Seattle has a decent selection of burger joints. But we had never tried Five Guys before their new location in Bellevue opened up, right Zach? We are more than happy that it did. Five Guys serves up a pile of meat and potatoes with an emphasis on heft. One should note that a normal burger is 2 patties. This certainly threw us for a loop when we thought the order was wrong. But it was very, very right. And the burgers themselves are quality. Five Guys reminds me of In-n-Out (of which we are big fans, right Zach?) in that the menu selection is very limited, but that just means they do their limited options well. Probably a good business choice as well, Zach. I imagine less waste is generated. But that's an aside. To compliment the burgers are the fries, and the fries are quite good. Big, floppy, and legion. They are well done and well priced, but are noe the only offering available. Freely available are copious amounts of peanuts. This isn't something I would have ever expected, but I am glad that they do this. We are a fan, aren't we Zach? A bit funny that this establishment is closeby to a Subway. Okay, I think I've punished them long enough. I still honestly think the burgers here are just "okay," but I love the Cajun fries. Their portions are HUGE, so I'll give them that. I usually order a little bacon burger (with everything!), and I can never finish it. And they give you a generous extra scoop of fries, so even a regular is too much for two people. I only ate here once at the location, and I thought everything was fine from customizing my burger to actually eating it. All the other times I had burgers from here through my company lunch deliver. Basically, burgers and sandwiches delivered from here are "soggy". It's so soggy it just tastes like I'm eating a bun marinated in sauces with some lukewarm beef patty in between. So no, I don't really like it that much to get delivery order from here. On the plus side, fries are still pretty good and hot dogs are decent thanks to the sausage. But you will definitely feel super fat after eating soggy bun if you are planning to order delivery from here. Overpriced, overly greasy. The air is stiff with grease. It is not appetizing. I can't get over how greasy everything is there. The tables, the chairs, the floors, the counters. I understand burgers are greasy but I feel like the employees don't care for the cleanliness of their store. Red Robin is much better and right around the corner from there. Had a good 1/2 lb burger here this evening. Loaded with tomato, onions, mushrooms, lettuce, and anything else we wanted from their list of freebies. A good, solid, homemade tasting hamburger. And the fries (complete with skins) were awesum. The small order is plenty for two or three. Everything came within minutes of our order. They have a good system. And, fill/re-fill your own sodas. Great burgers!!!! Every once in awhile, I love a good, greasy cheese burger and this is the place to go! YUM!!! The original cheese burger does come with 2 patties- my husband didn't know this and took one of them off- but I ate both of mine! :) The fries were good too...they give a VERY generous portion..3 of us shared a regular and didn't finish it. I hate to have to write some negatives, but it's good to know that this place gets VERY noisy and crowded. Be prepared for A LOT of food. Maybe my palate is not as refined as some, but I love Five Guys' burgers. You choice of a host of toppings including some different sauces. If you order the fries, plan to share; even the smaller order is large. I suggest the cajun seasoning. The decor is nothing fancy, but it is clean. This is a great burger. I like that you can order it dressed as you wish. Essentially any other restaurant will do the same, but instead of asking them to not put this or that on it, you just tell them exactly what you put on it. I ordered the spicy fries. Not spicy enough. Next time I will order fries without any seasoning at all. No seasoning, and no salt. *crosses fingers that is allowed*. They were friendly and helpful. Ok, so I'm completely torn now. I found out where my stellar crew went: they changed shifts! So, here's what I have to say about this place...it depends on the shift crew you encounter. It's maybe 3.5 stars for the crew without Luis. The crew run by Luis is absolutely 5-star. I really think that in the case of this store, it's all about the dynamics of the teams working there. Right now, the amazingly stellar crew with the exceptional service and burgers is on the daytime shift. The night shift is decent enough, barring a couple of bad experiences, but just not stand-out like the other crew. The crew with Luis attached needs to be the par for all 5 Guys restaurants. After entering the restaurant we felt rushed into a decision, but were quick to let them know we needed a moment. The cashier seemed a bit irritated having to wait on us (there was no line, we'd stepped aside) Upon placing MY order she was quick in her assumption that my guest was not ordering food, again we had to slow her down. Reading the menu while placing my order I noticed all of the food is cooked in 100% peanut oil (those with allergies beware!) All burgers are cooked well done, stated on the menu as well. Peanuts are available self serve in the dining room to quell your appetite as you wait for your food. Shell away for those allergy free. Ordered: 1. Large hamburger, mustard, light lettuce, extra pickles, order of regular fries 2. An employee approached our table checking in all the while looking at my phone, (ugh oh I was spotted) spotting my shorthand (he did not check on any other table), he quickly sent out someone to quickly clean all areas, instantly employees were smiling, music was turned down and another employee started checking in on all tables. I've loved 5 Guys since my days going to school in Virginia. Finding a location on the eastside? Gift from God, no less. Okay, be warned that 5 Guys is not the place for the health-conscious diners. If you want a salad or any semblance of healthy food, don't bother entering the doors. 5 Guys is for those of us who want a good, greasy burger served up how we like it. There are so many toppings options, you shouldn't have any difficulty coming up with a burger that is all your own. I took my little brother here, and he loved it. My husband and I discovered Five Guys when we lived in California. We were happy to find that they were opening them in Washington. The one in Redmond being closest to our house, we come here when we need a quick fix on absolutely delicious fries, fresh burgers and very friendly service. Be warned, burgers are on the larger size so order the "little" to start. We are partial to the cajun (seasoned fries). So delicious! Plenty of parking and they are very fast in getting your order out. I recently forgot to order my fries seasoned and when I got my order I asked if I could trade in my non-seasoned fries. Willie (I think that's the guy's name) was quick to say, keep the original order and a new order of cajun fries will be right up! How nice was that?! read more

