Five Guys Cheeseburger w/ Small Order Cajun Fries
Joe F.

4/11/20 "Dayum, dayum, dayum!" - Daym Drops, in reference to his delicious bacon cheeseburger from Five Guys. Five Guys continues to wow me with their perfect burgers. Evidenced by today's delivery order, a Five Guys burger is just as good no matter where you eat it. Today, we ordered two cheeseburgers with a few fixings: lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions and mushrooms, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. A good, sturdy, backyard burger. We also threw in a small order of cajun fries. Now may be a good time to add that I have been *cutting* calories lately, so how on earth could Five Guys accommodate this? Quite easily, actually, with their handy calorie calculators both on their website and delivery page. So, after working out a little math, we placed our order for 12:00 P.M. Our burgers were delivered via DoorDash. There was no delivery fee (do tip these folks), and we even had the option of contactless delivery. Our delivery person took care to stand a ways back when I opened the door to grab that signature paper bag. After weighing out 100g worth of cajun fries (232 cals), we assembled our plates, got the Netflix going, and dug into these juicy cheeseburgers (~920 cals each). It occurs to me now, writing this review, that I haven't had a Five Guys burger since the Spring of 2018! So, two years later, I can confidently report that the food is still ever godly. 'Til next time, Five Guys. Thanks for a fine lunch at home.

After I took my 1st bite I pulled this out of my mouth

I would rate this with zero stars but if I want to comment unfortunately I have to give a star. This is the 1st time eating and ordering from here and I found hair in my food. I called to the store to let them know and all I got was... well unfortunately because the food left the store we don't know if you put your hair or you co workers hair in your food?!?!... WTF!!!! Worst customer service ever and the hair was cooked into the burger as you can tell. Upon further inspection I found 2 strands of hair COOKED into the patty of the burger!!!....

During the course of my meal I could amuse myself watching the growing grease stains

Grease in a bag with some fries thrown in. Ew! The picture tells the story. Obviously they don't keep the oil at the right temperature since when I'd bite into a fry, it wasn't white with a crispy outer crust, but had the translucence of oil which it oozed. Cruelty to potatoes! Such a shame to take lovely fresh potatoes from a family farm in Idaho that is proudly listed on the board and then subject them to such torture and charge so much. The hand-forms but thin burger was tasty, and it's nice that they let you put all sorts of toppings for free on it, but even they couldn't mask the bland and seemingly stale wrinkly roll. First time at a Five Guys. It may be my last.

Soggy bread and soggy lettuce

Just picked up 2 burgers, drove 5 min home and they were completely soggy a small price of soggy lettuce in both and has no flavor !!!!! Paid 45$ for 2 aweful burgers I don't recommend at all .

My friend and I had an overnight layover in Phoenix while flying across the country. Luckily my friend has family in the area so we asked them to show us around and maybe try some good ol' Southwest grub. They all said we had to try Five Guys Burgers and Fries. So after making the trek over to Tempe we finally arrived. Meh... When we said Southwest grub we didn't have fast food in mind. Plus I've now heard there are Five Guys locations all over the place. Living in Southern California, amazing fast food burger joints isn't a new thing to me. After trying Five Guys I'll gladly stick to Tommy's or In N Out.

Great Burger!! comparable to In-n-Out. the fries are fresh and very tasty. A small order of fries was good enough for two people.

The Chuck Box is an extremely well known and popular Gem located at the heart of the ASU Tempe…read moreCampus. It has been around for DECADES and there is no question as to why it is still there. When visiting the Chuck Box know that it is cash only (ATM on-site), and super popular. There WILL be a line. The line does move extremely fast, due to the fact that the line cooks are definitely not waiting until you get to the counter to take your order. They will call out to anyone in line (regardless of where in line you are) and take your order, yelling it out if needed. It is such a unique and fun experience. The burgers are not overpriced and are phenomenal! It is self serve toppings, after you pay for your order you can go to the topping bar and add as much to your burger as your heart desires. They additionally have other food on the menu such as veggie burger, chicken sandwhiches, chicken tenders, onion rings, fries, fried zuchinni, fried mushrooms, and more. I have had both the fried zuchinni and mushrooms and I would definitely recommend both options! Since it really popular, be aware that there is limited seating and it is crowded. It is additionally extremely warm (especially during the summer) inside the building due to the grill. If you have not already checked out the Chuck Box, I would definitelly recommend that you check it out as soon as possible!!!

