First time visiting. SUPER NICE and VERY HELPFUL employees. They gave EVERYONE in the restaurant special attention. They kept checking on people, and were so incredible in explaining the menu to me (and I really hope the owner reads this, as these two fellows were the MOST INCREDIBLE EVER!). These fellows were young, that I ASSUMED they were not the owners . My apologies if they were, but ALL IN ALL, I was extremely impressed with their customer service! Owners OR Employees - what a GREAT place! French fries were nummy! They also gave me a free sample of their Cajun fries (which I was originally afraid to order due to spiciness). How nice of them! They went OUT OF THEIR WAY to help me and make sure I had a "taste" of everything! Literally! They encouraged me to take a serving of their free peanuts (in the shell) which were nicely displayed and offered with clean cardboard trays for personal servings. HATS OFF to this incredible place! This is one of the better locations. I ordered a cheese burger without sauce/mayo or ketchup, but it came with mayo. I really dislike mayo, so I had to address it. They were busy so I spoke with the manager about the mess up. His name was Chris and he was extremely attentive to my concern and addressed it quickly and professionally. He wasn't fake, he was really down to earth and helpful. I really appreciated his approach! I really felt that he was sorry for the mistake and really wanted to fix the issue. He is a good representation of the company, best experience at this restaurant (both this location and Natomas) I've had so far. My new burger was perfect and remade quickly. Well we decided to try Five Guys instead of our regular burger place across the street. It was nothing special. We got a regular cheeseburger, a small burger, one order of fries and one shake for $38.75 and it was just regular American cheese not anything fancy like a cheddar or swiss. Yes, you read that right. I realize hourly wages have gone up, but this was ridiculous. Just not worth it for the money. Tips from a former five guys employee: The food is really all fresh! Freshly prepped in the morning and the bread is always freshly baked. The fries are truly awful. Up there with the worst ive ever had. Theyre soggier than a jimboys taco wrapper but without the delicious flavor of a jimboys taco wrapper. And as a bonus: its a company policy that they will not make your fries crispy! This place is wayyy overpriced. You can get twice the amount of food at in n out ( I worked there as well, their conditions are much more sanitary ), and the fries won't taste like one long mashed potato. My favorite thing on the menu is the grilled cheese because its one slice of American cheese between two upside down hamburger buns and people pay 5 dollars for it. It blows my mind. Dont eat here. Their online and window said they closed at 10pm and we pulled up at 9:10 to find all open signs and store sign off and we sat in our car a minute confused and then we saw two employees cleaning look at us and awkwardly turn the signs back on. My husband and I started going here when we were still dating (ah, the memory lane) so it's been a while that we've been witnessing the works of this fine establishment. We were debating to go to another burger spot or to five guys, keep in mind we haven't been here for a while and i can say that things have definitely changed. First off, the prices definitely got raised because the last time we were here a burger definitely wasn't $10. We weren't greeted, then when we had asked for two milkshakes, proceeded to charge us knowing the machine was down, we got our money back which was great... After waiting a good minute for our food, they completely gave us the wrong burger and they watched us open it, they gave us another but after receiving the right one, they were very rude. Sick! Just found a fried tack in my fries. I called the manaI will never eat there again! We ordered two cheeseburgers and fries. After I finished my burger, i was jazzed about keeping the fries till the end. Second fry, I found a FRIED TACK! It was a disturbing experience, called the manager Tanya, and sent her the photos. Was this an accident ? Or was it intentional? I have 3 kids, I could have easily given the cup to the kids. When I called and shared my concern with the manager she seem to get the gravity of the situation as there are no cork boards around. I did not get a call back or a follow through. I'm a fan of Five Guys for sure! I came here with my sweetie for lunch on New Year's Day after running errands in the area. There was a ton of people inside and only three workers. The guy behind our counter quickly took our order: one bacon hot dog, one cheese dog (with a bunch of toppings), a small Cajun fries and a soft drink. Our meal came out to be $15 and some change. We grabbed some peanuts and sat patiently waiting for our food. It took a while for us to get our food, but it was lunch time and there was a good amount of people waiting before us so we weren't expecting our food to arrive quickly. The hot dogs were really good. The dogs were super juicy, plumped and cooked well. With the bacon and cheese and grilled mushrooms and onions and jalapenos, each bite was almost a perfect