The company I work for frequently has lunch catered in, so I'm always on the lookout for tasty food at an affordable price and I am SO happy I found this place! Art is the owner and he is so helpful and friendly, he made ordering a breeze and was incredibly accommodating to our requests and needs. We ordered a variety of burritos, chicken, carne asada, and fish. They were so delicious, packed with a perfect balance of ingredients - (not like the overrated place that gives you a brick of rice with meat sprinkles). There was not a single complaint on the food among my 40 coworkers and that's very very very rare! Art highly recommended we try their breakfast burritos the next time, so most recently, we ordered that. We had the chorizo breakfast burritos, bacon burritos, and plain - all had eggs, hash browns, cheese, chipotle aioli, and salsa. Once again Art delivered outstanding service and food, no complaints, just happy, full bellies. And for this kind of customer service and quality food, I'd expect to be paying a high price, but Brick and Flour is extremely budget friendly. Asked a couple of local SCV friends and family if they had Brick and Flour and all of them, whether they had it or not, have said it was the best burritos in SCV or they heard it was the best in SCV. Located attached to a gas station building, Brick and Flour can easily be missed, even though it is it's own separate location. If you are coming from the east on Valencia Blvd, the turn doesn't take you in the parking lot/gas station, but onto the freeway so be careful. To cut to the chase, the fish tacos were phenomenal! I would definitely go back just for that. The house special burrito was also very good and was a good size. I shared half a burrito and a taco and was full. Service needed a bit of help. The person was friendly enough, more so utilitarian/neutral which I don't really mind. What knocked a star (and maybe should knock another one) is that they got one of our orders wrong entirely and we had to go back to get it corrected. The customer before us also had the wrong order but we didn't think to check our order, thinking what were the chances of getting it wrong back to back. So check our order before you leave. This isn't fast food and you are going to have to wait as they make it fresh to order. Ambiance is okay. It's clean and roomy enough to eat there but if you want ambiance, best to take it home or eat it elsewhere. read more

This unique taco shop is nestled right next to a gas station and right off the 5 freeway. There isn't much parking but it wasn't overly busy when I was there. The menu contains tacos, burritos and bowls. Since it was first time there, the cashier explained it to me as if it were comparable to Chipotle. You choose your style (taco, burrito etc) and choose your protein. We ordered fish and chicken tacos. The flavor was great! And their soda machine has the small crushed ice (seems unimportant but for some, makes a difference!). The atmosphere and decor is local oriented as well as clean and inviting. Dropped into Brick and Flour on our way back from LA recently, we were hungry but wanted to get out of the LA area first and Brick and Flour looked like a good spot. The staff was very friendly, we were greeted upon entering, offered suggestions and it did take a bit but they apologized for the wait saying they had gotten a large hit of online orders and the kitchen was backed up. I went for the diablo shrimp burrito and my mom had the Philly cheesesteak tacos. I enjoyed the burrito, it had several large shrimp in it and the steak was well cooked, nice and tender. It had great flavor and was a large burrito, more than enough to fill me up. My mom liked the tacos but said they were very spicy, she was sweating her way through them and didn't expect Philly Cheesesteak tacos to be so spicy. The chips and salsa was a bit of a letdown, the bag of chips was very large but the "salsa" was just a 4 ounce cup pico de gallo that wasn't great. It's not cheap either, for our 2 meals and the chips and salsa it was over $50 so be prepared. The food is good just pricy and I'd advise you to avoid the chips and salsa but it was still a mostly good experience. read more

I ordered some plain tacos for my little ones and I had a House Special burrito. The ambiance is super cool. Plenty of tables inside and outside and a nice background music. I can't wait to try their fried chicken burrito next! If you are looking for a great place with some flavorful tacos then look no further. Don't forget to order the green and habanero sauces on the side. Also they have a fiery red sauce... beware it's pretty flavorful but packs a punch! When you walk in please be warned that the place always smells like dirty mop water. They're always clean inside though. It's nice that they have their secret menu right out on the counter so that you can see it. And they give a good portion size for everything. They're chicken Chipotle burrito is so flavorful. Everything tastes so fresh. Their street corn Bowl is so flavorful as well. The only thing would make it better is if it was a little bit hotter temperature wise. I had a shrimp taco and a fish taco--both were tasty and satisfying. The place was pretty busy even at that hour. They have great salsas, including their chipotle sauce, and the balance of ingredients in their burritos is perfect, and consistently good! We go at least once per month! I also recommend their churros, nothing like you have had before! Definitely our go-to spot in this area! The first couple times I came the food was really good. But since then the quality has dropped significantly. Portions are smaller to where the Torta basically tastes like bread. I have a sensitive stomach and it seems to identify bad cooking, bad ingredients and mix of toxic fast food pretty quickly. I tried this place and I can tell you it will make your stomach feel terrible if your sensitive. Taste was decent. But who knows how they sourced there food and how well they cooked it. So when I say the Brick and Flour breakfast burrito was an EXPERIENCE. Let me tell you, it was a heavenly experience.   This burrito was massive--an absolute unit. It was so huge it could've had its own zip code. The tortilla held strong like it was engineered by NASA, and from the very first bite to the last, not a single drop dared to escape.   The cacophony of flavors with the eggs, potatoes, cheddar cheese, sausage and chipotle sauce blended so together, you would have thought it was Taylor Swift and her dancers on the Era's tour. The chipotle had just enough kick to notice, but enough savor to enjoy. The eggs were fluffy and perfect, and the sausage was packed with juicy flavor in every bite.    Not only would I recommend this burrito, but I would recommend a seat belt, because you WILL be taken on a trip with each and every bite. read more

I ordered the al pastor burrito, but I really wish I saw the secret menu house special because I know I would've liked that one better. The design of the store is very appealing, and customer service was friendly, as they actually brought out our order for us. They still had Halloween candy out in early November. But, ultimately, the food quality was a little disappointing. The rice tasted somewhat undercooked, and the rest of the food was just okay. Neither of the salsas were spicy, which was a good thing for me. I was still hungry after finishing my burrito, so I ate the remains of my sister's fried fish bowl (?). At the counter there is a sign that's says Brick and Flour is not fast food. Unfortunately today, it wasn't good foo either. Ordered the House Special burrito and it was very underwhelming. The rice was crunchy and so were the pinto beans. They were either old or undercooked. I rarely post negative reviews but I have high expectations for a $16 burrito that's promoted as the Brick & Flour house special. There was nothing special in this burrito today. And honestly, I've had a much superior burrito at Del Taco aka fast food for same size but for much less money. Did Brick & Flour have a bad day today? Maybe but I'm not likely to try another $20 dollar experiment anytime soon. read more
