Love five guys they got huge portions of burgers and fries and don't leave hungry whenever you come here .

I have been here a lot, with break of up to maybe 6 months. And I have been disappointed. Mainly with portion sizes of the little hamburger patty. Five guys does things to assure they are providing quality food. They never offer coupons but that's to assure the quality is not of McDonald's and Burger King. There fries are made for the buyer after orders and they shake them 15 times after being fried to remove access oil. If you order cheese or bacon you can ask for double or triple without being charged. The employees receive a small bonus to their wages when they provide good quality service and food based on a parameter and graded by secret shoppers. So that's how they control their quality. The price is a little much for a meal. But the quaintly warrants the cost. read more

I'm completely underwhelmed. I kept hearing people rave about this place, but I really don't see it. Yeah, you can get grilled onions, but that's not worth 30% more for a fast food burger. Service was slow, and I watched the grillmaster go from handling raw meat to preparing finished burgers without washing or changing his gloves. Cross-contamination rule #1, for Pete's sake! And I watched as one of the burger patties stuck to the spatula and him using his finger to scrape the cheese back onto the patty. Needless to say, I'm not a fan open kitchens, especially when they forget WE CAN SEE YOU! Won't be back. I don't see the point. read more

Awesome!! Why aren't they in Vegas yet? They could give In-n-Out a run for there money! Anyway, it has been a few years since I went to a five guys and to be honest, it's pretty damn good. Their menu is simple and all their topping are up front on a large menu board. No need to know the local secret lingo to order your burger or fries here! Ah, one of our favorite places to grab some burger love when we are passing through St. George on our way to Zion... I'm a big fan of In-N-Out, but I like this place even better. Think of this as an In-N-Out on steroids. They keep the menu simple: hamburger with or without cheese and/or bacon. "Little" means one sizable patty. "Regular" is two patties. The kicker is they allow unlimited additional toppings including sauteed onions and mushrooms for FREE! How great is that? Their burgers are juicy and tasty. The fries still have the skin on them and come in either Five Guys Style (aka regular) or Cajun style. These are also better than the In-N-Out fries. They are crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. They also serve hot dogs, although we have not tried them. They have free refills at the self-serve soda fountain. Complimentary peanuts are available with peanut shells scattered all over the floor like at Phillipe's or Texas Roadhouse restaurants. They are a multi-state chain, but sadly no locations in Vegas yet. read more

I've heard the talk about this burger for a while now, and I decided to try it out for myself. When I arrived I was amazed by the bevy of options you have to put on your burger. It's relatively easy to see and the place does a great job at explaining what is basic on your burger and what you can add on. I went with a single cheeseburger with jalapenos, onions, ketchup and mushrooms. It was a unique mix but it's what I prefer. When I got the burger, you could tell that the burger was hand made. It didn't have a traditional shape and looked more like a burger slapped together in the kitchen. That's not a knock on the burger, but rather it gives Five Guys a much different appeal from the other major chain burger joints. The burger itself tasted delicious. By allowing customers to build their own burgers, it's built to taste which is a major ingredient. The fries tasted good especially with the Cajun seasoning. Now for the reason why it's three stars. The price. I ordered an entire meal and it cost me $10. Around town, I could get so much more with $10 than what I got. For that reason, I have to knock it down. It's just not smart buy given I can go to Fargo's (when it opens again) or In N Out and get a quality burger, fries and a drink for $4 less. Don't get me wrong, Five Guys is a great burger. It's overall quality is better than In N Out, but given the nature of the fast food industry $10 for a standard meal is just too much. In N Out and Fargos is a better bang for buck, but if you want to splurge on a quality burger, Five Guys isn't going to hurt. read more

Let's face it, dining in southern Utah is pretty dismal lilly white bland for the most part, and chain restaurants are not usually something that elevates a culinary experience for a town. Five Guys changes that. Simple and well done without apologies. Would you like onion rings with that? Chocolate shake? Chicken nuggets? Perhaps a nice salad? What, you would? Well too bad pal--hit the road. Burgers, fries and dogs, that's about it. These are rockin' patties of ground cow on buns that are a perfect match for the meat. An insane selection of toppings too. We split an order of cajun fries that were also quite good, though I think maybe a little on the salty side, and I'm not afraid of a little salt-still delish. About the fries...I don't know if this is business as usual but the fries are served in a cup, and boy did that cup runneth over. We ate the cup, then went for the fries at the bottom of the bag, I filled the cup up again with the bag fries---cRaZY! Fresh cut, skin on, fairly thick, crispy outer layer and tender innards. I find it kind of funny that this chain is operated with kind of a bad boy, under the radar, we really don't need to advertise, marketing scheme. No names on their plain brown bags, fry cups, or napkins, very plain signage, yet their name is plastered all over the heaping piles of potato sacs and peanut boxes that dominate the dining area. I can't believe I lived near this place & would pass it several times a week for over a year before I finally gave it a try! As a vegetarian, there's not much on the menu that I can order, but it just so happens that I'm addicted to their fries (regular or Cajun) and their grilled-cheese sandwiches, which I customize with grilled mushrooms & onions. I don't even know what kind of cheese they use (probably American), but it's a wonderful, gooey mess. The employees are mostly very polite high school students. The only complaint I have is that charging something like $3.85 for a grilled-cheese sandwich using normal sized sliced bread seems to be quite excessive, especially when the burgers are around the same price & the mushrooms & onion garnishments I get on it are free. I suppose the good news is that the price they charge for a grilled cheese is what, in principle, keeps me from eating there more than once or twice a month. read more

