overcooked, you can see the dried out meat has already begun jerky-fication

Literally sexist. I came in and waited to ask about my order. This karen comes up and stands right next to me, then starts inching her way in front of me like I'm not there. The front guy comes up and I take a step forward and ask about my order. He says it'll be 5 minutes. Karen gives me a look but that's it from her. 2 minutes later, the front guy comes out from behind the counter and SCOLDS ME about not being nice to other customers like I'm the one who cut her off? I stood there wondering if I actually was wrong here, but then 3 sets of people come in after that, each asking if I'm in line before walking ahead of me like decent people do. I tell the front guy about all the nice customers that just came in and how it's not right to let people cut others off, and he hits me with the "she's a girl, you can't bully a girl, I'm done with you, take your food and go". So at this location, if you're a girl, feel free to cut people off. If you're a guy, too bad. also the chicken was overcooked X_X

I m giving 2 stars for the nice restaurant setup and welcoming staff. Got the 2 pieces and roll and long story short , the bread was the best thing out of it. 1- i got the spicy and cant feel any spiceness level here 2- portion is small and texture isnt appealing at all 3- drumstick was ok but flavoreless while the thigh was super oily and not taste as well 4- for 10 bucks ( got get you 3 pieces at kfc or somewhere else) I am getting no big portion, super oily and not tasty so i dont see any price quality tradeoff. Will get the 8$ 6 pieces from FredMeyer and honestly it has way better taste. Wont go back again, still in the hunt of the best fried chicken place here

The last time I went to Ezell, they only had two locations, coming back recently there were so many locations all over Seattle and I was little concerned as quality tends to go down as places scale and this brand unfortunately fell victim to it. I got 8 pc chicken and the white meat were kind of dry and rubbery tasting and it felt under seasoned. The dark meat was okay but it wasn't as juicy as I remembered it. It was too bad because I recommended to my local friend who never ate at Ezell and I kind of hyped it up and he was also pretty disappointed and he said his chicken was too salty and not crispy. What a shame though, sometimes staying small is the way to go. This is no longer a spot for fried chicken for me anymore.

The chicken (They through out all their chicken at the end of the night so if you come during closing they might hook you up) :)

The best fried chicken in Seattle! I've been coming to Ezell's for years and it always satisfies my fried chicken craving! I don't know what crack they put in it but I seriously can't get enough of all their food. My favorites being their tenders of course, the spicy breast, BBQ beans, BBQ sauce, and the best sweet potato pie! I can say Ezell's can be hit or miss sometimes the food is more fresh, hot, spicy, or flavorful, but when you hit it while it's good I promise you will be coming back for more. They normally have super quick service though sometimes it can get busy during lunch or when their full with online orders. I normally get takeout but they do have a dining area which you bus yourselves after ordering upfront and them bringing the food to you. If your in the Seattle area or just looking for fixing a chicken craving Ezell's has to be a stop on your list!!!

I have been eating at ezelles for 15+ years and cannot overstate the deliciousness of their chicken. This is my first visit to the new Ezell's in Factoria. I usually get the pound of spicy tenders with BBQ sauce. The tenders are perfectly crisp and not overly spicy. The fresh baked roll is light and fluffy with a slight sweetness to it - a perfect compliment to the tenders.

The chicken is absolutely the best. The value questionable but it's nice to have once in a while. This time, I tried fries as the side order and it was a mistake. The fries was soggy, flavorless and looks raw. Skip the fries.

I put pepper on that potato salad. This was the most beige meal I've ever had.

This was REALLY not good, sadly. Like inedible, and trust me I'm really not that picky. I can get down with just about anything. But when the entire meal basically tastes like heavy cream & mayo, I started to feel queasy eating it. Best way to describe it was that the entire meal tasted beige. The chicken was extremely bland. The potato salad was also very bland. I could taste a bit of onion in it but had to sprinkle on my own pepper which sadly didn't help. It was pretty much straight mayo & potatoes. The blue cheese dip tasted like unseasoned ranch... so like mayo and cream?? The best part of the whole meal was the roll. It had the most dimension, by far. I threw the rest away after this and struggled keeping it down.

Ordered mashed potatoes and gravy...scooped out some potatoes to find the gravy...no gravy or it dried out..disappointed.

Giving 2 stars for the efficiency and friendliness of the staff. They need some quality control. If course I realized this after I left the restaurant. I hope they replace or reimburse me.

