Again, solid burger. I recommend getting the Jr. Burger which is a single patty burger. The regular is a double burger and honestly, a 2 meal burger. The patty is cooked fresh and tastes like a real home cooked burger that I was craving. I enjoy it with all the toppings. I also suggest splitting a small fry with someone. The fries are abundant and more than enough to share. In this location there is a Coca-Cola machine which allows you to get so many different flavors of your normal go to sodas. This time I ate inside. The restaurant was clean and had constantly a turn over of people eating inside. Highly recommend adding tons of toppings- my faves are sauteed onions and mushrooms, cheese, lettuce, tomato, fresh green peppers, mayo, and ketchup. And never leave without a big oily bag of fries! Note: a regular burger is TWO patties. I always make sure I'm getting one patty because that it plenty. Smiling cashier greeted us with such a great, welcoming personality. We ordered a couple burgers which were completely customizable. The little burger has one patty while the regular has two. We opted for the regular and got a hot dog for our little one and a small fry (which was actually a huge portion) to share. Everything was made to order, came out quickly and was hot, fresh and delicious! The fries were excellent. Inside was pretty basic with ample seating and a few high tops. Open kitchen so you can watch your food being prepared. For 2 burgers, a hot dog, one order of fries and a one soda it was about $35, which is a little steeper than I anticipated, but food costs are soaring right now - so I'll pay that for fresh, quality "fast food." read more

Outside of this location I don't know too much about Five Guys. Here is what I love. If you live close to New Broad St in the Baldwin Park community, you know you can put the order in online and walk to the location with your burgers and/or sandwiches ready to go. Its kept clean and in a pre-pandemic setting they typically offer complimentary peanuts. These come in handy when your hungry and ordered fries ahead. Five Guys have a fresh fry philosophy and so if you order ahead they will not drop the fries until you physically get there. If your an omnivorous family this spot is not going to be your best option. their Veggie sandwich is a little sad compared to other burger joints that are now offering option that are packed with more nutrient that a couple of mushroom, peppers, and onions. They DO NOT have vegan cheese which is a bummer because their French fries are the whole vibe. With that I do appreciate that their menu is simple and not overcomplicated. We do not order off the kids menu because we have noticed that the burger comes out like a hockey puck so save yourself and your kids and enjoy the adult burgers. My husband typically gets his in a lettuce bun which I have to commend because their lettuce bun gives you at least half of the iceberg lettuce had. Despite all the negative reviews I actually had a pretty great experience here! I watched them make my batch of fries fresh and they came out hot and perfectly crispy. The cheeseburger was also made fresh and was that delicious greasy messy burger I was hoping for. I had the worst experience I've EVER encountered with any restaurant. I ordered online at 9:30 pm or 940 pm. And I live 15 minutes away so I got there at 9:55Pm . I sent my son in to get our order and as he brings back the food I start to check my burger. I ordered a BCB with grilled green peppers. When I opened my burger I noticed that I only had one small piece of bacon on my burger and proceeded to check all and they all had little to no bacon on them and my green peppers were cold no indication they were on the grill. I went inside with my burger open advising to the employees that I didn't get the proper amount of bacon and my green peppers were not grilled. The employees called the manager who was sam and she said to me that she was all out of meat out of bacon and everything she has nothing left for the night. I told her several times I would like to speak to the Gm or get information to complain I asked for the email because she did not give me any information about the gm when they come in . She provides the email, I tell her again I want my burgers remade she says to me I offered you that. When she really told me she was out of everything. I then told her I opened this location many years ago when glen was the owner and know the five guys rule about customer complaints I told her that when a customer complains it's an automatic remake. She said she doesn't have time for this became argumentative and raised her voice in serveral occasions I remained calm and told her to stop yelling at me because I am not doing that to her and remain respectful. I calmly requested for my remake because the food was cold to touch and a