This is the MOST stingy 5 guys I have ever been to. I have been to five guys all around the country and each time I order a large fry, it is so much that my family has trouble finishing it. I asked the employee, how many does the large size feed? She said about 4. When I got the order, I would say it feeds 2 AT MOST! So I ordered a second large just in case it was a mistake... SAME. So I asked the second employee.. how many does it typically feed... she said 6. So I showed her the bag and she saw it was less and said she would get the manager to show him... he looked in the bag and said it feeds about 3 people... "that looks about right" he said.... NO WAY!! I would NOT pay 6 dollars for fries unless it was a generous portion. The fact that the manager and two employees had different opinions on the serving size is enough to say that it is not a five guys I would go to again. Burgers look more sloppy than most five guys I have been to as well, but I am less particular on something like that. Just give me what I paid for. $12 dollars for two large fries?? Stopped in tonite on way back from picking my father up from airport at 9pm. Wow! Wonderful cashiers ! Wonderful staff ! Cashier Aida very customer focused and they all should be commended . Had Five Guys on one other occasion in NYC and it was nasty! However, this location made my burger & fries to perfection. Burgers my wife and I had were pretty darn good and were indeed natural tasting (not frozen or processed). Fries were cooked well but did seem like they were double dipped in the fryer where my wife observed the cooks re-cooking some fries. The re-cooking of fries probably explains why in other stores they are greasy. This spot has tons of seating and it was a bit crowded but that's to be expected since it's a new location in the area. This spot has gained my confidence in the Five Guys franchise although I do find it pricey for "fast food" but the quality of burger is there. read more

Well this is like any other Five Guys and aligns to the chain. The menu is the standard menu where you build your burger or hot dogs and they serve it with fries. I am not the biggest fan of the fries from here as they are not crispy and crunchy, but too soggy for my taste. I was glad to have spotted this place right off the freeway on my way to PA. read more

Had some really great food here. I ordered the Cheese Veggie Sandwich and it was pretty good. Very messy but yummy. They were unfortunately out of mushrooms but I didn't miss them much. My only complaint is that it was very messy and I feel like it should be in a sub roll or something to make eating it easier. I needed a fork to pick up all the cheesy veggies that fell out. The cajun fries were really good. I got a banana shake and it was really tasty. My guy got a burger and a salted caramel shake and he enjoyed his food as well. This is a update for 5 guys. I ate here tonight. It was not bad the food was cooked good. Everything I ordered came out as I placed it. I got a cheeseburger with pickles. The last few times i have been in 5 guys the the floors have been and the tables were dirty. This time everything was clean. There wants too many people inside. I truly feel that is the reason the food came out good. 5 guys still is a good late night place. I prob will have another 4 meal tonight. A place on Route 300 and 17k, specializes in burgers and fries!! What are the competition? On the same plaza, you have Chili's, Longhorn steakhouse. further drive down are Sonic, Friday's. Applebee's, McDonald's inside Walmart. Drive up you have Wendys. For the price, this is a value burger that taste good with lots of toppings, (you can add extra bacon at no charge), unlimited soda, and the fries they over fill and then give you some more in the bag!!! You will get full and satisfied. So given the competition, yeah I'll be back here often to get my burger and fries craving satisfied!!! read more

The first time, my order was given away, and ended up waiting close to 45min for the food to be done, me and my family where starving. This was my first time here. The burgers are double burgers unless you order a single. You add as many toppings as you like. 2 people 2 burgers 2 fries 2 sodas $20. The fries portion were huge we could have easily shared one order. The food was tasty to be fair I think I overpowered the burger with to many toppings. The floor was dirty full of peanut shells and trash. It was cold and the chairs are metal which made it colder.( February) However someone started cleaning up during our stay. I was wondering where everyone was getting these peanuts. I didn't find out until I left and looked inside and saw their were boxes of peanuts when you walk in the door and you help yourself. You don't really see them when you walk in. I think the person that took our order should have said help yourself to some of our free peanuts. came here for lunch, it was pretty slow here and not crowded. so i ordered a double cheeseburger with, mayo, ketchup, mustard and grilled onions, Cajun fries small and a small drink since its unlimited refills regardless. the cashier was very friendly and not bothered with my questions on the menu. being able to customize your burger then having a already burger dressed with little input is nice. my wait was very short for my food, but the music here can be a little loud and guy yelling out the order numbers completed was slightly drowned out, was thanked for my order. I did find like a few here the buns to be soggy, could be buttered and toasted. the burger tasted pretty good, well done cooked, not too greasy. I think there was too much cheese put on the burger, I mean two slices for a double is fine, not 3-4, makes it looks messy. no issues with my custom options. Cajun fries were rough cut, meaning to me they look homemade, so plus there. some fries were crispy and some were soggy, overall good, but i would tone done the seasoning, you can get the fries seasoned enough without dropping half a cup of seasoning. hot in temps for the fries. restaurant itself was pretty clean, orderly. read more

