Crimson sandwich
Jinny C.

Clean and bright casual spot for good Nashville hot chicken. I got the crimson sandwich with median level hotness and it was a good level where it was more flavor than spice. I might try one level up for more kick next time, but the sandwich was still tasty. It's pretty salty, so I recommend drizzling some honey to round out the flavors. It says food takes 10-15 minutes but I waited longer because they never called out my order number. I had to go ask and find out it's been ready all along so make sure to stare at the pick up counter instead of relying on the calls

I had seen this place while driving by and knew I had to try it. I got there for a late lunch and the place wasn't very busy. I asked if I could get a smaller portion than their Half Coward, and I was told I could get a Quarter, which would be 3 wings with bread and pickles. I got my wings 'Hot'. I loved the wings, at 'hot' you can feel the spice, I enjoyed the spice. The bread with the wings was a great combo, helps break up the spice but also absorbs it.

Great place to get burgers and Nashville hot fried chicken. I actually like the burger a bit more than the chicken. The seasoning of the chicken could be a little bit better but overall was juicy and fresh. Food took a while, but it's made to order. Overall highly recommend and would come back.

Let me break down the spice levels for you, fellow food adventurers: 1. No Heat (For those who think mayo is spicy) 2. Medium (A gentle wake-up call) 3. Hot (Your tongue will file for divorce) 4. REAPER (Sign a waiver, call your mom, update your will) I ventured into Crimson Coward, where the wall proudly proclaims "fresh never frozen" at least something's fresh here, because my disappointment certainly wasn't. Today's sodium-packed adventure included: THE HOMESTYLE SANDWICH (Medium) Imagine a beautifully buttered, well-toasted bread (the only star of this show) getting absolutely bulldozed by chicken that apparently took a bath in the Dead Sea. The medium heat level tries to whisper "hey, I'm here too!" but gets drowned out by the salt tsunami. It's like watching a beautiful sunset while someone throws salt in your eyes. THE THREE TENDERS (Hot) 1/2 "Feel the burn," they said. Oh, I felt something alright - mostly my sodium levels rising to astronomical heights. The chicken itself? Juicier than the latest celebrity gossip. But why, oh why, must it be saltier than a Twitter thread about pineapple on pizza? It's like they're trying to preserve the chicken for the next century. THE CRIMSON BURRITO (No Heat) A burrito so salty it could make the Pacific Ocean feel insecure. No heat doesn't mean no flavor, but here it means no mercy for your taste buds. The chicken juice running down your arm is basically brine at this point. SIDE NOTE: The fries deserve their own tragic comedy special. Soggy enough to make a Spongebob episode, and oily enough to make OPEC nervous. These fries have given up on life harder than my ex gave up on our relationship. VERDICT: They say you are what you eat, and if that's true, I'm now legally classified as a salt lick. While the chicken's freshness and juiciness show promise, the overwhelming saltiness makes me wonder if their seasoning supplier is actually a salt mine. The crispy dream of the fries died a soggy death, and my taste buds are filing a class-action lawsuit. Pro tip: Bring a gallon of water, your cardiologist's phone number, and lowered expectations. Price: $$$ (Because apparently salt isn't cheap these days) Would I return? Only if I'm trying to cure meat by osmosis.

Full Coward Sandwich Combo

Great, clean restaurant! Fast service, tasty food! Chicken was delicious and cooked perfectly, topped with slaw and pickles that compliments the sandwich nicely. Many options for heat depending on your tolerance, with Country-style being the most mild. If you're feeling indulgent, highly recommend the cheese sauce to dip the seasoned fries in. Overall a nice affordable lunch spot with plenty of seating and parking, and a new personal favorite!

Double snash burger, beware dripping full of grease

Wanted a smash burger and this place was good, fresh off the grill, really hot! And the bun was soft and melt in your mouth with the burger. Great location and easy to find parking: My only complaint is the amount of grease dripping from the burger, you'll definitely need to wash your hands after.

They are serious about Nashville Hot Chicken. This is the first of their Washington locations. If you are into fried chicken - this place is worth checking out. The chicken can get hot - take it for words coming from a brown person. The place is getting a lot of popularity and I had to wait for decent time for my order and also had difficulty finding a spot to sit. A typical fast food ambience - nothing that stands out separately.

First off, we have a new Chicken Sandwich King in town. Crisp, delicious. Fresh. My first outing, I was a bit afraid of the heat ratings even though I like spicy food. So here was my experiment. I first tried the medium. Nice flavor, but I didn't think it was all that hot. Second time, I tried hot. A little more spicy, but nothing I thought was extreme. The third time, I tried Burn, Baby Burn. I suspect I would have been OK, but on this day, my kids told me the medium was already super hot. So I guess expect some variance when choosing the spicy level. The burn baby burn, brought tears to my eyes. I'm guessing this was not normal, based off of the other heat levels I tried, but I probably won't order the top level again. Fries were pretty good. I will say taking it to go, the fries get soft quickly. It's better if you can eat it in the store, or immediately. When I came for lunch, there were only two tables occupied. Dinner time. The restaurant was packed. Standing room only waiting for orders.

