Hello, went on a Sunday, busy yes ! The hamburgers are really something, apparently people like em - I do. BUT, you really have to look beyond the FILTH on the floors AND DIRTY tables, and the lack of enthusiasm of all the employees and the overall look of the place. LIKE NOBODY CARES. It's been like this since they first opened. It's beyond me how this place passes a health department inspection. It's should be shut down, cleaned everywhere, and start with all new employees. No one working here would last a day at In/Out or Habit, those two places are clean and have employees who care. read more

I submitted an order online, it said 5-10 minutes until my order was ready, I got to the store a full TWENTY minutes after I ordered to find THREE people working, mind you it was 1 o'clock in the afternoon, I was told it was going to be another TEN minutes until my food was ready...what's the point on online ordering if it still isn't ready when you arrive? I wasted my ENTIRE lunch break there nonetheless to get back to work and my burger was WRONG. I reviewed my receipt and it was correct, bacon cheeseburger, lettuce and mayo. they gave me a DOUBLE cheeseburger with TONS of onions and no lettuce!!!!!!!!!! is it really that hard to make a burger that has it written down right in front of you what the person wants on it? such a simple burger was TRASHED. the employees are also very rude and not helpful. read more

Love the food, love be the serve, the music playing was so god dammed loud we Could hardly give or hear our order. One more suggestion I would put the small burger is on the left-hand side I wouldn't of ordered a double meat burger eight dollars away small one should be on the left we read from left to right. Five guys has to be one of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten at. To start off with the food is stored in front of the register like a feed an tackle store. The prices rival amusement park costs. $2.69 for a small kids soda, really? The total bill for two burgers frys and sodas came to $25.00. The cook line was a complete mess with garbage and old frys littering the prep tables and the floor was covered. They were out of ketchup, napkins and the soda machines out of syrup. The burgers, a wet mess of poor ingredients. If there are five guys, one of them should check in their restaurant and cleaning up. Can't believe this place is in business! The burger buns become soggy because they're wrapped in tin foil which keeps the steam in and disintegrates the bun into a soggy mess. Employees are lazy and lack any integrity in keeping the restaurant as a whole clean. Filthy floors, tables and countertops. Employee with the long hair needs a lesson on wearing his pants. They're showing his underwear as they're falling down past his bottom. This place is disgusting. I can't believe it hasn't closed. Owners need a serious wake-up call. The fries weren't even close to being cooked. They were the soggiest fries I've ever had. I guess the burgers were good. The milkshake was ok. I wouldn't say it is worth five dollars. If you could go to in-n-out instead, go to them. It is really dirty inside, as someone said. For a place with that many staff at hand, one or two could sweep around. Five Guys seems to be the East Coast response to Southern California's legendary In n Out Burgers. For the moment (while I wouldn't advise In N Out to let down their guard) I don't feel the threat is going to be that acute, even considering the latter's achille's heel: Limp french fries. Given that In N Out is famous for not owning any freezers, Five Guys shot themselves in the foot by insisting that all their burgers are cooked Well Done, which is Corporate America's way of expressing their lack of faith in the quality of their meat. Having said that, I'm surprised at all the low-star reviews this place is getting. Too expensive? Compared to what? At just over $6.00 for a double, their prices are right in line with other similar small chain efforts. Slow? We were there at lunch time and it took about as long as you'd expect for a fresh-cooked burger to be made and assembled, I've certainly waited longer amidst the crowds at In N Out. I don't like their terminology---any more than I like Starbucks: A "Little" burger is one patty, while their regular burgers are two, a double double so to speak. I went with the regular and the extra beef patty, well done, does not add anything but calories to the experience, so I'd recommend two of the "little" burgers over one regular, with two patties. Cooking these patties Well bumps the taste down to Micky D's and Burger K. But they still taste better. Again, though, a "Little" burger isn't kiddy portions, it's one patty instead of two. Someone else criticized the fries. Really? I thought the fries were the one solid winner on the burger menu. I would give them stellar marks compared to any fry, anywhere, except perhaps the old Micky D fries, done in beef fat. Even if you don't compare it to the limp fries at In N Out (and Elevation Burger, which isn't yet in California) these fries are fantastic, I even prefer them to the fries at Smash Burger, which at the moment, is my favorite burger chain. And... It certainly doesn't do much to have all the raves coming from small east coast towns, like Fort Myers, Florida, and even Niskayuna, NY, but it's funny to read them. Little towns seem quite crazy to get a Five Guys. If I have to pull off a freeway on the way to Wine Country, or anywhere else, I'd pull off for an In N Out, but if you're in the area and don't want to get back on the freeway, you'll still be better off than you would at the big Corporate chains. That may not be the best recommendation, but when you make a point of cooking your meat well done, as a policy, that's what you get. read more

