The food from Five Guys being good and expensive is a given. We enjoyed our meal. What we didn't enjoy is that the restaurant was extremely hot inside. If we were pouring sweat I can't imagine the staff and how bad they were. That mainly ruined the experience as AC is the only way that makes Texas "Liveable" I hope they have it fixed now or have a disclaimer. read more

Not cheap, $7.69 for a dog? Got mine lettuce wrapped since I'm gluten free and it was more like a hot dog salad. Awesome with mushrooms, onions, lettuce, pickles, special sauce, tomatoes. Yum Best fries around, a small is e Pugh to feed 2 ppl and they are made fresh. Not cheap but as healthy as you will find, with peanut oil. Hard chairs, bring a pillow if you don't have much of a bottom. Clean, friendly staff , you get free peanuts if you want. Like the vinegar they have for the fries. They had a special deal with a small hamburger, drink and fries . read more

Me and my partner came in and immediately got eyes rolled at us by a lady working at the cash register tonight. We greeted her and said "Hello" and she rolled her eyes... didn't say a word. service, service, service! food is good, place is CLEAN, customer service is lacking! it's all about the impression you make on the customer. working in customer service myself i know it's super important to make the customer happy and treat them as you'd want to be treated along with making their experience one they'll always remember for a good reason! this place is quick clean and tidy but what's the point on being quick when you're making the entire order incorrectly and making the customer have to come back SEVERAL times to correct it before just giving up, for as much as it costs you'd think you'd get the order right or at least try! read more

The last three visits my bacon cheeseburger is missing the bacon. Same for the whipped cream on my shake, which I probably don't need. But why have it broken down into options if you aren't going to include it? I love the food here but it's a hassle to get what you want right. We order as a big staff here and it is convenient to be near our store for lunch option. Might consider Chester's even though its not as close. =( read more

Im not a regular here, but I've been a couple of times. This last time I was there I was a bit disappointed about a couple of things. 1 burger, 1 little burger, a soft drink and small fries plus tip came up to $40, which is a bit higher than usual for fast food. The buns were cold and the fries had too much seasoning. We got the burgers 'all the way', and the buns got soggy and couldn't hold the burger. Portions are very generous, service was ok and the place could use some cleaning. Plenty of available tables but all of them were sticky. This experience makes me feel like I'm not coming back to this location, since there are plenty of local joints with fresh burgers and better prices. read more

If I could give this place negative reviews just based off of customer service I would give them -5 stars. 1st and foremost no apologies are said to customers who don't carry cash, I asked if I can place my order and run to the atm since I drove 45 minutes to this location and the employee said it will confuse him and he can't do multiple things at once (hence bad multi tasker). When I return with cash because I had to inconveniently run to the atm the same employee mouths to the new employee at the register as I walk in, "here he goes again". The new employee didn't even say hi, he just said "I just got in". The level of customer service and professionalism has eluded this location. Not to mention they didn't give me a receipt and they made my order incorrect. The best part was my ice was dirty as if they never cleaned the machine. I highly recommend to avoid this place at all costs unless you want to risk your wallet and your health. read more

This place is always average. Good burger, good home cut fries and good service. Is it worth $12 I don't think so but we still go.

1) Service was great. John P was friendly and courteous and explained the menu to us as it was our first time there. 2) Food was excellent, hot fresh cut fries, quarter pound burger with whatever you want on it for free. 3) Nice location on Basse near the Quarry, plenty of parking, clean dining area and free peanuts while you wait for your food. 4) Great food and experience. Can't wait to go back again. read more

Five Guys - Massive - Burgers Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

I wish Yelp allowed 1/2 stars b/c this place truly is a 4.5 star experience. Every visit I've made has been welcomed with a friendly and engaging staff that kicks the trip off with the perfect start. Head to the counter and customize the heck out of the burger of your choice. As others have warned the portions are HUGE: a regular burger is double patty, a small is a single patty. Their veggie sandwich is your choice from their veggie toppings, they don't have a formal veggie patty and that is in no way a complaint. I love coming here for their veggie sandwich with cheese and loading that sucker up in a variety of ways that always include their fresh and spicy jalapenos (my most recent trip I added relish and really enjoyed it). When it comes to the fries they are always fresh and super hot from the fryer, and while they offer Cajun fries, I always opt for the original, for some reason I'm just not a fan of the Cajun style. A small fry can feed two to three folks easily but if that's not your thing they do offer complementary peanuts while you wait for your amazing food to be made. So far as drinks they do have one of the super cool ultra customizable Coke machines so have fun mixing it up and coming up with all sorts of flavor combos. Having our office over in the Quarry area, I'm glad that Five Guy is there with all of their options so I never have to worry about getting burnt out, eating the same thing over and over again. read more

By far my favorite place to get a cheeseburger. It's a little pricey, but definitely worth it in my opinion.