bite. The flavor of the fries was good; they had a light Cajun taste to them. The fries were a little soggy for my liking but they were still good overall. I like how they fill the fries in a cup and dump a bunch inside the bag. It's like; oh cool extra goodies in the bag! Service was good and staff was friendly. I heard of Five Guys Burgers from the Food Network and wanted to try them out. Walking in the door the restaurant was pretty plain, red and white decor, nothing special or very appealing about it. The staff were polite and took the time to explain the Five Guys system of ordering for us. The menu is pretty simple, the little burgers consist of 1 patty while the normal burgers are 2 patties. There were a plethora of toppings pretty impressive all for no extra charge..NICE!! I ordered a little cheeseburger with many of the toppings, Cajun fries, and small coke. Cha-Ching $10.00 WOW!! pretty hefty price for a burger meal. Now to the meal... the Burger is OK... the meat taste really fresh, bun is nice doesn't get in the way... basically just an OK burger. The fries were really tasty the Cajun seasoning is really good... I would say they were the best part of the meal. The coke of course was just a coke. Your food is served to you in a paper bag...REALLY !!!! no trays for customers who eat in the store, major fail. Overall it was just OK, and it was not worth the $10.00 price tag. Yeah, I had a bad feeling about this place upon walking in and observing all of the "we are so awesome porn posters" hanging on the wall. Hey, how come none of those posters point out how great you are in more recent years? I have many friends that have pointed out at how great this place is. After eating our burger and fries, this place felt like a mere step above fast food burgers and a step below In and Out. Worst of all, the value for the money was not there at all. $18 paid for two average burgers, large overly salted fries, and two drinks. When I eat a "gourmet burger" from either a Mom and Pop place like Lou's or even a chain like In and Out, I expect it to taste superb. It all needs to flow together in a way. For one thing, it was very mushy. Maybe it was the grilled onions and mushrooms or maybe the produce was too wet. Most gourmet places keep the bun toasted and you get a nice crunch. Also, places like In and Out, make certain to melt the cheese and meat together. As noted before, the fries were overly salty. Each fry had an absurd amount of salt on it. At least in places like In and Out, you can add salt to your taste level. If they weren't so salty, I think I would have been a fan of them. And who charges over $2 for a soda at a casual dining place? Talk about a business trying to squeeze every last cent out of every typical "Hipster Millennial" they can get their hands on. I was so disappointed that every fast food place's "best foot forward" called my name. I think I'll save my money and hit up a Mom and Pop, or heck, even Carl's Jr. across the street. read more

Today was my first time trying Five Guys. I am really impressed. The patty was thick, well done, flavorful and juicy. The condiments were a nice addition, and options were plentiful. I also like that it's wrapped in tinfoil. I don't really think it's comparable to In N Out Burger. In N Out is cheaper and more "fast food" whereas Five Guys is more fast casual restaurant, like Chipotle. I will definitley be back. read more

I have caved to the hype. I just had to try out one of these burger joints. Five guys was recomended to me by a coworker. I take the family a week ago and let's just say NOT IMPRESSED! It takes a lot more than a long list of toppings to make a good burger. The meat was less than McDonalds quality. Thin sad patties that tasted of grease more than meat. I will give them the second star for the fries, those cajun fries are AMAZING! Jack's Urban Eats is right next door..their Urban Fries are to die for, better than the cajun fries any day. Decided to try Five Guys after hearing some good things about it. Let me start with the pros - cool vibe with the peanuts around, fairly friendly staff working, burger was definitely better than many. The not so pro - price! It was much more expensive than I expected. $30 for one adult and two kids (I forgot to order for my fiance but did not realize until we got our food because I thought $30 would cover it). The fries were good being double fried, but the batch we received were really salty - to the point where the kids did not like them. Not sure if this was normal? It was also over $5 for a large and well over 1000 calories - not that I mind at all but a lot by many's standards. It's NOT fast food - everything is made to order and sooooo good! I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and shared a couple of orders of fries - one regular, one Cajun. My BF for a bacon burger and the kids got little burgers. Yeah, the little burgers were the way to go - they don't tell you that a "regular" burger is actually a DOUBLE. Holy cow - so much food! I got mine with tomatoes, grilled onions, pickles, hot sauce & BBQ sauce. Did I mention that all of their toppings are available for you to choose form at NO additional cost? I don't know how many times I have started out