I expected to be impressed, but I found this eatery very much a more expensive In 'n Out with free peanuts. I would prefer to go to In 'n Out or pay $2 more for Applebee's which has a better, bigger burger. The French fired were nothing extraordinary. read more

The fries are MAGNIFICENT! But I haven't found anything else here I like. The burgers are greasy and soggy (though I admit I always get take-out). The grilled cheese is completely unremarkable. And the veggie burger? It's sautéed veggies on a burger bun - no party of any kind - again, super soggy. I return again and again for the fries but don't get anything else. You'd think at $13 for a burger, fries and a coke that the food should be really good. Not so at Five Guys. I ordered my hamburger medium rare and the order taker didn't object. I learned later that the burgers are all cooked well done. In my case, that meant completely dry, no juice whatsoever. The fries are decent, definitely better than In-N-Out, but the cost is much higher. For me, Five Guys was a "once in a lifetime experience". I will not be back. read more

I just wanna say I was in this Thursday and the night crew was fantastic I couldn't believe it. They all welcome me in as soon as I walked in the doors. The person at the cash register was so nice and helping me with the menu. The burger was the best burger I ever had good job cook. And don't let me start on the fries it was getting late around 9 o'clock I'm thinking the fries are gonna be horrible but then I take a few bites and it's like heaven. Walking through the door, I thought, "is this place an In N Out knockoff or what?" (And our family digs on INO). But the lady behind the register didn't greet us with a smile and didn't know if their iced tea was sweetened or not and didn't move to figure that out. The burger was definitely better than INO, bigger, juicier, sautéed mushrooms and jalapeños free toppings. The fries were comparable. The whole meal (1 medium cheeseburger, med fries, iced tea) was just over $14, which would seem more justified if the service was better. Would definitely go back though. read more

Filthy dining area, sticky chairs, tables are always dirty. Fries can be hit and miss. Burger topping amounts are inconsistent to the opening and almost non existent now. Bacon is added as crumbles and not strips. No manager on duty. Condiment bar is never fully stocked for dinner service. read more

This food is average, which was quite disappointing. I have been hearing for a while what a great burger they have.. told you have to try it, you will never want another kind of burger! That was definitely not my impression. The burger was average, the food was missing stuff, one of us never got our drink, and the service was sooo slow. Slow, Slow, Slow. I had one couple in front of me and had to wait 1/2 hour for my burger and fries. As for the Burger, it was decent, better then in and out but not by much. For the time it takes I go to Lumberjacks and get a way way better burger. 5guys is fast food quality, but in a sit down restaurant speed and cost. I was expecting a bigger patty, not even close to sit down places. For this reason I chose In&Out when I'm in a hurry and Ljacks when I want to sit. Wont go back, and I am disappointed because when I first heard they were coming to petaluma I was so excited. Not impressed with the burgers. Then after waiting 30 min for my food the child working behind the counter was super rude to me.

My wife and l went here for lunch looking for a good burger. We seen this place before and it always looked busy, so we decided to give it a try. Walked in looked liked they had a good menu and decided to order a two bacon cheeseburger and fries. Thinking the fries would be good because they say the fry them in peanut oil. We got our food and boy were we wrong the buns were soggy, the meat was tasteless, lettuce wilted, and so on. The fries were just as bad... greasy, cold, and limp. This food is way over priced for what you get. We will never go back here again. The article they have posted on the walls got this place all wrong. I was here with three of my good friends. We are all fifteen years old. We are waiting to get our food(more than 15 minutes) when a worker comes up to us and acuses us of taking $5 from the tip jar. We would never steal. Also keep in mind of the woman taking our order was more than rude. read more

My family loves this place. Good burgers, good service and free peanuts. What's not to like.
