This location's crew is personable, but incompetent when it comes to making burgers that are on par with the FiveGuys that I'm accustomed to. For $13.29, I could've had a gourmet burger (or two) anywhere in Dallas. What I received was a soggy mess drowning in toppings and condiments. There are some things I just don't understand. Why would you work at a restaurant, use the restroom, and not wash your hands before returning to work? But they do that here or at least one of them does. Why would you keep a restaurant in Texas in the summertime above 80 degrees? But they do that here. Why would you serve a hot dog on a hamburger bun? But they do that here too and it wasn't even as good as it looks. Why would you serve limp soggy French fries? They do that here also. Going, going, gone down hill... I was so excited when this place opened, having been a huge fan during travels. We ate here quite often when it opened. The last three times we've been, twice they literally seemed to forget I'd arrived (online order, pickup in advance) and this last time, the $6 big fry was barely two servings (remember they used to overfill the cup with copious fries in the bag? Not any more, you get a cup.) I do love the flavor of the food, but I'm tired of making excuses to my family for crappy service, and this last time spending $48 for four burgers, fries, and two kids left wanting more?! A bunch of people had told me to try Five Guys and I hadn't been wowed by their endorsement, however, we were in the area and decided a burger sounded good so we ended up here. First off, the ambiance is a little lack luster, it's like a steak n' shake but they didn't really take as much time to finish out the whole decor. It's got the red and white motif going on. So we order our hamburgers. The first question, I'm sure from each Five Guys noob is "what's the difference between a little hamburger and a hamburger?" The difference is one patty. The second question I'm sure they get, "How big is the patty?" It's 3.2 oz. That's 1/5 of a pound. I guess it's nicer to have a choice of a smaller burger and be able to get a bigger one if you want. It just seems SO small. As some other people have mentioned, if you get a hamburger (that's with two patties), you will inevitably get two overcooked patties rather than combining the two for one properly cooked patty. Because I had a late lunch and I was about to go work out, I chose the nothing burger, I mean, little burger. I got everything a normal hamburger comes with, lettuce, tomato, pickle, sauteed onions and ketchup. Of course, I was informed that they had run out of pickles. *sigh*. I did get a small fries. The Wife also got a little burger. Then the wait. It was a long time. A lot longer than I expected. Of course when they called our number, the guy still took another minute to get our food all bagged up. Just call our number when you're done, not almost done. So the burger was alright, nothing particularly special about it. The one thing that stood out was that the sauteed onions were just oily onions. There was nothing really sauteed about them. They had just been kissed by the grill and then put on my burger. They essentially were just raw onions. You may as well not even offer this choice, if they get served like that. Especially since it took so long for our food to get served. No excuse. The fries, were actually the highlight of our visit. They are fresh cut and they're normal sized fries, meaning not shoestring and not steak cut. They were probably the best fresh cut fries I've ever had. And the small, came with a huge amount of fries included. I would have said they were a large fries, had it been another place. 1/3 of the fries wouldn't even fit in the cup they came in. Just tossed in the bag with everything else. They have that touch screen drink dispenser that gives you ever flavor of every drink it dispenses so you can get cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper if you want. That's a plus, I guess. So, there are definitely better places out there. Probably wouldn't come here again. read more

Seems like every time I talk to someone about great hamburgers (which happens literally all the time, at least a few times a day, trust me) they always mention Five Guys. But why Five Guys? I asked myself this same question after eating there for the first time earlier this week. Maybe it's just me, but doesn't Mooyah sport basically the same concept with better food for cheaper? Maybe it's just me, maybe I'm the crazy one, but I just don't get the hype. Or maybe Five Guys just isn't that good. My burger was surprisingly tasteless for using all those fresh ingredients. Not a juicy bite in the whole thing, which should happen at least once considering the two patties. The bun was straight out of a pack of Ms Baird's. It wasn't awful, but I'd rather have a Whopper and save the extra $5. Now the fries are something to write home about. I don't know how they do it, but each one is a little crispy on the outside, a little mushy on the inside and salted to perfection. You can taste the freshly cut potato in every bite. The only problem is that even if you order the small portion they give you enough to feed a small family. Getting the large portion is right out. Throwing your money straight into the trash would be less wasteful. Five Guys is the epitome of the 3 star establishment - I wouldn't sit it out if a bunch of my friends were already going, but I wouldn't ever go on my own account. At least now whenever someone brings up Five Guys I can say I've been there before suggesting somewhere else. read more

My visit to this place was, in a word, OK. It was freezing when we walked in. I had to return to my car in order to get a jacket to wear. My bf and I ordered our food and sat down to wait. I will agree with Nichole...the place was really loud. The music was loud, the cooks were shouting things to one another, and the guy calling out people's order numbers was so loud, he was downright distracting. My burger was well-cooked and tasted good, but I was kind of disappointed that all you could get cheese-wise was American. At least Mooyah gives you a choice of Swiss or Cheddar, along with American. The fries were good, but not fantastic. We paid $17 for a junior burger, a regular burger, two drinks, and one order of regular fries. For less money, I can go to Whataburger and get two combo meals with fries, and the burgers are just as good, if not better. I don't really understand the hype behind this place. We have been here a few times but it had been several months so decided to run in for quick lunch. My husband and I each ordered the "little " burger, shared sm order of fries, and each had small drink. The bill was over $24 which I think is too steep. The burgers are good but there are several burger places around that are just as good and nowhere as expensive. Fries are plentiful but who really eats that many? Occasionally I'm in the mood for five guys instead of In N Out...not often but occasionally. This location does not do cheese fries when a lot of five guys will. The fries here seem to be hit or miss...sometimes I'll get the charred little tiny pieces at the end of the batch which is kind of bogus. Make a new batch of fries if you've got one more customer than the last batch would have provided. It also annoys me that they keep one door locked without a "use that door" sign and I never remember which one it is. I recommend the hot dogs here if you haven't had them. They're pretty great. Also always remember to order a LIttle Hamburger. I'll never understand why five guys insists on calling their double patty burger a "regular hamburger". They serve coke products including coke zero, dr pepper and barqs. In N Out has better Dr Pepper. read more

