A lot of the reviews mention how pricey this place is for what you're getting, but I'm pretty sure that's the premise of Five Guys to begin with. This was my first time eating Five Guys and I know it won't be my last. I appreciated all the extra condiments inside my burger. The fact that it's written on the board also made it convenient. I especially liked the green peppers and jalapeño peppers inside the burger. The Cajun fries were salty, I'll admit but it hit the spot for those late night cravings. Most food these days go for about this price, so I'm not complaining. We also came in near closing, but the workers didn't say or do anything that made it seem like we should leave asap. I came to five guys tonight because I had a gift card. I haven't had it in at least 10 years, but I remember a lot of my friends complained about how average the burgers are here for the price. They were right. I ordered a banana shake for $7 and a hamburger for a whopping $13. Now, I know in n out had a 4x4 for about 8$ and there burger is definitely a better burger at a lower price and to be honest, in n out burgers aren't the greatest. Both places don't fill me up. I was still hungry after. The burger here itself is two small patties, toppings like tomatoes lettuce, pickles and onions and grease. When I picked up the burger with the sesame buns, I thought to myself I could make this myself for less than 2$. The taste was average and oily to me. It was dripping with grease down my fingers each bite which was four by the way. Then the burger was gone in a few minutes and just like that, I was still hungry. For $20, I didn't expect an average to below average experience. The service was bad as well. I didn't like the attitude of the workers at the front and there was only one other customer other than myself inside and somehow, it took over 17 minutes to make my order where other places it usually takes less time. There were two workers there. The price is a major red flag, charging $13 for the hamburger alone without any fries or a drink is absolutely insane. Luckily I don't eat French fries due to avoiding cancerous foods especially after the fries being cooked in peanut oil. Overall, five guys is a 3/5. I'm generous usually, but the experience and moreover, value of the product I ordered was not worth it in my opinion. From experience of eating all types of hamburgers, this one was average at most and honestly, I can create a burger that tastes better myself by going to the grocery store and buying quality meat that's grass fed and it will taste better than this. The shake was watery and to be honest $7 was high especially for the size of the cup. I have had shakes in my past and they were better tasting and not as watery. The flavor is great however, the limited options for add-ons such as sides they give you vinegar and ketchup. This is California. Second time eating here, love their fries, especially with a little malt vinegar and mayonnaise (European flair). The cashier was very friendly, answered my questions with great attitude. The restaurant has that diner feel to it, nothing fancy, but very clean and free peanuts. My opinion, their burgers beat InNOut (not easy to do) as they had that homemade taste fried with mustard, add ketchup, grilled onions and pickles, fantastic! Only thing I'd ask is improve on the buns, they don't hold up as well as others and change the fountain drink formula, syrup to carbonation seemed a bit off, bit sweet, bit flat. I have been coming in here more often with my husband and Kylee S. always has an attitude when helping us out and makes us uncomfortable but acts a total 180 with other customers. totally rude and unprofessional. Decided to try this place on a whim. It was our first time ever trying five guys. Big shout out to Julian who was kind and hospitable beyond belief to us. We're literally still in awe. We appreciate him so much for wanting/caring to give us the best first experience ever and are extremely grateful cause oh boy did he succeed at that! Will be returning customers for sure. Food was really delicious but what won me over was the excellent customer service by Jessica and Shawn. they really know how to welcome people. How is this my first time eating here?! Burgers here taste fresh & flavorful while being super filling! I ordered the little bacon cheeseburger & little Cajun fries which didn't seem so little at all once served considering how big the portion sizes are here. The bacon cheeseburger I'd order a million times over again especially with the bacon being cooked to literal crispy perfection. Cajun fries came out hot & fresh & were seasoned generously. If you like fries that are an in between of crispy & soft this is your place. Only complaint are the high prices but on the bright side you are getting a lot & the freshness in quality is definitely there. Service was fast & friendly as I placed my order through their app. This location is pretty busy so ordering through the app is probably the best way to go. Well came back and on my gosh really good burger and fries!!! Here's a tip if you want a regular sized burger get the smaller little burger and you'll get one patty...otherwise you end up with two very large patties! First. Things. First. I typically LOVE Five Guys and generally have a pretty descent experience... this was an outlier for sure. BUYER BEWARE. EVEN IF IT MEANS A GREAT INCONVENIENCE TO YOUR DAY OR THAT YOU MIGHT GO HUNGRY FOR A BIT LONGER THAN YOU WISH TO.... it could be detrimental to your HEALTH, apparently. As you'll see from the *attached pic of my receipt, I clearly, without question, ordered a cheeseburger with: lettuce, tomato, mayo and ketchup. Pretty simple, yes? ...I think we can all agree it does not say: lettuce, a THOUSAND PICKLES, may and ketchup. Normally, I would think that maybe they simply mixed up my order... except in this case: 1. It was a very slow time of day and almost no one in the restaurant 2. I observed the lady who made my sandwich, read the ticket, assemble it and then call me by name and walk it over to me directly. She even read the name on my order directly OFF OF THE TICKET... which as you can see clearly states: lettuce, tomatoes, mayo and ketchup. 