The girl taking my order messed it up. Upon acknowledging that my order was missing food, the grill guy yelled the F-word in front of me but not directed towards me. I did not appreciate that. It was disrespectful and rude. The girl supervisor/manager on duty refused to acknowledge me and that her co-worker messed up the order. Nor did she try to offer an apology or discount or free food or anything. I did not feel appreciated. My wife had to wait an extra 10 minutes for her food while the rest of the family ate. Poor customer service. Corporate should be ashamed of the store as the bad reviews continue to roll in. The people working their need customer service training. My family and I will not be back. You just lost more customers. Oh, and there was no hand soap in the men's bathroom, which raises another question. Employees use the same restrooms as customers. read more

I agree that I don't know why everyone compares this place to In N Out cause to both hubby and I both are good but tastes different. We decided to try this place after seeing it on some food show and we were satisfied. Great burger and LOVE the grilled mushrooms option and the Cajun fries were delicious. I feel like I'm cheating on In-N-Out, but the burger was great and the fries were awesome. I got the cheeseburger with everything which included grilled mushrooms and onions. You can tell that the burgers are hand shaped and the meat had such good flavor. The fries were super fresh and I like the more rugged style of their food. I came in and left once I saw the prices. Everything is separate. Saw the burgers cooking in the back and they were tiny. I think for the burger and side of fries was about $10-12 bucks plus tax. Funny though I don't even think that included a drink. I might as well go to Red Robin to get a good size burger plus endless fries for that price. Hmm...I give it 3 1/2 . First I thought it was pricey. The wait for food was more then I think it should've been (about 8 people there and some where already eating). Bun was a lil bit hard, overcooked, and they forgot my shake. But... the burger was still pretty tasty, fries a lil undercooked but still good. Shake was good (but outside of cup had chocolate all over it), and they were nice. So, I'm not throwing the towel in yet. I'd give them another try. read more

The place has good tasting burgers with lots of choices for toppings. However, I am not sure what makes them think their burgers are any better than In 'N Out or The Habit. They're not any better than those two local burger joints, yet they price their food as if it is much better. It is not. Save your money and go to The Habit or In 'n Out. Also funny that they copied In 'N Out with their red & white tile design. There was a kind of unpleasant smell in the restaurant when I ate here today. Not even staff especially on a busy Friday night at the mall. They are overworking their current staff trying to have everything ready but they just can't function with literally on 3 people working. I also thought it was a little ridiculous to promote yourself in the manner five guys does, saying things like they will be good competition to In-n-Out burger before they even came to California, and something like 50 quotes of editors, newspapers, and food critics on their walls. If this is the best burger New York, and the East coast can offer than I guess California has them there for sure. I'm not one to be generous with Five Stars but how this place gets only Three stars is beyond me. Very good food and service. Holds up to any other Five Guys anywhere. The place isn't as big as some I have visited but not the smallest. That was in Alameda that was smaller but just as good. I've yet to try their Dogs but they look inviting. I remember the hype this past summer on how five guys was going dethrone In 'N' Out as California's best burger. Well here is what i think. First off, you walk into the place and it looks like you're inside an In 'N' Out Burger. It's very crowded (I'm sure that will subside when the glamor wears off). It is a really good burger. I really enjoyed it. I think the fries are even better the In 'N' Out (I don't really like In 'N' Out's fries anyways). You get a huge cup full of fries so i recommend splitting them. And of course, like every other fast food place on the planet, they have coke products ( I'm a Pepsi drinker). Not to mention there is no combo deals. You pay for everything individually. Now here's the kicker. This place cannot compare to In 'N' Out because it so expensive. Not even in the same ballpark. I can feed my four family members at In 'N' Out for around $20. When the four of us went here, the bill was $43, for lunch! If these guys would have some to California not comparing themselves, i would be OK. I don't see how you can compare this with the other when it's in a mall and there's no drivethru. I don't see myself eating here that often. It's worth trying once though. read more

The hamburger I had was really good and the fries are the best I've tasted so far. This is my first time dining at Five Guys, and I would say that the service was courteous and friendly---the employees seem to enjoy themselves during work, so that was pleasant to see. However, I find their prices a little high, especially after trying The Habit Burger, which offers a more upscale menu and dining area for a cheaper price! Five guys is a good place, but there are still ways to improve the customers' overall experience of dining here since we're paying a little more. read more

I'm giving 2 stars because of the pricing...probably 30-40% over priced. Took my son there - two burgers, two fries and one drink was almost $30. Got some of the free peanuts while waiting but they were stale and hard as rocks. Burgers and fries are great, but not good enough to justify the price. And the free peanuts added no value. If I want gourmet high-end burgers, I'll drive to The Counter where the presentation, variety and quality of the ingredients are high...but still less expensive than 5 Guys. I know these folks are making money hand over foot and I realize my review holds little weight, but those are my two cents. read more

I came to this place for the first time and was super good! They also gave us amazing amount of fries! One is really good for two people, I have no complaints about the food or the employees, just my order wasnt taken correctly, I wasn't charged for my wifes drink or her fries but tyler fixed it with a smile and without any questions. After we were almost done with our food he walked around the restaurant and offered every table if he could get them anything else. They were all very sweet and worked very fast. I have never experienced worse service. We ordered online and got to the restaurant a little after it was scheduled to be done. We weren't even greeted when the person who arrived a few seconds before us was, and she was also waiting for an order. We waited at the counter for about five minutes to see if they would come and they just ignored us. Another group came in after us, and they were greeted after a minute or so of them entering. We tried to get their attention after they served the people after us, and they ignored us again, until we basically yelled to get the attention of the two girls working there (also the restaurant was literally empty besides us and the person who came in before us) and finally, almost 10 minutes, they talked to us. Our order was scheduled to be ready for pick up almost 15 minutes ago at this point. We asked about their order and they said it was going to be bagged. So we waited again, and five more minutes later they gave us the food but not our shakes. We waited another 10 minutes for the shakes, and they didn't have any of the toppings we ordered. Our orders were done nearly 30 minutes after the pickup time from online. I would understand maybe 10 minutes extra, but not 30 minutes after being ignored for 10 of them. I've been here a total of three times and I don't have a single complaint. It's similar to In N Out, but they're not the same thing. Five Guys has peanuts as an appetizer - so fun and such a great idea. They're burgers are just as good as In N Out. Also, you can have almost anything added to your burger free of charge! And for people that are complaining about the price, try sharing large fries. My parents and I shared large fries and they were more than enough! At Five Guys they are very generous with their fries. The burgers and fries and hot dogs are tasty! My favorite is the little bacon cheeseburger (I get the little because two beef patties is too much for me!) and the service is great, too. Please make one closer to me! I prefer 5 guys to in&out. Yes, it is a bit more pricey, but you get more stuff, thicker beef patty and even more wonderful french fries. If you like big sloppy hamburgers with so much stuff on it that it bears no relationship to a hamburger anymore served with average fries, you have come to the right place.