Frustrating visit. Order/payment went fine. Then watched an associate wipe down tables, counters, door knobs, chairs, everything in the with the same damp rag. Kind of offsetting. Our number was called for our shake. Then a couple food numbers beyond ours, and pretty soon, ten orders beyond ours. We had a large order, but it was time to check this out. A hispanic gentleman, a little older than the teen staff, perhaps the manager tried to make conversation with me from the kitchen area. After two tries, he came over to the pickup area, another failure to hear my query, he couldn't hear me over the music and machinery. Finally he gets my number, our bag had been parked. "You didn't hear us call you?". I told him we heard lots of numbers, but the music was very loud and the chillers for the beverages were also loud. He handed me our bag, I repeated that the music was pretty loud. He smiled and said "it's ok" and apparently felt I was apologizing for not hearing what ever effort they made to call us up. Some people just don't get it, even when you help them. Beyond being cold and the buns soggy, the burgers appear to have been well prepared at one point in the evening. That gets us to two stars. Bad sampling error, most customers got their food in a timely fashion. For local visitors, get a table close to the kitchen or stand watch at pickup. We had three starving diners, eagerly awaiting the first bite of food in ten hours and nobody heard "boo" and very shocking that they'd park a cashier ticket so quickly, with only six tables busy and staff waiting for something to do. read more

I don't know why I keep going back to this place. I don't go for months in the hopes it will change and it doesn't. I ordered a cheeseburger with no bun, extra pickles, extra peppers. My cheeseburger had the cheese on the bottom of the dish. Really? The extra peppers? I got a total of 5 thin slivers of green pepper. Pickles were the only thing that i go "extra" of. My husband said he went to pick it up and was ignored while a worker just stood there doing nothing. All these people take pictures on Instagram of these awesome burgers with all these toppings from Five Guys and I get this dried up mess with cheese at the bottom of the dish. Yes! There is finally a Five Guys in Newburgh!!! This is the greatest thing that's ever happened to me!!! For those of you who are unaware, Five Guys Burgers and Fries is a burger chain that started in DC. It has locations all over the country, mostly in the South. Until now, we've had to travel to Poughkeepsie for this burgery goodness. No longer! If you have never tried Five Guys, I highly recommend you do. It's next to Panera! Five Guys sells juicy, fresh burgers and cheeseburgers with any toppings you want. A regular burger is two patties, so it fills you up and tastes better than McDonalds. The fries are supposed to taste like fries on the outside, baked potatoes on the inside. Maybe not crunchy enough for some, but they are not greasy and taste delicious with a bit of salt and ketchup. The shop is designed like all the other Five Guys I've been to: red and white color scheme, quote from newspapers and radio hosts boasting about how great the food is, awards they've won, and BAGS AND BAGS of potatoes everywhere. This food is definitely fresh. Price-wise, it's no McDonalds. A burger, fries, and a drink (free refills!) will run you about 10 bucks. It'll be the best $10 you'll ever spend. FInally! Newburgh has some good quick meal options. Anyway, this particular restaurant: food tasted great, cashier (Carl S.!!) was friendly. It was a bit slow at the time but there were still like 10 people standing around behind the counter with nothing to do. The food took a little while to come out but it's worth the wait. If i could give this half or minus one star i would... the service staff using profain and unprofessional language is only the start! As i learned this location doesn't enforce the no shirt no shoes policy, also not to mention the fact that employees not only let their pants sag but on more than one occasion i have personally seen them scratch their butt with gloved hands and failed to change their gloves afterwards!! An employee whom i know personally was fired after insulting another employee who made a VERY sexually explicit remark and hand gesture after asking him to clean the chair legs during closing... these employees have also used disgusting remarks twards other employees and customers alike, not to mention the sexually flirtatious comments between employees in the open. Praise be. Quite simply, the finest burger I have ever eaten. Five Guys do one thing, and they do it well (I guess they do hot dogs too, but...) Every element of their burgers is essentially perfect. I had a bacon cheeseburger with BBQ sauce and onions - all toppings are free - with fries and a (bottomless) root beer. Sublime. Do not under any circumstance order food here. I placed a curbside order online to pick up at 6:15. At 6:15 I arrived and called and was told it would just be a couple of minutes. 15 minutes later I walked in and asked about my order. The guy behind the counter went to check on it and said they were still making it. I stood there for another 5 minutes and finally asked somebody else. Inhabitants of the OC used to have to schlep to Nanuet or Po-town to get their 5 Guys fix but now you can head over to the Palmerone Farms plaza (behind LongHorn Steakhouse) on Rt. 300 in da 'burgh. If you have an itch that only the juiciest burger that you've ever eaten can answer, then this is the place for you. The burgers are 10x better than what any of the other fast food joints have to offer. I always order the same thing, Bacon Cheeseburger with BBQ and Hot sauce. Yumm!! I went here for the first time and had a bacon cheese burger. It was so good! In my opinion though they were very much more hyped on the internet as it tasted for me. Deffinatly a high quality burger but for it to be voted best in the country wasn't true for me. Applebee's burgers were better for me. They were Deffinatly better than McDonald's and any other fast food but it was almost 8$ for it which is quite expensive for a small burger. If you have the money it's definitely worth it for a quick bite though. read more