I am consistently happy with the quality food from five guys. The quality is across the board. This location was no exception. Clean tables and fast service, music wasn't too loud and set he mood nicely for a lazy Sunday afternoon burger bash. Sooooo, this place is great! Everything was fresh, the people were so nice and the location was very clean. I got the burger and some fries. The burger was amazing! Everything was perfect the portions we well suited to the bun. The meat and bacon was freshly cooked and had great flavor! I want another burger as I write this! The fries were fresh as well! The portion is HUGE, it's enough for two people! I got the Cajun fries and I loved the spices they added. Also, they have a fountain that has all the flavor options...like lemon and cherry. I love that!! Overall they are pretty amazing!! read more

When it comes to burgers these (five) guys know exactly what's what! Let's start with the novelty of eating peanuts (roasted, salted, in the shell) while you're waiting for your order to be completed. They're self-serve and free, so enjoy the protein boost before your beefy order is served. Then take a glance at the impressive menu: burgers, burgers, oh, and they also have burgers. Your main decision is going to be whether you'd like 1 patty or 2, or if you'd like to have a vegetable sandwich (that's right vegetarians they're here to feed you, too). A quick look to the right of the cash registers will reveal today's potato selection and source. Sometimes they're from Washington, sometimes they're form Idaho, sometimes they're from someplace completely different! So the fries are going to vary, but they're always delicious. You can choose between two sizes of french fry orders and two different serving styles: Cajun or Five Guys. Cajun involves a dusting of a very good selection of spices. Great idea! Tip: if you just want to try the Cajun seasoning on a little bit of your order before you commit, ask for the seasoning on the side. True, these burgers aren't cheap, but they're worth the price and minimal wait. There isn't usually a huge line at the restaurant and even when there is it moves pretty quickly. The employees have their order-taking-methods down to a science! It's a great place for kids, but it's messy, so bring a change of clothes for the little guys! Enjoy! read more

In 2000, Washingtonpost. com called Five Guys the "Willy Wonkas of Burgercraft." I have to agree: this is pretty much the golden ticket of inexpensive burger joints. Five Guys boasts Little Burgers (single patties), Normal Burgers (two patties), fries (regular or Cajun), and hot dogs too. A sign lets customers know that the potatoes are cooked in 100% peanut oil, so I can at least pretend to feel slightly healthy. If you are a fan of burger toppings, this is your place! You can choose the basics, like tomatoes, pickles, lettuce and mustard, but if you want to mix it up, they have grilled mushrooms, jalapeno, and A-1 for no added cost. No added cost, I say! That's terrific, folks. Five Guys has a simple 50's feel, sporting checkered red and white walls and an ample amount of plain tables. It's no wonder so many tables are required... the line gets long quickly! But the service is excellent, with a friendly lady taking our order as if she truly cares what topping we get on our Little Cheeseburgers. Our order, consisting of two burgers, fries and a soft drink, comes to just under $14. Nice. The one downfall for the burgers and fries could be that they are pretty darn messy. But, in my humble opinion, the mess just makes the experience that much more tactile. If you want to keep a little less messy, simply use the foil wrapping they provide to wrap up the bottom half of the burger. Free peanuts add to the fun, the setting is casual and relaxed, and you can sit contentedly eating your Cajun fries (did I mention that they are amazing?) listening to classics like Tom Petty and Def Leopard. Unfortunately, Five Guys does bring out the gluttony and greed in me: I can shove down the last bite of my burger! Just one more fry! It's mine, all mine! I'll keep on going back though, until you have to roll me out like a big, Violet Beauregard blueberry. It is so worth it. read more

These guys do burgers, and fries. That's it. Want something else? Go eat somewhere else. But, they do what they do well. You know that you aren't getting some frozen french fries, or stuff from a box. They have their potato boxes out in the dining area so you can inspect your spuds. I think it's great that they offer free peanuts in the dining room. I'm not sure if you're supposed to throw your shells on the floor or not. I tend to make a mess anyways, so I don't feel bad about it. I think I would avoid this place if I was allergic to peanuts. Their menu is pretty bare-bones. Hamburger, cheeseburger, fries. They might offer hotdogs too, but don't get your hopes up. The burgers are decent. They flavor their patties well. Not much in the way of condiments. The prices are a bit steep for what you get, but you won't walk away hungry on account of all the peanuts you can eat. read more