First time for my wife and me was last night. Clean and with a fairly simple menu. My wife had a single with everythin' but onions; I had the cheeseburger with everythin' includin' jalapenos which, I was told, had two patties. Ended up too sloppy, imo. I felt they could've used somethin' more substantial than what I considered an out-of-the-bag bun. Fries were good and they offered the ubiquitous Utah Fry Sauce. So-so, but I've never understood the allure nor fascination with it anyway. A tad pricey for two burgers, a medium fry and two small drinks (almost $22), but I'm sure we'll try it again. Love five guys! Such a great burger and the fries are fantastic! My kids love to go there and it's a tradition to sit outside and be silly. We enjoy going and just hanging out and having fun while we wait for the food to be cooked. Yes, always freshly cooked and always tastes great! Have never been to a five guys before, stopped in today to grab a couple sandwiches for my wife and I togo. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. The menu is tiny ! Was surprised they don't offer a chicken sandwich. On the menu above the register it says all burgers are cooked well done.. thats a bummer not everyone likes well done burgers I actually prefer mine medium. The burgers were ok, nothing to rave about for a burger only joint we expected a little more. We didn't get anything besides 2 single patty bacon cheeseburgers and the total was almost $14. For that price you'd hope the burger would be at least as big as the bun. I would have gotten an order of the french fries that everybody says are amazing but they were blanching all of them and it wasn't even that busy , I kind of like my French fries fresh. Great for a last minute nothing else around bite to eat, but I dont think we will be back. read more

WOOHOOO! I was happy to try another burger joint other than the In & Out in Vegas. This place is neat with stacks of potato sacks as dividers in the eating area. Absolutely fantastic!! First time I went and ate one of their delectable burgers I (literally) hugged the cook. He thought it was incredibly awkward but gave in to my persuasion. ***I dont rate chains often but due to its growing popularity I have to**** THE GOOD: The Fries! They are fresh cut, perfectly sized and seasoned. Unlike some fresh cut fries they stay warmer and fresher longer because of the thickness. I like the burger options. I can get the basic burger big, huge, with the works, with mushrooms and any variation in between. Similar chains dont offer these types of options. THE BAD: One word, Overrated!!! They charge gourmet burger prices for a 2 dollar burger! In N Out, Johnny Rockets and Baker's alone make the burgers from this place taste like they need to go back to the drawing board. Didnt hate it but there are waaay to many fast food burger chains with better burgers. P.S. The service sucked!!! ALL IN ALL: Shouldn't be in the contest of great fast food burger chains. Five Guys is what it is, if you have never eaten there you should try it. I find that burgers are totally person preference. My wife does not love 5 Guys but I do. She really likes In-n-out and I dont mind In-n-out but I like 5 guys much better. So try it out and if you dont like it dont go there. read more

Coming from a huge In N Out follower, I will say they truly are on par. I think In N Out is fresher and a little cheaper but Five Guys is very good and is just different enough to warrant mixing it up between the two. The decor seems familiar but I like the overall concept and this will beat any fast food burger any day. read more

This place is pretty good. If you're ordering fries you don't need to get a large because they're generous on their portions and when you order a regular size you'll get about half your bag filled with fries. The burgers they make a good too, they taste a lot like a burger you would make on the grill at home. Overall, I like the food, but each time I've gone I regret that I didn't go to IN-N-OUT instead. I would recommend going to IN-N-OUT because I think the burgers are better and a lot cheaper. read more

If I want a burger in St. George, this is where I go. Definitely not the cheapest burger probably not the most expensive, but it beats other Mc-fast food chains by a mile and a half. The burgers thicker, fresher tasting, and taste like they came off of a barbeque, not off of an oily griddle. The veggies on top also taste fresh-sliced instead of bagged. It sounds silly, but the pickles ON the burgers totally make the burger for me - and these did it. Crisp, thick, cold pickles. Also, additional toppings are optional such as sautéed mushrooms (oh yeah) and mustard. No one puts mustard on burgers anymore and its a shame! The fries are different than typical chain fries but not necessarily better. I thought I saw their fries listed on one of the highest-calorie worst-for-you food lists once. So I skip them. read more

Best Five Guys I've been to, and I've been to several in different states. Although I live in California, I always try to make an annual visit to this Five Guys. Always a great stop before and after passing through to Zion or Bryce Canyon. THE single most consistent Five Guys I've ever eaten at. Burgers and fries. Fries are perfect crispness every time. But the real differential here... Two words. Fry Sauce. It's a Utah thing, but all Five Guys should have it, IMO. I actually make it myself at other Five Guys now. I ask for a side of mayo and a side of pickles with extra pickle juice. And then use ketchup from the dispenser. I don't use the pickles in the sauce, everyone acts weird when I just ask for pickle juice. read more

The atmosphere is clean and open, much like the In-n-Out Burger Restaurants, BUT the food is a little more expensive than In-n-Out. Also NO combo meal price so paying for everything separately adds up too. You do get to load up on peanuts that they have around in boxes but I would rather have a lower priced lunch and forget the peanuts. Hamburger was tasty and you get to choose all the toppings for no charge. They also offered Caffeine free Diet Coke and that is always a plus, a fun place to go and the fries are REAL and made fresh. read more

Ive ate at the one in Tempe. And i had business in St George so i tried this one. Staff was friendly and courteous. My burger was juicy and i had the Cajun Fries. One Regular order is enough for 2 maybe even 3 people. I like how they dont charge for extra toppings. My only complaints are maybe they could offer onion rings and shakes. read more

This Burger joint is awesome. I love Potatoes and I love the sacks of Potatoes as a partition. I couldn't believe it at first but it is true, all toppings are free.
