I've been going here for 11 years. Unfortunately it's just not a great as it used to be. I ordered the little bacon burger. Got a cheeseburger missing the bacon and mushrooms. The cheese was cold and not melted. While going back to the counter another customer was complaining to the manager about their order and asked me if my food was cold. So I had to wait on the remake and just ate fries. By the time my burger was ready I just took it to go. Hubby burger was missing mushrooms. So hate that one of my favorite places left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

What a great burger place. Threw me for a loop, as there weren't five guys but instead about five wonderfully varied culinary specialists intent on serving me a fresh delicious triple patty cheese burger after leg day. So the service was fast and friendly and I was greeted when I walked in. One of my favorite places because of the drawrings people place in crayon. Yes, that drawing has an extra R on purpose. Speaking of extra- peanuts and fries are in abundance in this well lit, spacious seating area. I will be back and think you should too. read more

Definitely one of the better burger places! Juicy burgers, steaming hot, crispy fries, and AYCE peanuts while you're waiting for your food.

We walked in on a Saturday afternoon and there was no line, SCORE! We were greeted right away and our order was taken. The restaurant was very clean, no peanut shells on the floor a def plus! I tried to get some unsweet tea and it was like pure tea no water, ewwww.... We got our drinks and took a seat, and within a few minutes our number was called! Unwrapping the burgers got us excited as there was melted cheese and grease all over the place mmm! First we had to rearrange the toppings as everything was on one side (no biggie) but the first bite underwhelming.... the bread was already kinda soggy, the burgers for being made on a flat top they tasted more like they were boiled or steamed... No char, no real flavor IMO. The fries were pretty good, a nice mix of crunchy and tender fries. All in all for the price this would not be my first choice for my next burger. read more

Today was my family's day out to eat and we all decided to get five guys. To be honest, I haven't had five guys in maybe over a year so I was really looking forward to this meal. We placed the order online, drove less than 10 minutes to pick it up, our fault was not making sure that our order was made correctly before leaving the store. When we got home, we opened our burgers, very excited, just to see that none of the toppings that we ordered were correct on our burgers. Very disappointing. read more

I honestly don't mind paying 10ish dollars for a burger but the quality of these has gone soooo down. This patty is smaller than a McDonald's burger at this point and that's that I ordered a normal cheeseburger lol.. the fries were alright - pretty well done too although they were generous with the portion. We asked for extra of some of our toppings while ordering and they looked at us like we had five heads so we just said never mind. Overall, mediocre and will just be sticking to my normal "fast food" burger joint Whataburger or Shake Shack which have much better quality and tasting burgers. read more

I have not ate at a Five Guys restaurant in forever (2013), and I can't believe it's taken me forever to eat at one again. My burger and fries were delicious. I love how seasoned my fries were. Customer service was excellent. I want to come back to try the their milkshake. read more

Five Guys - Pictures do no justice, but this burger was flavorful, juicy, and delicious. - Burgers Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

The culinary experience was exceptional, particularly the cheeseburgers and fries. The latter were exceptionally delectable. The service was prompt and efficient. However, it is important to note that the establishment is quite expensive. If you are on a budget, you may consider alternative options such as Whataburger. Overalls, ITS THE BEST YOU CANNT CHANGE MY MIND. read more

I really like this location! Food is always great! Employees are very attentive to everyone who walks in. They acknowledge you even when you are leaving. We ate there last night and they did that with every person who walked in the door. The times where there was no customers, they were all keeping busy and cleaning the dine in area. Everyone is so nice and place is clean. Our food came out fast and was delicious. Manager or supervisor running this is doing great! read more

I was really wanting a good burger and they never disappoint but I didn't get off work until 9 and they are 30mins away. I hate to be that person but I went in 30 minutes before closing and expected the employees to respond accordingly. I was greeted by a smile and hello, welcome by every single employee! They were extremely kind and quick given the time of day. Never have I seen such great staff! Not even at the restaurant I work in. The food was amazing, the dining room was super clean, and all in all I was so happy I had to leave credit where credit is due. Amazinggggg will be back!! read more

Come on. Price is outrageous in this joint. I'm not eating in Saltgrass or anything but a burger joint. Burgers and fries are good but I don't think I want to pay for 20+ for a meal (BTW they don't have a meal). Bacon cheese dog is served in melted square cheese and strips of bacon (pic below). Service was great and the restaurant was clean! Can't go wrong with a burger from here.

