toasted it with butter and pesto on it but I would prefer just bread.

Party of 2. We ordered ahead and it was ready promptly: two Caesar salads with chicken. Nice atmosphere and an outdoor seating area as well. I was kind of disappointed we weren't staying to eat because it was a wonderful day to have been sitting out on their patio. Great salad! The restroom was clean and neat.

Great BLT sandwich. Fast, friendly service. Lovely patio. Visiting for the first time. Suggested by a tour guy.

Five Loaves Café is always delicious and a good experience. The staff is always very friendly and greet you with a smile. The staff are consistently knowledgeable about celiac and gluten intolerance. There are many gluten free options. The gluten free cornbread is always excellent. The overall, rustic, homegrown vibe with unique environmental design intertwined with tables with interesting typography, make the prefect dining atmosphere.

When you walk in immediately the place is packed. There is staff all around to help you. and very respectable. The speed of the service is OK. The place smells amazing with the food and the food is very delicious. I like their drink options. Bar side is good. overall place is a 8/10

I love Five Loaves. The bar is always my place when I am alone and feel so comfortable as the staff are amazing. It is a great family place and I have brought many children here and they love it. The food is so good clean and fresh. Love the salads which are topped with tortellini's, yum. Next time I will take pictures of the food but for now my drink will have to do.

4.5 I love 5 Loaves! Came here for date night and the service was quick, and the food is not outrageously expensive. We got the red wine braised short rib and the tri-colored tortellini (both were really good, but I liked the tortellini more!). I would not order the bruschetta again - it was a special. We also had a bottle of red wine (which are half priced on Wednesdays). The inside of the restaurant is getting a little out dated, but overall great vibes for the night!

I was in Mount Pleasant getting a golf lesson and stopped in Five Loaves off of Anna Knapp and this place is always hopping during lunchtime!! The atmosphere is always upbeat and sizzling hot!! I got lucky with one last seat at the Bar!! The food here is always fantastic and on point! I had the Whole Ultimate BLT on a Croissant, just amazing may be my new go to for lunch here at Five Loaves!! Easy 5 Stars !!

Food is always fantastic. Lots of options for those who have gluten allergies- love to bring my bestie and mom here who do. The specials are always changing which is a plus! can't forget to order the espresso martini

I was a huge fan of the Five Loaves downtown and was super sad when they closed. I finally had some extra time for lunch during the week and checked out the Mt pleasant location. The location is big with lots of indoor tables, booths, bar seats, and an outdoor covered patio. Seating was quick and service was great as usual. I had the half smoked salmon salad and three soup sampler. The soups are fantastic - I particularly like the tarragon crab and the broccoli and cheddar. The salmon salad was very good and the half portion was sufficient for me. Overall a great visit to Five Loaves and I'm hoping to make it back soon!

I had lunch today at Five Loaves and realized that I hadn't written a review in 10 years! Five loaves is one of my favorite restaurants in Charleston I enjoy Five Loaves for lunch and dinner and both never disappoint! Today's lunch was exceptional. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was excellent. I had the soup sampler-portobello blue cheese, asparagus dill, and tomato basil. I also had a half portobello burger sandwich on baguette. It was the perfect lunch. I highly recommend trying Five Loaves when you get a chance!

I hate to even mention how good lunch is here, because it's already busy. But can't gatekeep on a fresh deal this good. The half sandwiches and salads are huge and so good! The soups are better than moms- don't tell. Friendly warm service, cute patio, a bar that is welcoming all combine with fair prices for a winning lunch. Just look at that chicken salad half sandwich!

We sat inside late afternoon and loved the atmosphere. We started with the Pineapple Martini and the T&T Martini (olive oil washed vodka, vermouth & blue cheese stuffed olives). Everything was so flavorful that no extra salt or pepper was needed. The shrimp & grits had the perfect spicy kick -- seriously delicious. We skipped dessert, but the highlight afterward was spotting a dolphin swimming through the channel. Such a perfect ending to a really enjoyable meal. Definitely recommend! Our waitress was friendly, brought our drinks quickly and took our orders. We specifically requested apps and dinner not be on top of each other. As we were finishing our apps a waiter/ busboy came with meals. I asked, "Could you clear these dirty plates?" " Not with my hands full" l was told. So our dirty plates, silverware, left over food and dirty table now also held our meals. Yuck! Food wise there were many nice choices and the restaurant was beautiful. Service wise l can do without a smug kid who doesn't understand how to do his job. The place was not busy and if our experience is typical of their service l can understand why.

Turning into this area, is seriously a hidden gem of Mt P. The scenery is beautiful, calm and homey. The building itself feels like you are walking onto someone's large porch of their fancy classic beach house. They are have views of the tennis courts, pool and other beautiful areas around it. Now the food, was awesome! I am very picky when it comes to fish, as I usually eat shrimp, crab, tilapia and that's it. But wow, it was refreshing to actually enjoy a different type of fish that wasn't slimy, or tasted fishy. The texture was just right and full of flavor. The hummus, oh yes tomato basil flavor perfectly complimented the fish. Seriously mouth watering. Now the bar, oh heavens yessss. I have no idea the name of the pink drink, but it was phenomenal! It wasn't weak, and wasn't to strong, which can be difficult when mixing with tequila. It was literally just right. Now onto entertainment, they have live music on top of live action tennis. Can it seriously get anymore southern. Love it! The performer was a 14 year old kid saving for college, but he was pretty dang good. Lastly, I loved the atmosphere as it was warm and welcoming. As the sun when down, they flipped on the twinkling lights above. Really made it feel like you where having a party on someone back porch. There's really no other way to do it when you're in Charleston! I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try, it's definitely a hidden gem.

