I've never been to a Five Guys before, I know it's a crime. Our friends showed us how to order. I went for the regular cheeseburger (2 patties) with grilled mushrooms and onions, mustard, and ketchup. Comes with free toppings. My answer would be, have you ever watched the Food Channel when they are giving a review? When they are describing something they love and the angels start singing well that was my moment. It was so oi and gooey. The cheese, onions, and mushrooms were good on the burger. It was time for them to close and they were patient with us finishing. Standby whodi, I am about to tell you. The secret to Five Guys is to skip the bun. Hold up. Wait. Skip the bun? You heard me right the first time. Here is the secret. Let's say you find yourself working in New Orleans East and you want a quick meal that won't get all over your clothes. Get online, download the fiveguys app, and order a burger or hot dog exactly like you want it, and click no bun (bowl). They will make the burger exactly like you like, but you can eat it with a fork and a knife. You won't even miss the bun. Trust me. SO now that I have explained the secret of FG, I'll fill you in on this particular location. Parking can be a bit difficult as the lot services several other businesses. Ordering online is a great way to avoid the lunch rush. Bathrooms are clean and single seater so you can wash your hands in peace. Maybe it is just me but the people in this location stare at me as if I am an alien. I've been here about three times in the past couple of months. It never fails. I walk in and people just stare like they can tell I am from the westbank and am not good enough to be in Slidell. I just stare back and they usually avert their gaze. It's been 5 years since I've had a 5 Guys Burger. I got the little cheeseburger, which was good and fresh. I am glad they posted the calories: 610 calories. Husband got double bacon cheeseburger which was huge. It is 920 calories. We split a small fries and it was plenty for both of us. They were fresh and delicious. Drinks are self serve, with refills. Cashier was friendly, and we got our order served correctly. The restaurant was clean, and lots of places to sit. Good thing since about 20 people came in after us! read more

I just ordered a bacon cheeseburger to go by the time I made it home. I discovered that there was no cheese or bacon on the burger.

Overpriced. Overhyped. I don't get it ya'll. The fries were good, I'll give Five Guy's that. (1 star) The atmosphere here is chill. I'll give Five Guy's that. (Star #2) But the burger. The burger isn't all that. It was full of gristle (gross) and greasy. I love a big, juicy cheeseburger with all the toppings I can get as much as the next guy (girl) but damn, Five Guy's. Drain the grease off a little before you slap it on that bun. And the gristle. I can not even go there. I'm recoiling just thinking about it. I mean, disgusting. On the subject of their food. Bland burgers. Awesome fries. Now on to the problem with this place. On August 31st, I went to FG with my son to eat. After we finished and were leaving, a female employee called me over and asked me a highly inappropriate question. She asked, "Is your son autistic or OCD?" Out of the blue. No prompting. I find that line of questioning unprofessional. I told her no, but then she said that one of the other employees has OCD, and pointed him out to me. Seriously? I went at 2:21pm for lunch and the cashier was very rude. Very aggressive and agitated for no reason. It was a very off putting experience. Fries were cold as well as my burger. There was a special needs women behind me and he was very rude when asking why she didn't have a mask on. She clearly did not have one so to ask "ma'am do you have a mask on !?" Was a clearly dumb question and to ask her in the middle of taking my order was very rude. Also when the Cashier handed me my drink I grabbed a lid and a straw and was walking to the machine to make my drink. Then the cashier is yelling "Sir ! Sir ! Sir!" At me I turned around and the Cashier asked me "did you grab the correct lid?" I'm not understanding why this cashier is the way he is but I don't think he should be talking to customers. This place is so cool atmosphere is great. Missing TV's but it's OK. Good music. Burgers are great no extra charge for toppings there are tons of toppings including jalepenos A1 sauce hot sauce grilled mushrooms and onions. There fries still have the peeling on it which is awesome and there is 2 ways to get them regular or Cajun. I love the Cajun. When you get your order they give you a cup of fries and they dump more in the bag so you definitely get your money worth. Gross Yuck Flies Everywhere. Waited in line several minutes at lunch time just to order. Overpriced $6 burgers. Waited a looooong time for the food. If you're getting it to go, and the tables are full, there is no good place to wait. Customers were constantly trying to get past or around me to reach the restrooms or drink machines. After several more minutes of waiting, I moved over by the food prep area, which is on display behind a short see-thru panel. There were about 15 burgers all laid out and made except they were missing their meat patties. Buns full of mayo, lettuce, bacon, and other toppings were laid out on the counter for a long time. 2 employees were crowding the griddle, trying to cook all those patties. This was the lunch hour so you would think they would have been more prepared with meat. As I waited, a fly buzzed in front of my nose. Then I noticed it landed on top of an open bun covered with condiments. I watched 3 flies dance around on everyone's burgers while I waited. I started thinking, Yuck I don't know if I'm going to be able to eat here after watching the flies have free access to the food prep area. The burger assembler was watching the flies too. He quietly moved his mustard bottle towards the flies and bumped the counter, causing all the flies to spring up into the air for a moment, before landing on the food again 5 seconds later. I thought, Okay, none have landed on my burger yet, so I'll wait and see. Someone quickly placed the meat on my burger, but didn't wrap it up, and turned away to attend the griddle again. Immediately a fly landed on my lettuce. I watched it walk a big semi-circle around my bun top, all over my lettuce and mayo. Then it flew over and started waltzing on my burger meat too. I went to the counter for a refund and was told I'd have to wait to speak to a manager. Just getting the refund took another 7 minutes! They couldn't refund it to cash since the general manager had chosen the 12 o'clock lunch rush to make a run to the bank (something you never do, if you're in the food service business), so they had to give me a totally useless gift card, which I guess I will have to throw away. read more

Today I went into Five Guys. I called in an order. My experience was not good. I go up to the register and tell them the name on my order. Instead of my name showing up it is another name that person who took my order put in the computer. I decided to check my food before I left b/c the last time I was there I got home and my order was wrong. Here again it was wrong. This time is was the fries. I ordered Cajun fries and was given plain fries. I tell the server my fries are wrong and he asks me if I would take some seasonings to put on the fries. I told him no I want what I ordered. He gets an attitude and tells me well he was just asking. He then puts some fries in the bag throw it on the counter all the while having an attitude. I promptly took my food and left.I get to the car and the fries were greasy and warm not even hot. While I waiting on my food a white customer brought back his fries b/c they were mushy. Do not go here. Especially if you are a person of color. The only person on color working there was sweeping the floor. They are not friendly and they have not gotten my order right at all.
