I see why this place is always deserted and no one is ever stopping in. I stopped here based off of the recommendation of someone with me that was familiar with the "yummy taco" brand in Queens. Supposedly they said it was bussin. It's supposed to be "Tex Mex" but it's ran by Asians? In what looks like a renovated Chinese restaurant that they slapped a Mexican food menu on? I ordered a chicken burrito. It wasn't even WRAPPED. This is a large SOFT TACO. The meat was OVERCOOKED and TOUGH. This place is TRASH. I wouldn't eat her if I had nothing else to eat and was starving, I'd rather die of hunger. Avoid this place, you've been warned. read more

This was such an odd place. The whole place is set up exactly like a chinese food restaurant and is run by Asians, but its a Mexican menu. I was skeptical so just got 2 tacos. One ground beef and one grilled chicken. I dont like lettuce so ordered them w/no lettuce. The ground beef tasted good, but was skimpy on the tomatos and cheese. The chicken one was subject to the same skimp. Unfortunately the chicken was overcooked, tough and dry. Two tacos cost me 6 bucks and they charged me a twenty six cent "additional fee" for using debit. All in all this place was unimpressive and I doubt I will be back. If your hungry for tacos skip this place and head down the road to Taco Tico instead. read more

Bf ate here yesterday to try it and it was very tasty. So today after shopping and chiropractor we came in for dinner. I had the chicken yakisoba noodles that came with miso and shumai. It was really tasty. Bf had the same Teriyaki chicken & Steak with rice. And he ordered side of Miso. It was bigger than mine, like a side order. As we sat down everything came out at once. We got a side of chips n salsa with our Chinese lol!! Cause we ate in I guess. I think next time we will try Mexican. As we sat here I watched them make ( flatten out) the tortillas in the machine. Making chips or burritos. We came back into town and here we r!! I tried the Shrimp Fajitas and he had the chicky Teri with side of vegis. He got it spicy this time and it's perfect!! My fajitas we ok. The shrimp was breaded tho but when I put everything together in a fresh tortilla it was good. I think u get 10 -12 big Shrimp. The tortillas were piping hot too!!! Yum read more

If you're hoping to get a Chinese take on Mexican food and nothing even resembling Mexican food or flavor, this is your place! We ordered a regular soft taco with guacamole, a bean taco, and a veggie Burrito (because I like veggies and it sounded interesting) as takeout. Well, perhaps I'm wrong, but I have always assumed tacos contain some variety of meat seasoned with your typical blend of taco spices. Not this one! just a tortilla (albeit a pretty yummy one) filled with lettuce, tomato, what looks like prepackaged shredded cheese, and topped with a smear of overcooked (why is it cooked at all?!?) guacamole! No spices AT ALL! So I decided to sample the burrito. First bite, a huge chunk of overcooked celery! Also, no spices. Well then, maybe the bean burrito? Like a can of refried black beans wrapped in a tortilla! Needless to say, as I was pretty hungry, I consumed just enough to sustain my energy until proper sustenance could be procured and tossed the rest in the fridge until a less discerning palate could... dispose of it. I didn't try any of their 'Japanese' ...cuisine, (just got back to NY after living in Japan for 5 years, pretty sure they wouldn't have done that justice either), but judging from their attempts at Mexican food I think they should probably just stick to Chinese food. read more

I don't know what I expected, but I had hoped something "yummy" would be it. I was wrong. I stopped in on a random afternoon while running errands, and my boyfriend and I decided to give this a shot. Let me preface this by saying, we had few expectations and were a bit hungover due to a great time at a fundraiser the night before. So, we walk in and the place is set up like a take out restaurant and there's a kid behind the register. We examined the menu and while I was intrigued by the udon dishes, I was swayed by the name and desired mexican food. I ordered the chicken enchilada and received..... Not a flipping enchilada. The good is that the portions were generous, and the staff was nice. The food came out in to go containers which i would have appreciated more if I enjoyed my meal enough to take home with me. My chicken enchiladas came with black beans and rice...and they were so bland! It was really disappointing. Luckily the meal was inexpensive but there are some stellar taco places nearby which makes the existence of Yummy Taco basically a joke. read more

Well I like Chinese food and I like Mexican food and now we can welcome to Newburgh the first Mexinese taco place. I spotted this place next to pizza Mia in the target Plaza,I just walked up to grab a menu; the first thing I saw were Japanese udon noodle bowls along with shumai and edamame... Okay that got my attention. I got home yo look over the menu and it sounded too good to be true Chinese / Japanese options with a full Mexican menu to boot. Mind you its majority Mexican food with that little splash of Asian. I had a super burrito which involved steak shrimp and chicken over a massive tortilla with rice beans and the regular fixings. I open it up and lessen the filling with a fork and then close it back up before I could finish it, it was that big. Not going to lie the food is bangin. I also had the shrimp udon noodles which was, great basically overflowing with shrimp. And that's never a problem. The menu itself is pretty extensive, you might want to look it over a few times before you make your choices. There are a lot of healthy options here and I suspect this could be made vegetarian as well. read more

yummy teriyaki steak & chicken/veggies over sticky white rice for $8. Amazing. This one of those spots.

