JR. Cheeseburger and Little Cajun Fries
Catelyn H.

If I'm looking for a quality fast food burger, then I'm going to Five Guys! This location is well maintained and fully staffed. The staff are kind and are prompt to get you your order! At this visit I enjoyed the jr. cheeseburger "all the way" and I paired it with the Cajun fries! Everything was cooked fresh to order so I had no worries that by the time I got home that it would still be enjoyable. If you've never been to five guys I do caution that the serving sizes are large, so order appropriately!

I fully renovated an updated store, managed by a crack team of hamburger makers, that will do it your way anyway, with any toppings. I'm pretty particular about my burgers, and this is the best burger shop in Summerville bar none. Johnny was there to help me order my first burger just the way I wanted it and it's been good every single time I came in.

No wonder the place is nearly empty at noon

Which of you guys is in charge of the bacon? wife ordered a BLT and the bacon was hard and I mean hard and low quality with a lot of fat like a hard candy inedible. Wife was not happy I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and the same thing, that bacon was from a day or two ago. Which of you guys in charge of the onions? consider being more generous rather than doing a monthly drawing One star for the fries and another for the coke Not coming back, my expectations were based on some reviews and you guys just don't make the cut.

Pit bulls in a restaurant, hippies, useless manager
Tim U.

Since my northern Virginia days, I've been a perpetual fan of Five Guys. I can't place myself firmly in the "good" camp on the Summerville Five Guys, though. The food is inconsistent, and unlike the other Five Guys, they don't have milkshakes. That would be okay if the manager didn't rudely say "no" to customisation requests which other Five Guys have no problem doing. There was an incident, earlier this year, in which two hippies brought their two pit bulls into the store, with "service animal" clothes on them. Upon close inspection, it was revealed that they were "emotional support" animals, which aren't really service animals at all. Those dogs were dangerous and had no business being in that store (also a health violAtion), but when I respectfully brought this to the attention of the manager, explaining the faux service animal thing, he spoke to hippies and allowed the dogs to remain. Totally unacceptable.

For $16.47 it can all be yours. Talk about over charging.

Wow, the cost of food has gone up as the quantity and quality has gone down. This is what $17.00 looks like from a realistic view. So sad that Five Guys used to be renowned for its overflowing fries and fantastic burgers that it has come to meager portions for single serving to get the buyer to up size to the larger size. Very disappointed in what it has become. Also, of the TWO boxes of bulk peanuts, one was empty and the other box was all stale. Another miss in my book. I hadn't been here for a long time due to the changes and I guess it hasn't made a difference. Next time I'll get better food and good portions at Culver's right down the road. Also they recognize the military by offering us 10% without asking. I'm very humbled by any restaurant that offers this recognition since many families are helped by this small jester of appreciation.

Fries are not as plentiful as they used to be. This is a little fry. $4.29 and no more than could fit in the cup.

I hate giving 5 Guys such a low review, but for the price, they are not what they used to be. The food is still good, but the prices have gone up while the fry portions at this location have decreased. I will not be returning to this one anytime soon.

47 min. Order was wrong. My shortest review, but really, are there any Other words are needed. Nope. Not. But second order was wrong too. 55 minutes now. Still waiting.

Perfect food.

Local bar with some really good burgers at a very fair price! Came here with the kids... "burger…read morepub" always gets them. They both had the Cheesy Burchy Burger and fries and I had the Deluxe Burchy Burger with onion rings. We split fried pickles and I had some hot wings. Server was friendly and food came out fast, which I appreciated because we were all pretty hungry. Fries were slightly underdone which is fine and needed salt but that was easy to fix with the shaker in the table. Burgers are a 1/4 lb smash style and were really good. Super crispy and tons of flavor. A+ on the burgers. Onion rings were fine, and I really liked my wings, crispy and the hot sauce was just right. We all agreed that the pickle chips were good. Kids liked their burgers as well. Note that the burger prices don't include a side, but $6 for a good burger is a Burger King or Wendy's price and for a local place, that's a great value. I'll take a Burchy Burger over a franchise mystery patty any day. J.Ja

I have difficulty with steps but there were enough railings to make it navigable for me. The building was likely to have at one time been a small house. There were six of us in our party and we were initially told we would be sharing one bill and the gratuity would be automatically added. A couple of our folks expressed concern and intentionally ordered cheaper items and no drinks to make sure they had adequate funds to split the bill. Fortunately our waitress, who was a joy, did individual bills and did not put on an automatic gratuity. The policy had the potential to seriously reduce the restaurant's income. They should probably rethink this stance. As noted, our waitress was terrific and rapidly got drink and food orders sorted. The menu is pretty short, but probably a good choice for a small pub type restaurant. My wife and I both selected an on-tap local brew, both of which were good and reasonably priced. We both also selected the fish and chips. The order came with a side of cole slaw that was pleasant. The chips were obviously made on site and both properly cooked and well seasoned. We are always surprised at restaurants that serve obviously bagged and frozen fries. The fish itself was reasonably sized and nicely fried. Quite tasty, but we sort of expected good seafood as this is a sister restaurant to a local seafood establishment. For the price the portion sizes of all the meals at the table seemed just a bit small. So we will quite likely return. It's not fancy. It's not high end dining. It's a tad pricey for pub food, but overall pretty good. I note here that had our waitress not been a gem or had they enforced the one check policy, this review would have been a good deal more negative. I suspect they have an accessible entrance but it was not obvious. That may be a consideration for some and checking ahead of time would be prudent.

My sandwich was good, not a great Reuben but a good sandwich. They definitely needed to get more of the water out of the kraut before putting it on the sandwich, and it wasn't really real rye bread. But I liked it. The Brussels and burnt ends were fine but needed a lot more meat, especially for a $4 up charge over fries (and I think they were $9 menu price which is insane for a side). My kid liked his burger and fries and it honestly looked good. Service was fine, or complaints or anything amazing there. I'm usually not a fan of gussied up burgers and fries but this spot was decent and should be a four star place, but the prices were simply not OK. I could have had a whole steak from Outback for the price of a burger here. I've had much better Reubens in big cities like Chicago, NYC, and Montreal that were bigger and with better sides for less money. If I am paying $22 for a sandwich and side it needs to absolutely change my reality and I that just didn't happen here. Prices need to drop here by 25% or more to be fair. J.Ja
