overcooked, you can see the dried out meat has already begun jerky-fication

Literally sexist. I came in and waited to ask about my order. This karen comes up and stands right next to me, then starts inching her way in front of me like I'm not there. The front guy comes up and I take a step forward and ask about my order. He says it'll be 5 minutes. Karen gives me a look but that's it from her. 2 minutes later, the front guy comes out from behind the counter and SCOLDS ME about not being nice to other customers like I'm the one who cut her off? I stood there wondering if I actually was wrong here, but then 3 sets of people come in after that, each asking if I'm in line before walking ahead of me like decent people do. I tell the front guy about all the nice customers that just came in and how it's not right to let people cut others off, and he hits me with the "she's a girl, you can't bully a girl, I'm done with you, take your food and go". So at this location, if you're a girl, feel free to cut people off. If you're a guy, too bad. also the chicken was overcooked X_X

I m giving 2 stars for the nice restaurant setup and welcoming staff. Got the 2 pieces and roll and long story short , the bread was the best thing out of it. 1- i got the spicy and cant feel any spiceness level here 2- portion is small and texture isnt appealing at all 3- drumstick was ok but flavoreless while the thigh was super oily and not taste as well 4- for 10 bucks ( got get you 3 pieces at kfc or somewhere else) I am getting no big portion, super oily and not tasty so i dont see any price quality tradeoff. Will get the 8$ 6 pieces from FredMeyer and honestly it has way better taste. Wont go back again, still in the hunt of the best fried chicken place here

The last time I went to Ezell, they only had two locations, coming back recently there were so many locations all over Seattle and I was little concerned as quality tends to go down as places scale and this brand unfortunately fell victim to it. I got 8 pc chicken and the white meat were kind of dry and rubbery tasting and it felt under seasoned. The dark meat was okay but it wasn't as juicy as I remembered it. It was too bad because I recommended to my local friend who never ate at Ezell and I kind of hyped it up and he was also pretty disappointed and he said his chicken was too salty and not crispy. What a shame though, sometimes staying small is the way to go. This is no longer a spot for fried chicken for me anymore.

The chicken (They through out all their chicken at the end of the night so if you come during closing they might hook you up) :)

The best fried chicken in Seattle! I've been coming to Ezell's for years and it always satisfies my fried chicken craving! I don't know what crack they put in it but I seriously can't get enough of all their food. My favorites being their tenders of course, the spicy breast, BBQ beans, BBQ sauce, and the best sweet potato pie! I can say Ezell's can be hit or miss sometimes the food is more fresh, hot, spicy, or flavorful, but when you hit it while it's good I promise you will be coming back for more. They normally have super quick service though sometimes it can get busy during lunch or when their full with online orders. I normally get takeout but they do have a dining area which you bus yourselves after ordering upfront and them bringing the food to you. If your in the Seattle area or just looking for fixing a chicken craving Ezell's has to be a stop on your list!!!

    1 pound spicy chicken tenders

I have been eating at ezelles for 15+ years and cannot overstate the deliciousness of their chicken. This is my first visit to the new Ezell's in Factoria. I usually get the pound of spicy tenders with BBQ sauce. The tenders are perfectly crisp and not overly spicy. The fresh baked roll is light and fluffy with a slight sweetness to it - a perfect compliment to the tenders.

The chicken is absolutely the best. The value questionable but it's nice to have once in a while. This time, I tried fries as the side order and it was a mistake. The fries was soggy, flavorless and looks raw. Skip the fries.

I put pepper on that potato salad. This was the most beige meal I've ever had.

This was REALLY not good, sadly. Like inedible, and trust me I'm really not that picky. I can get down with just about anything. But when the entire meal basically tastes like heavy cream & mayo, I started to feel queasy eating it. Best way to describe it was that the entire meal tasted beige. The chicken was extremely bland. The potato salad was also very bland. I could taste a bit of onion in it but had to sprinkle on my own pepper which sadly didn't help. It was pretty much straight mayo & potatoes. The blue cheese dip tasted like unseasoned ranch... so like mayo and cream?? The best part of the whole meal was the roll. It had the most dimension, by far. I threw the rest away after this and struggled keeping it down.

Ordered mashed potatoes and gravy...scooped out some potatoes to find the gravy...no gravy or it dried out..disappointed.

Giving 2 stars for the efficiency and friendliness of the staff. They need some quality control. If course I realized this after I left the restaurant. I hope they replace or reimburse me.

All were delicious but my favorite was the stone pot rice. Second time I ordered here, I got garlic chicken wings and fries. Loved it! The wings and fries tasted so fresh. Super crispy and juicy, flavorful. And they were super generous with the fries. There were tons and so yummy - crispy on the outside and soft and hot on the inside. Service is good too. First time, they didn't secure the lid to the bowl of congee and it arrived all over the poor uber driver's car and in the delivery bag. Second time, they served us burnt congee that reeked of chemicals and had little burnt bits in it. Then this time, the congee is absolutely tasteless and they gave us the wrong soy sauce for the shrimp rice rolls. Shrimp rice rolls usually come with a sweet soy sauce, but they always pack you a whole sauce container of regular soy sauce that you won't realize until you pour it over the rice rolls. Sure they might be more reliable if you're dining there; but please don't even bother ordering take out or delivery. It's funny because every time i order congee, it's because I'm so severely hungover and sick and am so desperate for some comfort food. And every time without fail, they make the situation worst some how lol. Also every time we do call in to complain it always sounds like a teen kid that's working and is not helpful at all. Ugh.