I tell my non-Asian friends that they should leave an Asian restaurant if you don't see any Asians inside. I am happy to say we were the odd ducks in this place! Love me some legit soul food. The menu is straightforward. We ordered at the counter. The food is brought to our table. The food took quite a while with big crowds coming in after us. I suspect they cook in batches as multiple groups received food at the same time. It was mostly self-service (utensils, water) until the restaurant quieted down, then we saw servers cleaning tables, etc. The Food: Combo Dinner with two sides, $26 - 5 Stars The combo plat offers two meat choices. I chose the wings and catfish. The wings are sizable and plump. Highly recommend. The catfish was a thinner cut and a bit dryer. I liked the very thin breading on the catfish, not greasy, and it tasted good with Tabasco. For sides, both the collard greens and fried okra are excellent. In fact, I say the okra is perfection! The little corn bread is just right for me. I thought the corn bread has good flavor while hubby said it was too dry. Catfish Dinner with two sides, $24 - 3.5 Stars Hubby complained the catfish was too thin. He's not a Tabasco person, so that doesn't help. I gave him two wings to calm him down. Lol. He loved the hush puppies the best. They are huge with a wonderful crisp. I agree with him! He thought the yams are too sweet; they do look sweet in the liquids but isn't that want yams are intended to be? I think he just needs to order differently in the future. Note they have a 3.5% service charge for credit card purchases. See line on the menu photo.

I haven't eaten many biscuits since moving to Seattle even though I grew up devouring them in the…read moreSouth. It's mostly because I find the large majority of biscuit places on the West Coast to be subpar - either dense and dry inside, or too similar to cake, like the baker substituted cake flour for good old fashioned White Lily. When I saw a bunch of people recommend Seattle Biscuit Company, I decided to give them a try. The first time I visited a biscuit place in the PNW a ton of people recommended, Pine State Biscuits in Portland for reference, I came out extremely disappointed. Hopefully this time would be different. I have to say, pricing is a bit ridiculous here. Just as a comparison point, the special fried chicken biscuit here is $27. The fried chicken biscuit at the place I grew up eating at is currently $5. The plain biscuit is $7 here vs. $1.29 there. Is it worth the price? I started out with a plain biscuit to judge their basic building block: Plain Biscuit ($7) - These are massive biscuits, around half a pound in weight, easily dwarfing the size of 90% of other biscuits. The smell wafting out of the paper wrapper smells heavenly with the aroma butter and flour. The taste reminds me of my childhood growing up in the South. It's distinctively buttery and salty, warm and comforting, almost spot on in taste as compared to say, Bojangles. A lot of places on the West Coast don't add enough salt or butter, making the biscuit taste unpleasantly alkaline. This one has no issues at all in the flavor department. The bake on the biscuit is fantastic, leaving the exterior with a crisp crust all around, while the inside still remains moist and fluffy. It's not particularly layered or flaky, and the interior, while fluffy, has a bit more developed gluten, making it just slightly chewy and slightly denser than perfection. When trying to split by hand, it doesn't split cleanly and instead chunks, especially in the center. Yet it's moist and doesn't crumble apart easily. These biscuits stand on their own and don't need any accompaniment to be enjoyed. Out of all the biscuits I've eaten on the West Coast so far (15+ places), this one tastes the most like a good Southern biscuit. (5/5) I was impressed enough with the biscuit that I revisited the week afterwards to try a sandwich: Gus ($27) - This sandwich seems very expensive until the plate comes out. In between the giant biscuit comes two pieces of fried chicken breast (or perhaps one piece filleted into two). It's breaded and fried generally well - the outside is definitely crisp, although it doesn't adhere that well to the chicken and slides off very readily. The interior of the chicken is nice. I usually expect chicken breast to be dry, but this one is relatively moist, not dried out at all. The breading tastes sweet and salty. I wonder if they brine the chicken in sweet tea. Each side of the biscuit is slathered with a bit of sweet mustard and peppered with pickle slices, giving some acidity to cut through the sausage gravy fat. Between the pickles and the sweet breading, it reminds me of the flavor of a Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich. The sandwich is served on a bed of orange-colored sausage gravy. It's thick and rich, although perhaps a little on the floury side. There's plenty of sausage mixed in, giving a ton of meaty depth combined with black pepper and spices. In terms of portion size, my wife and I shared this sandwich and we had trouble finishing it. It's definitely enough for two people, which makes the pricing a little more palatable. (5/5) Sweet Tea ($5) - This one is definitely on the sweeter side compared to what I make at home. The tea doesn't have much astringency but it does have a nice generic black tea flavor. There aren't that many places in Seattle to get sweet tea, so I'd say it's passable. I did purchase additional plain biscuits as well and I have to say texture-wise, they are similar, but these new ones tasted distinctively less buttery than before. I think there might be some consistency issues although this second batch is still really good. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the biscuits served at Seattle Biscuit Kitchen. I will definitely be revisiting in the future for more. Bathrooms - Two unisex rooms.