They were not taking cards and only accepted cash. They also seemed to be having problems with the AC since they had a giant fan standing in front of the counter. All establishments have problems every so often but these two at the same time? read more

Cool menu. Good burger. Semi-blah restaurant. I like this place enough to eat here again, but really, it's just a burger. Blown away? Definitely not. But the bun is buttered and toasted and the bacon is crisp. The toppings, as others have said, are "free," or perhaps more accurately, "convey with paid burger." The free toppings are okay, but nothing amazing. The grilled mushrooms are grilled mushrooms but they are *canned* grilled mushrooms. The menu is a little confusing even though there are so few choices. The "little" burger is not little. It is average and for both my husband and I, enough. It is just one meat patty instead of two. Yep, the burgers are messy as other reviewers have said, but I think they are messy because the orderer gets giddy over the free topping choices. The mess is worth the extra napkin. Speaking of mess, the inside of this place is not clean enough. Perhaps it's the peanuts or the potatoes stacked around the room, but I don't like the overt red and white tile mixed with dirty. Overall, this place is good. It's a knock-off In-N-Out and somewhat on par with Freddy's. read more

Five Guys - two "little" bacon cheeseburgers + large cajun fry - Burgers Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

I know Five Guys is well known, but I've never tried it out until today. I'm a pizza over burger type of girl so it's rare to come to a burger spot. While other ladies went to the salata across the street I chose to try it out! The ambiance reminds me of In-N-Out with the old fashion red and white look. Immediately I see burger options, hot dogs, sides, and milk shakes. There's a free topping option for burgers that you can add all if wanted with no charge. This also applies with the milkshakes. Add ons are not charged at all and you can get as many as you want! I was in a shake mood so I ordered mine simply with just Oreo cookie crumbles, but my coworker had Oreos, salted caramel, and peanut butter. It's kind of sad to see all the calories on the menu because this led me to choose a grilled cheese sandwich instead of a bacon hotdog for sure. Had to make sure I chose something lower in calories since I was getting a shake! The grilled cheese was delicious! I love the type of cheddar they use because it's thick and well melted. The Oreo crumble milkshake was amazing! Not as thick but delicious enough to be finished up fast. I will come back to try the burgers. They didn't look to large but it was well packed in layers. read more

Foil Wrapped BurgerFoil Wrapped Burger Worst squishy, tasteless burger ever! My husband ordered two lettuce and tomato only burgers to go. What we opened at home were two over-mayonnaised, over-ketchuped and highly mushroomed (?) squishy pieces of bun with a tiny bit of meat, two hard tomatoes and a wisp of lettuce each. Too sweet, too blobby but perfectly awful. The over abundant fries did not make up for these horrible hamburgers. I'm coming back, Chester's! read more

Being from Cali I'm a huge fan of In & Out so when I got to Texas everyone raved about Five Guys so I had to try it. It's good. I'll give it that, but I still prefer In & Out. Now before anyone starts hatin'g let start off by saying I would still eat here. They give free peanuts and have hot dogs as well as burgers. They pack mushrooms and pickles into their burger and it comes with 2 patties instead of one. It's about 6 bucks for a burger but it's quite big. You can also get cajun style fries, though I wasn't a huge fan of their fries. I'm only giving it 4 stars because I didn't expect it to be so expensive for a combo meal. Definitely recommended to try out! read more

The thing about, 5 Guys they never called their burgers "gourmet" but they do claim that all their ingredients are all natural. The burgers from a fast-food chain are from a food plant like SYSCO which makes artificial food. People that come to a restaurant that specializes in natural ingredients, they're going to be use to that process artificial food flavors. When they eat food that is all natural it's very foreign to them, and that's why they cry out how: The Clown, The Jack, The King, or The Redhead is better. 5G's fries never seem or been in a freezer and their vegetable don't come from South America. PS- 5G, $3.49 for a small fries. Really, come on! I don't eat here as much cause of the prices. read more

As soon as you walk in everyone greets you with a genuine smile. The smell is just the delicious scent of burgers. They build your burger however you want it to be. They toast all of the buns and they cook the burgers right in front of you. So you can watch all the magic happen.
