Not too many places in Southfield that you can get a quick lunch that tastes good and has great service. Excited that this restaurant was open during COVID 19 and that they were following Big Gretchen safety orders! BUT my order was NOT correct. I didn't receive my bacon on my Bacon cheeseburger and it didn't have the BBQ sauce as selected. My fries weren't cooked thoroughly, but there was an old man there rushing so I kind of understand the fry part. Once I got home (DEEP EAST) And noticed that my order was missing some key components, I called to try to rectify the situation somehow. When I called someone answered on the second ring, but was talking to someone in the background ("Hey bro, what were you saying...") I then stated that I had just ordered from there and that my order, he cut me off then told me to hold... Well I was on hold for 3-4 minutes and no one ever got back to the phone. Every time I come and I receive terrible service but give it another shot after today I will no longer be back. They don't care about your business here and the place is filthy. Bonus was that they understood my no-bun request perfectly and asked me if I'd like a lettuce wrap or just a bowl- a ton of places don't understand low-carb eating. FOOD COMA!!! So yum! I don't really have to give any of you the run down on this place, I'm sure a lot of you have already been to a 5 Guys....even though it was my first visit. The one thing that goes for me and burgers, is unless a restaurant is screaming "WE HAVE THE BEST BURGERS IN TOWN" or they are known around town for their burgers, I won't usually order one because I don't want to be let down. So, when in need (of a burger) I tend to go somewhere that is doing the above (SCREAMING!!!) and today, I did just that....and... YAY!!! Fabulous burger!! We ordered online from work, and I loved that when I got my burger, it was loaded with everything I requested, and all melded together from being wrapped up...yum yum yum... I was in the mood for a big, fat, juicy, pink-in-the-middle burger and I couldn't think of a quick, reasonably priced place other than redcoat to get it so I pulled up yelp and found this place. I had heard about it but never tried it. I was not totally disappointed. The patties were kinda thin but they put two on unless requested otherwise. Surprisingly, even with the thin patty, it was still a little pink in the middle. I think the burger gods heard my request. The ingredients were fresh. It was greasy but in the best way possible. I didn't get exactly the burger of my dreams, for which I will keep searching, but I found a oh-so bad but oh-so good one I'll keep in my little black burger book if I get a late night craving. read more

I went down today because I just had to try the burger that has been jumping leaps and bounds throught the midwest (from the east coast). Full disclosure, I am a fan of Bagger Dave's in Berkley where I live. But with all the fanfare, I just had to go to Oak Park and try the burger. I was impressed by the staff. They were cheerful and a happy vocal lot. It was an upbeat atmosphere. I saw people chowing down on peanuts and by golly they served Coke products (Diet Coke guy). I was overwhelmed even after reading the menu on line and savouring the possibility of hamburger delight when the young lady asked me what I would like. I almost stuttered. Then I ordered the cheeseburger. I asked her what I could have on it, again knowing beforehand what I could have, but forgetting as I was about to enter burger bliss. I ordered the basics. Ketchup, Mustard, lettuce, onion and tomato and a small diet coke. The young lady, very nice as with the rest of the crew, ordered me up and gave me a number. I took a seat and watched as she ran out from behind the counter to do some unbelievable cleaning of everything that I thought could be cleaned (no one was behind me). I didn't have a cup for my small Diet coke and I went to ask her and she said go just grab one from the counter, no problem. I filled my glass and waited for Burger Bliss. My number was called after a few minutes. Everyone behind the counter cooking and hustling, kudo's to them. A good atmosphere. My burger came and I went to my car, it was a tad sunny so I decided to eat there. I pulled the two patty burger out and my first bite was too much fresh crispy iceberg lettuce. We are talking Hump back whale ice berg lettuce. The tomato was all over the place. Both overwhelmed the burger. So I took the lettuce and the tomato off. seeking Burger Bliss. The onion, ketchup and mustard was still there, along with the semi melted cheese, which tasted somewhat cold. I wanted melted american cheese. This was almost Daddy's mistake at a back yard bar-b-que. Under melted cheese. I took a bite out of what I had left and it was just a tad above Wendy's, just bigger (I've had their single burger with cheese plain). I tasted the onion and the ketchup and mustard and thought that I had screwed up somehow. I ate the whole thing, but it was a total dissapointment. I was so let down, so let down. The meat was like overcooked ground chuck, I was....disillusioned at that point. Maybe next time I will order it differently, but this time, after all the fanfare, the meat was the biggest dissapointment. Sorry. No burger bliss. I was depressed for a while after that. First time eating at a Five Guys. Awesome experience. They were steady with business, but Deja was incredibly patient when she took my order and made sure I knew I needed to order the toppings I wanted on my burger she also made me a delicious milkshake. I realize that everybody has different tastes. But these rash of good reviews for mediocre product has to stop. Upon recs from THIS site I went to five guys expecting greatness. After all, so many great reviews... what I got was a big fat huh??? This is what people have been raving about? Too greasy. Even for a burger. And the fries...I'll take Rallys any day. Just simply nothing to brag about. If you're out and about and you want to eat...fine...it won't kill you. But to be making trips just for this, or planning your weekend around it? Hell No. And then to list as a top 5 burger in Michigan? Blasphemy. Anybody that says five guys has the best burger...doesn't get out much. Best Burgers 1. Yes! Yes! And more yes! This place is awesome! I wasn't sure if I had ever been to a 5 guys before when me and my boyfriend decided to stop in for lunch but I'm so glad we did! I got a little bacon burger with mayo, grilled onions, mushrooms and cheese and it was AWESOME! The fries at this place are outstanding especially with a little malt vinegar and ketchup, there are also peanuts for snacking while you wait! Yummy! The staff was great here and the restaurant was very clean, bathroom and all! I will definitely be back to try something else because they have grilled hot dogs too! Lol read more

This was the very first location in which I tasted Five Guys, and to this day, it is hands down my favorite fast food burger. I have no idea what they do differently than any other fast food joint, but they do it well! The beef is tender & flavorful (not to mention greasy!) and all the condiments and toppings are free! You can't beat that. They have hotdogs, which are pretty good, but they are kind of expensive for just hotdogs with bacon on them, nothing really that special about them. The only bad thing I can say about Five Guys is that the burgers are really fattening, which means you can only eat them every once in a while...but if you're not on a diet, screw it! Go everyday! I highly recommend doing a double bacon cheeseburger with bbq sauce, it's my go-to burger & it's meaty, saucy heaven. read more

Some of the other restaurants in the area are a bit run-down and have poor service. This place is spotless, music loud enough to hear but not too loud to interfere in visiting with friends; the food was very good; and service very professional and casual... no screaming staff laughing louder than necessary or busy with themselves rather than the customer. Outstanding Burgers. Beef is really delicious. The ordering process is very easy & simple since the toppings(lettuce, tomatoes, ketchup, mayo,etc...) are not automatically put on the burger. You tell them which toppings you want upon ordering. When it comes to fast food, my favorite is Burger King's meat. But Five Guys burgers are a step above from your regular fast food. Went to the one on 12mi and telegraph, there was a short wait, but it was worth it. The fries remind you of the ones you get at the Michigan State Fair, fresh cut in the cup. Really great workers there! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by numerous workers. They have excellent service and I even saw one of the men who work there run to hold the door open for an elderly lady as she was exiting. As you leave they thank you for coming and all wear smiles. Honestly I was shocked at how amazingly friendly they were. I've been to 3 other Five Guys locations and if this one wasnt so far from my house I'd go there all the time! Great food and great people!! Keep up the work guys! Best customer service!