I cannot recommend a cheeseburger for $12+ Their prices used to be reasonable and they were my favorite burger joint. But it's reached a tipping point where the satisfaction I get from the burger and fries isn't in line with a) the cost and b) competitor prices/quality. I went in a week ago (after having last gone a couple years ago- when it was still overpriced). I walked in, saw the prices, then turned around and went somewhere else did much cheaper. Come on, Five Guys. People can't/won't play $20+ for a burger meal at a place like this. Y'all gotta think of another way to cut costs before you're run outta town. This is Texas, not California. We ain't gonna tolerate those inflated prices. read more

This Five Guys should seriously reconsider rebranding as Fry Guys because hot dang, y'all. Five Guys has been in San Antonio for a hot second, but with all the happening hamburger joints in SA, it's really hard to justify going to a Chicago eatery over any of my favorite local spots. That said, I had this urge for some natural cut fries yesterday, vaguely remembered the Five Guys close to my house has them, and squeal-tired my whole way over to pick up a Little Cajun order. How had I never had these with Cajun seasoning before?? The real draw for these fries? You order a small and the Five Guys guys with hearts of gold pour extras all over that greased-up brown bag. After the last bite, you can bet I rubbed the inside of that paper sack all over my face because that seasoning is exceptionally delicious AND exfoliating. Two birds, one stone, mah dudes. Two birds, one stone. So while the burger may not be my favorite, the fries are going to keep me coming back because a good fry is worth its salt. read more

Service was really slow. The workers were chatting loudly instead of doing their job.

Couple of times I came here customer service is great always get my food right and even tho there about to close they don't rush you

When the food is fresh it's fantastic! I don't want to grade them down bc we received our food very late from the deliverer. I think it was ubereats, but either way Five Guys fries are the best! The restaurant is always very clean, and customer service is great. When you enter you are greater right away! I highly recommend their food! read more

My daughter and I went out for some daddy daughter time as she picked this place out, and I myself have had a burger from this place but it was years ago. This go round I came back with a burger in mind which was the grilled cheese burger (it's not on the menu you have to ask for it) I also added lettuce, onions, pickles, and Mayo it was fucking delicious if I go back I'll add tomatoes which I probably will as my daughter loved her bacon double cheese burger and she asked me this morning when we go again to make sure that she puts the onions on top of her burger instead having them on the side lol, and the fries that came with the meals are pretty damn good as well I got the Cajun fries, and she got the regular fries. The service was good, they are really friendly there the burgers, and fries where prepared fast and to order. The ambiance was like a burger diner should be and was very clean. But the reason for the three stars is due to the bill I paid almost 50.00$ for two meals and for the amount of food you are getting that is steep as I know of a place not far from this location that I would pay this price and get a burger that is as good and would leave with left overs, and feeling better about what I spent. Bottom line the food is good but to expensive. read more

Five Guys - My bill for two burgers, fries, and drinks. - Burgers Near Me - San Antonio, Texas

Where do I begin? Upon entering you are greeted by, what seems to be, huge bags of rice... although I'm pretty sure they taters now that I know they make their own fries. So that mystery was solved quickly. You don't spend much time with the rice/taters as almost immediately upon entering you are greeted by every single employee, at once. And it's not your usual, monotone, "welcome to"... no. It's hi! How are you today? Welcome in! Etc. THEY ARE SUUUUPER NICE... then the ordering. It's at the counter ordering and there is a big plastic shield (not complaining) so you have to kind of speak up. I ordered a "regular cheeseburger". I was asked if I wanted just 1 patty as it comes with 2. Heck no! Give me the 2... for sure. Thought it was alright tho that he asked me instead of leaving me to be totally surprised at a regular being so amazing with 2 patties. Moving on. Ordered a small fry. Daughter got a regular as well. They gave us some peanuts in the shell while we waited. They were actually really good. Food comes. It. Is. Amazing. The cheese is melted perfectly. The veggies are plenty and fresh. But the fries. I'm so glad we only ordered one. Oly Moly MacaRoly!!!! You get your money's worth for sure! I was not disappointed in any aspect, whatsoever, from my visit. Just great. **** items are sold a la carte so it's not a budget friendly place unless you don't eat a lot and could share. We spent $34 with tip. (You have the option to tip when paying. They very much appreciate it). I believe it gets split between the team. I didn't ask, but you could just kind of tell. I will definitely not be staying away from this spot. read more