The portion was huge and enough to feed two people. I only managed to eat half, and it kept me full for about eight hours. This is definitely a heavy and hearty meal. As for the taste, it was delicious and very savory. The biscuit was soft, and the bacon bits added a nice crispy texture. My only complaint is that I wish there had been more gravy. I also didn't really taste any sausage in the gravy. I was expecting more of a traditional Southern-style sausage gravy, but the flavor was a bit different from what I'm used to. This is more of a take out spot, as there isn't any indoor dining. Fortunately, it's located near the Pike's Marketplace, so I recommend taking your food for a walk toward the waterfront and finding a nice place to enjoy your meal. This restaurant location has been in operation for 11 years, a dream of retired NBA and local Rainier Beach native Nate Robinson, the restaurant originally was "Nate's Wings and Waffles" to provide memorable comfort food to a diverse community. The name has changed to reflect the current ownership and operation by Nate's sister Chelle and boyfriend Drae. I was drawn to the restaurant because I was looking for a traditional breakfast spot, but was challenged to find one in the area. Drae's Lake Route exceeded my expectations. It was clear that this is a destination for locals and by the steady flow of patrons this is the place to be. Good food made to order, dine-in or take out, plus choices of alcoholic or non-alcoholic speciality drinks to round out your meal. I chose the Deluxe breakfast, which comes with 3 meats (choice of bacon, pork link sausage and turkey sausage). I chose 2 thick sliced bacon strips and 1 pork link with 3 eggs over medium and (choice of cubed potatoes or grits) I chose the cubed potatoes with a buttered English muffin. My breakfast was satisfying and the refills of coffee hit the spot. I stayed long enough conversing with local patrons to transition to lunch and chose 1 pound of naked chicken wings, tossed in habernaro-pineapple sauce. My wings were cooked to perfection and the sauce provided just enough spice to liven my tastebuds. The next day I made a return visit for breakfast and lunch. For breakfast I chose Ava's fish and grits plus buttered wheat toast 2 eggs over easy for breakfast plus coffee. As a son of the Southern United States, grits are a staple. My grits were cooked to perfection with a dollop of butter. I just added salt and pepper to taste. My catfish fillet was corn meal battered and was nicely seasoned. I later ordered the pork chop sandwich for lunch dressed (no mayonnaise), which comes with a choice of fries or kale salad. I chose fries. My bone-in pork chop was lightly breaded and fried on sliced white bread, old school! The sandwich took me back to my childhood, goodness like grandmother cooked, magnifique! My service over these 2 days has been fantastic. Chelle handles the front of the house and Drae handles the back of the house for a winning combination. Chelle manages the dining room with patience and top notch customer service, even calling customers by name. She is the epitome of a professional, even under pressure with numerous orders coming in near closing. Drae is friendly and an accomplished cook and car enthusiast, as seen by the decor in the restaurant. There is always a comforting tune playing and the venue has scheduled events featuring local musicians performing at their building next door. It is obvious the there is a lot going on at Drae's Lake Route. Check it out when in the South Seattle area. You won't be disappointed.

Have heard lots of good reviews from this spot and finally got to try it out!…read more You order at the counter and then your food gets brought to you. Service was very friendly! They had a good flow of traffic throughout the entire time we were there. They have two picnic tables outside of the restaurant for outdoor seating and a handful of tables inside. We had the salmon Philly, fish & grits, and a side order of the waffle. - The salmon Philly was flavorful and the cheese pull was elite. We chose the fries as our side and they were cooked well. - I loved the size of the waffle! It was on the thinner side though so definitely don't put all the syrup on it unless you like it soggier since it soaks up pretty well. - I loved the combination of the catfish and grits because they balanced each other out well. The catfish was cooked to perfection, but I wouldn't eat it on its own since it's pretty salty, so you gotta eat it with the grits for each bite.