Halal food enthusiasts in Seattle have long been asking: Where can we find Halal fried chicken? When will we get a chicken-and-waffle spot? And how about a Halal smashburger on the Eastside? Well, this October, all these questions were finally answered with the opening of Crimson Coward's nation-wide 20+th franchise location in Redmond/Bellevue. The restaurant serves everything Halal, with beef sourced from Thomas Farms and machine-slaughtered chicken. The Crowd: Despite visiting at an off-peak hour (2:45 pm on a weekday), the place was almost full. The Reception: While I was enjoying my meal, a couple approached me to say, "The food was very good." It took me a moment to realize that they had noticed me taking photos (and they understood i am going to review) and wanted to share their spontaneous satisfaction. I also saw two senior citizens, one South Asian and the other likely Middle Eastern, dining solo and savoring their meals--definitely a heartwarming sight. What I Tried: Double Snash Burger: Two 4-ounce beef patties, sautéed onions, pickles, and American cheese on a brioche bun. Tenders: Served with bread, pickles, house sauce, and ranch (medium spice). Wings: Accompanied by the same sides (hot spice level). The Crimson Sandwich: Crispy chicken breast, crimson sauce, slaw, and pickles on a brioche bun. Garlic Twister: Crispy chicken breast, garlic sauce, and pickles wrapped in a pressed tortilla. Crimson Onion Joey Style: Chopped crispy chicken, crimson sauce, and pickles on a whole battered and fried crimson onion. Crimson Waffle: Two tenders on a freshly made waffle, served with honey. My Top Picks: Wings: Extra crunchy, juicy, and the heat level was just right. Tenders: Well-seasoned, tender meat, and great value for the portion. Snash Burger: The beef was juicy with a slight crunch, cheesy, and perfectly spiced. Crimson Onion Joey Style: This was a recommended item, and it did not disappoint. Though it looked messy, it was served in a large box, making it easy to eat. It had that classic American fried food vibe--make sure to enjoy it quickly for maximum crunch. The other items were also enjoyable, although the sandwich could have used a crispier patty. The Garlic Twister reminded me of fusion shawarma; a thinner tortilla would make it even better. The chicken and waffles didn't disappoint--while not the best I've ever had, they were still pretty good. How about the left overs: Had put parts of everything in the fridge and tried them the next day after air-frying. Tried the tenders with home-made indo-chinese fried rice. So good, tenders tasted same as the day before, no gaminess, becmae super crunchy in the air fryer. Wings however picked up a bit of gaminess (makes sense as they are bone-in) Service: The staff were friendly and helpful, though service was a bit slow, likely due to the restaurant's recent opening. They use fresh chicken (never frozen) and special flour that absorbs minimal oil. Spice level: For spice lovers, I recommend trying level 4 if you're used to heat. I had level 3, and it was quite manageable. Overall, Crimson Crown is a long-awaited and exciting addition to Seattle's Halal food scene.

BUUUURN Homestyle
Zack R.

Nice new place and the best spice on the Eastside! The place is clean, not much seating, but a super nice staff. Everyone was pleasant and attentive, with one person (manager?) even coming out to check if I was the one who ordered the BUUUURN and make sure I knew what I was getting into. It was a nice interaction and yes, I knew. They even remade the onion because it didn't come out crisp enough the first time (and I'm glad they did, so tired of soggy bloomin onions from outback, this one was perfect!) I was a little surprised at the chicken shape. The menu shows a thick juicy sandwich, but the ones we got seemed to be almost tenderized flat (pork tenderloin sandwich or 'chicken chop' style). It was still nicely juicy and flavorful but I hope this was just an off batch as I prefer a thicker sandwich. Flavor was on point though, from the toasted bread to the crisp pickles and flavorful slaw, to the chicken itself. The spicy BUUUURN was worth it, I crave that dry rub spice with real flavor that lights up your mouth and lips. I did notice it a lot more on the chicken outside the bun though, once I got to the slaw and sauce it cooled in spice a good amount. The mild was nice and flavorful too (stole a bite from my son) and the fries had a good thickness. They left room for that steamy potato filling that carries the sauce, and are cooked crisp but not hard. I'll be back, but I'm also now encouraged to go try the other Nashville hots westside. As soon as my stomach calms down and cools off that is.

The hubby was craving for smash burgers and Crimson Coward popped up. Never heard of Crimson Coward, but decided to give them a try. My son ordered the half dozen wings and made it a combo with fries and a drink. The hubs and I got the "snash" burger, double - their take on a smash burgers and ordered fried pickles and a drink. The food was really good. Burgers were tasty, juicy and their crimson sauce had just a tiny bit of kick - enough for me to handle. Had a small piece of the chicken, which was tasty, juicy and crispy. Fries had some seasoning on top, which had a little bit of . But all in all - we enjoyed our dinner and plan to come back. Oh! And the fried pickles ! They were really good Have tried fried pickles from other fast food places, but they didn't taste all that good. These did!