My better half and I decided that we were craving burgers yesterday, so I suggested Five Guys. We were excited to try the new Redmond location and were literally famished when we walked through the door. We both got the bacon cheeseburger and shared a large fry. I know the fries are ranked as one of the most fattening fries you can get from a restaurant, but we were willing to take the risk. Fries were mediocre, at best. Pretty soggy and chewy. We barely even finished half of the cup. Both of our burgers were soggy, which seemed impossible since we saw them assemble them into the wrapper just minutes before we started eating. Maybe a light toast of the bun would have helped eliminate the soggy buns? I will say though, that I really enjoyed the taste of the beef on the burger. Was cooked just right. The employees were also very friendly, which is a plus. With all the posters on the wall and magazine articles suggesting Five Guys as the prime of the prime when it comes to burgers and fries, I expected more from my visit. read more

Fablous that we now have a Five Guys in Redmond. First things first. Fry's come in three sizes. Small is actually a medium and medium is actually a large. Large is enough for three people. Peanuts are free but they no longer want you to throw them on the floor. We love the place and it certainly is a Five Star burger establishment. Been here twice a week for three weeks now. This place is so easy to get to! Free parking is always good, right in front. The place is clean, bathrooms are clean too. The customer service is always nice. Haven't been to this one before. Prices are pretty outrageous and the food quality was horrible. The fries were not fully cooked. The burger was smashed so hard that it was in pieces. The bacon on the burger tasted *rotten*. Posters all over the walls of the restaurant proclaim how amazing their food is. Went here for the 1st time the other day after my brother constantly telling me about how amazing their burgers are and I have to say it was good but not amazing. The SERVICE however is off the charts AMAZING! I went during a weekday and maybe they just didn't have enough customers but they were super helpful and asked to clean up after us and offered us extra napkins while we were eating. I must say I am impressed for a burger joint. The Cajun fries are delicious and well worth the money especially when you're craving some good fries. The first time here I figured a couple things out that I will share. They tell you up front that all their burgers are double instead of a single like most places, and that if you want a single get the "lil burger". (Ok marketing gimmick) Really unless you plan on skipping dinner or only eating half the burger just go with the Lil burger. There are is so much oil, grease, and fat in the meal you are about to eat a single will be fine. Go with someone else and just order one order of small fries. It seems they fill the cup, drop it in the bag and then throw another scoop of fries in the bag. The result is you have an insane amount that can easily be shared between two people. The fry seasoning is free so go for it. I am so used to being nickeled and dimed that ordered them plain. As you might have noted there seem to be to main ideas here. 1) Cost and 2) Health. As I sat there looking at the menu in line adding up the cost of a burger with cheese and bacon, small fries, etc the brain calculator had an overflow error. It was going to be like 13 bucks...for a burger and fries. Who cares if your normal burger is a double if you charge the price of a double or a triple. So be prepared for some sticker shock if you go. Secondly they conveniently have the calorie counts on the menu so you can add that up while in line too. The burger with bacon and cheese and fries was like 2000 calories. That is the daily allotment of calories for me so I can eat this one double burger and fries and nothing else all day. Also with the "extra" fries they add I am sure their counts are lowballed. So take all that into advisement...but it was really yummy! read more

