Service was fast, and the woman at the register was so friendly! She greeted us immediatly and was very patient with our decision making. The resturant is very clean and the staff work very hard, when there were no customers waiting, the staff were all cleaning the lobby area and cleaning the kitchen area up. This place does have delicious burgers. Theres no questioning that. But the prices are a joke! Yes the burgers are scrumptious but the price makes me think twice. I gave it 3 stars strickly because of that. My fiance and I heard great things about Five Guys and decided to give it a try. You have to pay everything separate! Mad disappointed, didn't get what I asked for on my burger. .. forgot to give me my shake, after going back inside for it and had to wait for someone to make it, i asked for a straw and was told to go get one at the back of the dining area. Today was my first experience at FIVE GUYS restaurant and I can honestly say that I've never had a better burger, so fresh and juicy and not one hint of dryness or 'blandness' and the portion size was perfect . I had been told by a number of people that I had to try this place for a great burger and fries and I finally had occasion to go in. I walked in the door and smell of dirt hit me - it seemed like it was seeping out from the back of the store where the bathrooms were. I also noticed the place was not particularly clean (there was garbage on the floor and under tables, the table top was a bit grimy, etc.). I wasn't happy about this but I figured I'd just let it go and see if the food was worth putting up with the messiness. I walked up to the counter and told the server that I'd never been there before and she gratefully explained the menu. I ordered a cheeseburger with a few toppings, a small fry and a fountain drink along with a hot dog. I didn't have to wait long for my order and well it was definitely very good. It was a very tasty burger, a very tasty hot dog and amazing fries - extremely hot and crispy the way I like them. Admittedly it is a bit expensive but you do get two large patties on a typical burger and a lot of fries for the money. The next time I want an amazing burger fixed the way I like, amazing fries and an amazing broiled hot dog, I am coming here. read more

It's a Five Guys, and, like other Five Guys, it measures up as a four star joint with excellent burgers, great fries served in oversized portions and delicious shakes. This place has great burgers and the the fries are very good. I would've given this place a five star rating based on the food. The service, particularly the wait , however, is atrocious. Whether I order in person or call my order in there is at least a 15 minute wait before I get my food. I could understand the wait if this was a high demand period but with only 3 customers in the resturant and fully staffed kitchen this doesn't make sense. Don't bother ordering online you'll double your wait time. If you want a good burger at a good price come here. Went to Five Guys today for a burger & fries, I haven't been here for about a year because of the price but wanted to give it another try. First thing, price is still an issue, a regular bacon cheeseburger, medium fries and drink ran me about $16 dollars. 1. The only quality issue I had was with the burger patty itself, it was well done and dry...not very appetizing. Maybe this is why all the toppings are free, they can help make the sandwich more moist. Seriously you can't order a medium-rare burger, they are all cooked well done. Maybe this is a training issue, it's easier to train a grill person to cook everything one way and and no worries about returned burgers for not being cooked correctly. For the price I would want my burger cooked the way I want. 2. The fries are very good and you get plenty of them. The problem I'd the way they are served. I ate there and they put the burger and fries next to each other in the bottom of the bag then covered both with another scoop of fries. While I do appreciate the amount of fries I was given, I had to eat half the fries to get my burger out of the bag. Please either put the fries in a separate bag, put them in a bigger container so they are easier to get out or at least give me a paper plate so I can dump out the fries. I do have to say though they were hot, crispy and tasty. 3. The is a good variety of drinks and it's nice you can refill your cup. 4. I was there at about 4pm on a Tuesday so there were not many customers there, the service was quick and all the employees were very nice. The place was also nice and clean. So I think if money is not an issue and you like your burgers well-done this is a good choice otherwise I would look elsewhere. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at the burgers they are really wonderful. Very simple but juicy and delicious. I loved the fries and thought that they were cooked just right. They even took my order on the phone and got it right! Last time I went I had he Kosher Hot Dog what a treat. I bring my sons and granddaughter to five guys. The hamburgers are a bit pricey but it's worth it. Whatever you order is cooked there so you are receiving freshly cooked food. They have all combinations of burgers with several FREE toppings. For your drink they give you a large sized cup which you can refill. They have a CHILDREN'S menu as well. The staff is young but very amicable and courteous. ALWAYS SMILING!!!! While you wait, you can snack on fresh peanuts. The servings are huge and for the fries, you receive a bagful instead of a small, medium or large. FILLING AND DELICIOUS!!!!!! I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A FAMILY ORIENTED PLACE FOR LUNCH OR DINNER. BY THE WAY, there is staff that is constantly cleaning tables and cleaning the floor. I have never had a problem with 5 guys and actually to rebut Dan S. from Walden, I think Nicole is an outstanding worker. She is always businesslike, order is always correct, and she has always been very polite and courteous. The times we went and ate in, she always offered peanuts and was always busy tending counter or cleaning. It may be possible that she is special and to you comes across as rude. Look at all the facts before labeling someone. And the food is always good for those times you want a greasy burger!!! LOL read more

Can't believe all the fuss about this place. Same old dried out, tasteless burgers you get at all the other fast food joints and barely any menu variety if someone in your party wants something else. Take my advice -- if you want a good burger in the Newburgh area, go to any one of the several Diners located there. The food is excellent. But the short girl with the classes, I believe her name is Nicole. Whom works the register is incredibly rude and genuinely makes for an awkward visit. I look forward to enjoying five guys. But it's almost always a huge disappointment walking in and seeing Nicole standing there with her shitty attitude. She offers you and sample milkshake and becomes annoyed when you do not accept it. She will also cut you off in the middle of you giving her your order. It's incredibly un professional.