Finally went to this location. I have been a big fan of Five Guys ever since I first tried it in Washington D.C. The burgers are simple but the ingredients they use are really fresh. Kind of like an In-N-Out (my favorite), but just greasier... which is not a bad thing. I love the fries here, especially with the cajun seasoning. Note (or beware, for some people) that they use fresh potatoes for the fries, not frozen. The fries will not be as crunchy as your local McD's fries since they are fresh, but I think the taste is far superior. Love how they always pour a little extra fries in the bag. The burger here is the real star. I had a bacon cheeseburger and the bacon was actually crisp, not the limp fascimile you usually get at a 'fast-food' place. The veggies are fresh and crisp. The fries are very good, just crisp enough on the outside and soft on the inside, fully cooked. The regular should be enough for anyone, as they place your burger and fries in a bag, then scoop extra fries on top. There are shelled peanuts to munch on while you wait. My one complaint is the drinks. The ice tastes nasty, dirty. The fountain drinks have the same dirty taste. Is it the local drinking water? I had the same experience at Love and War in Texas up the road on 75. I tried the Barq's rootbeer, Cherry Coke, and Powerade, all have the aftertaste. I will bring my own bottled water next time I visit. I don't understand the noise complaints. Do you think you're at the library? Where can you go these days without some noise? I would've given Five Guys 3 stars because it's a pretty good burger, and the fries were true greatness. But I've got a problem with a place that, at the end of the day, seems like it's trying too hard to create atmosphere with bits (and charging proudly for it) instead of just cranking out great burgers at a good price. Case in point: When you order your burger, the cashier turns around and barks it back to the grill. It's distracting and unnecessary. The whole time you're waiting for your meal, the folks behind the counter hoot and holler and call out numbers and generally make a ruckus. Again, it's just a bit, and totally not needed. This is not a place to go if you want a quick slice of peace and quiet on your lunch hour. Maybe I'm just getting old. OH, and WTF is with the free peanuts??? Maybe it's their way of "adding value" and "standing out," but it makes zero sense to me - and probably justifies their padded pricing. I keep coming back to that, don't I? But enough about the place... how's the food? Well, as mentioned, the burgers are perfectly serviceable. The standard burger comes with double meat, and stuff like grilled mushrooms and onions are free - so that would seem like a good deal. Right? Well, hold on there pal. My bare-bones order of a standard cheeseburger and a large tea came to a whopping $8 - and that's sans fries! Yikes... Luckily, my lunchmate got fries so I was able to steal them by the handful. And they are fantastic! Perfectly crisp on the outside, nice and meaty on the inside. They advertise fresh-cut and I don't doubt this one bit. However, I'm still left wondering about their proud pricing. Go ahead, call me a cheap bastard, but in terms of sheer value, Five Guys is a loser. Will I go back? If I'm stuck at the office and looking for a quick burger, probably. Can you do better? Heck yeah. Had a bad take out experience here once before but thought we'd give it another try. Well it was a mistake. Our first order was take out and when we got home the order was all wrong, I mean not even close. The second time we visited here we decided to dine in. Our receipt says we ordered at 1:37 pm, it was a Sunday and not very busy at all, there was no one in line when we walked in. Well we finally got our order at 2:16! Thats 39 minutes for "fast food" and of course the order was wrong. One of the burgers had cheese when it wasn't supposed to and we asked for grilled onions and got regular. I ordered online for pickup and got a little hamburger with lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, grilled mushroom, and ketchup with little Cajun fries. I was initially extremely excited for the food because the employee gave me a large Cajun fries instead of a small for having to wait some, so I hurried on home. After opening the bag I found the fries to be so over seasoned that I could not eat them. The grilled mushrooms were dry and crunchy and the grilled onions were basically still. five guys is pretty flippin sweet! You get your choice of burger or switch it up and get a dog. The fries are made in house and a regular sized order is enough to keep me and my hunny happy. I usually go with the junior cheeseburger (1 patty) and he goes with the standard bacon cheeseburger (2 patties). Did I mention that all other toppings are included with your burger allowing you to design your own frankenburger. This was an incredibly lackluster experience for me. After eating there, I don't get the appeal of Five Guys in the least. We both ordered a small cheeseburger and an order of fries. I only added fresh jalapeno slices to mine (not a fan of veggies on burgers... I'm weird like that), and DH added quite a few options though they were out of pickles today. I unwrapped my burger to find exactly what I would expect when I unwrap a McDonald's burger wrapper: smushed sesame seed bun, super thin patty, and a thick slice of melted processed cheese. The taste was also extremely similar to me, though the fresh jalapenos were great. Did I really just pay $6.50 for a burger that would have cost me $1 at McDonalds and tastes almost identical? Apparently I did. Fries were meh - too thick for my personal taste and not enough flavor for me. Service is good and food comes out hot, but I just can't imagine ever paying these high prices again for the food they sell here. Yeah, I don't know. Five Guys seems to have a devoted following, and I will say without hesitation that their burgers are as good as anywhere, and better than most. If I were rating the burger alone, it would be five stars, easily. It's also not a cheap burger, and the available toppings aren't particularly exciting. You can have any kind of cheese you want, so long as it's American. The fries aren't bad, but they're not anything crazy, either. And if you'd like a shake with your burger, I hope you brought one in with you. And no wifi, which probably only bothers me.