We went on a Friday around 6PM and had a 10 minute wait to get seated - the place itself is busy and by the time our name was called, there was a crowd of 10-15 people gathering in the waiting area. There is plenty of parking for the restaurant as it is located in a strip mall. Even though we went during a peak hour, the flow of traffic in and out of the mall was constant - fortunately leaving convenient spots open as soon as you pull in. Ambiance is nice, there are plenty of Chinese decorations, and there are tables and chairs in the style of rural China. If you don't want to order the big pot - they will bring you to a table where the pot is closed with a lid. Ordering is done through their QR code menu, and the servers will come by afterwards to double check your order before sending it to the kitchen. Do note, if you want to order the big iron pot, it takes about 20 minutes to prepare and heat up. I would budge about 30 minutes before your main entree is ready. We ordered the pig ear salad and beef brisket iron pot with flower rolls (花卷): Pig Ear Salad ($14) - Salad tasted pretty solid! The pig ear was crunchy and was thoroughly coated in the classic chili oil vinegar sauce. The taste was fragrant, and not too spicy - I would say people with a mild to moderate spice tolerance would really enjoy this dish. The cucumbers served as another crunch factor, but also as a refresh/palate cleanse. For the amount of salad you get, I think the price is fine. Beef Brisket Iron Pot ($65) - When the server brings this out, they will prepare the buns and stick them to the sides of the pot to also cook and heat up, and then start a 20 minute timer to heat your food up. Once the timer is done, you can dig in! The sauce/broth in the pot is delicious - I would describe it as minestrone with Chinese ingredients, it tastes like there is a tomatey base, but I think it is more attributed to peppers. It coats each each in the pot nicely so you get a flavorful bite each time. The brisket was very tender and just falls apart as you eat it, and everything is delicious with the buns. For everything you see here, it was able to comfortable feed 3 people - maybe even 4. It does lean pricier per person, but the experience is novel and you do get a decent amount of food. In comparison to the other Chinese food in the Bel red area, I'm happy Dongbei harvest opened as it gives more variety to the typical Chinese offerings in the area. I think I would revisit again if I'm ever in the mood for some Dongbei food!

It's as though you were eating the outdoors. The owner met with us and gave us a history of the place, followed by his chef's cuisine philosophy. Just a really pleasant conversation. My only personal gripe is that some of the elevated presentations of the cuisine itself did not meld well with some of the rustic dishes; I think their presentation should appear slightly more 'nouvelle cuisine française' and less road-side diner in some dishes. Overall however, R Christine reminds me of the wonderful little hidden locovore spots throughout France that oftentime prove to be borderline Michelin star operations. There's probably about 10 tables total, so it's definitely a tight space, but luckily a table opened up right as we walked in. They do have a waitlist, except we were seated right away. We got some waters, which was nice, and wanted to try their fruit teas, so I got a lychee green tea and my friend got their passionfruit green tea. Both were honestly horrible. They tasted like run-down sink water mixed with whatever syrup they use. It was really awful. I thought maybe it was a sugar-level issue, so we politely asked if they could readjust it, but it came back tasting the exact same. I'm very thankful the service was super nice and they removed it from our bill, but I would not recommend any of their fruit drinks at all. For the hot pot, though, it was a completely different story. We ended up getting the rose milky and I got a beef soup, and both were a 10 out of 10. Amazing flavor, great quality, and so much meat, it was incredible. Each hot pot also sits over a small fire, so your food stays hot the entire time, and the staff can turn it off or on whenever you need, which I really loved. The meal also comes with your choice of rice or vermicelli, which is a clear noodle. Overall, the experience was really great. I would definitely come back to Boiling Point. In the heart of Seattle's historic Black Americans Central District sits Simply Soulful, a black-…read moreand woman- owned restaurant. I tell my non-Asian friends that they should leave an Asian restaurant if you don't see any Asians inside. I am happy to say we were the odd ducks in this place! Love me some legit soul food. The menu is straightforward. We ordered at the counter. The food is brought to our table. The food took quite a while with big crowds coming in after us. I suspect they cook in batches as multiple groups received food at the same time. It was mostly self-service (utensils, water) until the restaurant quieted down, then we saw servers cleaning tables, etc. The Food: Combo Dinner with two sides, $26 - 5 Stars The combo plat offers two meat choices. I chose the wings and catfish. The wings are sizable and plump. Highly recommend. The catfish was a thinner cut and a bit dryer. I liked the very thin breading on the catfish, not greasy, and it tasted good with Tabasco. For sides, both the collard greens and fried okra are excellent. In fact, I say the okra is perfection! The little corn bread is just right for me. I thought the corn bread has good flavor while hubby said it was too dry. Catfish Dinner with two sides, $24 - 3.5 Stars Hubby complained the catfish was too thin. He's not a Tabasco person, so that doesn't help. I gave him two wings to calm him down. Lol. He loved the hush puppies the best. They are huge with a wonderful crisp. I agree with him! He thought the yams are too sweet; they do look sweet in the liquids but isn't that want yams are intended to be? I think he just needs to order differently in the future. Note they have a 3.5% service charge for credit card purchases. See line on the menu photo.