I went to Give Guys to get a cheeseburger combo meal. They wanted $21 which was way too expensive. I told them to cancel and went to Laguna Madre instead. Had a 8 piece fried shrimp, onion rings, coleslaw, a large Pepsi, and a huge cookie all for $15.70 tax included. Five guys really???? More expensive than seafood? read more

Since we planned on splitting the burger and fries, it was an ok deal. But if you are going for lunch with the guys from work and expecting your own meal, it's kinda pricey. See prices at the end of review. Service was good and I would go back if someone else in my party wanted to go there but I don't see myself ever "craving" this place. We shared a cheeseburger all the way (with no onions cuz someone was being picky) with the little Cajun seasoned fries, no drink and it was literally $11.99. We got it to go and had drinks at home. Burger verdict - turned out to be a double patty cheeseburger so splitting between us was perfect. Although I am DEF a fan of greasy food (adds flavor) this burger was borderline too much. It worked out ok but getting it to go and the extra five minutes that was added before we got home almost made the bottom bun too soggy to hold and eat. Cajun fries verdict - the "little" serving was PLENTY for the two of us (and I ain't no skinny boy). Save yourself some coin and get the "little" serving as they call it. The seasoning was just ok. I would compare it to Tony Chachere's famous Creole seasoning. Might be a tad salty for some. Cheeseburger all the way (turned out to be a double cheeseburger) - $7.89 "Little" Cajun fry - $3.19 No drink Total price with tax was $11.99 - not bad for two people but if you are on your own, too pricey for what it is. read more

I walked in to try their cheeseburger. Many complain about the price, but to me, it was worth it. You can taste the difference compared to other restaurants. Great burger!!! They have the best burgers, like literally in my top 5 when I am in the MOOD FOR BEEF LOL Really simplistic style of ordering, whatever you want on your burger GUARANTEED they have it. Onions, red onions, jalapenos, mushrooms, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, spinach, lol ok spinach might be a stretch but you get the message. Try 5 guys, guaranteed you will love it Trust me. read more

Order was hotdog and small fries. Result: Hotdog was grilled and very tasty. Fries were disappointing. Fries tirade: For the type of fries that Five Guys serve I understand it can be tricky to get it right (natural and seemingly fresh cut (but probably not)). I always order/ask that the fries be cooked a little longer. My success in getting them that way is about 40% of the time. Today was no exception. I asked to have the fries cooked a little longer and the guy said, "Sure". You might guess what happened next... I received fries that were flimsy, grease-logged, undercooked and generally unappetizing. I don't know if its the potatoes they use or the frying technique (not enough time in fryer, frying too many fries at one time or the oil is not hot enough), but I found about 6 fries in the bag that I found edible. Sad, because when they get it right, its pretty dang good. However, when they don't, it makes you question your caloric choices. read more

The best hot dog I used to eat was from the Original Hot Dog Shop in Oakland, PA while at Pitt. Five Guys hot dogs surpasses the Original's hot dogs by far. Five Guys splits their hot dogs grills them places them on your choice of bun, and provides an endless choice of toppings. Yummy! read more

I came to Five Guys for the first time today because I had heard that it is a really good burger place so I was pretty excited to try it out. The service is pretty fast and convenient if you're looking for a quick bite, however the burger itself was not what I was expecting. The cheese was not melted like I had seen in pictures of the menu. The patty was small and was just alright. Very good hamburgers and I love the Sweet Potato Fries. You get a lot of food for your money and it always tastes very good.

Ordered the Little burger. This does not come in a combo. Fries are separately priced as well as your drink. A little cheese burger will cost you 6.99. Pricy, however on this day I was disappointed that I requested well done. It was not. Burger had pink in it. Though they have a sign that states they cook their burgers well done. I ate it anyways as I was tired & wanted to enjoy my meal without having to have my family wait on me to have my meal redone. The bottom bun is wet. Didn't like that. The food is good. The place is clean & the staff friendly. I did bring it up to the team leaders attention. All He said was ok. Please instruct your cooks for the next dine in experience!! read more

Better than whataburger, but didn't blow my mind. I only selected Five Guys because one locally owned place didn't answer their phone, and the other is closed on Mondays. I had fries, and a small burger with fried onions, mushrooms, and barbecue sauce. The toppings were yummy, and the meat wasn't as greasy as I remember the burgers being at the Alamo Heights location. It'd be nice if they carried other cheeses than just Kraft American. Seems a shame to put fake cheese on top of fresh ingredients. The only time that I eat burgers is when my anemia is dragging me down. They're not my favorite food. This isn't my favorite review. Meh. read more