The chicken is not burnt or dry! It's actually cooked right and better than any other place that makes tacos especially at the speed and staff they have. I have been going here since they opened 10 plus years ago! Always consistent! Never burned or over cooked and priced right with friendly service. I don't usually do reviews but reading this negative stuff and ppl complaining and comparing this real chicken and real meat to Taco Bell is killing me! Their shrimp is cleaned! Also big and shell and tips removed for easy comfort eating. I could go on and on. Ignore the current post Covid setting and no restroom. This married couple works hard and does it right! Give them credit, what do you do!? read more

Listen to me. With ratings like these one there must be no authentic Mexicans in Newburgh because what I ordered last night was NOT A TACO. And maybe I shouldn't have been surprised with all the Asians behind the counter. But I was trying to be open minded, ok? never again! I ordered FOUR soft shell "tacos" which each turned out to be half sized burritos. Fail! They were also made with the cheapest, worst possible ingredients ever. Totally flavorless. The only reason they have two stars and not one is that they were friendly, cheap and their buffalo wings (mooched from my cousin) tasted pretty good. Conclusion? Don't quit your day jobs! Wait... read more

Yummy Taco - This is not a taco. - Japanese Near Me - Newburgh, New York

Don't make the mistake I made. Not real Mexican food. Not even real Tex Mex. Ordered a chicken and steak burrito. Not good. Go anywhere but here for your Mexican food. Taco Bell is better. It's a Chinese restaurant serving Mexican food. Bad idea, bad food. read more

This is one of the most under rated places to eat in the Newburgh area. Have lived in the city most of my life and accustomed to really good food, this place is better than most around here. They have a very large selection in their menu from Mexican to Buffalo chicken wings to some Japanese noodles, soups and teriyaki items. I really like the decorations style. When you first walk in you might think that you just walked into a Chinese place restaurant, until you look up at the menu. My boys love the changing lights on the ceiling and below the counter, there is a flat screen TV on the wall which is always a plus. Most importantly the place is nice and clean. They also deliver. read more

I was waiting for her JetBlue flight to arrive at Stewart airport, and I had plenty of time to kill. Yelped this place and was intrigued by the reviews...why not? It's in a strip mall, tucked in a corner, and if you weren't looking for it you would never find it. It has ask the hallmarks of one of those Chinese takeaway places -illuminated menu board, golden Buddha, stacks of menus next to the register, and kitchen full of Asian workers....BUT THEY SERVE MEXICAN!!! No frills service..Styrofoam plate, plastic utensils, burrito wrapped in foil...they shout at you that it's ready, come pick it up. Don't get me wrong, they are very nice, very friendly. The place is very clean too. Food was adequate. Tasty I suppose, but I'm not going to remember it in a month. Wasn't that expensive, it filled me up, and killed an hour of the delayed flight time. I gave this place an extra star because they were so friendly...otherwise it's a 3 (maybe 3.5). read more

I think it's a fucking great place there burritos are a1 10/10 stay blessed pimp it is the best place ever

wow! Was this a find. I was in town on business and we were looking for a place to eat. We ventured into the parking lot that had several options in the strip mall. Tacos sounded good so we parked and walked in. Upon walking in we both stopped in our tracks because we thought we were going into a Mexican taco place....but we were greeted with jade figurines, Asian decorations, complete with the lit-up plastic menue board above the cash register just like a Chinese take out place would have. However, most of the items were all taco/burrito based. I believe there were a few Asian type dishes available but clearly wasn't what they were set up for. My co-worker got a burrito and I got the tacos. Her burrito was huge and she enjoyed every fork full she could fit into her mouth. My tacos were also very tasty. While we sat and ate I noticed a rather large team of people in the back chopping, cooking, and preparing various meats, veggies, etc. I was glad to see this and saw our food come off the grills instead of scooped out of a warmer bin. Waiting the extra couple of minutes for freshly prepared foods makes all the difference. I have thought of this place a few times since that trip and wish I could have tried a few more of the items on the menue. read more