3. The other reason I have a hard time believing this was a simple mixup is the sheer AMOUNT of PICKLES she decided to stack in place of the 'tomatoes' I ordered. (*I am also including a pic of 'some' of the pickles on the sandwich... at first I didn't think of taking a pic and I threw several of them in the trash. It wasn't until the final stack I pulled off that I had the thought to take a picture... just as I was coming to the realization that this was highly unlikely an 'honest mistake' and more like an 'unfriendly gesture).' Anyway, I find it INCREDIBLY UNLIKELY that anyone would ever order this many PICKLES on a burger; adding to the unliklihood that this was a simple 'mixup' with another order (in addition to all of the other reasons I've listed here). To make matters worse, I ended up feeling 'not-so-well' not long after 'picking off' all of the 'PICKles' and 'eating half of it anyway' our of pure desperation (I was starving and had driven over 30 min from the restaurant before opening the burger). *I wish I would just have thrown it away! So, needless to say, this was a VERY BAD experience and sadly, I believe there were sinister intentions behind it (I truly hate to say this but it's very difficult to arrive at any other conclusion here) ...But, I keep asking myself: WHY? I was perfectly pleasant and respectful and gave no one any reason to do something like this to me... and besides that... there is NEVER an excuse to do something like this to another human being even 'if' they 'weren't pleasant' or if the person preparing the food disliked another to whom they are serving and/or preparing food for. MOREOVER: What if I was severely allergic to pickles??? and also... all of this also begs the question... why did I feel unwell after eating this burger??? If they went this far to exaggerate their dislike for me by stacking a gillion pickles on my sandwich... what else might they have done that made me feel SICK that 'wasn't' so glaringly obvious? Anyway... BAD EXPERIENCE and I felt compelled to WARN OTHERS to pay close attention to your food being prepared and to check it before exiting a food establishment. I wish I had stood at the counter and WATCHED them prepare this closely but alas! I did not, and paid for it immensely. We just ordered from here and I am beyond grossed out. Not only did my husband find a hair melted into his cheeseburger, but I am sure something rotten was on mine. I took one bite into my burger and immediately spit it out. Something just smelled foul/off/rotten in a way I can't even describe. I passed it to my husband to confirm and he said - "DONT eat that, something isn't right." Upon pulling back the foil I found a mushy brown rotten looking piece of lettuce. I am without a doubt positive that the lettuce and god knows what else was rotten and would have made me sick if I continued. Horrible. We spent just under $70 for three burgers (two had bacon) and two fries. We live about 15-20 minutes away and came here on a Friday night after placing an online order. Parking on a busy Friday night is difficult but we thought it was worth it. Our order was late and I overheard the employees telling people who came in that there was no bacon. I was naive and thought maybe my order had the last of the bacon because no employees said anything to me and I would've expected that to be refunded. I get home and all three burgers are wrong with missing toppings, incorrect toppings, and there is no bacon. I call the restaurant and they tell me to come all the way back there so that they can fix my order. I said I want a refund instead to avoid even more of an inconvenience and they told me they don't do that over the phone. I wrote a complaint online and the next day a manager calls me and offers me a refund and some free gift certificates when I'm in the area. Two weeks go by, no refund. They can keep their gift cards I'll never go there again. read more

Hubby wanted a burger for dinner so we went across the street from our hotel and ate at Five guys. Free peanuts for you to munch on as you await your number to be called. We both ordered the cheese burger fries and soda. Hubby likes most any burger. Mine arrived with the bottom bun wet and soggy. When I held the bun up it drained an abnormal amount of fluid onto the wrapper. And the top bun started to split apart, ready to collapse. I brought this to the attention of the staff and the mgt walked over told the staff to remake it and throw away the partially eaten one. The fries were soggy and droopy. Well, I guess I should start with the positives! They have free peanuts and the sizes are pretty big. I ordered a little bacon cheeseburger and shared the Cajun style fries. The little bacon cheeseburger was big enough, even for my big appetite. I like that I can choose as many or little toppings for free. The beef patty was just okay for me. Maybe my palate that day was off, but I just didn't get why people some people love this versus in n out. The fries on the other hand was so, so good! This in a nutshell is a glorified Fat Burger. $15.52 for a cheeseburger and water cup w 10% tip. Way overpriced. Thursday evening, There were 2 customers before me and 2 customers while I was there. There was a clerk and 3 cooks, and they were hiring! Yeah, the burger was fresh and decent quality, but how good must a burger be for $15. To be fair, it was a double-patty cheeseburger labeled as a cheeseburger. If you check the menu closer they have "little" burgers which are single patty. Strategic sell up to the unknowing. The atmosphere is overly basic. Wooden Chairs and no soft booth seats. Burgers are bagged even if you are eating in. No trays. Music was kinda grunge/beach. Not my genre. Little fries was $4.39, what? It was more than enough for an old guy, but it wasn't extraordinary. The burger was cold, the bread cool, the beef was just warm, the "free" toppings were blah. Hardly any bacon. The bread was getting soaked and sloppy while eating. Underwhelming, underperforming, unimpressive for a very expensive burger lunch. I can spend $10 at In n Out and get a better burger experience. So I don't recommend 5 Guys to anyone. I doubt it will get better. All the rave reviews must be from people unaccustomed to what a great burger should be, or just plain have impaired taste buds. Yes, this place is BAD and expensive, for NOTHING. Always enjoyable food at Five Guys, the food is made fresh and at worst you'll get a sloppy burger. The french fries are typically piping hot, and made to order. At this location the prices have continued to climb since opening, that is likely attributable to LA County/Commiefornia's wage rate requirements growing greater than most other parts of the country. Counters are always a little dirty, bathrooms could be cleaner at times, and staff friendliness can be hit or miss. This is par for the course with fast food, however in light of the premium pricing, you always hope for a little more. The quality of the food does not appear to be lacking in any way despite any other potential shortcomings. read more
