Supposedly they said it was bussin. It's supposed to be "Tex Mex" but it's ran by Asians? In what looks like a renovated Chinese restaurant that they slapped a Mexican food menu on? I ordered a chicken burrito. It wasn't even WRAPPED. This is a large SOFT TACO. The meat was OVERCOOKED and TOUGH. This place is TRASH. This was such an odd place. The whole place is set up exactly like a chinese food restaurant and is run by Asians, but its a Mexican menu. I was skeptical so just got 2 tacos. One ground beef and one grilled chicken. I dont like lettuce so ordered them w/no lettuce. The ground beef tasted good, but was skimpy on the tomatos and cheese. The chicken one was subject to the same skimp. Unfortunately the chicken was overcooked, tough and dry. Two tacos cost me 6 bucks and they charged me a twenty six cent "additional fee" for using debit. All in all this place was unimpressive and I doubt I will be back. Bf ate here yesterday to try it and it was very tasty. So today after shopping and chiropractor we came in for dinner. I had the chicken yakisoba noodles that came with miso and shumai. It was really tasty. Bf had the same Teriyaki chicken & Steak with rice. And he ordered side of Miso. It was bigger than mine, like a side order. As we sat down everything came out at once. We got a side of chips n salsa with our Chinese lol!! Cause we ate in I guess. I think next time we will try Mexican. As we sat here I watched them make ( flatten out) the tortillas in the machine. Making chips or burritos. We came back into town and here we r!! I tried the Shrimp Fajitas and he had the chicky Teri with side of vegis. He got it spicy this time and it's perfect!! If you're hoping to get a Chinese take on Mexican food and nothing even resembling Mexican food or flavor, this is your place! We ordered a regular soft taco with guacamole, a bean taco, and a veggie Burrito (because I like veggies and it sounded interesting) as takeout. Well, perhaps I'm wrong, but I have always assumed tacos contain some variety of meat seasoned with your typical blend of taco spices. Not this one! just a tortilla (albeit a pretty yummy one) filled with lettuce, tomato, what looks like prepackaged shredded cheese, and topped with a smear of overcooked (why is it cooked at all?!?) guacamole! No spices AT ALL! So I decided to sample the burrito. First bite, a huge chunk of overcooked celery! Also, no spices. Well then, maybe the bean burrito? Like a can of refried black beans wrapped in a tortilla! Needless to say, as I was pretty hungry, I consumed just enough to sustain my energy until proper sustenance could be procured and tossed the rest in the fridge until a less discerning palate could... dispose of it. I don't know what I expected, but I had hoped something "yummy" would be it. I was wrong. I stopped in on a random afternoon while running errands, and my boyfriend and I decided to give this a shot. Let me preface this by saying, we had few expectations and were a bit hungover due to a great time at a fundraiser the night before. So, we walk in and the place is set up like a take out restaurant and there's a kid behind the register. We examined the menu and while I was intrigued by the udon dishes, I was swayed by the name and desired mexican food. I ordered the chicken enchilada and received..... Not a flipping enchilada. The good is that the portions were generous, and the staff was nice. The food came out in to go containers which i would have appreciated more if I enjoyed my meal enough to take home with me. My chicken enchiladas came with black beans and rice...and they were so bland! It was really disappointing. I spotted this place next to pizza Mia in the target Plaza,I just walked up to grab a menu; the first thing I saw were Japanese udon noodle bowls along with shumai and edamame... Okay that got my attention. I got home yo look over the menu and it sounded too good to be true Chinese / Japanese options with a full Mexican menu to boot. Mind you its majority Mexican food with that little splash of Asian. I had a super burrito which involved steak shrimp and chicken over a massive tortilla with rice beans and the regular fixings. I open it up and lessen the filling with a fork and then close it back up before I could finish it, it was that big. Not going to lie the food is bangin. I also had the shrimp udon noodles which was, great basically overflowing with shrimp. And that's never a problem. The menu itself is pretty extensive, you might want to look it over a few times before you make your choices. This is one of the most under rated places to eat in the Newburgh area. Have lived in the city most of my life and accustomed to really good food, this place is better than most around here. They have a very large selection in their menu from Mexican to Buffalo chicken wings to some Japanese noodles, soups and teriyaki items. I really like the decorations style. When you first walk in you might think that you just walked into a Chinese place restaurant, until you look up at the menu. wow! Was this a find. I was in town on business and we were looking for a place to eat. We ventured into the parking lot that had several options in the strip mall. Tacos sounded good so we parked and walked in. Upon walking in we both stopped in our tracks because we thought we were going into a Mexican taco place....but we were greeted with jade figurines, Asian decorations, complete with the lit-up plastic menue board above the cash register just like a Chinese take out place would have. However, most of the items were all taco/burrito based. I believe there were a few Asian type dishes available but clearly wasn't what they were set up for. My co-worker got a burrito and I got the tacos. Her burrito was huge and she enjoyed every fork full she could fit into her mouth. My tacos were also very tasty. While we sat and ate I noticed a rather large team of people in the back chopping, cooking, and preparing various meats, veggies, etc. I was glad to see this and saw our food come off the grills instead of scooped out of a warmer bin. Waiting the extra couple of minutes for freshly prepared foods makes all the difference. It was not fusion. It's clearly staffed and run by an Asian owner, yet 95% of the food was Mexican. Asked for shrimp tacos they gave me breaded tacos. I have a bread allergy and the menu said nothing about the shrimp being breaded. Just to let you all know, frying shrimp doesn't automatically mean its breaded you can fry it in butter or oil. The owner told the person on the phone that he wants to save money and he can't give me steamed shrimp and that they can only do the Japanese food with steamed shrimp. my friend had the Mexican food with steamed shrimp in it. Salsa options were also confusing, if they want to serve tacos, why only offer Sriracha? Fusion restaurants are becoming the thing, but this was just CONfusion.