The interior has humorous things…read moreon the wall, dollar bills signed and stapled to the bar, and a great vibe in a very clean environment. We had to try the Apple Pie shots since everyone seems to talk about them. This is way more complex than some apple flavor liquor. The ingredients take some prep work, and the result is something that literally tastes like apple pie. If they bottled this, I would definitely buy it. They have two specialty drinks, the Freshy and the Orange Crush, both of which are made with fresh squeezed juice squeezed right when you order. I had the Freshy which is orange or grapefruit juice with your favorite liquor. I chose grapefruit with vodka and even though I am not a huge fan of grapefruit the freshness and tartness of the drink made it quite enjoyable. My wife had the Orange Crush with Deep Eddy's O.J vodka, Triple Sec, Sprite and some of that fresh squeezed orange juice. It was nice and sweet which was good since we were ordering a lot of savory options. The Potato Skins arrived first and they were truly impressive. Good sized skins with the perfect amount of potato, not too thick or too dry and definitely homemade. They had mixed cheese, bacon and green onions served with sour cream also loaded with green onions. As far as all the potato skins I have had these were a standout. Next came the onion rings with an absolute massive serving for just eight dollars. You could tell they were homemade and served with a chili garlic sauce. The best part was the batter coating which was crispy yet didn't fall off when bent or bitten. They reheated nicely in the air fryer. Next, we tried the Toasted Raviolis which were filled with Italian sausage and served with a house made marinara. They were nice and crispy, but the true star was the marinara sauce which was thick and chunky with parmesan mixed all throughout. I wish they had more dishes that used this sauce as it was excellent. On the advice of some regulars, I tried the chicken fingers which were all breast meat, dill brined and hand battered. It was good advice since the chicken was juicy and tender with a flavorful coating. Sometimes it pays to ask. My wife ordered the thing they are known for their Philly Cheesesteak. She decided on double meat, and they were super generous to the point she looked at me and said, "I don't know how I am going to finish this!". This cheesesteak gets nominate for a lot of best of lists and I could see why. I liked that the cheese was mixed in with the meat and not just poured on top. She enjoyed it but said next time she will order it as is. This is a great place to hang out and relax and maybe catch a band or some bluegrass and enjoy a great meal!

There's something about the name "Acme" and good seafood when it comes to coastal restaurants…read more Along the Gulf, you think of Acme Oyster House. On the coastal Atlantic, we recommend Acme Low Country Kitchen. You get five-star food in a rustic setting that could benefit for a bit of a makeover -- but only a touch or two. Excellent service compliments the food. On our plate: The "Light: House, including sauteed shrimp, seared scallops and a house-made, fresh crab cake that comes with a caveat that a shell chip or two might be mixed (we call that authentication). All were perfectly prepared and ample sized. This wasn't a shrimp-and-chips drive-through; this was a meal. Our sides: Collards (this is the low country) and fried Brussel sprouts, again well prepared. Price: $38.25 and among the higher-priced items on the seafood-heavy menu but worth it. Others in our party, including two non seafood eaters, chose the pecan fried chicken (two breast with one each going home because of the size) with another going with the Carolina Duo of the chicken and short ribs. Will we return? Yes. There are other options we've yet to try as our visits to Charleston increase but this was a real treat. Even better, it is near the fabled Dingy beach bar where we ducked in to watch the Kentucky Derby. We could spend our retirement years at The Dingy but that's another review to come. Acme is a 4.5-star review with the only points shaved because it just needs a little updating (after the season, perhaps). The food and service more than make up for it.

We walked in and the place was emptier than a church on a Wednesday night, yet somehow we were told to head on over to the bar, wait for a table, and go ahead and order ourselves a drink. Didn't make much sense, but we did as we were told. Then we stood there a good 10 minutes while the bartender, who let us know he's studying to be a dentist up in Spartanburg, was busy chatting away with another customer like we weren't even there. When he finally got around to us, it felt like we were more of an inconvenience than paying customers. But the real kicker came after we finally got our drinks. The manager came up, and I kid you not, told us we had to leave the restaurant and go out to the parking lot to finish them. No explanation, just attitude, and not a polite one either. To be honest, the manager seemed like she might have had a little too much Easter spirit, if you catch my drift. The whole interaction was downright combative and made us feel completely unwelcome. What really got me, though, was the poor hostesses and waitstaff. They apologized to us over and over and quietly let us know this kind of situation is something they deal with on a daily basis. We even heard her speaking sharply to another customer, which made it clear this wasn't just a one time issue. Honestly, the whole experience felt like a bad trip to the dentist and cost about the same as a root canal. All in all, it was a mess from start to finish, rude, confusing, and about as un Southern hospitality as you can get. I would think twice before going back, y'all.