While the resturant appeared very clean and bright, we were unimpressed with food. The chimichangas were assembled like eggrolls with questionable chicken and hidden in too much cheese. Could not cut threw or chew into it! But they try to make up with huge portions of rice n beans. My burrito was tiny and not folded- so when I opened the foil it was a mess... BTW- they dont appear to have heat or count on the ovens to warm the place- so the staff was bundled up against the cold night. read more

We are The Wolf Pack. You'll never know who we are, just know we are hungry. We are a tight group of hard working animals who build up an appetite and need to feed. We have chosen Newburgh as our feeding ground and scour the streets for culinary treats. Our opinion is diverse so it will be the only one you'll need to decide where you sink your teeth. If you want perfectly cultivated cuisine for an affordable price with exquisite service and great ambiance, look no further. 4 dishes ordered, and four satisfied eaters. They cook the meat with the right amount of char, ample portions of sides, and everything seems to be served on hand crafted tortilla. Wash it down with a sweet tea and shut your mouth, because you just ate great Mexican served with a Korean barbecue flair. Oh yeah, like heat? Ask for the next step up hot sauce and smack the person next to you, because you just had a flavor packed plastic ramekin of some next level heat. Not enough to melt your face, but enough to stop you from punching someone in theirs. Your money goes a long way here average price of the packs visit was $11 bucks a plate, but if you leave hungry, you need to go in a diet. Wolf Pack Out read more

Well that was fun. This is a little adventure in greasy food, with a bizarre menu cooked by Cantonese speaking chefs. All options seemed fine. I had something ominously named "chicken jalapeño" and survived. For around $7, you get a stomach and a half of food, conveniently served in a to-go container. My opinion is that the Japanese food looked better than the Mexican, but I can't speak directly to the flavor. read more

I love this place. Finally a place that does mexican food the american way. Ive had authentic mexican and its not my cup of tea. Yummy taco puts that fat American spin on it and i love it. Pedro is not sneaking out to eat here, but I liked it. I know a little something about Mexican food having lived in SoCal for 5 years. I had the grilled steak burrito. The meat was very tasty and plentiful. The burrito was over stuffed making it hard to handle. Biggest suggestion would be more cilantro. That would give it the Mexican flavor I'm used to. Once again, good value and hats off to the Chinese people preparing the food. read more

Yummy Taco - Very clean! - Japanese Near Me - Newburgh, New York

How this place has 4 stars, I have no clue. I stopped at Yummy Taco after looking up a place to stop for food off of I-87 on Yelp. It's in a shopping plaza with bright neon signs which made my husband suspect, but I trusted the good Yelp reviews would lead us to a yummy meal. We were beyond confused by the menu. It was not fusion. It's clearly staffed and run by an Asian owner, yet 95% of the food was Mexican. My husband ordered a burrito, and I ordered the veggie udon, one of the few Japanese items on the menu. The burrito was not quite a burrito. The udon noodle soup lacked flavor. Maybe we just had high expectations from the other good reviews. read more

Asked for shrimp tacos they gave me breaded tacos. I have a bread allergy and the menu said nothing about the shrimp being breaded. Just to let you all know, frying shrimp doesn't automatically mean its breaded you can fry it in butter or oil. The owner told the person on the phone that he wants to save money and he can't give me steamed shrimp and that they can only do the Japanese food with steamed shrimp. my friend had the Mexican food with steamed shrimp in it. I asked him why he said that he wanted to save money and I got an attitude and was told the owner never said that. I asked them to just bring me the chicken tacos instead and I got no refund or apology. The tacos are just awful people if you think the food is quality for Newburgh you're mistaken. Have you ever thought to yourself "I just wish there was a one-stop-shop for mediocre Mexican food and pretty good Chinese"? If so, your search just ended. This was my first time going to Yummy Taco, and per my confused palate, probably last. The food was decent, but I just left so confused. Fried shrimp in my burrito, teriyaki chicken in the chicken tacos, unseasoned steak in the steak tacos... But the gyoza was dope, so they won a star there. Salsa options were also confusing, if they want to serve tacos, why only offer Sriracha? Fusion restaurants are becoming the thing, but this was just CONfusion. On the plus side, very clean restaurant, friendly service, food wasn't greasy or gross, just ill-thought-out. read more

This place has the best food in Newburgh, NY if your looking for it. Very inexpensive price for expensive taste. The shrimp burritos are just shy of perfection.