refund for the bacon because there was none left. She then told me she's not doing both it's one of the other and if she was to remake It it would take over 20 minutes because they pre closed. Everything was put away before closing. She calls the Gm tells her I'm complaining about the food and at this point because of the back and forth my burger that was open because I am showing errors is all cold. She handled the phone to me the gm is explaining to me she is closing and I explained I paid for a bacon on all my items and should receive as such and the burgers were cold. She then asked for the manger to be put back on the phone the manger is saying out loud while on the phone you want me to remake it and refund it that's crazy we have to do that, very shortly after she then starts telling her crew they have to remake it. Because everything was pre closed what typically should have been 8 min -10 min wait time became over 20 min. I arrived at 9:55 pm and didn't leave until 10:40 something. Maybe even an hour. The manager was rude, yelling and raising her voice over their wrong doing for something I paid for and gave me hell to get the food i requested for. The easier thing to do was to simply apologize which was NEVER said and throw some bacon on the grill and offer that to me. I am understanding they are closing if she had jus made the bacon I would have rejected the remake but since she argued the entire time my food was cold and no longer gonna be able to enjoy it. That manager should not be a manager even while she was on the phone with the GM she was arguementive I had to say serveral times not to talk to me like that and tell her I am grown and you should be respectful and she says I'm grown woman too and claims I wasn't yelling be fr be fr and I told her again she was and not to talk to me that way. What was meant to be a nice enjoyable meal turned into the worst restaurant experience I've ever encountered. Ahhh, weekend burger fix. Some days we want the fancy, and some days call for a simple treat. For those occasions, Five Guys hits the spot. Reasonably priced, this place turns out consistent juicy burgers with all the fixings. In particular, the fries are the best thing on the menu. Fresh cut fries cooked in peanut oil makes them one of the best of the chain establishments. This location was clean and service was friendly. My wife and daughter were able to place their orders quickly with no wait. After you place your order, you grab a drink (free refills) and a basket of complimentary peanuts. The open kitchen lets you watch the crew as they create your order. About 10 minutes later, we got our order made just right. Our "well done" fries could have been a little bit more cooked but it is so subjective you can't really blame someone on their version of "well done". I'm sure we all know what Five Guys is by now. It's friggin awesome. But if you don't know what it is, I'll break it down for ya. Free toppings, greasy bags, peanuts, and delicious food. They have all of your normal "deluxe" toppings and more, including jalapeno/bell peppers and several sauces and relish. All of them are free to you to add as much as you'd like. Huge plus here. Anywhere that offers unlimited toppings is the true MVP. If you get fries, you also get possibly the greasiest to-go bag you've ever seen. The size of the fries range from little, reg, and large. Even the little is a lot. They fill up a cup and drop it in the bottom of the bag, and then basically a whole 'nother serving to sit in the bag around the rest of the food. The bag soaks up all the oil. Gross, right? Don't be too freaked out. They use cholesterol free peanut oil for frying. Also, while you wait for your food, if you like peanuts, they have unlimited peanuts for you to eat for free. Makes me wish I liked peanuts! Omg. The food is great. You can get regular size burgers (doubles) or little (single) burgers. You ask for whatever you want from their unlimited toppings and then it's wrapped up in foil and put into the bag with the fries. When you unwrap it, it's usually mushed up and doesn't look so hot, but daaaaaamn it's delicious. Can't decide if it's cool or tacky that this corporate burger place is in this faux vintage neighborhood. I guess I just answered my own question, lol. Anyway, I will say that it is kind of strange to see this place here. But then again there are other chains in the area, including a Publix. I'd imagine most of the traffic is foot traffic, though. Seems like a strange place to put a Five Guys. As for the location itself, it's pretty nice. I've seen bigger and cleaner 5G's. This has the standard atmosphere as far as decor - they didn't go for any faux vintage look like the rest of the neighborhood. It's a little dark, though. Service and food are on point. One thing I've noticed about this chain is that the food and