People say Five Guys is too expensive. At about $20.00 for a cheeseburger fries and a drink it would seem they are right. They are not. You can spend less but it won't be nearly as good. Their standard cheeseburger is a double. The meat is super juicy and delicious. You have endless topping options. They fries are also amazing. A small order of fries is large enough for 2 people. The staff is very hospitable and professional. You will not find this quality at any fast food restaurant. It's worth the money. read more

Ordered dinner tonight, two burgers, fries and a drink. Simple right? Not so I guess. You Screwed up the entire order. Put the wrong toppings on both burgers, I paid for bacon on my bacon cheeseburger but NO BACON. Ordered one Reg and one Cajun seasoned fries. Got two regular, limp, greasy soggy fries. Most of order went into the garbage. Even F-Up the drink -- stuffed that cup with a pound of ice and a shot glass worth of soda. You guys destroyed the FIVE GUYS reputation. I mean ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED FIVE GUYS Food standards. You Single-handily made a mess of this order. Garbage trucks are coming by so I need to stop this review and get this crap to my can. read more

I love five guys! However, this location is terrible for online orders. Did an online order. Thought they did curbside because they want to let them know through the text they send you. Nope. You have to get off and get it from the pickup area. Placed my order and arrived right on the dot. Had to go in and wait another 6 minutes for my order. Idk why they even bothering scheduling a time for pickup if it's not even ready by then! ALSO, fries were less than the cup and were cold. Burgers were delicious and on point. read more

Well, I have to admit that burgers have never been my favorite meal. Still, this place was new to me, so I went with Dad and number one son to try it out. I had sweet tea with my meal. It was some of the best I have had in San Antonio. It was more like the teas served in the Carolinas where they understand that the word sweet implies that it should have LOTS of sugar in it. I ordered a cheeseburger with everything on it, not realizing that they were going to give me two patties with nearly a half pound total weight. It was so tall that I couldn't even begin to bite into with out making a mess of myself due to all the fixings. I did something I have never done before. I ate it one layer at a time with a fork. It was really juicy. I can't tell you how the meat tasted, as I haed too much stuff on the meat to tell. I really liked thier relish. We shared a large order of fries. The guy who took our order wasn't kidding when he told us it would be more than enough. I ate way to many of them, even though they were not my favorite kind. I like a little crispiness. These were soft and mooshy. They were also very brown and had a cooked just at touch too long taste. Dad and number one son did not seem to notice that. Our food was all packed in a huge paper sack, even though we were dining in. The burgers were all tightly wrapped in aluminum foil. I will admit that I am fuddy-duddy enough to have wanted a plate of some kind. I tore the bag away and made a large bowl out of the bottom for the fries. They came in a giant paper cup, but only about one third of them fit in it. The fries filled the bottom of the bag All in all, the meal was just okay for me. Even though I am not a burger fan, I have had better. I have also had worse. I would come back, unless I ended up at Freebirds next door instead. One last thing, they do not have wifi there. Fortunately, Freebirds on one side and The Egg and I on the other both do. You can get on either of them to check in with YELP. read more

1st time at 5 guys and I was presently surprised how good it was. The restaurant is surrounded by established articles from the past decade on how great their food is... and I get why. You walk in to the restaurant and you get greeted with friendly staff welcoming you and a tower of self serving and FREE peanuts. The menu is simple and basic. You pick a burger, cheeseburger, bacon burger. You decide if you want it as a single patty or double patty. Tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, etc is all FREE to add onto your burger! Cool side note- my husband said that the fries are posted where they come from. I guess they get their potatoes from around the country and the store tells you exactly where. Your order (no matter to go or for dining in) is delivered and handed to you in a brown paper bag. Not sure why- but not a deal breaker- just odd. The burger is seriously one of the best burgers I've had. I'm not a burger fan, usually because it never hits the spot. Well, this burger hits the spot! It feels like a burger from a home bbq! Not a frozen patty from a flat top, But a grilled burger! It's a little pricy but good news is that you can share your fries! I will be coming here more often when I'm in a mood for a burger!! Thanks 5 guys! read more

I decided to order a small cheese burger with grilled mushrooms, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, grilled onions, mayo, and a little kick with some jalapenos. We also ordered the Cajun style fries. Our meal was great, and the service was wonderful the staff was super friendly even if we were the last customers to leave. There were cleaning and were still asking if we need anything else.