Good location, was gonna go to 5 guys and found this to be a good alternative.

Was headed to 5 guys and saw Crimson Coward and make it the choice instead and my Son and I both thought it was a good alternative. Excellent service from the white guy who seemed to be a southerner. The other employees didn't seem to have his hospitality. He was happy and of service which was nice to see. The other employees didn't seem to be as hard working. Being of service is what I like to witness and I would have given a 5 if I saw the other employees give the same type of service. When I needed a to go box, they walked away. The Southerner guy came up and helped me out. He seemed to be running the whole show. The cash register and the breading of the chicken and letting the customers know when the food was ready. The chicken and hamburger were delicious. The restaurant was nicely laid out and clean bathrooms.

4 Tenders - hot

Yesterday was one of those days that I just could NOT decide what I wanted to eat. After scrolling on Yelp, I noticed Crimson Coward had hot chicken AND burgers?? Sold!! We drove about 20-25 minutes from up north to try this and let me tell you, it was worth it. It was quite busy inside when we got there (completely understandable). One of the first things I noticed was restaurant and bathroom were both very clean. They have a kiosk you can order at but that was being used so one of the employees took my order at the register instead of making us wait for it to open up. We ordered 4 Tenders (hot), The Crimson (medium), a Double Snash Burger, and Fried Pickles to go. We only waited maybe 10 minutes until it was ready. We found a place nearby to eat outside and dug in. When I saw everything was delicious, I mean DELICIOUS. The burger was juicy, bun soft, and it had great flavor. The chicken was SO juicy and tender. The hot was pretty hot, the medium was perfect for my husband. The fried pickles don't look the best but they were great, as well as the regular pickles that came with the tenders and on the sandwiches. This was exactly what I needed after being so indecisive. The service was friendly and quick, amazing food, no complaints at all! We can't wait to go back!

Okay, fair. Ordered the celery and carrot sticks only and it was not fresh at all. Carrot pieces were brown and celery sticks were very stringy and you can see from the pic. I can't believe they are serving this to humans. This is definitely my last time here and I'm downgrading to a 1 star. If I could give negative stars I would. FYI also paid for 3 ranch dressings and received only 2.

Now you would think with all this food I would need some napkins, right yeah well I didn't get any. My soda was not filled all the way to the top that sucks especially since it's five dollars for a soda now these days now the four piece tenders I got for free because I spent $25 on a 10 piece combo now I'm gonna say these are really good a lot better than the flats that I got, but I will say even though they are lemon pepper seasoned. They are very, very seasoned with a little bit too much lemon pepper now let's get to the 10 piece flats half of them look like they're premature birds or just don't have meat on them and then the other half look great they taste good both of the orders of meat taste good my carrots and celery were fresh and I receive a large sides of ranch with each meal so yeah, I would definitely suggest ordering from them, but I think they could do a little bit better by checking the quality control before it goes out and also reading and making sure people get what they request like utensils or napkins for sure cause this is definitely a messy meal

It's always busy around mealtimes, but luckily there are plenty of seats, and we rarely have to wait. We also order takeout from here pretty often. For our most recent order, we got two personal combos (main + appetizer + drink) through a Chinese app, which frequently has discounts. I'm a big fan of their takeout containers--they keep the noodles and soup nicely separated. The takeout bag is super sturdy, and the popcorn chicken has just the right amount of spice to really hit the spot. That said, I'd still recommend dining in, because the food is easily about three times better. I also think the portion of popcorn chicken is more generous when you dine in. Plus, if you finish the soup, you'll be very full. My go-to order is the fatty beef tomato soup with rice (I know, I know--it's a noodle place, but I like it better with rice). My husband always gets the original Yunnan rice noodle. We've tried the golden soup version, but it's just not as good. The prices are reasonable... well, reasonable for Bellevue .

The reason I…read morecame back this time was because of recent reviews and social posting saying this is the best rice noodles in all of Seattle hoping that something has changed. I can on New Years eve for lunch and the place was open with no restrictions or any forewarning. But, I have to say that the place was severely understaffed. I think there was one waiter that was helping out the entire store. This was already off to a bad start. I go ahead and order the combo along with a few other stuff from the rest of the group. So the food starts coming out as expected which was good. Then the appetizers got stuck in prep. Which I was like ok that happens it's busy and they might be understaffed. But then I had to ask for the drinks so already it's off to a bad start. The drinks came and felt watered down. So let's talk about the food real quick. Its ok. But after the third time coming I have noticed a decrease in the quality of the paired dishes and the amount you get. Also there was a strong feeling of over teasing with a lack luster flavor profile. So to add the final straw, we were all done and had to wait 15 minutes for the last side dish to come. I tried getting it canceled or get some credit but the chaser said no and so we waited. Could have been much better in all aspect.
