a receipt for five guys

The service has changed some. There were a quite a few employees behind the counter this day, a lot of dirty tables. Still a lot of ppl stopping by, so business hasn't changed, but we were dodging a few flies. Customer service wasn't friendly. The girl at the register appeared not happy to be at work. She didn't greet me or say hello, just stared at me & waited on me to place my order. LOL She didn't have to stare long, i was ready! My food was good, per usual. i think I'll give them some time before I revisit.

Got the burger bowl this past weekend and was WAY underwhelmed. Salt and pepper go a long way guys!! It's unfortunate that they don't use it. Lots of hype around five guys! It is an average unseasoned burger with a large number of options for toppings. However, I'm one of those who prefer a burger from somewhere else. It's awesome to see them make everything right in front of you and being able to customize it to your liking! They have more than just burgers. They also have dog options and now a burger bowl (obvi without the bunz). But it's really all about the burger here! The fries are pretty good but very greasy! I'm not a fan of the peanut oil but I'll still eat em. And get it to go and they fill the cup and top your bag off too! And while you're waiting, snack on some peanuts! I haven't had a shake from here but that's next on the list.

My buddy and I took a quick bus ride from Downtown Minneapolis to Uptown to a Five Guys. I have never been to one of these, so I did a little research. It looked like a little cheeseburger with everything and relish and jalapenos and hot sauce would be my pick of choice. We entered the establishment and there were sacks of French fries ready to be dropped into the boiling grease. It made an aisle effect for when you walked up the counter. The menu board was huge, but the prices were reasonable. The man behind the counter was super nice and took the order perfectly. I sat down with my two cohorts. My buddy ordered a large fries for all three of us. They basically fill a large pop cup with the fries and then throw a bunch more on top of them in a paper bag to make a sack of fries. They were pretty good fries, a little soggy, but nicely salted. I got my soda from one of the new Coke machines that have multiple options, I picked Coke Zero and then orange for my flavoring. Pretty sweet! My order was ready in about 5 minutes. For a "Little" cheeseburger, it was pretty huge! The American cheese was dripping perfectly off the meat patty ("Perfectly off the Meat Patty" would make a good band name) The burger was super juicy with the toppings piled up high. Every bite was pretty messy though, I am glad my buddy got about 20 napkins for the table. The hot sauce was just hot enough and the jalapenos were a nice touch of heat. Lots of good conversation and it was back on the bus. I only have about 5 or 6 burgers a year, so I like to make them count. This one more than counted on the awesome end. Solid 4 stars!

This is a regular cheeseburger and a regular fries. There were lots more fries in the brown back that didn't fit in the cup, so that's cool.

I've had Five Guys a few times over the years, and I've never come away with a strong opinion either way. It's just a place with burgers and fries and a couple other things. I suspect some people like the array of toppings and condiments and stuff you can add to your burger at no charge, but my taste in burgers generally directs me toward not much of that stuff. So I usually experience their burgers in a very stripped-down state. And it's all just unremarkable. But it costs a few bucks more than similar food that I like better, like at My Burger, and seems to take longer to prepare. So I'm not particularly into Five Guys.

Chose the Spot because I really dislike getting takeout from ordinary sit down restaurants during the time of Covid. This place is very good at Covid protocols they have barriers between you and the cashier, all employees are wearing gloves and masks, they have hand sanitizer available if you so choose to use, and while I was there were regularly spraying and wiping down tables with disinfectant. Staff was very friendly professional and courteous from ordering to handing the food off, I would say great customer service from a "fast food "restaurant. Due to their popularity wait time can be a little long that being said the staff informs you on this upon ordering. Only reason I can't give it five stars is because while you are waiting people seem to be gathering closer than 6 feet apart and staff is not suggesting people to spread out more, I know this is not their job but just wanted to give others a heads up in case they would like to order and eat from here.