service usually are pretty good no matter where you go. Bear in mind that 5G isn't a fast food place per se. They make everything to order including the fries. You'll never get cold food here (unless you get it delivered, maybe). Speaking of which, while I was eating I noticed a LOT of people came in to pick up call-in orders and DoorDash/Uber Eats orders. They're probably making half their money on non dine-in orders! I went with the regular (is that normally 2 patties?) It was quite large. Not sure if they were just being nice cause of all the noise or not. Also, ordered a regular fry and the bag was overflowing with them. Everything was tasty but nothing overwhelming. The bacon could have been crispier, it looked like it was just sitting out, not made fresh. The fries were very fresh and yummy but I always have to add salt each time. I just think the seasoning is a bit off here. The quality of the meat is solid but it just lacks flavor in my opinion. The staff was extremely friendly and nice. The cup wasn't even full when normally it's spilling out into the bag. As expensive as they are they shouldn't be short changing anything. Kinda of tired of hearing about how great Five Guys is when its really not that great. I think most of the critics must have still been in a food coma when they composed their reviews. A cheeseburger and large fries is around 2300 calories, which leaves even the most hearty eaters feeling listless. At one point, I too found myself promoting the Five Guys is great opinion. After many burgers and one bad experience there I have come full circle and changed my opinion that they suck ass! The burgers get wrapped so tightly in foil, that it crushes them into a squishy mess. The foil causes condensation to build up inside, which exacerbates this problem. Maybe try a vented box? People rave about there awesome toppings, canned mushroom and onions, which you can also have grilled. Yum. Last time I checked, sauces are condiments, not toppings. If you get more than two on your burger the result is a soupy, squished, soggy mess! I was going to give the fries a good review but the last fries I got there were left closed up in the bag on the counter for about 15 minutes before I got them, which reduced them below the the normal quality. My fries sat on the counter for so long since my burger had to be remade. I requested to have my cheeseburger remade since the cook who was preparing it went from scrubbing the walls with some cleaner and a rag, to handling my finished burger. Build the counter higher and block line of sight like the other fast food places do! What you don't know won't hurt you. One could say that this trend is due to America's maturing as a country. We as a people are no longer content with seeing the cheeseburger, one of our most beloved cultural icons, reduced to a flavorless drive-thru abomination. Customization is king at Five Guys, but with great power comes great responsibility. One must be careful not to select too many toppings (and believe me, there are a great many toppings), lest you be left with a soggy mess. Personally, I like to get my burger with jalapenos, grilled onions, mushrooms, non-grilled onions, lettuce, pickles, and hot sauce. You can also order your burger with different (i.e., wrong) toppings if you so choose. The fries are good, but be forewarned, the servings are massive. I would say that a medium fry is enough for three regular people or two exceptionally hungry hunks. If you're dining alone, I recommend ordering a kid's-sized order (note that a kid's-sized order here is a wantonly irresponsible amount of fries to give a human child). If you're cool and smart like I am, you will put malt vinegar on your fries. You can also eat peanuts while you wait for your burger, or you can just forego fries altogether and just have peanuts as your side (keep your eyes on those macros, bro). My East coast friends always make a fuss about the In N' Out Burgers readily available out West. What they neglected to tell me was they had a burger chain that gives In N' Out a run for its burger. I like to describe the Five Guys burger as just like an In N'Out burger but with meat. I love In N'Out but I always thought it would be nice if their burgers were a bit thicker. This review is strictly for the service I experienced today. Went in about 2:30PM. Seemed dead in there. There were two guys cooking, and one lady up front at the register. The manager even came up to the register at one point but I was not greeted by anyone. The workers all seemed like they just smoked some weed and were moving so slow. The lady printed out a receipt and said, "here's your order sir." Funny thing was that I had not even ordered yet. She began to take my order and messed it up. She didn't know how to delete the order, so she just moved to the next register to start over.