with an $8 burger and ended up spending $12 because of all of my extras! The fries were also VERY good, but I would skip the Cajun variety next time. I came to Five Guys for dinner last night and was really happy with my meal. I ordered the little bacon cheeseburger (i'm pretty sure the regular sized one come with two hamburger patties) and added a plethora of toppings; Lettuce, grilled onion, bacon, tomatoes, ketchup, mustard, and jalapeno. It was really good: Just the right amount of food. I also ordered a side of the cajun fries to share. I thought that they were good but probably, as some of the other reviews have mentioned, a little too seasoned and salty. The inside was fairly clean, however, there were spots with peanut shells on the ground and a few tables that hadn't been wiped off. I, personally, am not too much of a stickler for that though so I still enjoyed my meal. I would come back again in the future. **Note: They do not have ranch dressing. I trek here whenever I need a burger fix, I mostly eat very healthy & low-cal options, but every now and then I need some protein. Read some of the other reviews... lets start with the obvious... I grew up in the midwest, and I have never found a burger as good as our "bar burgers" at the pubs in Minnesota. Sad, but true. This kinda resembles that, but its not a half-pound of grass-fed beef that was butchered this morning, so it stumbles on the freshness. That said, good quality, fresh beef is marbled (has some fat in it)... Prime rib does, rib eye steak has a lot of marbling, etc. The people on here griping about the greasiness really just need to stick to the Zimbabwe zebra meat on the $1.00 cheeseburger at McDonalds... higher quality organic beef has some fat in it. I haven't ever seen the "sogginess" that others describe in the bun, they wrap the burger in aluminum foil, which keeps the steam in, so the bun does indeed soften up. It's not grease dripping out, it's moisture from being wrapped in aluminum foil, but that is something the gastro-pubs of the midwest do, its cultural to the midwest and the east coast. This isn't In & Out California cuisine, and I don't get tomatoes that are still frozen on my burger either (like I commonly do at In & Out). I'm sure I'll get some flak on that, but I just don't like In & Out food.. burgers are so-so at best, I don't like the fries, and overall, compared to a 1/2 lb grass-fed fresh hamburger from the midwest, it looks anemic & pathetic. I had one once where the patty was actually so thin, that a hole burned through it on the grill. Back to Five Guys - I don't care for their fries, I'll second that. If we have them, we get a small and split it and its always enough for 2 people. The calorie count on those things is scary, so I don't feel put-out by usually not ordering any... the large is 1200 calories. The fries are fresh, but they are indeed a little over-salted. They use peanut oil to cook them, so they probably don't need any salt at all.. but they shake some on there nonetheless. They have a simple menu, lots of add-ons... and its very fresh ingredients. The price? I think its fine, if you are on a budget, the Little Cheeseburger is just a one-patty version of the standard one (which has 2 patties). It's like, $3.50 or something like that, and about the size of a Big Mac. As someone that cooks a lot, and the midwest grass-fed culture in me prohibits me from buying Walmart-yuck-meat, I only buy the grass-fed organic, and that runs around $7-$8.00 a pound in the grocery store. I was also a business-owner for a decade, and I'm not going to dispute $6 or so for a to 1/2 pound freshly-cooked burger... it easily costs $3.50 in labor and product to make it, the rent is probably $4.00 / square foot / month for the space, the utilities are a couple of thousand a month, and you have to pay the staff and ObamaCare... sorry folks... but the same ones that whine about prices tend to vote for Democrats... higher taxes... and Obamacare... so it comes out in the prices you pay at the pump, so to speak.. Figure $16-$20 for 2 burgers, share a fry (like I recommend) and a couple of drinks. Time? Well, it's cooked to order... not microwaved and then sitting in a plastic tray for the last hour (like McDonald's), and In & Out always takes forever in my opinion.. it takes about as long as it takes to grill a burger... read more

I have read so many great things about Five Guys so I was thrilled when my husband and I happened upon one in Roseville. I really want to say that I loved it. But all I can say is it was ok. I agree with the other posts about it being loud and cramped inside...and I don't get the peanuts. The bun was slightly soggy but overall the burger was ok. The fries were really good though. We also tried the bacon cheese hot dog....also just ok. The good thing about dog was it was slice in half then fried, which is how we prefer our hot dogs cooked. The staff remains friendly but our food has been horrible the past two times we have picked up. They have gotten our orders wrong and the fries have been cold. When we called our options were to drive back to get a refund or go back to pick up the food items that were wrong. We are super disappointed as we loved everything about this place.