The best burger in the world!!! I get the grilled onions in it extra extra. They do not do raw…read moreonions here or vegetables lol I always get the double cheese cheeseburger. This place is a cash only place I think. Well, I've only paid cash when I come here for many many years there was a sign cash only. They might take credit cards now MAYBE I'm not sure but if they do they might charge you a kajillion dollars for the fees lol. Just pay in cash. Bring lots of cash cuz you're gonna want to try the double cheeseburger AND the famous Juicy Lucy. I don't ever get the juicy Lucy because it comes out to piping hot and I don't wanna wait 10 minutes to eat my food lol. Their french fries are just like McDonald's french fries but it taste a lot more fresh. It is so good. You're gonna want to get a full basket. There's always a line out the door so you gotta come here real early.

By the time we ordered and looked up, the place was almost full. Waiting for our burgers (took some time since there was only 1 chef), there was a line! We got lucky to be the first batch since it took quite some time for food to come out. We got the jucy Lucy (about $11) and shared half order of fries, which is plenty enough for 2. I also got their hazy IPA. The beer tasted so good with the burger. The burger bun was kinda of dry, and the sides of the meat were dry and burnt. Luckily the cheese oozing out helped with the dryness. I think they also should have added American cheese on the outside of the burger, it would give it that moisture. But once you get to that cheese, it's quite good. Fries were nice and crunchy. Something to try, especially coming from the west coast and this really isn't a thing. CASH only!

First time trying this restaurant chain and I'm so disappointed...that I didn't get to try it…read moresooner! Wow. The chicken tenders were so perfectly cooked and delicious. Fires with spice, super nice. Service was super quick ordering and getting the food. The restaurant was huge and full and had a very active atmosphere due to its proximity to The University of Minnesota. Highly recommended!

I recently had a very disappointing experience at your restaurant, and I feel compelled to share…read moreit. I placed a mobile order for pickup at the location closest to me, which happens to be on the University of Minnesota campus. Although I had never been to this location before, I chose it for convenience (which, unfortunately, turned out to be not convenient at all and actually ruined our evening). When we arrived, my husband dropped me off to go inside to pick up the food, and meanwhile, he was circling the block waiting for me to pick up the order as no parking was available. After a considerable wait, he called to check on me because it was taking so long. There were only two workers in the front: a busy female employee at the register and a male employee who appeared to be responsible for passing out food. I stood at the to-go area, staring at my food sitting there for about 10 minutes while the male worker walked past me several times, avoiding eye contact. I began to wonder if I was in the wrong area or if there was some unusual procedure at this location since the worker didn't acknowledge me, so I wandered over to the cash register area, but there was a huge line out the door at this point. I returned to the pass-out counter and watched the male worker talk with someone in the back for a few more minutes. When he finally finished, I asked if he was working, and he responded with "What?" I repeated my question, explaining that I was there to pick up my food. He clearly heard me and walked away with a smirk on his face, then started bagging someone else's food and passed out several other orders, while my order continued to sit there for about 10 more minutes. Meanwhile, my husband was getting increasingly frustrated as he continued to circle the block three times in rush hour traffic, all the while our food was sitting behind the counter being held hostage by one of the most inconsiderate and disrespectful workers I've ever encountered. I was just trying to grab a quick to-go order. After being ignored, I snapped a photo of the employee, and only then did he finally help me (you can see my order sitting there behind his shoulder, getting cold while he handed someone else their hot food). I wonder how much longer it would have taken him to help me if I hadn't taken his photo? Never, maybe. He finally asked me what I was there for, and I had to repeat my name twice. He eventually handed me my order without any apology for the wait. This employee's behavior was completely unacceptable, especially during dinner time, which is just shocking. I also find it personally offensive, as a former restaurant worker putting myself through college - I just can't believe customer service has gotten this shameful. I encourage you to review the footage from the restaurant as it's truly a sight to see. I believe he should be fired, because he clearly knew better and was being rude on purpose. It's important to understand that your customers are not just college students who will tolerate this kind of service. I love Cane's, but I will drive out of my way to avoid this location in the future.