The thing came with two patties! Didn't see that coming. Ate the whole thing and couldn't stop thinking about how much beef I'd just eaten (still thinking about it.) If you are looking for a quick but delicious burger, you should absolutely try this place. They have a very limited menu (mainly single burgers, double burgers, and hot dogs that you can fully customize), but they know how to get it right. The burgers are very juicy, taste very natural, and get done pretty quickly (maybe 5 minutes). It is a fast food place, but the atmosphere is very similar to a 50s or 60s burger joint. Hot, juicy, fresh, and tasty. That's what these burgers are. And not very expensive, either, due to the simple menu and sparse, industrial decor. We ordered "small" cheeseburgers 'with everything'. Mine was minus pickles, relish, and grilled mushrooms. We both thought the grilled onions were done just right. As were the meat patties. The veggies were nice and fresh. The bun was very light and didn't stand up to the added mess of the grilled mushrooms and condiments. Fries were thick cut and nicely done, somewhere between steak fries and the greasy strings that Dick's serves. Even in a regular order there were lots of them and lots of salt. All-in-all a tasty experience. Dick's might have the edge on price and shake availability. Five Guys gives you topping choices and better fries. read more

Meh. I have had a couple of so-so experiences at this location but I was in the mood for a burger so I decided to give it another try. Their food is okay, but not good enough to justify the price. A "little" cheeseburger and "little" fries for $12. The burger was average and the fries had way too much salt. This is the second time in a row that my order was rung up wrong. Fortunately this time I caught it before the order was prepared incorrectly. It's a really limited menu - how hard is it to take an order correctly? My other complaint is the length of time I had to wait. There were 4 or 5 customers in the restaurant and I waited over 10 minutes. All you're cooking is burgers, and the occasional hotdog....really?? 10 minutes? I won't say that I will never go to Five Guys again, but it will never be my first choice. read more

The first time I went to Five Guys I had the Cajun fries. I love cajun spices, but the Cajun fries did not work for me. This time, I had the Five Guys Style fries and was much happier. The flavor was great, but I would prefer the fries to be more firm. I wouldn't go as far as saying they were soggy, but they were not the best fries I have had as far as texture. I visited again today to give it another try. Last time I visited I was pretty sure I did not want to return. I ordered the lettuce wrapped burger 'all the way'. The burger took forever and then it was burnt. Had to ask for it when I saw it sitting on the counter. No ketchup, no mayo, no mustard. I thought 'all the way' would have something on it, but barely half way. And you guessed it, the lettuce was wilted by then. It just didn't seem like their system for getting orders out was working. They had a table full of buns with the fixings and were putting burgers on, but the wrapper upper and giver outer was busy with fries. The seasoning reminded me of Red Robin's seasoning. The fries were also really soggy. I was expecting some amazingly crunchy fries. The burger was just ok.
