Well they say first impressions are best impressions. A bit hungry going w/o lunch and breakfast. I survived coffee alone. Nitro that is. The daylight surpassed my motivation. On the way in from work I asked my mom "let's get something good" she says " like what?" .... Five guys! We never eat there. My mom began speaking on the last time we went. Fast forward.... Mr. Charles, fresh in the 20's, seems to be learning really quick the pace. It wasn't crowded but the manager, Jake ( not StateFarm) had a very patient demeanor. Charles took our order with the most inviting smile and soft spoken. I watched the interaction of the team of how smoothly it all came together. They worked diligently without pause. I was tickled by the thought would my burger be smooth and melt in mouth. Yeah, judge me not, hangry was approaching. lol! Indeed upon settling in the house I snuck a bite and it was just as satisfying as the thought. Enjoy yours

It can be dangerous when you can leave your home and be standing inside of one of the best burger joints in the area in less than 3 minutes flat! But that's the dilemma I find myself in every single day. The fresh burger ingredients used for your made-to-order burger, fresh cut fries and then the enhanced soda machine where you can infuse flavors like cherry, strawberry, raspberry and peach into your regular go-go sodas... there's so much to love here. I usually opt for a raspberry + peach flavored sprite and it hits the spot every single time. On the flip side, there prices are a bit on the high side. I guess typical for DC, but still not typical enough for me to call them reasonably priced as a combo (burger+fries+drink) will usually cost around $20+ and although this restaurant does have seating, i wouldn't call it a "sit-down" type of restaurant. Nonetheless, Five Guys delivers high quality, delicious food consistently. What I like about this Five Guys specifically is that even though they don't have parking, it's usually pretty easy to find some street parking close by. It's definitely not taxing to find parking like it would be for your downtown locations. For what it is (a quick, Hugh quality burger spot) they definitely get stars in my book! UPDATE: I recently went to the Five Guys in Greenbelt, MD and was very disappointed. Even though it's the same chain, their food there was subpar compared to the high quality food I get at the Navy Yard location. This only reinforces how I feel about this Five Guys. They really are a great burger place!

Only because my buddies kid I came back here. Why!!!! I hate this place and now even more being the prices are ridiculous. It just cost me $20+ for a cheeseburger, fries and coke. Seriously this is ridiculous... never coming back. I really cannot believe people are paying these prices.

"Burger perfection does exist". Five guys is my favorite place for hamburgers, fresh meat, fresh vegetables and many MANY fries. These are hamburgers that do not seek to be pretentious, without elaborate ingredients or strange flavors, traditional hamburgers: sauces, fresh vegetables, fresh bread and delicious, juicy and well cooked meat. They use 100% peanut oil and also have no refrigerators in their stores, that means they do not freeze their meats, so every time you try a hamburger you can be sure that it is freshly made. The place is quite nice, I like the white and red colors of the decoration and their style, they do not use trays, they place the orders in paper bags and when you order french fries they place them in a paper cup inside the paper bag where they also put more french fries "they are a lot" and I love that. Prices are pretty good to be a fast food place, plus while you wait for your order you can eat fresh peanuts, they have plenty and soda has refill. This place is heaven

Very disappointed with this location. First of all the coke tasted like water, I asked to get a bottle instead and they refused. So, I ask for a refund on the coke, I drank water with my burger. Then, I asked for Cajun fries and was given regular fries instead. i mentioned to add Cajun and he said " no one mentioned they were Cajun fries so I can't make them Cajun," which was a complete lie. He ended up giving me a tiny container with a bit of Cajun seasoning.' Attitude throughout the whole thing. Finally, I asked for mayo in my burger and it came without mayo. At that point, I decided to give up and write this review instead. Do not stop at this location, as a five burger previous customer, I'm very disappointed. Very tasteless, hard bread and very bad customer service.

This location has re-opened. They have indeed added the milkshakes and done some remodeling. It looks good!

This meal was a consolation meal as the Korean food cart was closed when I got to 2nd street, southeast. This Five Guys is not easily spotted. It's after the CVS, around the corner, on second street and not NJ as it says on my receipt. This place was busy with the Navy folks around the corner. The whole neighborhood has been revamped so it looks a bit like an architect's wet dream. The fries were excellent this time. I think the guy assigned to the fry station has skills! The fries were hot, crispy, meaty and from some town in Idaho. And again, I forgot that I need to nap after a huge meal like this...

I get the little cheeseburger with everything and we usually can split a small cajun fries between 3 of us.

This was my first visit to Nando's in downtown DC. I ordered the half chicken with no sides, and…read moremedium spicy sauce. The chicken came out with blackened edges because of their preparation method. I don't prefer that taste, but others may. I did not find the sauce to be particularly spicy so I added the 'extra hot' sauce on the side, which helped to add more flavor. Surprisingly, the chicken breast was very moist, along with the thigh. The ambience is casual and relaxed. There are plenty circular or modular seats along with smaller tables along the back end of the restaurant. My biggest complaint was their restrooms. They have gender neutral restrooms; two stalls total. Both restrooms were in great need of cleaning with a LOT of bodily fluids all along the toilets and floors. Also, there was no option for hand towels, only an air blower to dry your hands, which is one of the most disgusting ways to dry freshly washed hands. I recommend either creating one male and one female stall instead of unisex because men and women have very different habits in the restroom. On the positive side, Carolina and Barian were quite helpful and kind. They made the overall experience better.

I visited Nando's PERi-PERi for dinner on July 8, 2026, around 7:00 p.m. with a group of eight. A…read morefew of us were first-time visitors, so after being seated, we waited for someone to take our order. Unfortunately, the hostess never mentioned that we needed to order at the counter. There was a sign, but it wasn't very noticeable when we walked in, so we completely missed it. A quick explanation when we were seated would have made a much better first impression. Once we realized how ordering worked, everyone went to the counter. I ordered last, but my meal was fairly simple: The Wingman (6 wings with PERi Chips and PERi-PERi ranch) plus a side of rice from the kids' menu. Everyone else received their food, ate, and finished before my order ever came out. To the staff's credit, one employee noticed I still hadn't been served and appeared to rush my order. When my food finally arrived, I was disappointed to find one of my six wings was so small and burnt that it wasn't edible (see photo). Some of the other chicken served to our table was also a little over-charred. On the positive side, I really enjoyed the lavender lemonade, and I liked the variety of PERi-PERi sauces available to customize the flavor and heat level. Overall, the experience had some service and food quality issues, but there were enough positives that I'd be willing to give Nando's another try. Hopefully, the next visit will be smoother.