This…read moreplace is ok, maybe even good, but not what I consider excellent or the best burgers in Arizona. For cash only, the prices seem a little high to me also. To start, my burger tasted pretty good. The cheese was good. Bun was a little dry and stale. The lettuce was yellow and chopped and looked several days old and slightly rotten. Two of my tomatoes had active mold growing on them. It was too dark inside to see it but we ate in the car and saw the moldy spot then. The fries are good but way too salty. We really liked the fried mushrooms. But we made our own dipping sauce which was better than the ranch they give you: mix 2/3 mustard and 1/3 Mayo. Tangy and delicious. We get these at "The Windmill" when we go to the jersey shore and the sauce that comes with the fried mushrooms is a horseradish sauce which is amazing (hint hint, Chuck Box). I would eat here again but bring a flashlight to inspect the produce and lower my expectations. It was good, not great. It smelled kind of off in here also. The AC and vents probably need to be cleaned.

The portion sizes were great for the price, the gluten-free bun was really good, and the fries were delicious. We also got the Nashville hot fries to-go and man... they were SPICY in the best way. Keep in mind everything is à la carte but you get a big portion, I think you can share the fries. You can really taste the quality of the meat and ingredients used here. It's a smaller spot with that a local neighborhood feel, which I loved. Staff were friendly and it was easy to order. The tenders had a crispy, golden coating with juicy chicken inside, while the waffle fries had those nice crunchy edges with a soft, fluffy center. Definitely a classic comfort-food combo. The food was good overall, but it didn't quite wow me or leave a lasting impression. Customer service was friendly and pleasant, which I appreciated, but the biggest drawback was the wait. For a relatively simple order of tenders and fries, it took longer than expected. Overall, an okay experience with good service and solid comfort food, but the long wait kept it from being a standout visit.

I did have a few but my favorite was the floor is lava, while my wife enjoyed a classic margarita. They also have a really nice kids menu and some great appetizers, so it worked perfectly for our family. Our waiter, Elias, was very nice and told us that Eureka was known for their burgers. Well, he was right! The burger was excellent and those truffle fries with the fresh grated cheese on top were absolutely delicious. You can have your burger cooked to whichever style you like, I like medium myself. I would order both again without hesitation. The service was another highlight. The manager even came out to help bring our food, and you could tell everyone was working together. The entire staff seemed to be in sync, which was really nice to see. This was easily one of my favorite places we visited while in the area. Great food, great cocktails, great atmosphere and excellent service. We choose to sit indoors. The restaurant is very cozy with dimmed lighting to add to the evening ambiance. It has a casual feel but you can dress up or down. Some people were casual and some more dressed up. We were seated at the front by the stage where live music was about to start. I thought this would be nice since I do enjoy live music. Well the speakers were facing right at our table and it was noticeably loud when the entertainer began to play. We asked for another table. We could not hear ourselves talking. I ordered a cocktail, The Giddy Up Espresso Martini. That was very delicious! They do have a full bar, it's nice to have choices as far as alcoholic beverages. Our food, Fish & Chips, BBQ Nachos, Aged Manchego, Crusty Bread Garlic Oil & Balsamic, and Molinari Sopressata. Everything was absolutely delicious! The fries with the Fish were perfect. My favorite besides the Martini. was the Crusty Bread with Olive Oil and Balsamic. Our server was the best! Amiriya made sure our drinks stayed filled and asked us what we thought about the food. Even on this busy night. After our meal we walked around the outside seating and game area. This place is a fun place to meet with others especially with the outdoor/patio game area. I would love to come back when in AZ.. But, I don't have to wait until then because we have a CD restaurant in the San Diego area! Woohoo! I can't wait to try some other dishes and have another Espresso Martini. I probably would pay for a shot of Bailey's added to the drink.
